1 ബാധ കഴിഞ്ഞശേഷം യഹോവ മോശെയോടും പുരോഹിതനായ അഹരോന്റെ മകൻ എലെയാസാരിനോടും:

And it comes to pass, after the plague, that YHWH speaks to Moses and to Eleazar son of Aaron the priest, saying,

2 യിസ്രായേൽമക്കളുടെ സൎവ്വസഭയെയും ഇരുപതു വയസ്സുമുതൽ മേലോട്ടു യുദ്ധത്തിന്നുപ്രാപ്തിയുള്ള എല്ലാവരെയും ഗോത്രം ഗോത്രമായി എണ്ണി തുക എടുപ്പിൻ എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു.

“Take a census of all the congregation of the sons of Israel, from a son of twenty years and upward, by the house of their fathers, everyone going out to the host in Israel.”

3 അങ്ങനെ മോശെയും പുരോഹിതനായ എലെയാസാരും യെരീഹോവിന്റെ സമീപത്തു യോൎദ്ദാന്നരികെയുള്ള മോവാബ് സമഭൂമിയിൽവെച്ചു അവരോടു:

And Moses speaks—Eleazar the priest also—with them in the plains of Moab by the Jordan, [near] Jericho, saying,

4 യഹോവ മോശെയോടും മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തുനിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ട യിസ്രായേൽമക്കളോടും കല്പിച്ചതുപോലെ ഇരുപതു വയസ്സുമുതൽ മേലോട്ടുള്ളവരുടെ തുകയെടുപ്പിൻ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

“From a son of twenty years and upward,” as YHWH has commanded Moses and the sons of Israel who are coming out from the land of Egypt.

5 യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ആദ്യജാതൻ രൂബേൻ; രൂബേന്റെ പുത്രന്മാർ: ഹനോക്കിൽനിന്നു ഹനോക്ക്യകുടുംബം; പല്ലൂവിൽനിന്നു പല്ലൂവ്യകുടുംബം;

Reuben, firstborn of Israel—sons of Reuben: of Enoch [is] the family of the Enochite; of Pallu the family of the Palluite;

6 ഹെസ്രോനിൽനിന്നു ഹെസ്രോന്യകുടുംബം; കൎമ്മിയിൽനിന്നു കൎമ്മ്യകുടുംബം.

of Hezron the family of the Hezronite; of Carmi the family of the Carmite.

7 ഇവയാകുന്നു രൂബേന്യകുടുംബങ്ങൾ; അവരിൽ എണ്ണപ്പെട്ടവർ നാല്പത്തിമൂവായിരത്തെഴുനൂറ്റി മുപ്പതുപേർ.

These [are] families of the Reubenite, and their numbered ones are forty-three thousand and seven hundred and thirty.

8 പല്ലൂവിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാർ: എലീയാബ്.

And the son of Pallu [is] Eliab;

9 എലീയാബിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാർ: നെമൂവേൽ, ദാഥാൻ, അബീരാം. യഹോവെക്കു വിരോധമായി കലഹിച്ചപ്പോൾ കോരഹിന്റെ കൂട്ടത്തിൽ മോശെക്കും അഹരോന്നും വിരോധമായി കലഹിച്ച സംഘസദസ്യന്മാരായ ദാഥാനും അബീരാമും ഇവർ തന്നേ;

and the sons of Eliab [are] Nemuel, and Dathan, and Abiram; this [is that] Dathan and Abiram, called ones of the congregation, who have striven against Moses and against Aaron in the congregation of Korah, in their striving against YHWH,

and the earth opens her mouth, and swallows them and Korah, in the death of the congregation, in the fire consuming the two hundred and fifty men, and they become a sign;

11 എന്നാൽ കോരഹിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാർ മരിച്ചില്ല.

but the sons of Korah did not die.

