1 ബാബേൽനദികളുടെ തീരത്തു ഞങ്ങൾ ഇരുന്നു, സീയോനെ ഓൎത്തപ്പോൾ ഞങ്ങൾ കരഞ്ഞു.

By the rivers of Babylon, there we sat down. Yes, we wept, when we remembered Zion.

2 അതിന്റെ നടുവിലെ അലരിവൃക്ഷങ്ങളിന്മേൽ ഞങ്ങൾ ഞങ്ങളുടെ കിന്നരങ്ങളെ തൂക്കിയിട്ടു.

On the willows in its midst, we hung up our harps.

5 യെരൂശലേമേ, നിന്നെ ഞാൻ മറക്കുന്നു എങ്കിൽ എന്റെ വലങ്കൈ മറന്നുപോകട്ടെ.

If I forget you, Jerusalem, let my right hand be forgotten.

6 നിന്നെ ഞാൻ ഓൎക്കാതെ പോയാൽ, യെരൂശലേമിനെ എന്റെ മുഖ്യസന്തോഷത്തെക്കാൾ വിലമതിക്കാതെ പോയാൽ, എന്റെ നാവു അണ്ണാക്കിനോടു പറ്റിപ്പോകട്ടെ.

Let my tongue stick to the roof of my mouth if I do not remember you; if I do not prefer Jerusalem above my chief joy.

7 ഇടിച്ചുകളവിൻ, അടിസ്ഥാനംവരെ അതിനെ ഇടിച്ചുകളവിൻ! എന്നിങ്ങനെ പറഞ്ഞ ഏദോമ്യൎക്കായി യഹോവേ, യെരൂശലേമിന്റെ നാൾ ഓൎക്കേണമേ.

Remember, LORD, against the descendants of Edom, the day of Jerusalem; who said, "Raze it. Raze it even to its foundation."

8 നാശം അടുത്തിരിക്കുന്ന ബാബേൽപുത്രിയേ, നീ ഞങ്ങളോടു ചെയ്തതുപോലെ നിന്നോടു ചെയ്യുന്നവൻ ഭാഗ്യവാൻ.

Daughter of Babylon, doomed to destruction, he will be blessed who rewards you, as you have served us.

9 നിന്റെ കുഞ്ഞുങ്ങളെ പിടിച്ചു പാറമേൽ അടിച്ചുകളയുന്നവൻ ഭാഗ്യവാൻ.
