1 ശമൂവേൽ 3
1 ൧ ശമൂവേൽബാലൻ ഏലിയുടെ ശിക്ഷ്ണത്തിൽ യഹോവയ്ക്ക് ശുശ്രൂഷ ചെയ്ത് പോന്നു; ആ കാലത്ത് യഹോവയുടെ വചനം വളരെ കുറവായിരുന്നു; ദർശനങ്ങളും അധികം ഇല്ലായിരുന്നു.
The child Samuel ministered to the LORD before Eli. The LORD’s word was rare in those days. There were not many visions, then.
At that time, when Eli was laid down in his place (now his eyes had begun to grow dim, so that he could not see),
3 ൩ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ പെട്ടകം ഇരിക്കുന്ന യഹോവയുടെ മന്ദിരത്തിൽ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ വിളക്ക് അണയുന്നതിനു മുൻപെ ശമൂവേൽ ചെന്ന് കിടന്നു.
and God’s lamp had not yet gone out, and Samuel had laid down in the LORD’s temple where God’s ark was,
4 ൪ യഹോവ ശമൂവേലിനെ വിളിച്ചു: “അടിയൻ” എന്ന് അവൻ വിളികേട്ടു ഏലിയുടെ അടുക്കലേക്ക് ഓടിച്ചെന്നു: “അടിയൻ ഇതാ; അങ്ങ് എന്നെ വിളിച്ചുവല്ലോ” എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.
The LORD called Samuel. He said, “Here I am.”
He ran to Eli and said, “Here I am; for you called me.” He said, “I did not call. Lie down again.” He went and lay down.
6 ൬ യഹോവ പിന്നെയും “ശമൂവേലേ!” എന്നു വിളിച്ചു. ശമൂവേൽ എഴുന്നേറ്റ് ഏലിയുടെ അടുക്കൽ ഓടി ചെന്നു: “അടിയൻ ഇതാ; അങ്ങ് എന്നെ വിളിച്ചുവോ” എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു. “ഞാൻ വിളിച്ചില്ല, മകനേ; പോയി കിടന്നുകൊൾക” എന്ന് അവൻ പറഞ്ഞു.
The LORD called yet again, “Samuel!” Samuel arose and went to Eli and said, “Here I am; for you called me.” He answered, “I did not call, my son. Lie down again.”
Now Samuel did not yet know the LORD, neither was the LORD’s word yet revealed to him.
8 ൮ യഹോവ ശമൂവേലിനെ മൂന്നാം പ്രാവശ്യവും വിളിച്ചു. വീണ്ടും അവൻ എഴുന്നേറ്റ് ഏലിയുടെ അടുക്കൽ ചെന്നു: “അടിയൻ ഇതാ; അങ്ങ് എന്നെ വിളിച്ചുവല്ലോ” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. അപ്പോൾ യഹോവയായിരുന്നു ബാലനെ വിളിച്ചത് എന്ന് ഏലിക്ക് മനസ്സിലായി.
The LORD called Samuel again the third time. He arose and went to Eli and said, “Here I am; for you called me.” Eli perceived that the LORD had called the child.
9 ൯ ഏലി ശമൂവേലിനോട്: “പോയി കിടന്നുകൊൾക; ഇനിയും നിന്നെ വിളിച്ചാൽ: യഹോവേ, അരുളിച്ചെയ്യേണമേ; അടിയൻ കേൾക്കുന്നു” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞുകൊള്ളേണം. അങ്ങനെ ശമൂവേൽ തന്റെ സ്ഥലത്ത് ചെന്നുകിടന്നു.
Therefore Eli said to Samuel, “Go, lie down. It shall be, if he calls you, that you shall say, ‘Speak, LORD; for your servant hears.’” So Samuel went and lay down in his place.
10 ൧൦ അപ്പോൾ യഹോവ വന്ന് മുമ്പിലത്തെപ്പോലെ: “ശമൂവേലേ, ശമൂവേലേ,” എന്ന് വിളിച്ചു. അതിന് ശമൂവേൽ: “അരുളിച്ചെയ്യണമേ; അടിയൻ കേൾക്കുന്നു” എന്ന് പറഞ്ഞു.
The LORD came, and stood, and called as at other times, “Samuel! Samuel!” Then Samuel said, “Speak; for your servant hears.”
11 ൧൧ യഹോവ ശമൂവേലിനോട് അരുളിച്ചെയ്തത്: “ഇതാ, ഞാൻ യിസ്രായേലിൽ ഒരു കാര്യം ചെയ്യും; അത് കേൾക്കുന്നവർ ഞെട്ടും.
