യോശുവ 1
1 യഹോവയുടെ ദാസനായ മോശെയുടെ മരണശേഷം യഹോവ നൂന്റെ മകനായി മോശെയുടെ ശുശ്രൂഷകനായ യോശുവയോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതു:
And it came to pass after the death of Moses, the servant of the Lord, that the Lord spoke unto Joshua the son of Nun, the minister of Moses, saying,
2 എന്റെ ദാസനായ മോശെ മരിച്ചു; ആകയാൽ നീയും ഈ ജനമൊക്കെയും പുറപ്പെട്ടു യോൎദ്ദാന്നക്കരെ ഞാൻ യിസ്രായേൽമക്കൾക്കു കൊടുക്കുന്ന ദേശത്തേക്കു കടന്നുപോകുവിൻ.
Moses my servant is dead; now therefore arise, pass over this Jordan, thou, and all this people, unto the land which I do give to them, to the children of Israel.
3 നിങ്ങളുടെ ഉള്ളങ്കാൽ ചവിട്ടുന്ന സ്ഥലമൊക്കെയും ഞാൻ മോശെയോടു കല്പിച്ചതുപോലെ നിങ്ങൾക്കു തന്നിരിക്കുന്നു.
Every place that the sole of your foot shall tread upon, that have I given unto you, as I said unto Moses.
4 മരുഭൂമിയും ഈ ലെബാനോനും തുടങ്ങി ഫ്രാത്ത് എന്ന മഹാനദിവരെയും ഹിത്യരുടെ ദേശം ഒക്കെയും പടിഞ്ഞാറു മഹാസമുദ്രംവരെയും നിങ്ങളുടെ അതിരായിരിക്കും.
From the wilderness and this Lebanon even unto the great river, the river Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites, and unto the great sea toward the going down of the sun, shall be your boundary.
5 നിന്റെ ജീവകാലത്തു ഒരിക്കലും ഒരു മനുഷ്യനും നിന്റെ നേരെ നില്ക്കയില്ല; ഞാൻ മോശെയോടുകൂടെ ഇരുന്നതു പോലെ നിന്നോടുകൂടെയും ഇരിക്കും; ഞാൻ നിന്നെ കൈവിടുകയില്ല, ഉപേക്ഷിക്കയും ഇല്ല.
No man shall be able to stand up before thee all the days of thy life; as I was with Moses, so will I be with thee: I will not let thee fail, nor forsake thee.
6 ഉറപ്പും ധൈൎയ്യവും ഉള്ളവനായിരിക്ക; ഞാൻ അവൎക്കു കൊടുക്കുമെന്നു അവരുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരോടു സത്യം ചെയ്ത ദേശം നീ ഈ ജനത്തിന്നു അവകാശമായി വിഭാഗിക്കും.
Be strong and of a good courage; for thou shalt divide for an inheritance unto this people the land, which I swore unto their fathers to give to them.
7 എന്റെ ദാസനായ മോശെ നിന്നോടു കല്പിച്ചിട്ടുള്ള ന്യായപ്രമാണമൊക്കെയും അനുസരിച്ചു നടക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു നല്ല ഉറപ്പും ധൈൎയ്യവും ഉള്ളവനായി മാത്രം ഇരിക്ക; ചെല്ലുന്നേടത്തൊക്കെയും നീ ശുഭമായിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അതു വിട്ടു ഇടത്തോട്ടോ വലത്തോട്ടോ മാറരുതു.
Only be thou strong and very courageous, to observe to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant hath commanded thee: turn not from it to the right hand or to the left; in order that thou mayest prosper whithersoever thou goest.
8 ഈ ന്യായപ്രമാണ പുസ്തകത്തിലുള്ളതു നിന്റെ വായിൽനിന്നു നീങ്ങിപ്പോകരുതു; അതിൽ എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ ഒക്കെയും പ്രമാണിച്ചു നടക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു നീ രാവും പകലും അതു ധ്യാനിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കേണം; എന്നാൽ നിന്റെ പ്രവൃത്തി സാധിക്കും; നീ കൃതാൎത്ഥനായും ഇരിക്കും.
This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, in order that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein; for then shalt thou make thy way prosperous, and then shalt thou have good success.
9 നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നീ പോകുന്നേടത്തൊക്കെയും നിന്നോടുകൂടെ ഉള്ളതുകൊണ്ടു ഉറപ്പും ധൈൎയ്യവുമുള്ളവനായിരിക്ക; ഭയപ്പെടരുതു, ഭ്രമിക്കയും അരുതു എന്നു ഞാൻ നിന്നോടു കല്പിച്ചുവല്ലോ.
Behold, I have commanded thee, Be strong and of good courage; be not dismayed, neither be thou discouraged; for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.
