സംഖ്യാപുസ്തകം 18

1 പിന്നെ യഹോവ അഹരോനോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതെന്തെന്നാൽ: നീയും നിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരും നിന്റെ പിതൃഭവനവും വിശുദ്ധമന്ദിരം സംബന്ധിച്ചുണ്ടാകുന്ന അകൃത്യം വഹിക്കേണം; നീയും നിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരും നിങ്ങളുടെ പൌരോഹിത്യം സംബന്ധിച്ചുണ്ടാകുന്ന അകൃത്യവും വഹിക്കേണം.

And the Lord said to Aaron: Thou, and thy sons, and thy father’s house with thee shall bear the iniquity of the sanctuary: and thou and thy sons with thee shall bear the sins of your priesthood.

2 നിന്റെ പിതൃഗോത്രമായ ലേവിഗോത്രത്തിലുള്ള നിന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാരെയും നിന്നോടുകൂടെ അടുത്തുവരുമാറാക്കേണം. അവർ നിന്നോടു ചേൎന്നു നിനക്കു ശുശ്രൂഷ ചെയ്യേണം; നീയും നിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരുമോ സാക്ഷ്യകൂടാരത്തിങ്കൽ ശുശ്രൂഷ ചെയ്യേണം.

And take with thee thy brethren also of the tribe of Levi, and the sceptre of thy father, and let them be ready in hand, and minister to thee: but thou and thy sons shall minister in the tabernacle of the testimony.

3 അവർ നിനക്കും കൂടാരത്തിന്നൊക്കെയും ആവശ്യമുള്ള കാൎയ്യം നോക്കേണം; എന്നാൽ അവരും നിങ്ങളും കൂടെ മരിക്കാതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അവർ വിശുദ്ധമന്ദിരത്തിലെ ഉപകരണങ്ങളോടും യാഗപീഠത്തോടും അടുക്കരുതു.

And the Levites shall watch to do thy commands, and about all the works of the tabernacle: only they shall not come nigh the vessels of the sanctuary nor the altar, lest both they die, and you also perish with them.

4 അവർ നിന്നോടു ചേൎന്നു സമാഗമനകൂടാരം സംബന്ധിച്ചുള്ള സകലവേലെക്കുമായി കൂടാരത്തിന്റെ കാൎയ്യം നോക്കേണം; ഒരു അന്യനും നിങ്ങളോടു അടുക്കരുതു.

But let them be with thee, and watch in the charge of the tabernacle, and in all the ceremonies thereof. A stranger shall not join himself with you.

5 യിസ്രായേൽമക്കളുടെ മേൽ ഇനി ക്രോധം വരാതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു വിശുദ്ധമന്ദിരത്തിന്റെയും യാഗപീഠത്തിന്റെയും കാൎയ്യം നിങ്ങൾ നോക്കേണം.

Watch ye in the charge of the sanctuary, and in the ministry of the altar: lest indignation rise upon the children of Israel.

6 ലേവ്യരായ നിങ്ങളുടെ സഹോദരന്മാരെയോ ഞാൻ യിസ്രായേൽമക്കളുടെ ഇടയിൽനിന്നു എടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നു; യഹോവെക്കു ദാനമായിരിക്കുന്ന അവരെ സമാഗമനകൂടാരം സംബന്ധിച്ചുള്ള വേല ചെയ്യേണ്ടതിന്നു ഞാൻ നിങ്ങൾക്കു ദാനം ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു.

I have given you your brethren the Levites from among the children of Israel, and have delivered them for a gift to the Lord, to serve in the ministries of the tabernacle.

7 ആകയാൽ നീയും നിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരും യാഗപീഠത്തിങ്കലും തിരശ്ശീലെക്കകത്തും ഉള്ള സകലകാൎയ്യത്തിലും നിങ്ങളുടെ പൌരോഹിത്യം അനുഷ്ഠിച്ചു ശുശ്രൂഷചെയ്യേണം; പൌരോഹിത്യം ഞാൻ നിങ്ങൾക്കു ദാനം ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു; അന്യൻ അടുത്തു വന്നാൽ മരണശിക്ഷ അനുഭവിക്കേണം.

But thou and thy sons look ye to the priesthood: and all things that pertain to the service of the altar, and that are within the veil, shall be executed by the priests. If any stranger shall approach, he shall be slain.

8 യഹോവ പിന്നെയും അഹരോനോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതു: ഇതാ, എന്റെ ഉദൎച്ചാൎപ്പണങ്ങളുടെ കാൎയ്യം ഞാൻ നിന്നെ ഭരമേല്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; യിസ്രായേൽമക്കളുടെ സകലവസ്തുക്കളിലും അവയെ ഞാൻ നിനക്കും നിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാൎക്കും ഓഹരിയായും ശാശ്വതവാകാശമായും തന്നിരിക്കുന്നു.

