യിരെമ്യാവു 51

1 യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: ഞാൻ ബാബേലിന്റെ നേരെയും എന്റെ എതിരാളികളുടെ ഹൃദയത്തിന്റെ നേരെയും സംഹാരകന്റെ മനസ്സു ഉണൎത്തും.

Thus, saith Yahweh—Behold me! stirring up against Babylon, And against the inhabitants of the centre of them who rise up against me, —A wind that destroyeth;

2 പാറ്റുന്നവരെ ഞാൻ ബാബേലിലേക്കു അയക്കും; അവർ അതിനെ പാറ്റി ദേശത്തെ ശൂന്യമാക്കും; അനൎത്ഥദിവസത്തിൽ അവർ അതിനെ നാലുപുറവും വളയും.

And I will send to Babylon winnowers, And they shall winnow her, And shall empty her land, —For they are against her round about in the day of calamity.

3 വില്ലാളി വില്ലു കുലെക്കാതിരിക്കട്ടെ; അവൻ കവചം ധരിച്ചു നിവിൎന്നുനില്ക്കാതിരിക്കട്ടെ; അതിലെ യൌവനക്കാരെ ആദരിക്കാതെ സൎവ്വസൈന്യത്തെയും നിൎമ്മൂലമാക്കിക്കളവിൻ.

Let not the archer tread his bow, Nor lift himself up in his coat of mail, —And do not spare her young men, Devote to destruction all her host.

4 അങ്ങനെ കല്ദയരുടെ ദേശത്തു നിഹതന്മാരും അതിന്റെ വീഥികളിൽ കുത്തിത്തുളക്കപ്പെട്ടവരും വീഴും.

So shall they fall wounded in the land of Chaldea, —Yea thrust through, in her streets,

5 യിസ്രായേലിന്റെയും യെഹൂദയുടെയും ദേശങ്ങൾ യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ പരിശുദ്ധനോടുള്ള അകൃത്യംകൊണ്ടു നിറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു എങ്കിലും സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവയായ അവയുടെ ദൈവം അവയെ വിധവമാരായി വിട്ടിട്ടില്ല.

For Israel and Judah have not been widowed Of their God, Of Yahweh of hosts, —But, their land, hath been filled with punishment for guilt from the Holy One of Israel

6 ബാബേലിന്റെ നടുവിൽനിന്നു ഓടി ഓരോരുത്തൻ താന്താന്റെ പ്രാണനെ രക്ഷിച്ചുകൊൾവിൻ; നിങ്ങൾ അതിന്റെ അകൃത്യത്തിൽ നശിച്ചുപോകരുതു; ഇതു യഹോവയുടെ പ്രതികാരകാലമല്ലോ; അതിന്റെ പ്രവൃത്തിക്കു തക്കവണ്ണം അവൻ അതിനോടു പകരം ചെയ്യും;

Flee out of the midst of Babylon And deliver ye every man his own life, Be not cut off in her punishment, —For it is Yahweh’s, time of avenging, A recompense, is he repaying unto her.

7 ബാബേൽ യഹോവയുടെ കയ്യിൽ സൎവ്വഭൂമിയെയും ലഹരിപിടിപ്പിക്കുന്ന പൊൻപാനപാത്രം ആയിരുന്നു; ജാതികൾ അതിലെ വീഞ്ഞു കുടിച്ചിട്ടു അവൎക്കു ഭ്രാന്തു പിടിച്ചു.

A cup of gold, was Babylon in the hand of Yahweh, Making drunk all the earth, —Of her wine, have the nations drunk, For this cause have the nations been acting as men who are mad.

8 പെട്ടെന്നു ബാബേൽ വീണു തകൎന്നുപോയി; അതിനെക്കുറിച്ചു മുറയിടുവിൻ; അതിന്റെ വേദനെക്കു തൈലം കൊണ്ടുവരുവിൻ; പക്ഷേ അതിന്നു സൌഖ്യം വരും.

Suddenly, hath Babylon fallen and been broken, —Howl ye over her Fetch balsam for her pain, Peradventure she shall be healed!

