സദൃശവാക്യങ്ങൾ 21

1 രാജാവിന്റെ ഹൃദയം യഹോവയുടെ കയ്യിൽ നീൎത്തോടു കണക്കെ ഇരിക്കുന്നു; തനിക്കു ഇഷ്ടമുള്ളേടത്തേക്കൊക്കെയും അവൻ അതിനെ തിരിക്കുന്നു.

As streams of water, So is the heart of the king in the hand of the LORD; He turneth it whithersoever he will.

2 മനുഷ്യന്റെ വഴി ഒക്കെയും അവന്നു ചൊവ്വായിത്തോന്നുന്നു; യഹോവയോ ഹൃദയങ്ങളെ തൂക്കിനോക്കുന്നു.

All the ways of a man are right in his own eyes; But the LORD weigheth the heart.

3 നീതിയും ന്യായവും പ്രവൎത്തിക്കുന്നതു യഹോവെക്കു ഹനനയാഗത്തെക്കാൾ ഇഷ്ടം.

To do justice and equity Is more acceptable to the LORD than sacrifice.

4 ഗൎവ്വമുള്ള കണ്ണും അഹങ്കാരഹൃദയവും ദുഷ്ടന്മാരുടെ ദീപവും പാപം തന്നേ.

The lofty look, the proud heart, The lamp of the wicked, is ruin.

5 ഉത്സാഹിയുടെ വിചാരങ്ങൾ സമൃദ്ധിഹേതുകങ്ങൾ ആകുന്നു; ബദ്ധപ്പാടുകാരൊക്കെയും ബുദ്ധിമുട്ടിലേക്കത്രേ ബദ്ധപ്പെടുന്നതു.

The plans of the diligent tend only to plenty; But the hasty hasteneth only to want.

6 കള്ളനാവുകൊണ്ടു ധനം സമ്പാദിക്കുന്നതു പാറിപ്പോകുന്ന ആവിയാകുന്നു; അതിനെ അന്വേഷിക്കുന്നവർ മരണത്തെ അന്വേഷിക്കുന്നു.

The getting of treasures by a false tongue Is the fleeting breath of them that seek death.

7 ദുഷ്ടന്മാരുടെ സാഹസം അവൎക്കു നാശഹേതുവാകുന്നു; ന്യായം ചെയ്‌വാൻ അവൎക്കു മനസ്സില്ലല്ലോ.

The rapine of the wicked shall snatch them away, Because they refuse to do justice.

8 അകൃത്യഭാരം ചുമക്കുന്നവന്റെ വഴി വളഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു; നിൎമ്മലന്റെ പ്രവൃത്തിയോ ചൊവ്വുള്ളതു തന്നേ.

The way of the guilty man is crooked; But he that is pure, his doings are right.

9 ശണ്ഠകൂടുന്ന സ്ത്രീയോടുകൂടെ പൊതുവീട്ടിൽ പാൎക്കുന്നതിനെക്കാൾ മേൽപുരയുടെ ഒരു കോണിൽ പാൎക്കുന്നതു നല്ലതു.

Better is it to dwell in a corner of the housetop Than with a brawling woman in a large house.

10 ദുഷ്ടന്റെ മനസ്സു ദോഷത്തെ ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നു; അവന്നു കൂട്ടുകാരനോടു ദയ തോന്നുന്നതുമില്ല.

The soul of the wicked longeth to do evil; His neighbor findeth no compassion in his eyes.

11 പരിഹാസിയെ ശിക്ഷിച്ചാൽ അല്പബുദ്ധി ജ്ഞാനിയായ്തീരും; ജ്ഞാനിയെ ഉപദേശിച്ചാൽ അവൻ പരിജ്ഞാനം പ്രാപിക്കും.

When the scoffer is punished, the simple is made wise; When the wise man is taught, he receiveth knowledge.

12 നീതിമാനായവൻ ദുഷ്ടന്റെ ഭവനത്തിന്മേൽ ദൃഷ്ടിവെക്കുന്നു; ദുഷ്ടന്മാരെ നാശത്തിലേക്കു മറിച്ചുകളയുന്നു.

The righteous man hath regard to the house of the wicked; He casteth the wicked headlong into ruin.

13 എളിയവന്റെ നിലവിളിക്കു ചെവി പൊത്തിക്കളയുന്നവൻ താനും വിളിച്ചപേക്ഷിക്കും; ഉത്തരം ലഭിക്കയില്ല.

Whoso stoppeth his ears at the cry of the poor, He also shall cry aloud, but shall not be heard.

14 രഹസ്യത്തിൽ ചെയ്യുന്ന ദാനം കോപത്തെയും മടിയിൽ കൊണ്ടുവരുന്ന സമ്മാനം ഉഗ്രകോപത്തെയും ശമിപ്പിക്കുന്നു.

A gift in secret pacifieth anger; And a present in the bosom, strong wrath.