The LORD said to Samuel, “Behold, I will do a thing in Israel at which both the ears of everyone who hears it will tingle.
12 ൧൨ ഞാൻ ഏലിയുടെ ഭവനത്തെക്കുറിച്ചു അരുളിച്ചെയ്ത എല്ലാകാര്യങ്ങളും ഞാൻ അന്ന് അവന്റെമേൽ ആദ്യം മുതൽ അവസാനംവരെ പൂർത്തീകരിക്കും.
In that day I will perform against Eli all that I have spoken concerning his house, from the beginning even to the end.
13 ൧൩ അവന്റെ പുത്രന്മാർ അവരെ തന്നെ ശാപയോഗ്യരാക്കി. എന്നിട്ടും അവൻ മക്കളെ ശാസിച്ച് തടഞ്ഞില്ല. അതുകൊണ്ട് അവന്റെ ഭവനത്തിന് എന്നേക്കും ശിക്ഷ വിധിക്കും” എന്ന് ഞാൻ അവനോട് കല്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.
For I have told him that I will judge his house forever for the iniquity which he knew, because his sons brought a curse on themselves, and he did not restrain them.
14 ൧൪ ഏലിയുടെ ഭവനം ചെയ്ത പാപത്തിന്, യാഗത്താലും വഴിപാടിനാലും ഒരു കാലത്തും പരിഹാരം വരികയില്ല എന്ന് ഞാൻ സത്യം ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു.
Therefore I have sworn to the house of Eli that the iniquity of Eli’s house shall not be removed with sacrifice or offering forever.”
15 ൧൫ പിന്നെ ശമൂവേൽ രാവിലെവരെ കിടന്നുറങ്ങി; രാവിലെ യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിന്റെ വാതിലുകൾ തുറന്നു. എന്നാൽ ഈ ദർശനം ഏലിയെ അറിയിക്കുവാൻ ശമൂവേൽ ഭയപ്പെട്ടു.
Samuel lay until the morning, and opened the doors of the LORD’s house. Samuel was afraid to show Eli the vision.
Then Eli called Samuel and said, “Samuel, my son!” He said, “Here I am.”
17 ൧൭ അപ്പോൾ ഏലി: “നിനക്കുണ്ടായ അരുളപ്പാട് എന്ത്? എന്നോട് ഒന്നും മറച്ചു വെക്കരുതേ; നിന്നോട് അരുളിച്ചെയ്ത ഒരു വാക്കെങ്കിലും എന്നോട് പറയാതിരുന്നാൽ ദൈവം നിന്നോട് അങ്ങനെ തന്നെയോ, അതിലധികമോ ചെയ്യട്ടെ” എന്ന് പറഞ്ഞു.
He said, “What is the thing that he has spoken to you? Please do not hide it from me. God do so to you, and more also, if you hide anything from me of all the things that he spoke to you.”
18 ൧൮ അങ്ങനെ ശമൂവേൽ സകലവും അവനെ അറിയിച്ചു; ഒന്നും മറച്ചു വെച്ചില്ല. അപ്പോൾ ഏലി: “യഹോവയാണല്ലോ ഇത് അരുളിചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നത്; അവിടുത്തെ ഇഷ്ടംപോലെ ചെയ്യട്ടെ” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
Samuel told him every bit, and hid nothing from him. He said, “It is the LORD. Let him do what seems good to him.”
19 ൧൯ ശമൂവേൽ വളർന്നു, യഹോവ അവനോടുകൂടെ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; ദൈവത്തിന്റെ വചനങ്ങളിൽ ഒന്നും നിഷ്ഫലമാകുവാൻ ഇട വരുത്തിയില്ല.
Samuel grew, and the LORD was with him and let none of his words fall to the ground.
20 ൨൦ ദാൻ മുതൽ ബേർ-ശേബാവരെ ഉള്ള യിസ്രായേൽ ജനമൊക്കെയും ശമൂവേൽ യഹോവയുടെ വിശ്വസ്തപ്രവാചകൻ എന്ന് ഗ്രഹിച്ചു.
All Israel from Dan even to Beersheba knew that Samuel was established to be a prophet of the LORD.
21 ൨൧ യഹോവ ശീലോവിൽവച്ച് ശമൂവേലിന് യഹോവയുടെ വചനത്താൽ വെളിപ്പെട്ടശേഷം, വീണ്ടും ശീലോവിൽവച്ച് പ്രത്യക്ഷനായി.
The LORD appeared again in Shiloh; for the LORD revealed himself to Samuel in Shiloh by the LORD’s word.
