യിരെമ്യാവു 20
1 ൧ എന്നാൽ യിരെമ്യാവ് ഈ കാര്യങ്ങൾ പ്രവചിക്കുന്നത് ഇമ്മേരിന്റെ മകനും യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിന് പ്രധാനവിചാരകനുമായ
Now Pashhur, the son of Immer the priest, who was chief officer in the LORD’s house, heard Jeremiah prophesying these things.
2 ൨ പശ്ഹൂർപുരോഹിതൻ കേട്ടിട്ട് യിരെമ്യാപ്രവാചകനെ അടിച്ച്, യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിനരികിലുള്ള മുകളിലത്തെ ബെന്യാമീൻ ഗോപുരത്തിലെ ആമത്തിൽ ഇട്ടു.
Then Pashhur struck Jeremiah the prophet and put him in the stocks that were in the upper gate of Benjamin, which was in the LORD’s house.
3 ൩ പിറ്റെന്നാൾ പശ്ഹൂർ യിരെമ്യാവിനെ വിലങ്ങഴിച്ചുവിട്ടപ്പോൾ യിരെമ്യാവ് അവനോട് പറഞ്ഞത്: “യഹോവ നിനക്ക് പശ്ഹൂർ എന്നല്ല, മാഗോർ മിസ്സാബീബ് എന്നത്രേ പേര് വിളിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നത്”.
On the next day, Pashhur released Jeremiah out of the stocks. Then Jeremiah said to him, “The LORD has not called your name Pashhur, but Magormissabib.
4 ൪ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: “ഞാൻ നിന്നെ നിനക്കും നിന്റെ സകല സ്നേഹിതന്മാർക്കും ഭീതിയാക്കിത്തീർക്കും; അവർ ശത്രുക്കളുടെ വാൾകൊണ്ടു വീഴും; നിന്റെ കണ്ണ് അത് കാണും; എല്ലാ യെഹൂദയെയും ഞാൻ ബാബേൽരാജാവിന്റെ കയ്യിൽ ഏല്പിക്കും; അവൻ അവരെ പിടിച്ച്, ബാബേലിലേക്കു കൊണ്ടുപോയി വാൾകൊണ്ട് കൊന്നുകളയും.
For the LORD says, ‘Behold, I will make you a terror to yourself and to all your friends. They will fall by the sword of their enemies, and your eyes will see it. I will give all Judah into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he will carry them captive to Babylon, and will kill them with the sword.
5 ൫ ഈ നഗരത്തിലെ സകലനിക്ഷേപങ്ങളും അതിലെ സകലസമ്പാദ്യങ്ങളും സകല വിശിഷ്ടവസ്തുക്കളും യെഹൂദാ രാജാക്കന്മാരുടെ സകലഭണ്ഡാരങ്ങളും ഞാൻ ശത്രുക്കളുടെ കയ്യിൽ ഏല്പിക്കും; അവർ അവ കൊള്ള ചെയ്ത് ബാബേലിലേക്കു കൊണ്ടുപോകും.
Moreover I will give all the riches of this city, and all its gains, and all its precious things, yes, I will give all the treasures of the kings of Judah into the hand of their enemies. They will make them captives, take them, and carry them to Babylon.
6 ൬ എന്നാൽ പശ്ഹൂരേ, നീയും നിന്റെ വീട്ടിൽ വസിക്കുന്ന എല്ലാവരും പ്രവാസത്തിലേക്കു പോകേണ്ടിവരും; നീയും നിന്റെ വ്യാജപ്രവചനം കേട്ട നിന്റെ സകലസ്നേഹിതന്മാരും ബാബേലിലേക്കു ചെന്ന്, അവിടെവച്ച് മരിച്ച്, അടക്കപ്പെടും.
You, Pashhur, and all who dwell in your house will go into captivity. You will come to Babylon, and there you will die, and there you will be buried, you, and all your friends, to whom you have prophesied falsely.’”
7 ൭ യഹോവേ, അങ്ങ് എന്നെ സമ്മതിപ്പിക്കുകയും ഞാൻ സമ്മതിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു; അങ്ങ് ബലം പ്രയോഗിച്ചു ജയിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; ഞാൻ ഇടവിടാതെ പരിഹാസവിഷയമായിരിക്കുന്നു; എല്ലാവരും എന്നെ പരിഹസിക്കുന്നു.
LORD, you have persuaded me, and I was persuaded. You are stronger than I, and have prevailed. I have become a laughingstock all day. Everyone mocks me.
8 ൮ സംസാരിക്കുമ്പോഴെല്ലാം ഞാൻ നിലവിളിച്ച് സാഹസത്തെയും ബലാല്ക്കാരത്തെയും കുറിച്ച് ആവലാതി പറയേണ്ടിവരുന്നു; അങ്ങനെ യഹോവയുടെ വചനം എനിക്ക് ഇടവിടാതെ നിന്ദയ്ക്കും പരിഹാസത്തിനും കാരണമായിരിക്കുന്നു.
For as often as I speak, I cry out; I cry, “Violence and destruction!” because the LORD’s word has been made a reproach to me, and a derision, all day.
9 ൯ ‘ഞാൻ ഇനി അങ്ങയെ ഓർക്കുകയില്ല, അവിടുത്തെ നാമത്തിൽ സംസാരിക്കുകയുമില്ല’ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞാൽ അത് എന്റെ അസ്ഥികളിൽ അടയ്ക്കപ്പെട്ടിട്ട് എന്റെ ഹൃദയത്തിൽ തീ കത്തുംപോലെ ഇരിക്കുന്നു; ഞാൻ തളർന്ന്, എനിക്ക് സഹിക്കുവാൻ കഴിയാതെയായി.
