സദൃശവാക്യങ്ങൾ 10
1 ശലോമോന്റെ സദൃശവാക്യങ്ങൾ ജ്ഞാനമുള്ള മകൻ അപ്പനെ സന്തോഷിപ്പിക്കുന്നു; ഭോഷനായ മകൻ അമ്മെക്കു വ്യസനഹേതുവാകുന്നു.
THE PARABLE OF SALOMON. A wise sonne maketh a glad father: but a foolish sonne is an heauines to his mother.
2 ദുഷ്ടതയാൽ സമ്പാദിച്ച നിക്ഷേപങ്ങൾ ഉപകരിക്കുന്നില്ല; നീതിയോ മരണത്തിൽനിന്നു വിടുവിക്കുന്നു.
The treasures of wickednesse profite nothing: but righteousnesse deliuereth from death.
3 യഹോവ നീതിമാനെ പട്ടിണി കിടത്തുകയില്ല; ദുഷ്ടന്മാരുടെ കൊതിയോ അവൻ തള്ളിക്കളയുന്നു.
The Lord will not famish the soule of the righteous: but he casteth away the substance of the wicked.
4 മടിയുള്ള കൈകൊണ്ടു പ്രവൎത്തിക്കുന്നവൻ ദരിദ്രനായ്തീരുന്നു; ഉത്സാഹിയുടെ കയ്യോ സമ്പത്തുണ്ടാക്കുന്നു.
A slouthfull hand maketh poore: but the hand of the diligent maketh riche.
5 വേനല്ക്കാലത്തു ശേഖരിച്ചുവെക്കുന്നവൻ ബുദ്ധിമാൻ; കൊയ്ത്തുകാലത്തു ഉറങ്ങുന്നവനോ നാണംകെട്ടവൻ.
He that gathereth in sommer, is the sonne of wisdome: but he that sleepeth in haruest, is the sonne of confusion.
6 നീതിമാന്റെ ശിരസ്സിന്മേൽ അനുഗ്രഹങ്ങൾ വരുന്നു; എന്നാൽ ദുഷ്ടന്മാരുടെ വായെ സാഹസംമൂടുന്നു.
Blessings are vpon the head of the righteous: but iniquitie shall couer the mouth of the wicked.
7 നീതിമാന്റെ ഓൎമ്മ അനുഗ്രഹിക്കപ്പെട്ടതു; ദുഷ്ടന്മാരുടെ പേരോ കെട്ടുപോകും.
The memoriall of the iust shalbe blessed: but the name of the wicked shall rotte.
8 ജ്ഞാനഹൃദയൻ കല്പനകളെ കൈക്കൊള്ളുന്നു; വിടുവായനായ ഭോഷനോ വീണുപോകും.
The wise in heart will receiue commandements: but the foolish in talke shalbe beaten.
9 നേരായി നടക്കുന്നവൻ നിൎഭയമായി നടക്കുന്നു; നടപ്പിൽ വക്രതയുള്ളവനോ വെളിപ്പെട്ടുവരും.
He that walketh vprightly, walketh boldely: but he that peruerteth his wayes, shalbe knowen.
10 കണ്ണുകൊണ്ടു ആംഗ്യം കാട്ടുന്നവൻ ദുഃഖം വരുത്തുന്നു; തുറന്നു ശാസിക്കുന്നവനോ സമാധാനം ഉണ്ടാക്കുന്നു.
He that winketh with the eye, worketh sorowe, and he yet is foolish in talke, shalbe beaten.
11 നീതിമാന്റെ വായ് ജീവന്റെ ഉറവാകുന്നു. എന്നാൽ ദുഷ്ടന്മാരുടെ വായെ സാഹസംമൂടുന്നു.
The mouth of a righteous man is a welspring of life: but iniquitie couereth the mouth of the wicked.
12 പക വഴക്കുകൾക്കു കാരണം ആകുന്നു; സ്നേഹമോ, സകലലംഘനങ്ങളെയും മൂടുന്നു.
Hatred stirreth vp contentions: but loue couereth all trespasses.
13 വിവേകിയുടെ അധരങ്ങളിൽ ജ്ഞാനം ഉണ്ടു; ബുദ്ധിഹീനന്റെ മുതുകിന്നോ വടി കൊള്ളാം.
In the lippes of him that hath vnderstanding wisdome is founde, and a rod shalbe for the backe of him that is destitute of wisedome.
14 ജ്ഞാനികൾ പരിജ്ഞാനം അടക്കിവെക്കുന്നു; ഭോഷന്റെ വായോ അടുത്തിരിക്കുന്ന നാശം.
Wise men lay vp knowledge: but ye mouth of the foole is a present destruction.
15 ധനവാന്റെ സമ്പത്തു, അവന്നു ഉറപ്പുള്ളോരു പട്ടണം; എളിയവരുടെ നാശമോ അവരുടെ ദാരിദ്ൎയ്യം തന്നേ.
The riche mans goodes are his strong citie: but the feare of the needie is their pouertie.
16 നീതിമാന്റെ സമ്പാദ്യം ജീവഹേതുവും ദുഷ്ടന്റെ ആദായം പാപകാരണവും ആകുന്നു.