And the Lord said to Aaron: Behold I have given thee the charge of my firstfruits. All things that are sanctified by the children of Israel, I have delivered to thee and to thy sons for the priestly office, by everlasting ordinances.

9 തീയിൽ ദഹിപ്പിക്കാത്തതായി അതിവിശുദ്ധവസ്തുക്കളിൽവെച്ചു ഇതു നിനക്കുള്ളതായിരിക്കേണം; അവർ എനിക്കു അൎപ്പിക്കുന്ന അവരുടെ എല്ലാവഴിപാടും സകലഭോജനയാഗവും സകലപാപയാഗവും സകലഅകൃത്യയാഗവും അതിവിശുദ്ധമായി നിനക്കും നിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാൎക്കും ഇരിക്കേണം.

These therefore shalt thou take of the things that are sanctified, and are offered to the Lord. Every offering, and sacrifice, and whatsoever is rendered to me for sin and for trespass, and becometh holy of holies, shall be for thee and thy sons.

10 അതിവിശുദ്ധവസ്തുവായിട്ടു അതു ഭക്ഷിക്കേണം; ആണുങ്ങളെല്ലാം അതു ഭക്ഷിക്കേണം. അതു നിനക്കുവേണ്ടി വിശുദ്ധമായിരിക്കേണം.

Thou shalt eat it in the sanctuary: the males only shall eat thereof, because it is a consecrated thing to thee.

11 യിസ്രായേൽമക്കളുടെ ദാനമായുള്ള ഉദൎച്ചാൎപ്പണമായ ഇതു അവരുടെ സകലനീരാജനയാഗങ്ങളോടുംകൂടെ നിനക്കുള്ളതാകുന്നു; ഇവയെ ഞാൻ നിനക്കും നിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാൎക്കും പുത്രിമാൎക്കും ശാശ്വതാവകാശമായി തന്നിരിക്കുന്നു; നിന്റെ വീട്ടിൽ ശുദ്ധിയുള്ളവന്നെല്ലാം അതു ഭക്ഷിക്കാം.

But the firstfruits, which the children of Israel shall vow and offer, I have given to thee, and to thy sons, and to thy daughters, by a perpetual law. He that is clean in thy house, shall eat them.

12 എണ്ണയിൽ വിശേഷമായതൊക്കെയും പുതുവീഞ്ഞിലും ധാന്യത്തിലും വിശേഷമായതൊക്കെയും ഇങ്ങനെ അവർ യഹോവെക്കു അൎപ്പിക്കുന്ന ആദ്യഫലമൊക്കെയും ഞാൻ നിനക്കു തന്നിരിക്കുന്നു.

All the best of the oil, and of the wine, and of the corn, whatsoever firstfruits they offer to the Lord, I have given them to thee.

13 അവർ തങ്ങളുടെ ദേശത്തുള്ള എല്ലാറ്റിലും യഹോവെക്കു കൊണ്ടുവരുന്ന ആദ്യഫലങ്ങൾ നിനക്കു ആയിരിക്കേണം; നിന്റെ വീട്ടിൽ ശുദ്ധിയുള്ളവന്നെല്ലാം അതു ഭക്ഷിക്കാം.

All the firstripe of the fruits, that the ground bringeth forth, and which are brought to the Lord, shall be for thy use: he that is clean in thy house, shall eat them.

14 യിസ്രായേലിൽ ശപഥാൎപ്പിതമായതു ഒക്കെയും നിനക്കു ഇരിക്കേണം.

Every thing that the children of Israel shall give by vow, shall be thine.

15 മനുഷ്യരിൽ ആകട്ടെ മൃഗങ്ങളിൽ ആകട്ടെ സകലജഡത്തിലും അവർ യഹോവെക്കു കൊണ്ടുവരുന്ന കടിഞ്ഞൂൽ ഒക്കെയും നിനക്കു ഇരിക്കേണം; മനുഷ്യന്റെ കടിഞ്ഞൂലിനെയോ വീണ്ടെടുക്കേണം; അശുദ്ധമൃഗങ്ങളുടെ കടിഞ്ഞൂലിനെയും വീണ്ടെടുക്കേണം.