10 എന്നാറെ യോശുവ ജനത്തിന്റെ പ്രമാണികളോടു കല്പിച്ചതു:
Then Joshua commanded the officers of the people, saying,
11 പാളയത്തിൽ കൂടി കടന്നു ജനത്തോടു: നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിങ്ങൾക്കു അവകാശമായി തരുന്ന ദേശം കൈവശമാക്കുവാൻ ചെല്ലേണ്ടതിന്നു നിങ്ങൾ മൂന്നു ദിവസം കഴിഞ്ഞിട്ടു യോൎദ്ദാന്നക്കരെ കടക്കേണ്ടതാകയാൽ ഭക്ഷണസാധനം ഒരുക്കിക്കൊൾവിൻ എന്നു കല്പിപ്പിൻ.
Pass through the midst of the camp, and command the people, saying, Prepare yourselves provisions; for after only three days more ye shall pass over this Jordan, to go in to possess the land, which the Lord your God giveth you, to possess it.
12 പിന്നെ യോശുവ രൂബേന്യരോടും ഗാദ്യരോടും മനശ്ശെയുടെ പാതിഗോത്രത്തോടും പറഞ്ഞതു എന്തെന്നാൽ:
And to the Reubenites, and to the Gadites, and to half the tribe of Menasseh, spoke Joshua, saying,
13 യഹോവയുടെ ദാസനായ മോശെ നിങ്ങളോടു കല്പിച്ച വചനം ഓൎത്തുകൊൾവിൻ; നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിങ്ങൾക്കു സ്വസ്ഥത നല്കി ഈ ദേശവും തന്നിരിക്കുന്നു.
Remember the word which Moses the servant of the Lord commanded you, saying, The Lord your God hath granted you rest, and hath given you this land;
14 നിങ്ങളുടെ ഭാൎയ്യമാരും കുഞ്ഞുകുട്ടികളും നിങ്ങളുടെ കന്നുകാലികളും യോൎദ്ദാന്നിക്കരെ മോശെ നിങ്ങൾക്കു തന്നിട്ടുള്ള ദേശത്തിരിക്കട്ടെ; എന്നാൽ നിങ്ങളിൽ യുദ്ധപ്രാപ്തന്മാരായവർ ഒക്കെയും സന്നദ്ധരായി നിങ്ങളുടെ സഹോദരന്മാൎക്കു മുമ്പായി കടന്നുചെന്നു
Your wives, your little ones, and your cattle, shall remain in the land which Moses gave you on this side of the Jordan; but ye shall pass over armed before your brethren, all the mighty men of valor, and help them;
15 യഹോവ നിങ്ങൾക്കു എന്നപോലെ നിങ്ങളുടെ സഹോദരന്മാൎക്കും സ്വസ്ഥത നല്കുകയും നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ അവൎക്കു കൊടുക്കുന്ന ദേശം അവർ കൈവശമാക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുവോളം അവരെ സഹായിക്കേണം; അതിന്റെ ശേഷം നിങ്ങൾ യഹോവയുടെ ദാസനായ മോശെ കിഴക്കു യോൎദ്ദാന്നിക്കരെ നിങ്ങൾക്കു തന്നിട്ടുള്ള അവകാശദേശത്തേക്കു മടങ്ങി വന്നു അതിനെ അനുഭവിച്ചുകൊള്ളേണം.
Until the Lord shall have granted your brethren rest, as he hath done to you, and they also have taken possession of the land which the Lord your God giveth them: then shall ye return unto the land of your possession, and possess it, which Moses the servant of the Lord gave you on this side of the Jordan, toward the rising of the sun.
16 അവർ യോശുവയോടു: നീ ഞങ്ങളോടു കല്പിക്കുന്നതൊക്കെയും ഞങ്ങൾ ചെയ്യും; ഞങ്ങളെ അയക്കുന്നേടത്തൊക്കെയും ഞങ്ങൾ പോകും.
And they answered Joshua, saying, All that thou hast commanded us will we do, and whithersoever thou wilt send us will we go.
17 ഞങ്ങൾ മോശെയെ സകലത്തിലും അനുസരിച്ചതുപോലെ നിന്നെയും അനുസരിക്കും; നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ മോശെയോടുകൂടെ ഇരുന്നതുപോലെ നിന്നോടുകൂടെയും ഇരുന്നാൽ മതി.
Entirely so as we have hearkened unto Moses, thus will we hearken unto thee: only the Lord thy God be with thee, as he was with Moses.
18 ആരെങ്കിലും നിന്റെ കല്പന മറുക്കയും നീ കല്പിക്കുന്ന യാതൊന്നിലും നിന്റെ വാക്കു അനുസരിക്കാതിരിക്കയും ചെയ്താൽ അവൻ മരിക്കേണം; ഉറപ്പും ധൈൎയ്യവും ഉള്ളവനായി മാത്രം ഇരുന്നാലും എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.
Every man that doth rebel against thy order, and will not hearken unto thy words in all that thou mayest command him, shall be put to death: only be strong and of a good courage.