9 ഞങ്ങൾ ബാബേലിന്നു ചികിത്സ ചെയ്തു എങ്കിലും സൌഖ്യം വന്നില്ല; അതിനെ ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചുകളവിൻ; നാം ഓരോരുത്തനും നമ്മുടെ സ്വദേശത്തേക്കു പോക; അതിന്റെ ശിക്ഷാവിധി സ്വൎഗ്ഗത്തോളം എത്തി ആകാശത്തോളം പൊങ്ങിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

We would have healed Babylon, but she is not healed, Leave her and let us go every one to his own land, —For her judgment, reacheth unto the heavens, And mounteth as far as the skies.

10 യഹോവ നമ്മുടെ നീതി വെളിപ്പെടുത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു; വരുവിൻ, നമ്മുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയുടെ പ്രവൃത്തിയെ സീയോനിൽ പ്രസ്താവിക്കുക.

Yahweh hath brought forth our righteousnesses, —Come and let us relate in Zion the work of Yahweh our God.

11 അമ്പു മിനുക്കുവിൻ; പരിച ധരിപ്പിൻ; യഹോവ മേദ്യരാജാക്കന്മാരുടെ മനസ്സു ഉണൎത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു; ബാബേലിനെ നശിപ്പിപ്പാൻ തക്കവണ്ണം അവന്റെ നിരൂപണം അതിന്നു വിരോധമായിരിക്കുന്നു; ഇതു യഹോവയുടെ പ്രതികാരം, തന്റെ മന്ദിരത്തിന്നു വേണ്ടിയുള്ള പ്രതികാരം തന്നേ.

Polish the arrows, Lay hold of the shields, —Yahweh hath roused the spirit of the kings of the Medes, For against Babylon, his purpose is, to destroy her, —For it is, The avenging of Yahweh, The avenging of his temple.

12 ബാബേലിന്റെ മതിലുകൾക്കു നേരെ കൊടി ഉയൎത്തുവിൻ; കാവൽ ഉറപ്പിപ്പിൻ; കാവല്ക്കാരെ നിൎത്തുവിൻ; പതിയിരിപ്പുകാരെ ഒരുക്കുവിൻ; യഹോവ ബാബേൽനിവാസികളെക്കുറിച്ചു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതു നിൎണ്ണയിച്ചും അനുഷ്ഠിച്ചുമിരിക്കുന്നു.

Against the walls of Babylon, Lift ye up a standard, Strengthen ye the watch, Station the watchmen, Make ready the ambuscades, —For Yahweh hath both planned and also performed that which he had spoken against the inhabitants of Babylon.

13 വലിയ വെള്ളങ്ങൾക്കരികെ വസിക്കുന്നവളായി വളരെ നിക്ഷേപങ്ങൾ ഉള്ളവളേ, നിന്റെ അവസാനം നിന്നെ ഛേദിച്ചുകളവാനുള്ള അവധി, വന്നിരിക്കുന്നു.

O thou who dwellest upon many waters, Who aboundest in treasures, —Come hath thine end! The measure of thine unrighteous gain!

14 ഞാൻ നിശ്ചയമായിട്ടു വിട്ടിലുകളെക്കൊണ്ടെന്നപോലെ മനുഷ്യരെക്കൊണ്ടു നിന്നെ നിറെക്കും; അവർ നിന്റെ നേരെ ആൎപ്പിടും എന്നു സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ തന്നെക്കൊണ്ടു തന്നേ സത്യം ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു.

Yahweh of hosts hath sworn, by his own soul: Surely I have filled thee with men as with locusts, And they have answered against thee with a shout.

15 അവൻ തന്റെ ശക്തിയാൽ ഭൂമിയെ സൃഷ്ടിച്ചു; തന്റെ ജ്ഞാനത്താൽ ഭൂമണ്ഡലത്തെ സ്ഥാപിച്ചു, തന്റെ വിവേകത്താൽ ആകാശത്തെ വിരിച്ചു.

He that Made the earth in his might, Established the world in his wisdom, —And in his understanding, stretched out the heavens

16 അവൻ തന്റെ നാദം പുറപ്പെടുവിക്കുമ്പോൾ ആകാശത്തു വെള്ളത്തിന്റെ മുഴക്കം ഉണ്ടാകുന്നു; ഭൂമിയുടെ അറ്റങ്ങളിൽനിന്നു അവൻ ആവി കയറ്റുന്നു; മഴെക്കു മിന്നൽ ഉണ്ടാക്കി തന്റെ ഭണ്ഡാരത്തിൽനിന്നു കാറ്റു പുറപ്പെടുവിക്കുന്നു.

