യിരെമ്യാവു 17
1 ൧ “യെഹൂദയുടെ പാപം നാരായംകൊണ്ടും വജ്രമുനകൊണ്ടും എഴുതിവച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; അത് അവരുടെ ഹൃദയത്തിന്റെ പലകയിലും നിങ്ങളുടെ യാഗപീഠത്തിന്റെ കൊമ്പുകളിലും കൊത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു.
The sin of Judah is written with a pen of iron, With the point of a diamond is it engraved Upon the tablet of their hearts, Upon the horns of their altars.
2 ൨ ഉയർന്ന കുന്നുകളിൽ പച്ചമരങ്ങൾക്കരികിലുള്ള അവരുടെ യാഗപീഠങ്ങളെയും അശേരാപ്രതിഷ്ഠകളെയും അവരുടെ മക്കൾ ഓർക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ.
While their children remember the altars, and the images of Astarte, Near the green trees, And upon the high hills.
3 ൩ വയൽപ്രദേശത്തെ എന്റെ പർവ്വതമേ, നിന്റെ അതിരിനകത്ത് എല്ലായിടവും ചെയ്ത പാപംനിമിത്തം ഞാൻ നിന്റെ സമ്പത്തും സകലനിക്ഷേപങ്ങളും പൂജാഗിരികളും കവർച്ചയ്ക്ക് ഏല്പിക്കും.
My mountain in the field! thy substance and all thy treasures will I give up for spoil; Thy high places for sin in all thy borders.
4 ൪ ഞാൻ നിനക്ക് തന്ന അവകാശം നീ വിട്ടുപോകേണ്ടിവരും; നീ അറിയാത്ത ദേശത്ത് ഞാൻ നിന്നെ നിന്റെ ശത്രുക്കളെ സേവിക്കുമാറാക്കും; നിങ്ങൾ എന്റെ കോപത്തിൽ ഒരു തീ ജ്വലിപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; അത് എന്നേക്കും കത്തിക്കൊണ്ടിരിക്കും”.
Thou shalt of thyself cease to possess the inheritance which I gave thee, And I will cause thee to serve thy enemies in a land which thou knowest not; For ye have kindled a fire in my anger, Which shall burn forever.
5 ൫ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: “മനുഷ്യനിൽ ആശ്രയിച്ച് ജഡത്തെ തന്റെ ഭുജമാക്കി ഹൃദയംകൊണ്ട് യഹോവയെ വിട്ടുമാറുന്ന മനുഷ്യൻ ശപിക്കപ്പെട്ടവൻ.
Thus saith Jehovah: Cursed be the man who trusteth in man, And maketh flesh his arm, And whose heart departeth from Jehovah!
6 ൬ അവൻ മരുഭൂമിയിലെ ചൂരച്ചെടിപോലെയാകും; നന്മ വരുമ്പോൾ അത് കാണാതെ മരുഭൂമിയിലെ വരണ്ട പ്രദേശങ്ങളിലും ജനവാസം ഇല്ലാത്ത ഉപ്പുനിലത്തിലും പാർക്കും.
He shall be like a poor wanderer in the desert, Who seeth not when good cometh, But dwelleth in the parched places of the desert, In a salt land, and uninhabited.
Blessed is the man who trusteth in Jehovah; Who in Jehovah placeth his hope!
8 ൮ അവൻ വെള്ളത്തിനരികിൽ നട്ടിരിക്കുന്നതും ആറ്റരികിൽ വേരൂന്നിയിരിക്കുന്നതുമായ വൃക്ഷംപോലെയാകും; ഉഷ്ണം തട്ടുമ്പോൾ അത് പേടിക്കുകയില്ല; അതിന്റെ ഇല പച്ചയായിരിക്കും; വരൾച്ചയുള്ള കാലത്തും വാട്ടം തട്ടാതെ ഫലം കായിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കും.
He shall be like a tree planted by the water-side, That spreadeth out her roots by the stream, That feeleth not when the heat cometh, But whose leaf is green; That careth not in the year of drought, Nor ceaseth from yielding fruit.
The heart is deceitful above all things; Yea, it is corrupt; who can know it?
10 ൧൦ യഹോവയായ ഞാൻ ഹൃദയത്തെ ശോധനചെയ്ത് അന്തരംഗങ്ങളെ പരീക്ഷിച്ച് ഓരോരുത്തന് അവനവന്റെ നടപ്പിനും പ്രവൃത്തിയുടെ ഫലത്തിനും തക്കവണ്ണം കൊടുക്കുന്നു.
I, Jehovah, search the heart, And try the reins, To give to every man according to his ways, And according to the fruit of his doings.
