യിരെമ്യാവു 29

1 യെഖൊന്യാരാജാവും രാജമാതാവും ഷണ്ഡന്മാരും യെഹൂദയിലും യെരൂശലേമിലും ഉള്ള പ്രഭുക്കന്മാരും ശില്പികളും കൊല്ലന്മാരും യെരൂശലേം വിട്ടു പോയശേഷം,

Now these are the words of the letter which Jeremiah the prophet sent to the residue of the elders of the captivity, and to the priests, and to the prophets, and to all the people, whom Nebuchadnezzar had carried away captive from Jerusalem to Babylon,

2 യിരെമ്യാപ്രവാചകൻ ബദ്ധന്മാരുടെ മൂപ്പന്മാരിൽ ശേഷിപ്പുള്ളവൎക്കും പുരോഹിതന്മാൎക്കും പ്രവാചകന്മാൎക്കും നെബൂഖദ്നേസർ യെരൂശലേമിൽ നിന്നു ബാബേലിലേക്കു പിടിച്ചുകൊണ്ടുപോയിരുന്ന സകലജനത്തിന്നും

after the departure of Jeconiah the king, and the queen, and the eunuchs, and the princes of Judah and Jerusalem, and the artificers, and the smiths, from Jerusalem,

3 യെഹൂദാരാജാവായ സിദെക്കീയാവു ബാബേൽരാജാവായ നെബൂഖദ്നേസരിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ബാബേലിലേക്കു അയച്ച ശാഫാന്റെ മകനായ എലാസയുടെയും ഹില്ക്കീയാവിന്റെ മകനായ ഗെമൎയ്യാവിന്റെയും കൈവശം യെരൂശലേമിൽനിന്നു കൊടുത്തയച്ചു ലേഖനത്തിലെ വിവരം എന്തെന്നാൽ:

by the hand of Elasah, the son of Shaphan, and Gemariah, the son of Hilkiah, (whom Zedekiah, the king of Judah, sent to Babylon, to Nebuchadnezzar, the king of Babylon, ) saying: —

4 യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ, താൻ യെരൂശലേമിൽനിന്നു ബാബേലിലേക്കു പിടിച്ചുകൊണ്ടുപോകുമാറാക്കിയ സകലബദ്ധന്മാരോടും ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു:

Thus saith Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel, to all the captives whom I have caused to be carried away from Jerusalem to Babylon:

5 നിങ്ങൾ വീടുകളെ പണിതു പാൎപ്പിൻ; തോട്ടങ്ങളെ ഉണ്ടാക്കി ഫലം അനുഭവിപ്പിൻ.

Build ye houses and dwell in them; and plant gardens and eat the fruit of them.

6 ഭാൎയ്യമാരെ പരിഗ്രഹിച്ചു പുത്രന്മാരെയും പുത്രിമാരെയും ജനിപ്പിപ്പിൻ; നിങ്ങൾ അവിടെ കുറഞ്ഞുപോകാതെ പെരുകേണ്ടതിന്നു പുത്രന്മാൎക്കു ഭാൎയ്യമാരെ എടുക്കയും പുത്രിമാരെ പുരുഷന്മാൎക്കു കൊടുക്കയും ചെയ്‌വിൻ; അവരും പുത്രന്മാരെയും പുത്രിമാരെയും ജനിപ്പിക്കട്ടെ.

Take ye wives, and have sons and daughters; and take wives for your sons, and give your daughters to husbands, that they may bear sons and daughters; and increase ye there, and be not diminished.

7 ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളെ ബദ്ധന്മാരായി കൊണ്ടുപോകുമാറാക്കിയ പട്ടണത്തിന്റെ നന്മ അന്വേഷിച്ചു അതിന്നുവേണ്ടി യഹോവയോടു പ്രാൎത്ഥിപ്പിൻ; അതിന്നു നന്മ ഉണ്ടെങ്കിൽ നിങ്ങൾക്കും നന്മ ഉണ്ടാകും.

And seek ye the peace of the city whither I have caused you to be carried away captive, and pray for it to Jehovah, for in its peace shall be your peace.

8 യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയിലുള്ള നിങ്ങളുടെ പ്രവാചകന്മാരും പ്രശ്നക്കാരും നിങ്ങളെ ചതിക്കരുതു; നിങ്ങൾ കാണുന്ന സ്വപ്നങ്ങളെ കൂട്ടാക്കുകയും അരുതു.