The labour of the righteous tendeth to life: but the reuenues of the wicked to sinne.
17 പ്രബോധനം പ്രമാണിക്കുന്നവൻ ജീവമാൎഗ്ഗത്തിൽ ഇരിക്കുന്നു; ശാസന ത്യജിക്കുന്നവനോ ഉഴന്നുനടക്കുന്നു;
He that regardeth instruction, is in the way of life: but he that refuseth correction, goeth out of the way.
18 പക മറെച്ചുവെക്കുന്നവൻ പൊളിവായൻ; ഏഷണി പറയുന്നവൻ ഭോഷൻ.
He that dissembleth hatred with lying lips, and he that inuenteth slaunder, is a foole.
19 വാക്കു പെരുകിയാൽ ലംഘനം ഇല്ലാതിരിക്കയില്ല; അധരങ്ങളെ അടക്കുന്നവനോ ബുദ്ധിമാൻ.
In many wordes there cannot want iniquitie: but he that refrayneth his lippes, is wise.
20 നീതിമാന്റെ നാവു മേത്തരമായ വെള്ളി; ദുഷ്ടന്മാരുടെ ഹൃദയമോ നിസ്സാരം.
The tongue of the iust man is as fined siluer: but the heart of the wicked is litle worth.
21 നീതിമാന്റെ അധരങ്ങൾ പലരെയും പോഷിപ്പിക്കും; ഭോഷന്മാരോ ബുദ്ധിഹീനതയാൽ മരിക്കുന്നു.
The lippes of the righteous doe feede many: but fooles shall die for want of wisedome.
22 യഹോവയുടെ അനുഗ്രഹത്താൽ സമ്പത്തുണ്ടാകുന്നു; അദ്ധ്വാനത്താൽ അതിനോടു ഒന്നും കൂടുന്നില്ല.
The blessing of the Lord, it maketh riche, and he doeth adde no sorowes with it.
23 ദോഷം ചെയ്യുന്നതു ഭോഷന്നു കളിയാകുന്നു; ജ്ഞാനം വിവേകിക്കു അങ്ങനെ തന്നേ.
It is as a pastime to a foole to doe wickedly: but wisedome is vnderstanding to a man.
24 ദുഷ്ടൻ പേടിക്കുന്നതു തന്നേ അവന്നു ഭവിക്കും; നീതിമാന്മാരുടെ ആഗ്രഹമോ സാധിക്കും.
That which the wicked feareth, shall come vpon him: but God wil graunt the desire of the righteous.
25 ചുഴലിക്കാറ്റു കടന്നുപോകുമ്പോൾ ദുഷ്ടൻ ഇല്ലാതെയായി; നീതിമാനോ ശാശ്വതമായ അടിസ്ഥാനം ഉള്ളവൻ.
As the whirlewinde passeth, so is the wicked no more: but the righteous is as an euerlasting foundation.
26 ചൊറുക്ക പല്ലിന്നും പുക കണ്ണിന്നും ആകുന്നതുപോലെ മടിയൻ തന്നേ അയക്കുന്നവൎക്കു ആകുന്നു.
As vineger is to the teeth, and as smoke to the eyes, so is the slouthful to them that send him.
27 യഹോവാഭക്തി ആയുസ്സിനെ ദീൎഘമാക്കുന്നു; ദുഷ്ടന്മാരുടെ സംവത്സരങ്ങളോ കുറഞ്ഞുപോകും.
The feare of the Lord increaseth the dayes: but the yeeres of the wicked shalbe diminished.
28 നീതിമാന്മാരുടെ പ്രത്യാശ സന്തോഷമാകുന്നു; ദുഷ്ടന്മാരുടെ പ്രതീക്ഷെക്കോ ഭംഗം വരും.
The patient abiding of the righteous shall be gladnesse: but the hope of the wicked shall perish.
29 യഹോവയുടെ വഴി നേരുള്ളവന്നു ഒരു ദുൎഗ്ഗം; ദുഷ്പ്രവൃത്തിക്കാൎക്കോ അതു നാശകരം.
The way of the Lord is strength to the vpright man: but feare shall be for the workers of iniquitie.
30 നീതിമാൻ ഒരുനാളും കുലുങ്ങിപ്പോകയില്ല; ദുഷ്ടന്മാരോ ദേശത്തു വസിക്കയില്ല.
The righteous shall neuer be remooued: but the wicked shall not dwell in the land.
31 നീതിമാന്റെ വായ് ജ്ഞാനം മുളെപ്പിക്കുന്നു; വക്രതയുള്ള നാവോ ഛേദിക്കപ്പെടും.
The mouth of the iust shall be fruitfull in wisdome: but the tongue of the froward shall be cut out.
32 നീതിമാന്റെ അധരങ്ങൾ പ്രസാദകരമായതു അറിയുന്നു; ദുഷ്ടന്മാരുടെ വായോ വക്രതയുള്ളതാകുന്നു.
The lips of the righteous knowe what is acceptable: but the mouth of the wicked speaketh froward things.