Whatsoever is firstborn of all flesh, which they offer to the Lord, whether it be of men, or of beasts, shall belong to thee: only for the firstborn of man thou shalt take a price, and every beast that is unclean thou shalt cause to be redeemed,

16 വീണ്ടെടുപ്പുവിലയോ: ഒരു മാസംമുതൽ മേലോട്ടു പ്രായമുള്ളതിനെ നിന്റെ മതിപ്പുപ്രകാരം അഞ്ചു ശേക്കെൽ ദ്രവ്യംകൊടുത്തു വീണ്ടെടുക്കേണം. ശേക്കെൽ ഒന്നിന്നു ഇരുപതു ഗേരപ്രകാരം വിശുദ്ധമന്ദിരത്തിലെ തൂക്കം തന്നേ.

And the redemption of it shall be after one month, for five sicles of silver, by the weight of the sanctuary. A sicle hath twenty obols.

17 എന്നാൽ പശു, ആടു, കോലാടു എന്നിവയുടെ കടിഞ്ഞൂലിനെ വീണ്ടെടുക്കരുതു; അവ വിശുദ്ധമാകുന്നു; അവയുടെ രക്തം യാഗപീഠത്തിന്മേൽ തളിച്ചു മേദസ്സു യഹോവെക്കു സൌരഭ്യവാസനയായ ദഹനയാഗമായി ദഹിപ്പിക്കേണം.

But the firstling of a cow and of a sheep and of a goat thou shalt not cause to be redeemed, because they are sanctified to the Lord. Their blood only thou shalt pour upon the altar, and their fat thou shalt burn for a most sweet odour to the Lord.

18 നീരാജനം ചെയ്ത നെഞ്ചും വലത്തെ കൈക്കുറകും നിനക്കുള്ളതായിരിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ തന്നേ അവയുടെ മാംസവും നിനക്കു ഇരിക്കേണം.

But the flesh shall fall to thy use, as the consecrated breast, and the right shoulder shall be thine.

19 യിസ്രായേൽമക്കൾ യഹോവെക്കു അൎപ്പിക്കുന്ന വിശുദ്ധവസ്തുക്കളിൽ ഉദൎച്ചാൎപ്പണങ്ങളെല്ലാം ഞാൻ നിനക്കും നിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാൎക്കും പുത്രിമാൎക്കും ശാശ്വതാവകാശമായി തന്നിരിക്കുന്നു; യഹോവയുടെ സന്നിധിയിൽ നിനക്കും നിന്റെ സന്തതിക്കും ഇതു എന്നേക്കും ഒരു ലവണനിയമം ആകുന്നു.

All the firstfruits of the sanctuary which the children of Israel offer to the Lord, I have given to thee and to thy sons and daughters, by a perpetual ordinance. It is a covenant of salt for ever before the Lord, to thee and to thy sons.

20 യഹോവ പിന്നെയും അഹരോനോടു: നിനക്കു അവരുടെ ഭൂമിയിൽ ഒരു അവകാശവും ഉണ്ടാകരുതു; അവരുടെ ഇടയിൽ നിനക്കു ഒരു ഓഹരിയും അരുതു; യിസ്രായേൽമക്കളുടെ ഇടയിൽ ഞാൻ തന്നേ നിന്റെ ഓഹരിയും അവകാശവും ആകുന്നു എന്നു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.

And the Lord said to Aaron: You shall possess nothing in their land, neither shall you have a portion among them: I am thy portion and inheritance in the midst of the children of Israel.

21 ലേവ്യൎക്കോ ഞാൻ സാമഗമനകൂടാരം സംബന്ധിച്ചു അവർ ചെയ്യുന്ന വേലെക്കു യിസ്രായേലിൽ ഉള്ള ദശാംശം എല്ലാം അവകാശമായി കൊടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നു.

And I have given to the sons of Levi all the tithes of Israel for a possession for the ministry wherewith they serve me in the tabernacle of the covenant:

22 യിസ്രായേൽമക്കൾ പാപം വഹിച്ചു മരിക്കാതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു മേലാൽ സമാഗമനകൂടാരത്തോടു അടുക്കരുതു.

That the children of Israel may not approach any more to the tabernacle, nor commit deadly sin,

23 ലേവ്യർ സമാഗമനകൂടാരം സംബന്ധിച്ചുള്ള വേല ചെയ്കയും അവരുടെ അകൃത്യം വഹിക്കയും വേണം; അതു തലമുറതലമുറയായി എന്നേക്കുമുള്ള ചട്ടമായിരിക്കേണം; അവൎക്കു യിസ്രായേൽമക്കളുടെ ഇടയിൽ അവകാശം ഉണ്ടാകരുതു.