12 ശിമെയോന്റെ പുത്രന്മാർ കുടുംബംകുടുംബമായി ആരെന്നാൽ: നെമൂവേലിൽനിന്നു നെമൂവേല്യകുടുംബം; യാമീനിൽനിന്നു യാമീന്യകുടുംബം; യാഖീനിൽനിന്നു യാഖീന്യകുടുംബം;

Sons of Simeon by their families: of Nemuel [is] the family of the Nemuelite; of Jamin the family of the Jaminite; of Jachin the family of the Jachinite;

13 സേരഹിൽനിന്നു സേരഹ്യകുടുംബം; ശാവൂലിൽനിന്നു ശാവൂല്യകുടുംബം.

of Zerah the family of the Zerahite; of Shaul the family of the Shaulite.

14 ശിമെയോന്യകുടുംബങ്ങളായ ഇവർ ഇരുപത്തീരായിരത്തിരുനൂറു പേർ.

These [are] families of the Simeonite—twenty-two thousand and two hundred.

15 ഗാദിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാർ കുടുംബംകുടുംബമായി ആരെന്നാൽ: സെഫോനിൽനിന്നു സെഫോന്യകുടുംബം; ഹഗ്ഗിയിൽനിന്നു ഹഗ്ഗീയകുടുംബം; ശൂനിയിൽനിന്നു ശൂനീയകുടുംബം;

Sons of Gad by their families: of Zephon [is] the family of the Zephonite; of Haggi the family of the Haggite; of Shuni the family of the Shunite;

16 ഒസ്നിയിൽനിന്നു ഒസ്നീയകുടുംബം; ഏരിയിൽനിന്നു ഏൎയ്യകുടുംബം;

of Ozni the family of the Oznite; of Eri the family of the Erite:

17 അരോദിൽനിന്നു അരോദ്യകുടുംബം; അരേലിയിൽനിന്നു അരേല്യകുടുംബം.

of Arod the family of the Arodite; of Areli the family of the Arelite.

18 അവരിൽ എണ്ണപ്പെട്ടവരായി ഗാദ്പുത്രന്മാരുടെ കുടുംബങ്ങളായ ഇവർ നാല്പതിനായിരത്തഞ്ഞൂറുപേർ.

These [are] families of the sons of Gad by their numbered ones—forty thousand and five hundred.

19 യെഹൂദയുടെ പുത്രന്മാർ ഏരും ഓനാനും ആയിരുന്നു; ഏരും ഒനാനും കനാൻദേശത്തുവെച്ചു മരിച്ചുപോയി.

Sons of Judah [are] Er and Onan; and Er dies—Onan also—in the land of Canaan.

20 യെഹൂദയുടെ പുത്രന്മാർ കുടുംബംകുടുംബമായി ആരെന്നാൽ: ശേലയിൽനിന്നു ശേലാന്യകുടുംബം; ഫേരെസിൽനിന്നു ഫേരെസ്യകുടുംബം; സേരഹിൽനിന്നു സേരഹ്യകുടുംബം.

And sons of Judah by their families are: of Shelah the family of the Shelanite; of Perez the family of the Perezite; of Zerah the family of the Zerahite;

21 ഫേരെസിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാർ: ഹെസ്രോനിൽനിന്നു ഹെസ്രോന്യകുടുംബം; ഹാമൂലിൽനിന്നു ഹാമൂല്യകുടുംബം.

and sons of Perez are: of Hezron the family of the Hezronite; of Hamul the family of the Hamulite.

22 അവരിൽ എണ്ണപ്പെട്ടവരായി യെഹൂദാകുടുംബങ്ങളായ ഇവർ എഴുപത്താറായിരത്തഞ്ഞൂറുപേർ.

These [are] families of Judah by their numbered ones—seventy-six thousand and five hundred.

23 യിസ്സാഖാരിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാർ കുടുംബംകുടുംബമായി ആരെന്നാൽ: തോലാവിൽ നിന്നു തോലാവ്യകുടുംബം; പൂവയിൽനിന്നു പൂവ്യകുടുംബം;

Sons of Issachar by their families: of Tola [is] the family of the Tolaite; of Pua the family of the Punite;

24 യാശൂബിൽനിന്നു യാശൂബ്യകുടുംബം; ശിമ്രോനിൽനിന്നു ശിമ്രോന്യകുടുംബം.

of Jashub the family of the Jashubite; of Shimron the family of the Shimronite.