For thus saith Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel: Let not your prophets and your diviners, who are in the midst of you, deceive you, neither hearken to your dreams which ye cause to be dreamed.

9 അവർ എന്റെ നാമത്തിൽ നിങ്ങളോടു ഭോഷ്കു പ്രവചിക്കുന്നു; ഞാൻ അവരെ അയച്ചിട്ടില്ല എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

For they prophesy falsely to you in my name; I have not sent them, saith Jehovah.

10 യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: ബാബേലിലെ എഴുപതു സംവത്സരം കഴിഞ്ഞശേഷമേ ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളെ സന്ദൎശിച്ചു ഈ സ്ഥലത്തേക്കു മടക്കിവരുത്തുമെന്നു നിങ്ങളോടുള്ള എന്റെ വചനം ഞാൻ നിവൎത്തിക്കയുള്ളു.

For thus saith Jehovah: Surely, when seventy years shall be completed for Babylon, I will visit you, and I will perform for you my good promise, that I would bring you again to this place.

11 നിങ്ങൾ പ്രത്യാശിക്കുന്ന ശുഭഭാവി വരുവാൻ തക്കവണ്ണം ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളെക്കുറിച്ചു നിരൂപിക്കുന്ന നിരൂപണങ്ങൾ ഇന്നവ എന്നു ഞാൻ അറിയുന്നു; അവ തിന്മെക്കല്ല നന്മെക്കത്രേയുള്ള നിരൂപണങ്ങൾ എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

For I know the designs which I have in mind concerning you, designs of good and not of evil, to give you a happy end, and fulfill your hopes.

12 നിങ്ങൾ എന്നോടു അപേക്ഷിച്ചു എന്റെ സന്നിധിയിൽവന്നു പ്രാൎത്ഥിക്കയും ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളുടെ പ്രാൎത്ഥന കേൾക്കയും ചെയ്യും

Then ye shall call upon me, and go in peace; ye shall pray to me, and I will hear you;

13 നിങ്ങൾ എന്നെ അന്വേഷിക്കും; പൂൎണ്ണഹൃദയത്തോടെ അന്വേഷിക്കുമ്പോൾ നിങ്ങൾ എന്നെ കണ്ടെത്തും.

ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye search for me with all your heart.

14 നിങ്ങൾ എന്നെ കണ്ടെത്തുവാൻ ഞാൻ ഇടയാക്കും എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു; ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളുടെ പ്രവാസം മാറ്റും; ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളെ നീക്കിക്കളഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്ന സകലജാതികളിൽനിന്നും എല്ലായിടങ്ങളിലുംനിന്നും നിങ്ങളെ ശേഖരിച്ചു ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളെ വിട്ടുപോകുമാറാക്കിയ സ്ഥലത്തേക്കു തന്നേ മടക്കിവരുത്തും എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

And I will be found by you, saith Jehovah, and I will bring you back from captivity, and I will gather you from all the nations, and from all the places whither I have driven you, saith Jehovah; and I will bring you again to the place whence I caused you to be carried away captive.

15 യഹോവ ഞങ്ങൾക്കു ബാബേലിൽ പ്രവാചകന്മാരെ എഴുന്നേല്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു നിങ്ങൾ പറയുന്നുവല്ലോ.

Since ye say, Jehovah hath raised us up prophets in Babylon,

16 ദാവീദിന്റെ സിംഹാസനത്തിൽ ഇരിക്കുന്ന രാജാവിനെക്കുറിച്ചും ഈ നഗരത്തിൽ പാൎക്കുന്ന സകലജനത്തേയുംകുറിച്ചും നിങ്ങളോടുകൂടെ പ്രവാസത്തിലേക്കു വരാത്ത നിങ്ങളുടെ സഹോദരന്മാരെക്കുറിച്ചും യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു.

behold, thus saith Jehovah concerning the king that sitteth upon the throne of David, and concerning all the people that dwell in this city, your brethren that went not forth with you into captivity, —

17 അതേ, സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: ഇതാ, ഞാൻ അവൎക്കു വാളും ക്ഷമവും മഹാമാരിയും അയച്ചു, എത്രയും ആകാത്തതും തിന്നുകൂടാതവണ്ണം ചീത്തയും ആയ അത്തിപ്പഴത്തിന്നു അവരെ സമമാക്കും.

thus saith Jehovah of hosts: Behold, I will send upon them the sword, the famine, and the pestilence, and I will make them like vile figs, which cannot be eaten for badness.