11 ൧൧ ന്യായമായിട്ടല്ലാതെ ധനം സമ്പാദിക്കുന്നവൻ, താൻ ഇടാത്ത മുട്ടയ്ക്ക് പൊരുന്നയിരിക്കുന്ന തിത്തിരിപ്പക്ഷിയെപ്പോലെയാകുന്നു; അവന്റെ ആയുസ്സിന്റെ മദ്ധ്യത്തിൽ അത് അവനെ വിട്ടുപോകും: ഒടുവിൽ അവൻ ഒരു ഭോഷനായിരിക്കും.
As the partridge sitteth on eggs which she hath not laid, So is he that getteth riches, and not by right; In the midst of his days shall he leave them, And in his latter end find himself a fool.
A glorious, lofty throne from the beginning Hath been the place of our sanctuary.
13 ൧൩ യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ പ്രത്യാശയായ യഹോവേ, അങ്ങയെ ഉപേക്ഷിക്കുന്ന ഏവരും ലജ്ജിച്ചുപോകും. “എന്നെ വിട്ടുപോകുന്നവരെ മണ്ണിൽ എഴുതിവയ്ക്കും; അവർ ജീവജലത്തിന്റെ ഉറവയായ യഹോവയെ ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞുവല്ലോ”.
O thou hope of Israel, Jehovah! All that forsake thee shall be put to shame; Yea, all that depart from me shall be written in dust, Because they have forsaken the fountain of living water, they have forsaken Jehovah.
14 ൧൪ യഹോവേ, എന്നെ സൗഖ്യമാക്കണമേ, എന്നാൽ എനിക്ക് സൗഖ്യം വരും; എന്നെ രക്ഷിക്കണമേ, എന്നാൽ ഞാൻ രക്ഷപെടും; അവിടുന്ന് എന്റെ പുകഴ്ചയല്ലയോ.
Heal me, O Jehovah, and I shall be healed; Save me, and I shall be saved; For thou art my praise!
Behold, they say to me, “Where is the word of Jehovah? Let it come to pass!”
16 ൧൬ ഞാനോ ഒരു ഇടയനായി അങ്ങയെ സേവിക്കുവാൻ മടിച്ചില്ല; ദുർദ്ദിനം ഞാൻ ആഗ്രഹിച്ചതുമില്ല എന്നു അവിടുന്ന് അറിയുന്നു; എന്റെ അധരങ്ങൾ ഉച്ചരിച്ചത് തിരുമുമ്പിൽ ഇരിക്കുന്നു.
I have not refused to follow thee, as thy shepherd, Neither have I desired the day of woe, as thou knowest! That which came from my lips hath been before thine eyes.
Be not thou a terror to me, Thou, my refuge in the day of distress! Let my persecutors be confounded, but let not me be confounded!
18 ൧൮ എന്നെ ഉപദ്രവിക്കുന്നവർ ലജ്ജിച്ചുപോകട്ടെ; ഞാൻ ലജ്ജിച്ചുപോകരുതേ; അവർ ഭ്രമിച്ചുപോകട്ടെ; ഞാൻ ഭ്രമിച്ചുപോകരുതേ; അവർക്ക് അനർത്ഥദിവസം വരുത്തണമേ; ഇരട്ടി വിനാശം വരുത്തി അവരെ തകർക്കണമേ”.
Let them be dismayed, but let not me be dismayed! Bring upon them the day of calamity, And destroy them with double destruction!
19 ൧൯ യഹോവ എന്നോട് ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു: “നീ ചെന്ന്, യെഹൂദാരാജാക്കന്മാർ അകത്ത് വരുകയും പുറത്തു പോകുകയും ചെയ്യുന്ന ജനത്തിന്റെ വാതില്‍ക്കലും യെരൂശലേമിന്റെ എല്ലാവാതില്ക്കലും നിന്നുകൊണ്ട് അവരോടു പറയുക:
Thus said Jehovah to me: Go and stand in the people's gate, Through which the kings of Judah come in and go out, And in all the gates of Jerusalem,
20 ൨൦ ഈ വാതിലുകളിൽകൂടി അകത്ത് കടക്കുന്ന യെഹൂദാരാജാക്കന്മാരും എല്ലാ യെഹൂദന്മാരും യെരൂശലേമിലെ സർവ്വനിവാസികളും ആയുള്ളവരേ, യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാട് കേൾക്കുവിൻ!
And say to them, Hear the word of Jehovah, ye kings of Judah, All Judah, and all ye who dwell at Jerusalem, Who enter in through these gates!
21 ൨൧ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: “സൂക്ഷിച്ചുകൊള്ളുവിൻ; ശബ്ബത്തുനാളിൽ യാതൊരു ചുമടും ചുമന്ന് യെരൂശലേമിന്റെ വാതിലുകളിൽകൂടി അകത്ത് കൊണ്ടുവരരുത്.
Thus saith Jehovah: Take heed to yourselves, And carry no burden on the sabbath-day, And bring none through the gates of Jerusalem.