25 അവരിൽ എണ്ണപ്പെട്ടവരായി യിസ്സാഖാർകുടുംബങ്ങളായ ഇവർ അറുപത്തുനാലായിരത്തി മുന്നൂറുപേർ.

These [are] families of Issachar by their numbered ones—sixty-four thousand and three hundred.

26 സെബൂലൂന്റെ പുത്രന്മാർ കുടുംബംകുടുംബമായി ആരെന്നാൽ: സേരെദിൽനിന്നു സേരെദ്യകുടുംബം; ഏലോനിൽനിന്നു ഏലോന്യകുടുംബം; യഹ്ലേലിൽനിന്നു യഹ്ലേല്യകുടുംബം.

Sons of Zebulun by their families: of Sered [is] the family of the Sardite; of Elon the family of the Elonite; of Jahleel the family of the Jahleelite.

27 അവരിൽ എണ്ണപ്പെട്ടവരായി സെബൂലൂന്യകുടുംബങ്ങളായ ഇവർ അറുപതിനായിരത്തഞ്ഞൂറുപേർ.

These [are] families of the Zebulunite by their numbered ones—sixty thousand and five hundred.

28 യോസേഫിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാർ കുടുംബംകുടുംബമായി ആരെന്നാൽ: മനശ്ശെയും എഫ്രയീമും.

Sons of Joseph by their families [are] Manasseh and Ephraim.

29 മനശ്ശെയുടെ പുത്രന്മാർ: മാഖീരിൽനിന്നു മാഖീൎയ്യകുടുംബം; മാഖീർ ഗിലെയാദിനെ ജനിപ്പിച്ചു; ഗിലെയാദിൽനിന്നു ഗിലെയാദ്യകുടുംബം.

Sons of Manasseh: of Machir [is] the family of the Machirite; and Machir has begotten Gilead; of Gilead [is] the family of the Gileadite.

30 ഗിലെയാദിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാർ ആരെന്നാൽ: ഈയേസെരിൽ നിന്നു ഈയേസെൎയ്യകുടുംബം; ഹേലെക്കിൽനിന്നു ഹേലെക്ക്യകുടുംബം.

These [are] sons of Gilead: of Jeezer [is] the family of the Jeezerite; of Helek the family of the Helekite;

31 അസ്രീയേലിൽനിന്നു അസ്രീയേല്യകുടുംബം; ശേഖെമിൽനിന്നു ശേഖെമ്യകുടുംബം;

and of Asriel the family of the Asrielite; and of Shechem the family of the Shechemite;

32 ശെമീദാവിൽനിന്നു ശെമീദാവ്യകുടുംബം; ഹേഫെരിൽനിന്നു ഹേഫെൎയ്യകുടുംബം.

and of Shemida the family of the Shemidaite; and of Hepher the family of the Hepherite.

33 ഹേഫെരിന്റെ മകനായ സെലോഫഹാദിന്നു പുത്രിമാർ അല്ലാതെ പുത്രന്മാർ ഉണ്ടായില്ല; സെലോഫഹാദിന്റെ പുത്രിമാർ മഹ്ലാ, നോവാ, ഹൊഗ്ല, മിൽക്കാ, തിർസാ എന്നിവരായിരുന്നു.

And Zelophehad son of Hepher had no sons, but [only] daughters, and the names of the daughters of Zelophehad [are] Mahlah, and Noah, Hoglah, Milcah, and Tirzah.

34 അവരിൽ എണ്ണപ്പെട്ടവരായി മനശ്ശെകുടുംബങ്ങളായ ഇവർ അമ്പത്തീരായിരത്തെഴുനൂറു പേർ.

These [are] families of Manasseh, and their numbered ones [are] fifty-two thousand and seven hundred.

