ഹോശേയ 13
1 ൧ എഫ്രയീം സംസാരിച്ചപ്പോൾ വിറയൽ ഉണ്ടായി; അവൻ യിസ്രായേലിൽ ഉന്നതനായിരുന്നു; എന്നാൽ ബാല്‍ മുഖാന്തരം കുറ്റം ചെയ്തപ്പോൾ അവൻ മരിച്ചുപോയി.
When Ephraim used to speak there was trembling; a prince was he in Israel. But he incurred guilt through Baal and died.
2 ൨ ഇപ്പോഴോ, അവർ അധികമധികം പാപം ചെയ്യുന്നു; അവർ വെള്ളികൊണ്ട് ബിംബങ്ങളും ബോധിച്ചതുപോലെ വിഗ്രഹങ്ങളും ഉണ്ടാക്കി; ഇവയെല്ലാം കൗശലപ്പണിക്കാരുടെ പണിയാകുന്നു; അവയോട് അവർ സംസാരിക്കുന്നു; ബലികഴിക്കുന്ന മനുഷ്യർ കാളക്കിടാക്കളെ ചുംബിക്കുന്നു.
And now they go on sinning. They make for themselves molten gods – idols of silver, skilfully made, wholly the work of smiths. Yet to such they sacrifice! And they who sacrifice kiss calf idols!
3 ൩ അതുകൊണ്ട് അവർ പ്രഭാതമേഘംപോലെയും പുലർച്ചയിൽ നീങ്ങിപ്പോകുന്ന മഞ്ഞുപോലെയും കളത്തിൽനിന്ന് കാറ്റ് പറപ്പിക്കുന്ന പതിർപോലെയും പുകക്കുഴലിൽനിന്നു പൊങ്ങുന്ന പുകപോലെയും ആയിരിക്കും.
Therefore they shall be like the morning mist, like the dew that early disappears, like the chaff which blows away from the threshing floor, like the smoke from the window.
4 ൪ ഞാനോ ഈജിപ്റ്റ് ദേശം മുതൽ നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ ആകുന്നു; എന്നെയല്ലാതെ വേറൊരു ദൈവത്തെ നീ അറിയുന്നില്ല;
Yet it was I, the Lord your God, ever since the land of Egypt, you know no other god but me, nor has there been any saviour except me.
It was I who shepherded you in the wilderness, in the land of burning heat.
6 ൬ അവർക്ക് സമൃദ്ധിയായി മേച്ചൽ ലഭിച്ചു. അവർ തൃപ്തരായപ്പോൾ അവരുടെ ഹൃദയം നിഗളിച്ചു; അതുകൊണ്ട് അവർ എന്നെ മറന്നുകളഞ്ഞു.
When they were pastured they became full, when they were full their hearts became proud. Therefore they forgot me!
7 ൭ ആകയാൽ ഞാൻ അവർക്ക് ഒരു സിംഹത്തെപ്പോലെ ഇരിക്കും; വഴിയരികെ ഒരു പുള്ളിപ്പുലിയെപ്പോലെ ഞാൻ അവർക്കായി പതിയിരിക്കും;
So now I will be to them like a lion, like a leopard will I lay in wait by the path.
8 ൮ കുട്ടികൾ നഷ്ടപ്പെട്ട കരടിയെപ്പോലെ ഞാൻ അവരെ എതിരിട്ട് അവരുടെ മാറിടം കീറിക്കളയും; അവിടെവച്ച് ഞാൻ അവരെ ഒരു സിംഹത്തെപ്പോലെ തിന്നുകളയും; കാട്ടുമൃഗം അവരെ കടിച്ചുകീറും.
I will fall upon them like a bear robbed of her cubs, I will tear open their chests, like a lion will devour them, and like a wild beast will tear them in pieces.
You are destroyed, Israel, by me, your only helper.
10 ൧൦ നിന്റെ എല്ലാ പട്ടണങ്ങളിലും നിന്നെ രക്ഷിക്കുവാൻ നിന്റെ രാജാവ് ഇപ്പോൾ എവിടെ? ‘ഞങ്ങൾക്ക് ഒരു രാജാവിനെയും പ്രഭുക്കന്മാരെയും തരേണം’ എന്ന് അപേക്ഷിച്ച നിന്റെ ന്യായാധിപന്മാർ എവിടെ?
I want to rule you! Where are your princes in your cities, those of whom you demanded, ‘Give me kings and princes.’
I give you kings in my anger, and take them away in my wrath.
Ephrahn’s iniquity is gathered up, his sin is laid by in store.
13 ൧൩ നോവുകിട്ടിയ സ്ത്രീയുടെ വേദന അവന് ഉണ്ടാകും; അവൻ ബുദ്ധിയില്ലാത്ത മകൻ; സമയമാകുമ്പോൾ അവൻ ഗർഭദ്വാരത്തിൽ എത്തുന്നില്ല.
The pangs of childbirth come upon him, but he is an unwise child. For this is no time to refuse to leave the womb!
14 ൧൪ ഞാൻ അവരെ പാതാളത്തിന്റെ അധികാരത്തിൽനിന്ന് വീണ്ടെടുക്കും; മരണത്തിൽനിന്നു ഞാൻ അവരെ വിടുവിക്കും; മരണമേ, നിന്റെ ബാധകൾ എവിടെ? പാതാളമേ, നിന്റെ സംഹാരം എവിടെ? എനിക്ക് സഹതാപം തോന്നുകയില്ല. (Sheol h7585)
Should I deliver them from the power of Sheol? Should I redeem them from death? Death, where are your plagues? Sheol, where is your pestilence? Compassion is forever hidden from my eyes. (Sheol h7585)
15 ൧൫ അവൻ തന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാരുടെ ഇടയിൽ ഫലപുഷ്ടിയുള്ളവനായിരുന്നാലും ഒരു കിഴക്കൻകാറ്റു വരും; അവന്റെ ഉറവു വറ്റി കിണർ ഉണങ്ങിപ്പോകുവാൻ തക്കവണ്ണം യഹോവയുടെ കാറ്റ് മരുഭൂമിയിൽനിന്നു വരും; അവൻ സകലമനോഹരവസ്തുക്കളുടെയും നിക്ഷേപം കവർന്നുകൊണ്ടുപോകും.
Though he is flourishing among his brothers, there will come an east wind, the Lord’s wind, coming up from the wilderness. His fountain will dry up, his spring shall be parched. The wind will strip the treasury, all the precious things.
16 ൧൬ ശമര്യ തന്റെ ദൈവത്തോട് മത്സരിച്ചതുകൊണ്ട് അവൾ തന്റെ അകൃത്യം വഹിക്കേണ്ടിവരും; അവർ വാൾകൊണ്ടു വീഴും; അവരുടെ ശിശുക്കളെ അവർ തകർത്തുകളയും; അവരുടെ ഗർഭിണികളുടെ ഉദരം പിളർന്നുകളയും.
Samaria will bear her guilt, for she has rebelled against her God. They will fall by the sword, their children dashed to pieces, their pregnant women ripped open.
