ഇയ്യോബ് 22
1 അതിന്നു തേമാന്യനായ എലീഫസ് ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞതെന്തെന്നാൽ:
Then Eliphaz the Temanite answered and said:
2 മനുഷ്യൻ ദൈവത്തിന്നു ഉപകാരമായിവരുമോ? ജ്ഞാനിയായവൻ തനിക്കു തന്നേ ഉപകരിക്കേയുള്ളു.
Can a man, then, profit God? Behold, the wise man profiteth himself.
3 നീ നീതിമാനായാൽ സൎവ്വശക്തന്നു പ്രയോജനമുണ്ടോ? നീ നിഷ്കളങ്കനായി നടക്കുന്നതിനാൽ അവന്നു ലാഭമുണ്ടോ?
Is it a pleasure to the Almighty, that thou art righteous; Or a gain to him, that thou walkest uprightly?
4 നിന്റെ ഭക്തിനിമിത്തമോ അവൻ നിന്നെ ശാസിക്കയും നിന്നെ ന്യായവിസ്താരത്തിൽ വരുത്തുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നതു?
Will he contend with thee because he feareth thee? Will he enter with thee into judgment?
5 നിന്റെ ദുഷ്ടത വലിയതല്ലയോ? നിന്റെ അകൃത്യങ്ങൾക്കു അന്തവുമില്ല.
Hath not thy wickedness been great? Have not thine iniquities been numberless?
6 നിന്റെ സഹോദരനോടു നീ വെറുതെ പണയം വാങ്ങി, നഗ്നന്മാരുടെ വസ്ത്രം ഉരിഞ്ഞെടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നു.
For thou hast taken a pledge from thy brother unjustly, And stripped the poor of their clothing.
7 ക്ഷീണിച്ചവന്നു നീ വെള്ളം കൊടുത്തില്ല; വിശന്നവന്നു നീ ആഹാരം മുടക്കിക്കളഞ്ഞു.
Thou hast given the weary no water to drink, And withholden bread from the hungry.
8 കയ്യൂറ്റക്കാരന്നോ ദേശം കൈവശമായി, മാന്യനായവൻ അതിൽ പാൎത്തു.
But the man of power, his was the land, And the honorable man dwelt in it.
9 വിധവമാരെ നീ വെറുങ്കയ്യായി അയച്ചു; അനാഥന്മാരുടെ ഭുജങ്ങളെ നീ ഒടിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു.
Thou hast sent widows away empty, And broken the arms of the fatherless.
10 അതുകൊണ്ടു നിന്റെ ചുറ്റും കണികൾ ഇരിക്കുന്നു; പെട്ടെന്നു ഭയം നിന്നെ ഭ്രമിപ്പിക്കുന്നു.
Therefore snares are round about thee, And sudden fear confoundeth thee;
11 അല്ല, നീ അന്ധകാരത്തെയും നിന്നെ മൂടുന്ന പെരുവെള്ളത്തെയും കണുന്നില്ലയോ?
Or darkness, through which thou canst not see, And floods of water cover thee.
12 ദൈവം സ്വൎഗ്ഗോന്നതത്തിൽ ഇല്ലയോ? നക്ഷത്രങ്ങൾ എത്ര ഉയൎന്നിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു നോക്കുക.
Is not God in the height of heaven? And behold the stars, how high they are!
13 എന്നാൽ നീ: ദൈവം എന്തറിയുന്നു? കൂരിരുട്ടിൽ അവൻ ന്യായം വിധിക്കുമോ?
Hence thou sayest, “What doth God know? Can he govern behind the thick darkness?
14 കാണാതവണ്ണം മേഘങ്ങൾ അവന്നു മറ ആയിരിക്കുന്നു; ആകാശമണ്ഡലത്തിൽ അവൻ ഉലാവുന്നു എന്നു പറയുന്നു.
Dark clouds are a veil to him, and he cannot see; And he walketh upon the arch of heaven.”
15 ദുഷ്ടമനുഷ്യർ നടന്നിരിക്കുന്ന പുരാതനമാൎഗ്ഗം നീ പ്രമാണിക്കുമോ?
Wilt thou take the old way Which wicked men have trodden,
16 കാലം തികയും മുമ്പെ അവർ പിടിപെട്ടുപോയി; അവരുടെ അടിസ്ഥാനം നദിപോലെ ഒഴുകിപ്പോയി.