22 ൨൨ നിങ്ങളുടെ വീടുകളിൽനിന്ന് യാതൊരു ചുമടും ശബ്ബത്തുനാളിൽ പുറത്തു കൊണ്ടുപോകാതെയും, യാതൊരുവേലയും ചെയ്യാതെയും, നിങ്ങളുടെ പൂര്‍വ്വ പിതാക്കന്മാരോട് ഞാൻ കല്പിച്ചതുപോലെ ശബ്ബത്തുനാൾ വിശുദ്ധീകരിക്കുവിൻ.
Bear no burden from your houses on the sabbath-day, And do no kind of work; But keep ye holy the sabbath-day, As I commanded your fathers.
23 ൨൩ എന്നാൽ അവർ അനുസരിച്ചില്ല, ചെവി ചായിച്ചതുമില്ല; കേട്ടനുസരിക്കുകയോ ബുദ്ധ്യുപദേശം കൈക്കൊള്ളുകയോ ചെയ്യാതെ അവർ ശാഠ്യം കാണിച്ചു.
But they hearkened not, nor inclined their ear, But made their necks stiff, and refused to hear, And refused to receive instruction.
24 ൨൪ നിങ്ങളോ ശബ്ബത്തുനാളിൽ ഈ നഗരത്തിന്റെ വാതിലുകളിൽകൂടി യാതൊരു ചുമടും കൊണ്ടുവരാതെയും ശബ്ബത്തുനാളിൽ യാതൊരുവേലയും ചെയ്യാതെയും അതിനെ വിശുദ്ധീകരിക്കേണ്ടതിന് എന്റെ വാക്കു ജാഗ്രതയോടെ കേട്ടനുസരിക്കുമെങ്കിൽ,
If ye will now diligently hearken to me, saith Jehovah, And bring no burden through the gates of this city on the sabbath-day, But keep holy the sabbath-day, Doing no work therein,
25 ൨൫ ദാവീദിന്റെ സിംഹാസനത്തിൽ ഇരിക്കുന്നവരും രഥങ്ങളിലും കുതിരപ്പുറത്തും കയറുന്നവരുമായ രാജാക്കന്മാരും രാജകുമാരന്മാരും അവരുടെ പ്രഭുക്കന്മാരായ യെഹൂദാപുരുഷന്മാരും യെരൂശലേം നിവാസികളും ഈ നഗരത്തിന്റെ വാതിലുകളിൽകൂടി കടക്കുകയും ഈ നഗരം എന്നേക്കും നിലനില്‍ക്കുകയും ചെയ്യും” എന്ന് യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാട്.
Then shall enter the gates of this city kings and princes, Who sit upon the throne of David, Riding in chariots and on horses, They and their chieftains, The men of Judah, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem; And this city shall be inhabited forever.
26 ൨൬ യെഹൂദാപട്ടണങ്ങളിൽനിന്നും യെരൂശലേമിനു ചുറ്റും ഉള്ള പ്രദേശങ്ങളിൽനിന്നും ബെന്യാമീൻദേശത്തുനിന്നും താണപ്രദേശങ്ങളിൽനിന്നും മലനാടുകളിൽനിന്നും തെക്കേ ദിക്കിൽനിന്നും അവർ ഹോമയാഗങ്ങളും ഹനനയാഗങ്ങളും ഭോജനയാഗങ്ങളും കുന്തുരുക്കവും കൊണ്ടുവരും; യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിൽ അവർ സ്തോത്രയാഗവും അർപ്പിക്കും.
Then from the cities of Judah, and the places around Jerusalem, From the land of Benjamin, and from the plain, From the mountains, and from the South, Shall they come bringing burnt-offerings, and sacrifices, And flour-offerings, and incense, And bringing thank-offerings to the house of Jehovah.
27 ൨൭ “എന്നാൽ ശബ്ബത്തുനാൾ വിശുദ്ധീകരിക്കുവാനും ശബ്ബത്തുനാളിൽ യെരൂശലേമിന്റെ വാതിലുകളിൽകൂടി ചുമട് ചുമന്നുകൊണ്ടുപോകാതെ ഇരിക്കുവാനും നിങ്ങൾ എന്റെ വാക്കു കേട്ടനുസരിക്കുകയില്ലെങ്കിൽ ഞാൻ അതിന്റെ വാതിലുകളിൽ തീ കൊളുത്തും; അത് കെട്ടുപോകാതെ യെരൂശലേമിലെ അരമനകളെ ദഹിപ്പിക്കും”.
But if ye will not hearken to me, To keep holy the sabbath-day, And to carry no burden through the gates of Jerusalem on the sabbath-day, Then will I kindle in her gates an unquenchable fire, Which shall devour the palaces of Jerusalem.