If I say that I will not make mention of him, or speak any more in his name, then there is in my heart as it were a burning fire shut up in my bones. I am weary with holding it in. I cannot.
10 ൧൦ “സർവ്വത്രഭീതി; ഞാൻ പലരുടെയും ഏഷണി കേട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു; കുറ്റം ബോധിപ്പിക്കുവിൻ; ഞങ്ങളും അവനെക്കുറിച്ചു കുറ്റം ബോധിപ്പിക്കാം; നാം അവനെ തോല്പിച്ച് അവനോട് പകവീട്ടുവാൻ തക്കവണ്ണം പക്ഷേ അവനെ വശത്താക്കാം” എന്ന് എന്റെ വീഴ്ചയ്ക്കു കാത്തിരിക്കുന്നവരായ എന്റെ സ്നേഹിതന്മാർ എല്ലാവരും പറയുന്നു.
For I have heard the defaming of many: “Terror on every side! Denounce, and we will denounce him!” say all my familiar friends, those who watch for my fall. “Perhaps he will be persuaded, and we will prevail against him, and we will take our revenge on him.”
11 ൧൧ എന്നാൽ യഹോവ ബലവാനായ വീരനെപ്പോലെ എന്നോടുകൂടി ഉണ്ട്; അതിനാൽ എന്നെ ഉപദ്രവിക്കുന്നവർ ഇടറിവീഴും; അവർ ജയിക്കുകയില്ല; അവർ ബുദ്ധിയോടെ പ്രവർത്തിക്കാതിരുന്നതിനാൽ ഏറ്റവും ലജ്ജിച്ചുപോകും; ഒരിക്കലും മറന്നുപോകാത്ത നിത്യലജ്ജയോടെ തന്നെ.
But the LORD is with me as an awesome mighty one. Therefore my persecutors will stumble, and they will not prevail. They will be utterly disappointed because they have not dealt wisely, even with an everlasting dishonor which will never be forgotten.
12 ൧൨ നീതിമാനെ ശോധനചെയ്ത്, അന്തരംഗങ്ങളെയും ഹൃദയത്തെയും കാണുന്നവനായ സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവേ, അങ്ങ് അവരോടു ചെയ്യുന്ന പ്രതികാരം ഞാൻ കാണുമാറാകട്ടെ; എന്റെ വ്യവഹാരം ഞാൻ അങ്ങയോടു ബോധിപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ.
But the LORD of Armies, who tests the righteous, who sees the heart and the mind, let me see your vengeance on them, for I have revealed my cause to you.
13 ൧൩ യഹോവയ്ക്കു പാട്ടുപാടുവിൻ! യഹോവയെ സ്തുതിക്കുവിൻ! അവിടുന്ന് ദരിദ്രന്റെ പ്രാണനെ ദുഷ്ടന്മാരുടെ കൈയിൽനിന്ന് വിടുവിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.
Sing to the LORD! Praise the LORD, for he has delivered the soul of the needy from the hand of evildoers.
14 ൧൪ ഞാൻ ജനിച്ചദിവസം ശപിക്കപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കട്ടെ; എന്റെ അമ്മ എന്നെ പ്രസവിച്ച ദിവസം അനുഗ്രഹിക്കപ്പെടാതിരിക്കട്ടെ.
Cursed is the day in which I was born. Do not let the day in which my mother bore me be blessed.
15 ൧൫ ‘നിനക്ക് ഒരു മകൻ ജനിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു’ എന്ന് എന്റെ അപ്പനോട് അറിയിച്ച് അവനെ ഏറ്റവും സന്തോഷിപ്പിച്ച മനുഷ്യൻ ശപിക്കപ്പെട്ടവൻ.
Cursed is the man who brought news to my father, saying, “A boy is born to you,” making him very glad.
16 ൧൬ എന്റെ അമ്മ എന്റെ ശവക്കുഴിയും, അവളുടെ ഗർഭപാത്രം എല്ലായ്പോഴും നിറഞ്ഞതും ആയിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്, ആ മനുഷ്യൻ എന്നെ ഉദരത്തിൽവച്ച് കൊന്നുകളയാതിരുന്നതുകൊണ്ട് അവൻ,
Let that man be as the cities which the LORD overthrew, and did not repent. Let him hear a cry in the morning, and shouting at noontime,
17 ൧൭ അനുതപിക്കാതെ യഹോവ ഉന്മൂലനാശം വരുത്തിയ പട്ടണങ്ങളെപ്പോലെ ആയിത്തീരട്ടെ; രാവിലെ അവൻ നിലവിളിയും ഉച്ചസമയത്ത് പോർവിളിയും കേൾക്കുമാറാകട്ടെ.
because he did not kill me from the womb. So my mother would have been my grave, and her womb always great.
18 ൧൮ കഷ്ടവും സങ്കടവും അനുഭവിച്ച് ജീവകാലം ലജ്ജയിൽ കഴിച്ചുകൂട്ടേണ്ടതിന് ഞാൻ ഉദരത്തിൽനിന്ന് പുറത്തുവന്നത് എന്തിന്?”.
Why did I come out of the womb to see labor and sorrow, that my days should be consumed with shame?