By the voice that he uttered, there was a tumult of waters in the heavens, And he caused vapours to ascend from the end of the earth, —Lightnings for the rain, made he, And brought forth wind out of his treasures.

17 ഏതു മനുഷ്യനും മൃഗപ്രായനും പരിജ്ഞാനമില്ലാത്തവനുമാകുന്നു. തട്ടാന്മാർ ഒക്കെയും വിഗ്രഹംനിമിത്തം ലജ്ജിച്ചുപോകുന്നു; അവർ വാൎത്തുണ്ടാക്കിയ ബിംബം വ്യാജമത്രേ.

Every son of earth had become too brutish to know, —Every goldsmith, hath been put to shame, by a graven image, —For a falsehood, is his molten image Seeing there is no breath in them:

18 അവയിൽ ശ്വാസവും ഇല്ല. അവ മായയും വ്യൎത്ഥപ്രവൃത്തിയും തന്നേ; സന്ദൎശനകാലത്തു അവ നശിച്ചുപോകും.

Vanity, they are, A handiwork of mockeries, —In the time of their visitation, shall they perish.

19 യാക്കോബിന്റെ ഓഹരിയായവൻ ഇവയെപ്പോലെയല്ല; അവൻ സൎവ്വത്തെയും നിൎമ്മിച്ചവൻ; യിസ്രായേൽ അവന്റെ അവകാശഗോത്രം; സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ എന്നാകുന്നു അവന്റെ നാമം.

Not like these, is the portion of Jacob, For the fashioner of all things, is he! And the portion of his inheritance, —Yahweh of hosts, is his name.

20 നീ എന്റെ വെണ്മഴുവും യുദ്ധത്തിന്നുള്ള ആയുധങ്ങളും ആകുന്നു; ഞാൻ നിന്നെക്കൊണ്ടു ജാതികളെ തകൎക്കയും നിന്നെക്കൊണ്ടു രാജ്യങ്ങളെ നശിപ്പിക്കയും ചെയ്യും.

A war-club, art thou for me, Weapons of war; Therefore will I Beat down with thee—nations, and Destroy with thee—kingdoms;

21 നിന്നെക്കൊണ്ടു ഞാൻ കുതിരയെയും അതിന്റെ പുറത്തു കയറിയിരിക്കുന്നവനെയും തകൎക്കും; നിന്നെക്കൊണ്ടു ഞാൻ രഥത്തെയും അതിൽ ഇരിക്കുന്നവനെയും തകൎക്കും;

and Beat down with thee—the horse and his rider, —and Beat down with thee—the chariot and its rider;

22 നിന്നെക്കൊണ്ടു ഞാൻ പുരുഷനെയും സ്ത്രീയെയും തകൎക്കും; നിന്നെക്കൊണ്ടു ഞാൻ വൃദ്ധനെയും ബാലനെയും തകൎക്കും; നിന്നെക്കൊണ്ടു ഞാൻ യുവാവിനെയും യുവതിയെയും തകൎക്കും.

and Beat down with thee—man and woman, and Beat down with thee—elder and youth, and Beat down with thee—young man and virgin;

23 നിന്നെക്കൊണ്ടു ഞാൻ ഇടയനെയും ആട്ടിൻകൂട്ടത്തെയും തകൎക്കും; നിന്നെക്കൊണ്ടു ഞാൻ കൃഷിക്കാരനെയും അവന്റെ ഏർകാളയെയും തകൎക്കും; നിന്നെക്കൊണ്ടു ഞാൻ ദേശാധിപതികളെയും സ്ഥാനാപതികളെയും തകൎക്കും.

and Beat down with thee—the shepherd and his flock, and Beat down with thee—the plowman and his yoke; —and Beat down with thee—governors and deputies:

24 നിങ്ങൾ കാൺകെ ഞാൻ ബാബേലിന്നും സകല കല്ദയനിവാസികൾക്കും അവർ സീയോനിൽ ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്ന സകലദോഷത്തിന്നും തക്കവണ്ണം പകരം വീട്ടുമെന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

So will I recompense to Babylon, And to all the inhabitants of Chaldea, All their wickedness which they have committed against Zion before your eyes, —Declareth Yahweh.

