ഇയ്യോബ് 12

1 അതിന്നു ഇയ്യോബ് ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞതെന്തെന്നാൽ:

Then Job answered and said:

2 ഓഹോ, നിങ്ങൾ ആകുന്നു വിദ്വജ്ജനം! നിങ്ങൾ മരിച്ചാൽ ജ്ഞാനം മരിക്കും.

No doubt ye are the whole people! And wisdom will die with you!

3 നിങ്ങളെപ്പോലെ എനിക്കും ബുദ്ധി ഉണ്ടു; നിങ്ങളെക്കാൾ ഞാൻ അധമനല്ല; ആൎക്കാകുന്നു ഈവക അറിഞ്ഞുകൂടാത്തതു?

But I have understanding as well as you; I am not inferior to you: Yea, who knoweth not such things as these?

4 ദൈവത്തെ വിളിച്ചു ഉത്തരം ലഭിച്ച ഞാൻ എന്റെ സഖിക്കു പരിഹാസവിഷയമായിത്തീൎന്നു; നീതിമാനും നഷ്കളങ്കനുമായവൻ തന്നേ പരിഹാസവിഷയമായിത്തീൎന്നു.

I am become a laughing-stock to my friend, —I who call upon God, that he would answer me! The innocent and upright man is held in derision.

5 വിപത്തു നിന്ദ്യം എന്നു സുഖിയന്റെ വിചാരം; കാൽ ഇടറുന്നവൎക്കു അതു ഒരുങ്ങിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

To calamity belongeth contempt in the mind of one at ease; It is ready for them that slip with the feet.

6 പിടിച്ചുപറിക്കാരുടെ കൂടാരങ്ങൾ ശുഭമായിരിക്കുന്നു; ദൈവത്തെ കോപിപ്പിക്കുന്നവർ നിൎഭയമായ്‌വസിക്കുന്നു; അവരുടെ കയ്യിൽ ദൈവം എത്തിച്ചുകൊടുക്കുന്നു.

The tents of robbers are in prosperity, And they who provoke God are secure, Who carry their God in their hand.

7 മൃഗങ്ങളോടു ചോദിക്ക; അവ നിന്നെ ഉപദേശിക്കും; ആകാശത്തിലെ പക്ഷികളോടു ചോദിക്ക; അവ പറഞ്ഞുതരും;

For ask now the beasts, and they will teach thee; Or the fowls of the air, and they will tell thee;

8 അല്ല, ഭൂമിയോടു സംഭാഷിക്ക; അതു നിന്നെ ഉപദേശിക്കും; സമുദ്രത്തിലെ മത്സ്യം നിന്നോടു വിവരിക്കും.

Or speak to the earth, and it will instruct thee; And the fishes of the sea will declare unto thee.

9 യഹോവയുടെ കൈ ഇതു പ്രൎത്തിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ഇവയെല്ലാംകൊണ്ടും ഗ്രഹിക്കാത്തവനാർ?

Who among all these doth not know That the hand of Jehovah doeth these things?

10 സകലജീവജന്തുക്കളുടെയും പ്രാണനും സകലമനുഷ്യവൎഗ്ഗത്തിന്റെയും ശ്വാസവും അവന്റെ കയ്യിൽ ഇരിക്കുന്നു.

In whose hand is the soul of every living thing, And the breath of all mankind.

11 ചെവി വാക്കുകളെ പരിശോധിക്കുന്നില്ലയോ? അണ്ണാക്കു ഭക്ഷണം രുചിനോക്കുന്നില്ലയോ?

Doth not the ear prove words, As the mouth tasteth meat?

12 വൃദ്ധന്മാരുടെ പക്കൽ ജ്ഞാനവും വയോധികന്മാരിൽ വിവേകവും ഉണ്ടു.

With the aged is wisdom, And with length of days is understanding.