18 ഞാൻ അവരെ വാൾകൊണ്ടും ക്ഷാമംകൊണ്ടും മഹാമാരികൊണ്ടും വേട്ടയാടി ഭൂതലത്തിലെ സകലരാജ്യങ്ങൾക്കും ഭയഹേതുവും ഞാൻ അവരെ നീക്കിക്കളഞ്ഞ സകലജാതികളുടെയും ഇടയിൽ ഒരു ശാപവാക്യവും സ്തംഭനഹേതുവും പരിഹാസവിഷയവും നിന്ദയും ആക്കും.

And I will persecute them with the sword, and with famine, and with pestilence, and I will give them up to oppression in all kingdoms of the earth, to be a curse, and an astonishment, and a hissing, and a reproach, among all the nations whither I drive them;

19 പ്രവാചകന്മാരായ എന്റെ ദാസന്മാർമുഖാന്തരം ഞാൻ പറഞ്ഞയച്ച വചനങ്ങളെ അവർ കേൾക്കായ്കകൊണ്ടു തന്നേ എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു; ഞാൻ ഇടവിടാതെ അവരെ അയച്ചിട്ടും നിങ്ങൾ കേട്ടില്ല എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

because they have not hearkened to my words, saith Jehovah, when I sent to them my servants, the prophets, rising early and sending them; but ye would not hear, saith Jehovah.

20 അതുകൊണ്ടു ഞാൻ യെരൂശലേമിൽനിന്നു ബാബേലിലേക്കു അയച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന സകല പ്രവാസികളുമായുള്ളോരേ, നിങ്ങൾ യഹോവയുടെ വചനം കേൾപ്പിൻ!

Hear ye, therefore, the word of Jehovah, all ye of the captivity, whom I have sent from Jerusalem to Babylon.

21 എന്റെ നാമത്തിൽ നിങ്ങളോടു ഭോഷ്കു പ്രവചിക്കുന്ന കോലായാവിന്റെ മകനായ ആഹാബിനെക്കുറിച്ചും, മയസേയാവിന്റെ മകനായ സിദെക്കിയാവെക്കുറിച്ചും, യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: ഞാൻ അവരെ ബാബേൽരാജാവായ നെബൂഖദ്നേസരിന്റെ കയ്യിൽ ഏല്പിക്കും; നിങ്ങൾ കാൺകെ അവൻ അവരെ കൊന്നുകളയും.

Thus saith Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel, concerning Ahab, the son of Kolaiah, and concerning Zedekiah, the son of Maaseiah, who prophesy a lie to you in my name: Behold, I will deliver them into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon, and he shall slay them before your eyes.

22 ബാബേൽരാജാവു തീയിൽ ഇട്ടു ചുട്ടുകളഞ്ഞ സിദെക്കീയാവെപ്പോലെയും ആഹാബിനെപ്പോലെയും യഹോവ നിന്നെ ആക്കട്ടെ എന്നു ബാബേലിലുള്ള യെഹൂദാപ്രവാസിളെല്ലാം ഒരു ശാപവാക്യം അവരെച്ചൊല്ലിപറയും.

And from them shall be taken a curse among all the captives of Judah that are at Babylon, so that they shall say, “Jehovah make thee like Zedekiah and like Ahab, whom the king of Babylon roasted in the fire!”

23 അവർ യിസ്രായേലിൽ വഷളത്വം പ്രവൎത്തിച്ചു തങ്ങളുടെ കൂട്ടുകാരുടെ ഭാൎയ്യമാരോടു വ്യഭിചാരം ചെയ്കയും ഞാൻ അവരോടു കല്പിച്ചിട്ടില്ലാത്ത വചനം വ്യാജമായി എന്റെ നാമത്തിൽ പ്രസ്താവിക്കയും ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു; ഞാൻ അതു അറിയുന്നു, സാക്ഷിയും ആകുന്നു എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

because they have practised villany in Israel, and have committed adultery with their neighbors' wives, and have spoken lying words in my name, which I commanded them not. But I know it, and am a witness, saith Jehovah.

