സദൃശവാക്യങ്ങൾ 28
1 ആരും ഓടിക്കാതെ ദുഷ്ടന്മാർ ഓടിപ്പോകുന്നു; നീതിമാന്മാരോ ബാലസിംഹംപോലെ നിൎഭയമായിരിക്കുന്നു.
The lawless, fleeth when no man pursueth, but, the righteous, like a lion, are confident.
2 ദേശത്തെ അതിക്രമംനിമിത്തം അതിലെ പ്രഭുക്കന്മാർ പലരായിരിക്കുന്നു; ബുദ്ധിയും പരിജ്ഞാനവും ഉള്ളവർ മുഖാന്തരമോ അതിന്റെ വ്യവസ്ഥ ദീൎഘമായി നില്ക്കുന്നു.
For the transgressions of a land, many are the rulers thereof, but, under an intelligent and discerning man, stability is prolonged.
3 അഗതികളെ പീഡിപ്പിക്കുന്ന ദരിദ്രൻ വിളവിനെ വെച്ചേക്കാതെ ഒഴുക്കിക്കളയുന്ന മഴപോലെയാകുന്നു.
A poor man, who oppresseth the helpless, [is like] a rain beating down, leaving no food.
4 ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തെ ഉപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നവർ ദുഷ്ടനെ പ്രശംസിക്കുന്നു; ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തെ കാക്കുന്നവരോ അവരോടു എതിൎക്കുന്നു.
They who forsake instruction, praise one who is lawless, while, they who keep instruction, are at strife with them.
5 ദുഷ്ടന്മാർ ന്യായം തിരിച്ചറിയുന്നില്ല; യഹോവയെ അന്വേഷിക്കുന്നവരോ സകലവും തിരിച്ചറിയുന്നു.
Wicked men, consider not justice, but, they who seek Yahweh, consider everything.
6 തന്റെ വഴികളിൽ വക്രനായി നടക്കുന്ന ധനവാനെക്കാൾ പരമാൎത്ഥതയിൽ നടക്കുന്ന ദരിദ്രൻ ഉത്തമൻ.
Better a poor man walking in his integrity, than one who is crooked—turning two ways, though, he, be rich.
7 ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തെ പ്രമാണിക്കുന്നവൻ ബുദ്ധിയുള്ള മകൻ; അതിഭക്ഷകന്മാൎക്കു സഖിയായവനോ അപ്പനെ അപമാനിക്കുന്നു.
He that keepeth instruction, is a son with discernment, but, a companion of squanderers, bringeth shame to his father.
8 പലിശയും ലാഭവും വാങ്ങി സമ്പത്തു വൎദ്ധിപ്പിക്കുന്നവൻ അഗതികളോടു കൃപാലുവായവന്നു വേണ്ടി അതു ശേഖരിക്കുന്നു.
He that increaseth his substance by interest and profit, for one ready to favour the poor, doth gather it.
9 ന്യായപ്രമാണം കേൾക്കാതെ ചെവി തിരിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞാൽ അവന്റെ പ്രാൎത്ഥനതന്നേയും വെറുപ്പാകുന്നു.
He that turneth away his ear from hearing instruction, even his prayer, is an abomination.
10 നേരുള്ളവരെ ദുൎമ്മാൎഗ്ഗത്തിലേക്കു തെറ്റിക്കുന്നവൻ താൻ കുഴിച്ച കുഴിയിൽ തന്നേ വീഴും; നിഷ്കളങ്കന്മാരോ നന്മ അവകാശമാക്കും.
He that misguideth the upright into a hurtful way! into his own pit, he himself, shall fall, but, men of integrity, shall inherit good.
11 ധനവാൻ തനിക്കുതന്നേ ജ്ഞാനിയായി തോന്നുന്നു; ബുദ്ധിയുള്ള അഗതിയോ അവനെ ശോധന ചെയ്യുന്നു.
Wise in his own eyes, is the man that is rich, but, a poor man of discernment, searcheth him out.
12 നീതിമാന്മാർ ജയഘോഷം കഴിക്കുമ്പോൾ മഹോത്സവം; ദുഷ്ടന്മാർ ഉയൎന്നുവരുമ്പോഴോ ആളുകൾ ഒളിച്ചുകൊള്ളുന്നു.
In the exulting of the righteous, there is great glorying, but, when the lawless arise, a man must be sought for.
13 തന്റെ ലംഘനങ്ങളെ മറെക്കുന്നവന്നു ശുഭം വരികയില്ല; അവയെ ഏറ്റുപറഞ്ഞു ഉപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നവന്നോ കരുണ ലഭിക്കും.
He that covereth his transgressions, shall not prosper, but, he that confesseth and forsaketh, shall find compassion.
14 എപ്പോഴും ഭയത്തോടിരിക്കുന്ന മനുഷ്യൻ ഭാഗ്യവാൻ; ഹൃദയത്തെ കഠിനമാക്കുന്നവനോ അനൎത്ഥത്തിൽ അകപ്പെടും.