35 എഫ്രയീമിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാർ കുടുംബംകുടുംബമായി ആരെന്നാൽ: ശൂഥേലഹിൽനിന്നു ശൂഥേലഹ്യകുടുംബം; ബേഖെരിൽനിന്നു ബേഖെൎയ്യകുടുംബം; തഹനിൽനിന്നു തഹന്യകുടുംബം,

These [are] sons of Ephraim by their families: of Shuthelah [is] the family of the Shuthelhite; of Becher the family of the Bachrite; of Tahan the family of the Tahanite.

36 ശൂഥേലഹിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാർ ആരെന്നാൽ: ഏരാനിൽനിന്നു ഏരാന്യകടുംബം.

And these [are] sons of Shuthelah: of Eran the family of the Eranite.

37 അവരിൽ എണ്ണപ്പെട്ടവരായി എഫ്രയീമ്യകുടുംബങ്ങളായ ഇവർ മുപ്പത്തീരായിരത്തഞ്ഞൂറുപേർ. ഇവർ കുടുംബംകുടുംബമായി യോസേഫിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാർ.

These [are] families of the sons of Ephraim by their numbered ones—thirty-two thousand and five hundred. These [are] sons of Joseph by their families.

38 ബെന്യാമീന്റെ പുത്രന്മാർ കുടുംബംകുടുംബമായി ആരെന്നാൽ: ബേലയിൽനിന്നു ബേലാവ്യകുടുംബം; അസ്ബേലിൽനിന്നു അസ്ബേല്യകുടുംബം; അഹീരാമിൽനിന്നു അഹീരാമ്യകുടുംബം;

Sons of Benjamin by their families: of Bela [is] the family of the Belaite; of Ashbel the family of the Ashbelite; of Ahiram the family of the Ahiramite;

39 ശെഫൂമിൽനിന്നു ശെഫൂമ്യകുടുംബം; ഹൂഫാമിൽനിന്നു ഹൂഫാമ്യകുടുംബം.

of Shupham the family of the Shuphamite; of Hupham the family of the Huphamite.

40 ബേലിയുടെ പുത്രന്മാർ അൎദ്ദും നാമാനും ആയിരുന്നു; അൎദ്ദിൽനിന്നു അൎദ്ദ്യകുടുംബം; നാമാനിൽനിന്നു നാമാന്യകുടുംബം.

And sons of Bela are Ard and Naaman: [of Ard is] the family of the Ardite; of Naaman the family of the Naamite.

41 ഇവർ കുടുംബംകുടുംബമായി ബെന്യാമീന്റെ പുത്രന്മാർ; അവരിൽ എണ്ണപ്പെട്ടവർ നാല്പത്തയ്യായിരത്തറുനൂറുപേർ.

These [are] sons of Benjamin by their families, and their numbered ones [are] forty-five thousand and six hundred.

42 ദാന്റെ പുത്രന്മാർ കുടുംബംകുടുംബമായി ആരെന്നാൽ: ശൂഹാമിൽനിന്നു ശൂഹാമ്യ കുടുംബം; ഇവർ കുടുംബംകുടുംബമായി ദാന്യകുടുംബങ്ങൾ ആകുന്നു.

These [are] sons of Dan by their families: of Shuham [is] the family of the Shuhamite; these [are] families of Dan by their families;

43 ശൂഹാമ്യകുടുംബങ്ങളിൽ എണ്ണപ്പെട്ടവർ എല്ലാംകൂടി അറുപത്തുനാലായിരത്തി നാനൂറുപേർ.

all the families of the Shuhamite by their numbered ones—sixty-four thousand and four hundred.

44 ആശേരിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാർ കുടുംബംകുടുംബമായി ആരെന്നാൽ: യിമ്നയിൽനിന്നു യിമ്നീയകുടുംബം; യിശ്വയിൽനിന്നു യിശ്വീയ കുടുംബം; ബെരീയാവിൽനിന്നു ബെരീയാവ്യകുടുംബം.

Sons of Asher by their families: of Jimna [is] the family of the Jimnite; of Jesui the family of the Jesuite; of Beriah the family of the Beriite.