25 സകലഭൂമിയെയും നശിപ്പിക്കുന്ന വിനാശകപൎവ്വതമേ, ഞാൻ നിനക്കു വിരോധമായിരിക്കുന്നു; ഞാൻ നിന്റെ മേൽ കൈ നീട്ടി നിന്നെ പാറകളിൽനിന്നു ഉരുട്ടി ദഹനപൎവ്വതം ആക്കും എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

Behold me! against thee, O destroying mountain Declareth Yahweh, That destroyest all the earth, —Therefore will I stretch out my hand over thee, And roll thee down from the crags, And make of thee a burning mountain:

26 നിന്നിൽനിന്നു അവർ മൂലക്കല്ലായിട്ടോ അടിസ്ഥാനക്കല്ലായിട്ടോ ഒരു കല്ലും എടുക്കാതവണ്ണം നീ നിത്യശൂന്യമായി ഭവിക്കും എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

So shall they not fetch from thee A stone for a corner nor A stone for a foundation, —For desolations age-abiding, shalt thou become Declareth Yahweh.

27 ദേശത്തു ഒരു കൊടി ഉയൎത്തുവിൻ; ജാതികളുടെ ഇടയിൽ കാഹളം ഊതുവിൻ; ജാതികളെ അതിന്റെ നേരെ സംസ്കരിപ്പിൻ; അറാറാത്ത്, മിന്നി, അസ്കെനാസ്, എന്നീ രാജ്യങ്ങളെ അതിന്നു വിരോധമായി വിളിച്ചുകൂട്ടുവിൻ; അതിന്നെതിരെ ഒരു സേനാപതിയെ നിയമിപ്പിൻ; പരുപരുത്ത വിട്ടിലുകളെപ്പോലെ കുതിരകളെ പുറപ്പെടുമാറാക്കുവിൻ.

Set ye up an ensign in the earth Blow ye a horn among the nations Hallow against her—nations, Summon against her the kingdoms of Ararat Minni, and Ashkenaz, —Set in charge against her a marshal, Bring up cavalry like hairy locusts:

28 മേദ്യരുടെ രാജാക്കന്മാരും ദേശാധിപതിമാരും സകല സ്ഥാനാപതിമാരും അവന്റെ ആധിപത്യത്തിൽ ഉൾപ്പെട്ട സകലദേശക്കാരുമായ ജാതികളെ അതിന്നു വിരോധമായി സംസ്കരിപ്പിൻ;

Hallow against her—nations, With the kings of Media, With her governors and all her deputies, —And with all the land of his dominion:

29 ബാബേൽദേശത്തെ നിവാസികളില്ലാതെ ശൂന്യമാക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ബാബേലിനെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള യഹോവയുടെ നിരൂപണങ്ങൾ നിവൃത്തിയായ്‌വരുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു ദേശം നടുങ്ങി സങ്കടപ്പെടുന്നു.

Then did the land tremble and was in pain, —For the plans of Yahweh, had been established against Babylon, To make the land of Babylon an astonishment, without inhabitant.

30 ബാബേലിലെ വീരന്മാർ യുദ്ധം മതിയാക്കി കോട്ടകളിൽ ഇരിക്കുന്നു; അവരുടെ ശക്തി ക്ഷയിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; അവർ സ്ത്രീകളെപ്പോലെ ആയിരിക്കുന്നു; അതിലെ വീടുകൾക്കു തീ വെച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു; അതിന്റെ ഓടാമ്പലുകൾ തകൎന്നിരിക്കുന്നു.

The heroes of Babylon have ceased to fight They have remained in the strongholds, Parched is their might, They have become women, —They have set fire to her habitations, Broken are her bars!

31 പട്ടണം നാലുപുറവും പിടിപെട്ടുപോയി, കടവുകൾ ശത്രുവശമായി, കളങ്ങൾ തീ പിടിച്ചു ദഹിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു, യോദ്ധാക്കൾ ഭയപരവശരായിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നിങ്ങനെ ബാബേൽരാജാവിനോടു അറിയിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു

Runner to meet runner, shall they run, And teller to meet teller, -To tell the king of Babylon, That captured is his city at the end!