13 ജ്ഞാനവും ശക്തിയും അവന്റെ പക്കൽ, ആലോചനയും വിവേകവും അവന്നുള്ളതു.

With Him are wisdom and strength; With Him counsel and understanding.

14 അവൻ ഇടിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞാൽ ആൎക്കും പണിതുകൂടാ; അവൻ മനുഷ്യനെ ബന്ധിച്ചാൽ ആരും അഴിച്ചുവിടുകയില്ല.

Lo! he pulleth down, and it shall not be rebuilt; He bindeth a man, and he shall not be set loose.

15 അവൻ വെള്ളം തടുത്തുകളഞ്ഞാൽ അതു വറ്റിപ്പോകുന്നു; അവൻ വിട്ടയച്ചാൽ അതു ഭൂമിയെ മറിച്ചുകളയുന്നു.

Lo! he withholdeth the waters, and they are dried up; He sendeth them forth, and they lay waste the earth.

16 അവന്റെ പക്കൽ ശക്തിയും സാഫല്യവും ഉണ്ടു; വഞ്ചിതനും വഞ്ചകനും അവന്നുള്ളവർ.

With him are strength and wisdom; The deceived and the deceiver are his.

17 അവൻ മന്ത്രിമാരെ കവൎച്ചയായി കൊണ്ടു പോകുന്നു; ന്യായാധിപന്മാരെ ഭോഷന്മാരാക്കുന്നു.

He leadeth counsellors away captive, And judges he maketh fools.

18 രാജാക്കന്മാർ ബന്ധിച്ചതിനെ അഴിക്കുന്നു; അവരുടെ അരെക്കു കയറു കെട്ടുന്നു.

He looseth the authority of kings, And bindeth their loins with a cord.

19 അവൻ പുരോഹിതന്മാരെ കവൎച്ചയായി കൊണ്ടുപോകുന്നു; ബലശാലികളെ തള്ളിയിട്ടുകളയുന്നു.

He leadeth priests away captive, And overthroweth the mighty.

20 അവൻ വിശ്വസ്തന്മാൎക്കു വാക്കു മുട്ടിക്കുന്നു. വൃദ്ധന്മാരുടെ ബുദ്ധി എടുത്തുകളയുന്നു.

He removeth speech from the trusty, And taketh away judgment from the elders.

21 അവൻ പ്രഭുക്കന്മാരുടെമേൽ ധിക്കാരം പകരുന്നു; ബലവാന്മാരുടെ അരക്കച്ച അഴിച്ചുകളയുന്നു.

He poureth contempt upon princes, And looseth the girdle of the mighty.

22 അവൻ അഗാധകാൎയ്യങ്ങളെ അന്ധകാരത്തിൽ നിന്നു വെളിച്ചത്താക്കുന്നു; അന്ധതമസ്സിനെ പ്രകാശത്തിൽ വരുത്തുന്നു.

He revealeth deep things out of darkness, And bringeth the shadow of death to light.

23 അവൻ ജാതികളെ വൎദ്ധിപ്പക്കയും നശിപ്പിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നു; അവൻ ജാതികളെ ചിതറിക്കയും കൂട്ടുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു.

He exalteth nations, and destroyeth them; He enlargeth nations, and leadeth them captive.

24 അവൻ ഭൂവാസികളിൽ തലവന്മാരെ ധൈൎയ്യം കെടുക്കുന്നു; വഴിയില്ലാത്ത ശൂന്യപ്രദേശത്തു അവരെ ഉഴലുമാറാക്കുന്നു;

He taketh away the understanding of the great men of the land, And causeth them to wander in a wilderness, where is no path;

25 അവർ വെളിച്ചമില്ലാതെ ഇരുട്ടിൽ തപ്പിനടക്കുന്നു; അവൻ മത്തന്മാരെപ്പോലെ അവരെ ചാഞ്ചാടുമാറാക്കുന്നു.

They grope in the dark without light; He maketh them stagger like a drunken man.