45 ബെരീയാവിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരുടെ കുടുംബംങ്ങൾ ആരെന്നാൽ: ഹേബെരിൽനിന്നു ഹേബെൎയ്യകുടുംബം; മൽക്കീയേലിൽനിന്നു മൽക്കീയേല്യകുടുംബം.

Of sons of Beriah: of Heber [is] the family of the Heberite; of Malchiel the family of the Malchielite.

46 ആശേരിന്റെ പുത്രിക്കു സാറാ എന്നു പേർ.

And the name of the daughter of Asher [is] Sarah.

47 ഇവർ ആശേർപുത്രന്മാരുടെ കുടുംബങ്ങൾ. അവരിൽ എണ്ണപ്പെട്ടവർ അമ്പത്തുമൂവായിരത്തി നാനൂറുപേർ.

These [are] families of the sons of Asher by their numbered ones—fifty-three thousand and four hundred.

48 നഫ്താലിയുടെ പുത്രന്മാർ കുടുംബംകുടുംബമായി ആരെന്നാൽ: യഹ്സേലിൽനിന്നു യഹ്സേല്യകുടുംബം; ഗൂനിയിൽനിന്നു ഗൂന്യകുടുംബം;

Sons of Naphtali by their families: of Jahzeel [is] the family of the Jahzeelite; of Guni the family of the Gunite;

49 യേസെരിൽനിന്നു യേസെൎയ്യകുടുംബം. ശില്ലോമിൽനിന്നു ശില്ലോമ്യകുടുംബം.

of Jezer the family of the Jezerite; of Shillem the family of the Shillemite.

50 ഇവർ കുടുംബംകുടുംബമായി നഫ്താലികുടുംബങ്ങൾ ആകുന്നു; അവരിൽ എണ്ണപ്പെട്ടവർ നാല്പത്തയ്യായിരത്തി നാനൂറുപേർ.

These [are] families of Naphtali by their families, and their numbered ones [are] forty-five thousand and four hundred.

51 യിസ്രായേൽമക്കളിൽ എണ്ണപ്പെട്ട ഇവർ ആറു ലക്ഷത്തോരായിരത്തെഴുനൂറ്റി മുപ്പതുപേർ.

These [are] numbered ones of the sons of Israel—six hundred thousand and one thousand seven hundred and thirty.

52 പിന്നെ യഹോവ മോശെയോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതു:

And YHWH speaks to Moses, saying,

53 ഇവൎക്കു ആളെണ്ണത്തിന്നു ഒത്തവണ്ണം ദേശത്തെ അവകാശമായി വിഭാഗിച്ചു കൊടുക്കേണം.

“The land is apportioned to these by inheritance, by the number of names;

54 ആളേറെയുള്ളവൎക്കു അവകാശം ഏറെയും ആൾ കുറവുള്ളവൎക്കു അവകാശം കുറെച്ചും കൊടുക്കേണം; ഓരോരുത്തന്നു അവനവന്റെ ആളെണ്ണത്തിന്നു ഒത്തവണ്ണം അവകാശം കൊടുക്കേണം.

to the many you increase their inheritance, and to the few you diminish their inheritance; each is given his inheritance according to his numbered ones.

55 ദേശത്തെ ചീട്ടിട്ടു വിഭാഗിക്കേണം; അതതു പിതൃഗോത്രത്തിന്റെ പേരിന്നൊത്തവണ്ണം അവൎക്കു അവകാശം ലഭിക്കേണം.

Surely the land is apportioned by lot; they inherit by the names of the tribes of their fathers;

56 ആൾ ഏറെയുള്ളവൎക്കും കുറെയുള്ളവൎക്കും അവകാശം ചീട്ടിട്ടു വിഭാഗിക്കേണം.

their inheritance is apportioned according to the lot between many and few.”