Who were cut down before their time, And whose foundations were swept away by a flood?
17 അവർ ദൈവത്തോടു: ഞങ്ങളെ വിട്ടുപോക; സൎവ്വശക്തൻ ഞങ്ങളോടു എന്തു ചെയ്യും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
Who said unto God, “Depart from us!” And, “What can the Almighty do to us?”
18 അവനോ അവരുടെ വീടുകളെ നന്മകൊണ്ടു നിറെച്ചു; ദുഷ്ടന്മാരുടെ ആലോചന എന്നോടു അകന്നിരിക്കുന്നു.
And yet he filled their houses with good things!—Far from me be the counsel of the wicked!
19 നീതിമാന്മാർ കണ്ടു സന്തോഷിക്കുന്നു; കുറ്റമില്ലാത്തവൻ അവരെ പരിഹസിച്ചു:
The righteous see their fate, and rejoice; And the innocent hold them in derision.
20 ഞങ്ങളുടെ എതിരാളികൾ മുടിഞ്ഞുപോയി; അവരുടെ ശേഷിപ്പു തീക്കിരയായി എന്നു പറയുന്നു.
“Truly our adversary is destroyed, And fire hath consumed his abundance!”
21 നീ അവനോടിണങ്ങി സമാധാനമായിരിക്ക; അതിനാൽ നിനക്കു നന്മ വരും.
Acquaint now thyself with him, and be at peace: Thus shall prosperity return to thee.
22 അവന്റെ വായിൽനിന്നു ഉപദേശം കൈക്കൊൾക; അവന്റെ വചനങ്ങളെ നിന്റെ ഹൃദയത്തിൽ സംഗ്രഹിക്ക.
Receive, I pray thee, instruction from his mouth, And lay up his words in thy heart.
23 സൎവ്വശക്തങ്കലേക്കു തിരിഞ്ഞാൽ നീ അഭിവൃദ്ധിപ്രാപിക്കും; നീതികേടു നിന്റെ കൂടാരങ്ങളിൽനിന്നു അകറ്റിക്കളയും.
If thou return to the Almighty, thou shalt be built up; If thou put away iniquity from thy tent.
24 നിന്റെ പൊന്നു പൊടിയിലും ഓഫീർതങ്കം തോട്ടിലെ കല്ലിൻ ഇടയിലും ഇട്ടുകളക.
Cast to the dust thy gold, And the gold of Ophir to the stones of the brook:
25 അപ്പോൾ സൎവ്വശക്തൻ നിന്റെ പൊന്നും നിനക്കു വെള്ളിവാളവും ആയിരിക്കും.
Then shall the Almighty be thy gold, Yea, treasures of silver unto thee;
26 അന്നു നീ സൎവ്വശക്തനിൽ പ്രമോദിക്കും; ദൈവത്തിങ്കലേക്കു നിന്റെ മുഖം ഉയൎത്തും.
For then shalt thou have delight in the Almighty, And shalt lift up thy face unto God.
27 നീ അവനോടു പ്രാൎത്ഥിക്കും; അവൻ നിന്റെ പ്രാൎത്ഥന കേൾക്കും; നീ നിന്റെ നേൎച്ചകളെ കഴിക്കും.
Thou shalt pray to him, and he shall hear thee, And thou shalt perform thy vows.
28 നീ ഒരു കാൎയ്യം നിരൂപിക്കും; അതു നിനക്കു സാധിക്കും; നിന്റെ വഴികളിൽ വെളിച്ചം പ്രകാശിക്കും.
The purpose which thou formest shall prosper with thee, And light shall shine upon thy ways.
29 നിന്നെ താഴ്ത്തുമ്പോൾ ഉയൎച്ച എന്നു നീ പറയും; താഴ്മയുള്ളവനെ അവൻ രക്ഷിക്കും.
When men are cast down, thou shalt say, “There lifting up!” And the humble person he will save.
30 നിൎദ്ദോഷിയല്ലാത്തവനെപ്പോലും അവൻ വിടുവിക്കും; നിന്റെ കൈകളുടെ വെടിപ്പിനാൽ അവൻ വിടുവിക്കപ്പെടും.
He will deliver even him that is not innocent. The purity of thy hands shall save him.