24 നെഹെലാമ്യനായ ശെമയ്യാവോടു നീ പറയേണ്ടതു:

And to Shemaiah, the Nehelamite, shalt thou say,

25 യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: നീ യെരൂശലേമിലെ സകലജനത്തിന്നും മയസേയാവിന്റെ മകനായ സെഫന്യാപുരോഹിതന്നും സകലപുരോഹിതന്മാൎക്കും നിന്റെ പേരുവെച്ചു അയച്ച എഴുത്തുകളിൽ:

Thus saith Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel: Because thou hast sent letters in thy name to all the people that are at Jerusalem, and to Zephaniah, the son of Maaseiah the priest, and to all the priests, saying,

26 നിങ്ങൾ യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിൽ ഭ്രാന്തുപിടിച്ചു പ്രവചിക്കുന്ന എതു മനുഷ്യനെയും പിടിച്ചു ആമത്തിലും വിലങ്ങിലും ഇടേണ്ടതിന്നു യഹോവ നിന്നെ യഹോയാദാപുരോഹിതന്നു പകരം പുരോഹിതനാക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

Jehovah hath made thee priest in the room of Jehoiada the priest, that there should be officers in the house of Jehovah against every one that is mad and prophesieth, and that thou shouldst put him into the stocks, and into prison;

27 ആകയാൽ നിങ്ങളോടു പ്രവചിക്കുന്ന അനാഥോത്തുകാരനായ യിരെമ്യാവെ നീ ശാസിക്കാതെ ഇരിക്കുന്നതെന്തു?

now, therefore, why hast thou not reproved Jeremiah of Anathoth, who prophesieth to you?

28 അതുകൊണ്ടല്ലോ അവൻ ബാബേലിൽ ഞങ്ങൾക്കു ആളയച്ചു: ഈ പ്രവാസം ദീൎഘം ആയിരിക്കും; നിങ്ങൾ വീടുകളെ പണിതു പാൎപ്പിൻ; തോട്ടങ്ങളെ ഉണ്ടാക്കി ഫലം അനുഭവിപ്പിൻ എന്നു പറയിച്ചതു? എന്നു പ്രസ്താവിച്ചുവല്ലോ.

For he hath sent to us at Babylon, saying, This captivity is long. Build ye houses and dwell in them, and plant gardens, and eat the fruit of them.

29 ഈ എഴുത്തു സെഫന്യാപുരോഹിതൻ യിരെമ്യാപ്രവാചകൻ കേൾക്കെ വായിച്ചിരുന്നു.

And Zephaniah the priest read this letter in the ears of Jeremiah the prophet.

30 അപ്പോൾ യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു യിരെമ്യാവിന്നുണ്ടായതെന്തെന്നാൽ:

Then came the word of Jehovah to Jeremiah, saying:

31 നീ സകലപ്രവാസികൾക്കും ആളയച്ചു, നെഹെലാമ്യനായ ശെമയ്യാവെക്കുറിച്ചു പറയിക്കേണ്ടതു; യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: ശെമയ്യാവെ ഞാൻ അയക്കാതെ ഇരുന്നിട്ടും അവൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പ്രവചിച്ചു നിങ്ങളെ ഭോഷ്കിൽ ആശ്രയിക്കുമാറാക്കിയതുകൊണ്ടു

Send to all those of the captivity, saying, Thus saith Jehovah concerning Shemaiah the Nehelamite: Because Shemaiah the prophet hath prophesied to you, and I sent him not, and he hath caused you to trust in a lie,

32 യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: ഞാൻ നെഹെലാമ്യനായ ശെമയ്യാവെയും അവന്റെ സന്തതിയെയും സന്ദൎശിക്കും; ഈ ജനത്തിന്റെ മദ്ധ്യേ പാൎപ്പാൻ അവന്നു ആരും ഉണ്ടാകയില്ല; എന്റെ ജനത്തിന്നു ഞാൻ വരുത്തുവാനിരിക്കുന്ന നന്മ അവൻ അനുഭവിക്കയുമില്ല; അവൻ യഹോവെക്കു വിരോധമായി ദ്രോഹം സംസാരിച്ചുവല്ലോ എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

therefore thus saith Jehovah: Behold, I will punish Shemaiah, the Nehelamite, and his offspring. There shall descend from him not a man to dwell among this people, and he shall not behold the good which I will do for my people, saith Jehovah; for he hath spoken rebellion against Jehovah.