32 ഓട്ടാളൻ ഓട്ടാളന്നും ദൂതൻ ദൂതന്നും എതിരെ ഓടുന്നു.

and The fords, have been seized, and The reeds, have they burned with fire; and The men of war, are dismayed!

33 യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: ബാബേൽപുത്രി മെതികാലത്തെ മെതിക്കളംപോലെയായിരിക്കുന്നു; ഇനി കുറഞ്ഞോന്നു കഴിഞ്ഞിട്ടു അതിന്റെ കൊയ്ത്തുകാലം വരും.

For, thus, saith Yahweh of hosts, God of Israel, The daughter of Babylon, is like a threshing, floor at the time of treading her: Yet a little, and the time of harvest shall overtake her.

34 ബാബേൽരാജാവായ നെബൂഖദ്നേസർ എന്നെ തിന്നുമുടിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു, അവൻ എന്നെ വെറുമ്പാത്രമാക്കി, മഹാസൎപ്പം എന്നപോലെ അവൻ എന്നെ വിഴുങ്ങിക്കളഞ്ഞു, എന്റെ സ്വാദുഭോജ്യങ്ങളെക്കൊണ്ടു വയറു നിറെച്ചു, എന്നെ തള്ളിക്കളഞ്ഞു.

Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon—Hath devoured me Hath vexed me, Hath set me down as an empty vessel, He hath swallowed me like a sea-monster, He hath filled his belly with my dainties, —He hath driven me away!

35 ഞാൻ സഹിച്ച സാഹസവും ദേഹപീഡയും ബാബേലിന്മേൽ വരട്ടെ എന്നു സീയോൻനിവാസിനി പറയും; എന്റെ രക്തം കല്ദയ നിവാസികളുടെമേൽ വരട്ടെ എന്നു യെരൂശലേം പറയും.

The violence done to me and to my flesh, be upon Babylon! Shall the inhabitress of Zion say, —Yea, my blood, be upon the inhabitant of Chaldea! Shall Jerusalem say.

36 അതുകൊണ്ടു യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: ഇതാ, ഞാൻ നിന്റെ വ്യവഹാരം നടത്തി, നിനക്കു വേണ്ടി പ്രതികാരം ചെയ്യും; അതിന്റെ കടൽ ഞാൻ ഉണക്കി, അതിന്റെ ഉറവുകൾ വറ്റിച്ചുകളയും.

Therefore, Thus, saith Yahweh, Behold me! pleading thy cause, So then I will execute the avenging of thee; And will dry up her sea, And make dry her spring:

37 ബാബേൽ, നിവാസികൾ ഇല്ലാതെ കല്ക്കുന്നുകളും കുറുനരികളുടെ പാൎപ്പിടവും വിസ്മയത്തിന്നും ചൂളകുത്തുന്നതിന്നും വിഷയവുമായ്തീരും.

Thus shall Babylon become—Heaps A habitation of jackals An astonishment, and A hissing, Without inhabitant.

38 അവർ ഒക്കെയും ബാലസിംഹങ്ങളെപ്പോലെ ഗൎജ്ജിക്കും; അവർ സിംഹികളുടെ കുട്ടികളെപ്പോലെ മുരളും.

Together, like wild lions, shall they roar, —They have growled like lions’ whelps.

39 അവർ ജയമത്തരായിരിക്കുമ്പോൾ ഉല്ലസിച്ചു ഉണരാതവണ്ണം നിത്യനിദ്ര കൊള്ളേണ്ടതിന്നു ഞാൻ അവൎക്കു ഒരു പാനീയം ഒരുക്കി അവരെ ലഹരി പിടിപ്പിക്കും എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

When they are heated, I will spread their banquets, And let them drink that they may become uproarious, So shall they sleep an age-abiding sleep and not wake, —Declareth Yahweh.

40 ഞാൻ അവരെ കുഞ്ഞാടുകളെപ്പോലെയും മുട്ടാടുകളോടുകൂടി ആട്ടുകൊറ്റന്മാരെപ്പോലെയും കൊലനിലത്തേക്കു ഇറക്കിക്കൊണ്ടുവരും.