How happy the man who is ever circumspect, whereas, he that hardeneth his heart, shall fall into calamity.
15 അഗതികളിൽ കൎത്തൃത്വം നടത്തുന്ന ദുഷ്ടൻ ഗൎജ്ജിക്കുന്ന സിംഹത്തിന്നും ഇരതേടി നടക്കുന്ന കരടിക്കും തുല്യൻ.
A growling lion, and a ranging bear, is a lawless ruler, over a poor people.
16 ബുദ്ധിഹീനനായ പ്രഭു മഹാ പീഡകനും ആകുന്നു; ദ്രവ്യാഗ്രഹം വെറുക്കുന്നവനോ ദീൎഘായുസ്സോടെ ഇരിക്കും.
A leader, may lack intelligence, yet abound in oppressions, The hater of greed, shall lengthen out days.
17 രക്തപാതകഭാരം ചുമക്കുന്നവൻ കുഴിയിലേക്കു ബദ്ധപ്പെടും; അവനെ ആരും തടുക്കരുതു.
A man oppressed with a person’s blood, unto a pit, shall flee, let them not hold him back.
18 നിഷ്കളങ്കനായി നടക്കുന്നവൻ രക്ഷിക്കപ്പെടും; നടപ്പിൽ വക്രതയുള്ളവനോ പെട്ടെന്നു വീഴും.
He that walketh with integrity, shall be saved, but, he that is crooked, turning two ways, shall fall in one.
19 നിലം കൃഷിചെയ്യുന്നവന്നു ആഹാരം സമൃദ്ധിയായി കിട്ടും; നിസ്സാരന്മാരെ പിൻചെല്ലുന്നവനോ വേണ്ടുവോളം ദാരിദ്ൎയ്യം അനുഭവിക്കും.
He that tilleth his ground, shall have plenty of bread, but, he that pursueth empty-heads, shall have plenty of poverty.
20 വിശ്വസ്തപുരുഷൻ അനുഗ്രഹസമ്പൂൎണ്ണൻ; ധനവാനാകേണ്ടതിന്നു ബദ്ധപ്പെടുന്നവന്നോ ശിക്ഷ വരാതിരിക്കയില്ല.
A man of fidelity, aboundeth in blessings, but, one hasting to be rich, shall not be held innocent.
21 മുഖദാക്ഷിണ്യം കാണിക്കുന്നതു നന്നല്ല; ഒരു കഷണം അപ്പത്തിന്നായും മനുഷ്യൻ അന്യായം ചെയ്യും.
To take note of faces [in judgment], is not good, and, for a bit of bread, a man will transgress.
22 കണ്ണുകടിയുള്ളവൻ ധനവാനാകുവാൻ ബദ്ധപ്പെടുന്നു; ബുദ്ധിമുട്ടു വരുമെന്നു അവൻ അറിയുന്നതുമില്ല.
A man, hasting to be rich, hath an evil eye, and knoweth not when want may overtake him.
23 ചക്കരവാക്കു പറയുന്നവനെക്കാൾ ശാസിക്കുന്നവന്നു പിന്നീടു പ്രീതി ലഭിക്കും.
He that reproveth a man, shall, afterwards, find more, favour, than he that useth a flattering tongue.
24 അപ്പനോടോ അമ്മയോടോ പിടിച്ചുപറിച്ചിട്ടു അതു അക്രമമല്ല എന്നു പറയുന്നവൻ നാശകന്റെ സഖി.
He that robbeth his father or his mother, and saith, It is no transgression, companion, is he to one who wasteth.
25 അത്യാഗ്രഹമുള്ളവൻ വഴക്കുണ്ടാക്കുന്നു; യഹോവയിൽ ആശ്രയിക്കുന്നവനോ പുഷ്ടി പ്രാപിക്കും.
The ambitious in soul, stirreth up strife, but, he that trusteth in Yahweh, shall be enriched.
26 സ്വന്തഹൃദയത്തിൽ ആശ്രയിക്കുന്നവൻ മൂഢൻ; ജ്ഞാനത്തോടെ നടക്കുന്നവനോ രക്ഷിക്കപ്പെടും.
He that trusteth his own heart, the same, is a dullard, but, he that walketh wisely, the same, shall be delivered.
27 ദരിദ്രന്നു കൊടുക്കുന്നവന്നു കുറെച്ചൽ ഉണ്ടാകയില്ല; കണ്ണു അടെച്ചുകളയുന്നവന്നോ ഏറിയൊരു ശാപം ഉണ്ടാകും.
One who giveth to the poor, shall have no want, but, he that hideth his eyes, shall receive many a curse.
28 ദുഷ്ടന്മാർ ഉയൎന്നുവരുമ്പോൾ ആളുകൾ ഒളിച്ചുകൊള്ളുന്നു; അവർ നശിക്കുമ്പോഴോ നീതിമാന്മാർ വൎദ്ധിക്കുന്നു.
When lawless men rise, a common man will hide himself, but, when they perish, righteous men multiply.