But only the sons of Levi may serve me in the tabernacle, and bear the sins of the people. It shall be an everlasting ordinance in your generations. They shall not possess any other thing,

24 യിസ്രായേൽമക്കൾ യഹോവെക്കു ഉദൎച്ചാൎപ്പണമായി അൎപ്പിക്കുന്ന ദശാംശം ഞാൻ ലേവ്യൎക്കു അവകാശമായി കൊടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നു; അതുകൊണ്ടു അവൎക്കു യിസ്രായേൽമക്കളുടെ ഇടയിൽ അവകാശം അരുതു എന്നു ഞാൻ അവരോടു കല്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

But be content with the oblation or tithes, which I have separated for their uses and necessities.

25 യഹോവ പിന്നെയും മോശെയോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതു:

And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying:

26 നീ ലേവ്യരോടു പറയേണ്ടതു എന്തെന്നാൽ: യിസ്രായേൽമക്കളുടെ പക്കൽനിന്നു ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളുടെ അവകാശമായി നിങ്ങൾക്കു തന്നിരിക്കുന്ന ദശാംശം അവരോടു വാങ്ങുമ്പോൾ ദശാംശത്തിന്റെ പത്തിലൊന്നു നിങ്ങൾ യഹോവെക്കു ഉദൎച്ചാൎപ്പണമായി അൎപ്പിക്കേണം.

Command the Levites, and declare unto them: When you shall receive of the children of Israel the tithes, which I have given you, offer the firstfruits of them to the Lord, that is to say, the tenth part of the tenth:

27 നിങ്ങളുടെ ഈ ഉദൎച്ചാൎപ്പണം കളത്തിലെ ധാന്യംപോലെയും മുന്തിരിച്ചക്കിലെ നിറവുപോലെയും നിങ്ങളുടെ പേൎക്കു എണ്ണും.

That it may be reckoned to you as an oblation of firstfruits, as well of the barnfloors as of the winepresses:

28 ഇങ്ങനെ യിസ്രായേൽ മക്കളോടു നിങ്ങൾ വാങ്ങുന്ന സകലദശാംശത്തില്നിന്നും യഹോവെക്കു ഒരു ഉദൎച്ചാൎപ്പണം അൎപ്പിക്കേണം; യഹോവെക്കുള്ള ആ ഉദൎച്ചാൎപ്പണം നിങ്ങൾ പുരോഹിതനായ അഹരോന്നു കൊടുക്കേണം.

And of all the things of which you receive tithes, offer the firstfruits to the Lord, and give them to Aaron the priest.

29 നിങ്ങൾക്കുള്ള സകലദാനങ്ങളിലും ഉത്തമമായ എല്ലാറ്റിന്റെയും വിശുദ്ധഭാഗം നിങ്ങൾ യഹോവെക്കു ഉദൎച്ചാൎപ്പണമായി അൎപ്പിക്കേണം.

All the things that you shall offer of the tithes, and shall separate for the gifts of the Lord, shall be the best and choicest things.

30 ആകയാൽ നീ അവരോടു പറയേണ്ടതെന്തെന്നാൽ: നിങ്ങൾ അതിന്റെ ഉത്തമഭാഗം ഉദൎച്ചാൎപ്പണമായി അൎപ്പിക്കുമ്പോൾ അതു കളത്തിലെ അനുഭവംപോലെയും മുന്തിരിച്ചക്കിലെ അനുഭവംപോലെയും ലേവ്യൎക്കു എണ്ണും.

And thou shalt say to them: If you offer all the goodly and the better things of the tithes, it shall be reckoned to you as if you had given the firstfruits of the barnfloor and the winepress:

31 അതു നിങ്ങൾക്കും നിങ്ങളുടെ കുടുംബങ്ങൾക്കും എല്ലാടത്തുവെച്ചും ഭക്ഷിക്കാം; അതു സമാഗമനകൂടാരത്തിങ്കൽ നിങ്ങൾ ചെയ്യുന്ന വേലെക്കുള്ള ശമ്പളം ആകുന്നു.

And you shall eat them in all your places, both you and your families: because it is your reward for the ministry, wherewith you serve in the tabernacle of the testimony.

32 അതിന്റെ ഉത്തമഭാഗം ഉദൎച്ചചെയ്താൽ പിന്നെ നിങ്ങൾ അതുനിമിത്തം പാപം വഹിക്കയില്ല; നിങ്ങൾ യിസ്രായേൽമക്കളുടെ വിശുദ്ധവസ്തുക്കൾ അശുദ്ധമാക്കുകയും അതിനാൽ മരിച്ചു പോവാൻ ഇടവരികയുമില്ല.

And you shall not sin in this point, by reserving the choicest and fat things to yourselves, lest you profane the oblations of the children of Israel, and die.