I will bring them down As fat lambs to slaughter, —As rams with he-goats.

41 ശേശക്ക് പിടിക്കപ്പെട്ടുപോയതെങ്ങനെ? സൎവ്വഭൂമിയുടെയും പ്രശംസയായിരുന്നതു ശത്രുവശമായ്പോയതെങ്ങനെ? ജാതികളുടെ ഇടയിൽ ബാബേൽ ഒരു സ്തംഭനവിഷയമായ്തീൎന്നതെങ്ങനെ?

How hath Sheshach, been captured! How hath the praise of all the earth been seized! How hath Babylon become an astonishment among the nations!

42 ബാബേലിന്മേൽ കടൽ കവിഞ്ഞുവന്നിരിക്കുന്നു; അതിന്റെ തിരകളുടെ പെരുപ്പംകൊണ്ടു അതു മൂടിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

The sea, hath gone up over Babylon, —With the multitude of its rolling waves, is she covered.

43 അതിന്റെ പട്ടണങ്ങൾ ശൂന്യവും വരണ്ടനിലവും മരുഭൂമിയും ആരും പാൎക്കാത്തതും വഴിനടക്കാത്തതും ആയ ദേശവും ആയിത്തീൎന്നിരിക്കുന്നു.

Her cities have become, an astonishment, A land parched up, and a waste plain, —A land wherein shall no man dwell, Nor pass through them a son of the earth-born!

44 ഞാൻ ബാബേലിൽവെച്ചു ബേലിനെ സന്ദൎശിച്ചു, അവൻ വിഴുങ്ങിയതിനെ അവന്റെ വായിൽനിന്നു പുറത്തിറക്കും; ജാതികൾ ഇനി അവന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ഓടിച്ചെല്ലുകയില്ല; ബാബേലിന്റെ മതിൽ വീണുപോകും.

So will I bring punishment upon Bel in Babylon, And will bring forth what he hath swallowed out of his mouth, And the nations shall stream unto him no more, —Even the wall of Babylon hath fallen!

45 എന്റെ ജനമേ, അതിന്റെ നടുവിൽനിന്നു പുറപ്പെടുവിൻ; യഹോവയുടെ ഉഗ്രകോപത്തിൽനിന്നു നിങ്ങൾ ഓരോരുത്തൻ താന്താന്റെ പ്രാണനെ രക്ഷിച്ചുകൊൾവിൻ.

Come ye forth out of her midst O my people, And deliver ye every man his own life, —Because of the glow of the anger of Yahweh.

46 ദേശത്തു കേൾക്കുന്ന വൎത്തമാനംകൊണ്ടും ഒരു ആണ്ടിൽ ഒരു വൎത്തമാനവും പിറ്റെയാണ്ടിൽ മറ്റൊരു വൎത്തമാനവും കേൾക്കുമ്പോഴും സാഹസകൃത്യങ്ങൾ ദേശത്തു നടക്കുമ്പോഴും അധിപതി അധിപതിക്കു വിരോധമായി എഴുന്നേല്ക്കുമ്പോഴും നിങ്ങളുടെ ധൈൎയ്യം ക്ഷയിച്ചുപോകരുതു; നിങ്ങൾ ഭയപ്പെടുകയും അരുതു.

And let not your heart be timid, nor be ye afraid, Because of the report that is reported in the earth When there shall come in one year, the report And after that in another year, the report, With violence in the earth, and ruler upon ruler.

47 അതുകൊണ്ടു ഞാൻ ബാബേലിലെ വിഗ്രഹങ്ങളെ സന്ദൎശിപ്പാനുള്ള കാലം വരും; അന്നു ദേശമെല്ലാം ലജ്ജിച്ചുപോകും; അതിലെ നിഹതന്മാർ ഒക്കെയും അതിന്റെ നടുവിൽ വീഴും.

Therefore, lo! days coming when I will bring punishment upon the images of Babylon, And all her land, shall turn pale, —Yea, all her wounded, shall fall in her midst.

48 ആകാശവും ഭൂമിയും അവയിലുള്ളതൊക്കെയും ബാബേലിനെച്ചൊല്ലി ഘോഷിച്ചുല്ലസിക്കും; വടക്കുനിന്നു വിനാശകന്മാർ അതിലേക്കു വരും എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

Then shall shout over Babylon—heavens and earth and all who are therein, —For out of the North, shall come to her the spoilers Declareth Yahweh.