15 ന്യായം പ്രവൎത്തിക്കുന്നതു നീതിമാന്നു സന്തോഷവും ദുഷ്പ്രവൃത്തിക്കാൎക്കു ഭയങ്കരവും ആകുന്നു.

To do justice shall be joy to the righteous; But destruction is for them that do iniquity.

16 വിവേകമാൎഗ്ഗം വിട്ടുനടക്കുന്നവൻ മൃതന്മാരുടെ കൂട്ടത്തിൽ വിശ്രമിക്കും.

A man who wandereth from the way of discretion Shall rest in the assembly of the dead.

17 ഉല്ലാസപ്രിയൻ ദരിദ്രനായ്തീരും; വീഞ്ഞും തൈലവും പ്രിയപ്പെടുന്നവൻ ധനവാനാകയില്ല.

He that loveth pleasure will be a poor man; He that loveth wine and oil will not be rich.

18 ദുഷ്ടൻ നീതിമാന്നു മറുവിലയാകും; ദ്രോഹി നേരുള്ളവൎക്കു പകരമായ്തീരും.

The wicked shall be a ransom for the righteous! And in the room of the upright shall be the transgressor.

19 ശണ്ഠയും ദുശ്ശീലവുമുള്ള സ്ത്രീയോടുകൂടെ പാൎക്കുന്നതിലും നിൎജ്ജനപ്രദേശത്തു പോയി പാൎക്കുന്നതു നല്ലതു.

It is better to dwell in a desert land Than with a contentious and fretful woman.

20 ജ്ഞാനിയുടെ പാൎപ്പിടത്തിൽ വിലയേറിയ നിക്ഷേപവും തൈലവും ഉണ്ടു; മൂഢനോ അവയെ ദുൎവ്യയം ചെയ്തുകളയുന്നു.

Precious treasure and oil are in the dwelling of the wise; But the foolish man swalloweth them up.

21 നീതിയും ദയയും പിന്തുടരുന്നവൻ ജീവനും നീതിയും മാനവും കണ്ടെത്തും.

He who followeth after righteousness and mercy Shall find life, prosperity, and honor.

22 ജ്ഞാനി വീരന്മാരുടെ പട്ടണത്തിൽ കയറുകയും അതിന്റെ ആശ്രയമായ കോട്ടയെ ഇടിച്ചുകളകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു.

A wise man scaleth the city of the mighty, And bringeth down the strength in which it trusted.

23 വായും നാവും സൂക്ഷിക്കുന്നവൻ തന്റെ പ്രാണനെ കഷ്ടങ്ങളിൽനിന്നു സൂക്ഷിക്കുന്നു.

Whoso keepeth his mouth and his tongue Keepeth his soul from trouble.

24 നിഗളവും ഗൎവ്വവും ഉള്ളവന്നു പരിഹാസി എന്നു പേർ; അവൻ ഗൎവ്വത്തിന്റെ അഹങ്കാരത്തോടെ പ്രവൎത്തിക്കുന്നു.

The proud and haughty, —scoffer is his name; He acteth with haughty arrogance.

25 മടിയന്റെ കൊതി അവന്നു മരണഹേതു; വേലചെയ്‌വാൻ അവന്റെ കൈകൾ മടിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ.

The desire of the sluggard will destroy him; For his hands refuse to labor.

26 ചിലർ നിത്യം അത്യാഗ്രഹത്തോടെ ഇരിക്കുന്നു; നീതിമാനോ ലോഭിക്കാതെ കൊടുത്തുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നു.

The covetous man coveteth all the day long; But the righteous man giveth, and doth not withhold.

27 ദുഷ്ടന്മാരുടെ ഹനനയാഗം വെറുപ്പാകുന്നു; അവൻ ദുരാന്തരത്തോടെ അതു അൎപ്പിച്ചാൽ എത്ര അധികം!

The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination; How much more when he bringeth it with an evil design!

28 കള്ളസ്സാക്ഷി നശിച്ചുപോകും; ശ്രദ്ധിച്ചുകേൾക്കുന്നവന്നോ എപ്പോഴും സംസാരിക്കാം.

A false witness shall perish; But a man that hearkeneth shall speak forever.

29 ദുഷ്ടൻ മുഖധാൎഷ്ട്യം കാണിക്കുന്നു; നേരുള്ളവനോ തന്റെ വഴി നന്നാക്കുന്നു.

The wicked man hardeneth his face; But the upright directeth his way.

30 യഹോവെക്കെതിരെ ജ്ഞാനവുമില്ല, ബുദ്ധിയുമില്ല, ആലോചനയുമില്ല.

Wisdom is nothing, and understanding is nothing, And devices are nothing, against the LORD.

31 കുതിരയെ യുദ്ധദിവസത്തേക്കു ചമയിക്കുന്നു; ജയമോ യഹോവയുടെ കൈവശത്തിലിരിക്കുന്നു.

The horse is prepared for the day of battle; But victory is from the LORD.