57 ലേവ്യരിൽ എണ്ണപ്പെട്ടവർ കുടുംബംകുടുംബമായി ആരെന്നാൽ: ഗേൎശോനിൽനിന്നു ഗേൎശോന്യകുടുംബം; കെഹാത്തിൽനിന്നു കെഹാത്യകുടുംബം; മെരാരിയിൽനിന്നു മെരാൎയ്യകുടുംബം.

And these [are] numbered ones of the Levite by their families: of Gershon [is] the family of the Gershonite; of Kohath the family of the Kohathite; of Merari the family of the Merarite.

58 ലേവ്യകുടുംബങ്ങൾ ആവിതു: ലിബ്നീയകുടുംബം; ഹെബ്രോന്യകുടുംബം; മഹ്ലീയകുടുംബം; മൂശ്യകുടുംബം; കോരഹ്യകുടുംബം. കെഹാത്ത് അമ്രാമിനെ ജനിപ്പിച്ചു.

These [are] families of the Levite: the family of the Libnite, the family of the Hebronite, the family of the Mahlite, the family of the Mushite, the family of the Korathite. And Kohath has begotten Amram,

59 അമ്രാമിന്റെ ഭാൎയ്യക്കു യോഖേബേദ് എന്നു പേർ; അവൾ മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തുവെച്ചു ലേവിക്കു ജനിച്ച മകൾ; അവൾ അമ്രാമിന്നു അഹരോനെയും മോശെയെയും അവരുടെ സഹോദരിയായ മിൎയ്യാമിനെയും പ്രസവിച്ചു.

and the name of Amram’s wife is Jochebed, daughter of Levi, whom has been born to Levi in Egypt; and she bears to Amram Aaron, and Moses, and their sister Miriam.

60 അഹരോന്നു നാദാബ്, അബീഹൂ, എലെയാസാർ, ഈഥാമാർ എന്നിവർ ജനിച്ചു.

And born to Aaron [are] Nadab, and Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar;

61 എന്നാൽ നാദാബും അബീഹൂവും യഹോവയുടെ സന്നിധിയിൽ അന്യാഗ്നി കത്തിച്ചു മരിച്ചുപോയി.

and Nadab dies—Abihu also—in their bringing strange fire near before YHWH.

62 ഒരു മാസം പ്രായംമുതൽ മേലോട്ടു അവരിൽ എണ്ണപ്പെട്ട ആണുങ്ങൾ ആകെ ഇരുപത്തുമൂവായിരം പേർ; യിസ്രായേൽമക്കളുടെ ഇടയിൽ അവൎക്കു അവകാശം കൊടുക്കായ്കകൊണ്ടു അവരെ യിസ്രായേൽമക്കളുടെ കൂട്ടത്തിൽ എണ്ണിയില്ല.

And their numbered ones are twenty-three thousand, every male from a son of a month and upwards, for they have not numbered themselves in the midst of the sons of Israel, because an inheritance has not been given to them in the midst of the sons of Israel.

63 യെരീഹോവിന്റെ സമീപത്തു യോൎദ്ദാന്നരികെ മോവാബ്സമഭൂമിയിൽവെച്ചു യിസ്രായേൽമക്കളെ എണ്ണിയപ്പോൾ മോശെയും പുരോഹിതനായ എലെയാസാരും എണ്ണിയവർ ഇവർ തന്നേ.

These [are] those numbered by Moses and Eleazar the priest, who have numbered the sons of Israel in the plains of Moab by the Jordan, [near] Jericho;

64 എന്നാൽ മോശെയും അഹരോൻപുരോഹിതനും സീനായിമരുഭൂമിയിൽവെച്ചു യിസ്രായേൽമക്കളെ എണ്ണിയപ്പോൾ അവർ എണ്ണിയവരിൽ ഒരുത്തനും ഇവരുടെ കൂട്ടത്തിൽ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നില്ല.

and among these there has not been a man of those numbered by Moses and Aaron the priest, who numbered the sons of Israel in the wilderness of Sinai,

for YHWH said of them, “They certainly die in the wilderness”; and there has not been left a man of them, except Caleb son of Jephunneh and Joshua son of Nun.