49 യിസ്രായേൽ നിഹതന്മാരേ, ബാബേൽ വീഴേണ്ടതാകുന്നു; ബാബേലിനോടുകൂടെ സൎവ്വദേശവും തന്നേ.

Not only hath Babylon, caused the fall of the slain of Israel, —By Babylon, also have fallen the slain of all the earth.

50 വാളിന്നു ഒഴിഞ്ഞുപോയവരേ, നില്ക്കാതെ ചെല്ലുവിൻ; ദൂരത്തുനിന്നു യഹോവയെ ഓൎപ്പിൻ; യെരൂശലേം നിങ്ങൾക്കു ഓൎമ്മ വരട്ടെ!

Ye that have escaped the sword, depart do not stand still, —Remember, from afar Yahweh, Let, Jerusalem, come up on your heart: -

51 ഞങ്ങൾ നിന്ദ കേട്ടു ലജ്ജിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; അന്യന്മാർ യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിന്റെ വിശുദ്ധസ്ഥലങ്ങളിലേക്കു വന്നിരിക്കയാൽ ലജ്ജ ഞങ്ങളുടെ മുഖം മൂടിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

We have turned pale for we have heard a reproach, Confusion, hath covered our faces, —For aliens have entered upon the hallowed places of the house of Yahweh!

52 അതുകൊണ്ടു ഞാൻ അതിലെ വിഗ്രഹങ്ങളെ സന്ദൎശിപ്പാനുള്ള കാലം വരും എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു; അന്നു ദേശത്തെല്ലാടവും നിഹതന്മാർ കിടന്നു ഞരങ്ങും.

Therefore, lo! days are coming, Declareth Yahweh, When I will bring punishment upon her images; And throughout all her land, shall the pierced one groan.

53 ബാബേൽ ആകാശത്തോളം കയറിയാലും കോട്ട ഉയൎത്തി ഉറപ്പിച്ചാലും, ഞാൻ വിനാശകന്മാരെ അതിലേക്കു അയക്കും എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

Though Babylon should mount the heavens, And though she should fortify her strong high-place, From me, should come spoilers unto her Declareth Yahweh.

54 ബാബേലിൽനിന്നു നിലവിളിയും കല്ദയദേശത്തുനിന്നു മഹാനാശവും കേൾക്കുന്നു.

A voice of outcry from Babylon! And a great crash from the land of the Chaldeans!

55 യഹോവ ബാബേലിനെ നശിപ്പിച്ചു അതിൽ നിന്നു മഹാഘോഷം ഇല്ലാതെയാക്കുന്നു; അവരുടെ തിരകൾ പെരുവെള്ളംപോലെ ഇരെക്കുന്നു; അവരുടെ ആരവത്തിന്റെ മുഴക്കം കേൾക്കുന്നു.

For, Yahweh, is spoiling Babylon, And will destroy out of her the loud voice, —Though their waves have roared like many waters, Been uttered the loud boast of their voice.

56 അതിന്റെ നേരെ, ബാബേലിന്റെ നേരെ തന്നേ, വിനാശകൻ വന്നിരിക്കുന്നു; അതിലെ വീരന്മാർ പിടിപെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു; അവരുടെ വില്ലു എല്ലാം ഒടിഞ്ഞുപോയി; യഹോവ പ്രതികാരത്തിന്റെ ദൈവമാകുന്നു; അവൻ പകരം ചെയ്യും.

For there hath come upon her—upon Babylon—a spoiler, And captured are their heroes And broken are their bows, —For, a GOD of recompenses, is Yahweh, He will surely repay.

57 ഞാൻ അതിലെ പ്രഭുക്കന്മാരെയും ജ്ഞാനികളെയും ദേശാധിപതിമാരെയും സ്ഥാനാപതികളെയും വീരന്മാരെയും മത്തുപിടിപ്പിക്കും; അവർ ഉണരാതവണ്ണം നിത്യനിദ്രകൊള്ളും എന്നു സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ എന്നു നാമമുള്ള രാജാവിന്റെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

Then will I make drunk—Her princes and her wise men, Her governors, and her deputies and her heroes, And they shall sleep an age-abiding sleep, and not wake, —Declareth the King, Yahweh of hosts, is his name.

58 സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: ബാബേലിന്റെ വിശാലമായ മതിലുകൾ അശേഷം ഇടിഞ്ഞുപോകും; അതിന്റെ ഉയൎന്ന വാതിലുകൾ തീ പിടിച്ചു വെന്തുപോകും; അങ്ങനെ വംശങ്ങളുടെ അദ്ധ്വാനം വ്യൎത്ഥമായും ജാതികളുടെ പ്രയത്നം തീക്കിരയായും തീരുകയും അവർ ക്ഷീണിച്ചുപോകയും ചെയ്യും.

Thus, saith Yahweh of hosts—The broad walls of Babylon, shall be laid utterly bare, And, her lofty gates, with fire, shall be burned, —And peoples shall labour for emptiness, And populations, for the fire, shall weary themselves.

59 യെഹൂദാരാജാവായ സിദെക്കീയാവിന്റെ വാഴ്ചയുടെ നാലം ആണ്ടിൽ, അവനോടുകൂടെ, മഹ്സേയാവിന്റെ മകനായ നേൎയ്യാവിന്റെ മകനായ സെരായാവു പ്രയാണാദ്ധ്യക്ഷനായി ബാബേലിലേക്കു പോകുമ്പോൾ യിരെമ്യാപ്രവാചകൻ സെരായാവോടു കല്പിച്ചു വചനം -

The word which Jeremiah the prophet commanded Seraiah son of Neriah son of Mahseiah, when he went with Zedekiah king of Judah into Babylon, in the fourth year of his reign, —now Seraiah, was travelling-marshal.

60 ബാബേലിന്നു വരുവാനിരിക്കുന്ന അനൎത്ഥമൊക്കെയും, ബാബേലിനെക്കുറിച്ചു എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്ന സകലവചനങ്ങളും തന്നേ, യിരെമ്യാവു ഒരു പുസ്തകത്തിൽ എഴുതി -

So Jeremiah wrote all the calamity which was to come unto Babylon in one scroll; even all these words which have been written against Babylon.

61 യിരെമ്യാവു സെരായാവോടു പറഞ്ഞതു: നീ ബാബേലിൽ എത്തിയശേഷം ഈ വചനങ്ങൾ ഒക്കെയും നോക്കി വായിച്ചിട്ടു:

Then said Jeremiah unto Seraiah, —When thou comest into Babylon, then shalt thou look out and read all these words;

62 യഹോവേ, ഈ സ്ഥലത്തു മനുഷ്യനോ മൃഗമോ ഒന്നും ശേഷിക്കാതെ അതു ശാശ്വതശൂന്യമായിരിക്കത്തക്കവണ്ണം നീ അതിനെ നശിപ്പിച്ചുകളയുമെന്നു അതിനെക്കുറിച്ചു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തുവല്ലോ എന്നു പറയേണം.

and thou shalt say—O Yahweh! thou, thyself, hast spoken against this place to cut it off, That there be in it no inhabitant Neither man nor beast, —But desolations age-abiding, shall it become!

63 പിന്നെ ഈ പുസ്തകം വായിച്ചശേഷം നീ അതിന്നു ഒരു കല്ലു കെട്ടി ഫ്രാത്തിന്റെ നടുവിലേക്കു എറിഞ്ഞു;

And it shall be when thou hast made an end of reading this scroll, that thou shalt bind thereunto a stone, and cast it in the midst of the Euphrates,

64 ഇങ്ങനെ ബാബേൽ ആണ്ടുപോകും; ഞാൻ അതിന്നു വരുത്തുന്ന അനൎത്ഥത്തിൽനിന്നു അതു പൊങ്ങിവരികയില്ല; അവർ ക്ഷയിച്ചുപോകും എന്നു പറയേണം. ഇത്രത്തോളം യിരെമ്യാവിന്റെ വചനങ്ങൾ.

Then shalt thou say, —In like manner, shall Babylon sink and not rise Because of the calamity which I am about to bring thereupon: So shall they perish. Thus far, are, the words of Jeremiah.
