യെശയ്യാവ് 40
1 എന്റെ ജനത്തെ ആശ്വസിപ്പിപ്പിൻ, ആശ്വസിപ്പിപ്പിൻ എന്നു നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു.
“Comfort, comfort my people,” says your God.
2 യെരൂശലേമിനോടു ആദരവോടെ സംസാരിച്ചു: അവളുടെ യുദ്ധ സേവ കഴിഞ്ഞും അവളുടെ അകൃത്യം മോചിക്കപ്പെട്ടും അവൾ തന്റെ സകലപാപങ്ങൾക്കും പകരം യഹോവയുടെ കയ്യിൽനിന്നു ഇരട്ടിയായി പ്രാപിച്ചുമിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു അവളോടു വിളിച്ചുപറവിൻ.
“Speak comfortably to Jerusalem [City of peace]; and call out to her that her warfare is accomplished, that her depravity (moral evil) is pardoned, that she has received of Adonai’s hand double for all her habitual sins ·missing the marks·.”
3 കേട്ടോ ഒരുത്തൻ വിളിച്ചുപറയുന്നതു: മരുഭൂമിയിൽ യഹോവെക്കു വഴി ഒരുക്കുവിൻ; നിൎജ്ജനപ്രദേശത്തു നമ്മുടെ ദൈവത്തിന്നു ഒരു പെരുവഴി നിരപ്പാക്കുവിൻ.
The voice of one who calls out, “Prepare the way of Adonai in the wilderness! Make a level highway in the desert for our God.
4 എല്ലാ താഴ്വരയും നികന്നും എല്ലാമലയും കുന്നും താണും വരേണം; വളഞ്ഞതു ചൊവ്വായും ദുൎഘടങ്ങൾ സമമായും തീരേണം.
Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low. The uneven shall be made level, and the rough places a plain.
5 യഹോവയുടെ മഹത്വം വെളിപ്പെടും, സകലജഡവും ഒരുപോലെ അതിനെ കാണും; യഹോവയുടെ വായല്ലോ അരുളിച്ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നതു.
Adonai’s kavod ·weighty glory· shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together; for the mouth of Adonai has spoken it.”
6 കേട്ടോ, വിളിച്ചുപറക എന്നു ഒരുത്തൻ പറയുന്നു; എന്തു വിളിച്ചുപറയേണ്ടു എന്നു ഞാൻ ചോദിച്ചു; സകലജഡവും പുല്ലുപോലെയും അതിന്റെ ഭംഗിയെല്ലാം വയലിലെ പൂപോലെയും ആകുന്നു.
The voice of one saying, “Cry!” One said, “What shall I cry?” “All flesh is like grass, and all its chesed ·loving-kindness· is like the flower of the field.
7 യഹോവയുടെ ശ്വാസം അതിന്മേൽ ഊതുകയാൽ പുല്ലുണങ്ങുന്നു. പൂ വാടുന്നു; അതേ ജനം പുല്ലുതന്നേ.
The grass withers, the flower fades, because Adonai’s breath blows on it. Surely the people are like grass.
8 പുല്ലുണങ്ങുന്നു, പൂ വാടുന്നു; നമ്മുടെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ വചനമോ എന്നേക്കും നിലനില്ക്കും.
The grass withers, the flower fades; but the word of our God stands forever.”
9 സുവാൎത്താദൂതിയായ സീയോനേ, നീ ഉയൎന്നപൎവ്വതത്തിലേക്കു കയറിച്ചെല്ലുക; സുവാൎത്താദൂതിയായ യെരൂശലേമേ, നിന്റെ ശബ്ദം ശക്തിയോടെ ഉയൎത്തുക; ഭയപ്പെടാതെ ഉയൎത്തുക; യെഹൂദാനഗരങ്ങളോടു: ഇതാ, നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവം എന്നു പറക.
You who tell good news to Zion [Mountain ridge, Marking], go up on a high mountain. You who tell good news to Jerusalem [City of peace], lift up your voice with strength. Lift it up. Don’t be afraid. Say to the cities of Judah [Praised], “Behold, your God!”
10 ഇതാ, യഹോവയായ കൎത്താവു ബലശാലിയായി വരുന്നു; അവന്റെ ഭുജം അവന്നു വേണ്ടി ഭരണം ചെയ്യുന്നു; ഇതാ, കൂലി അവന്റെ പക്കലും പ്രതിഫലം അവന്റെ കയ്യിലും ഉണ്ടു.
Behold, 'Adonay Adonai [Lord Yahweh] will come as a mighty one, and his arm will rule for him. Behold, his reward is with him, and his recompense before him.
11 ഒരു ഇടയനെപ്പോലെ അവൻ തന്റെ ആട്ടിൻകൂട്ടത്തെ മേയിക്കയും കുഞ്ഞാടുകളെ ഭുജത്തിൽ എടുത്തു മാൎവ്വിടത്തിൽ ചേൎത്തു വഹിക്കയും തള്ളകളെ പതുക്കെ നടത്തുകയും ചെയ്യും.
He will feed his flock like a shepherd. He will gather the lambs in his arm, and carry them in his bosom. He will gently lead those who have their young.
12 തന്റെ ഉള്ളങ്കൈകൊണ്ടു വെള്ളം അളക്കുകയും ചാണുകൊണ്ടു ആകാശത്തിന്റെ പരിമാണമെടുക്കയും ഭൂമിയുടെ പൊടി നാഴിയിൽ കൊള്ളിക്കയും പൎവ്വതങ്ങൾ വെള്ളിക്കോൽകൊണ്ടും കുന്നുകൾ തുലാസിലും തൂക്കുകയും ചെയ്തവൻ ആർ?
Who has measured the waters in the hollow of his hand, and marked off the sky with his span [9 in; 22.86 cm], and calculated the dust of the earth in a measuring basket, and weighed the mountains in scales, and the hills in a balance?
13 യഹോവയുടെ മനസ്സു ആരാഞ്ഞറികയോ അവന്നു മന്ത്രിയായി അവനെ ഗ്രഹിപ്പിക്കയോ ചെയ്തവനാർ?
Who has directed Ruach Yahweh [Spirit, Breath of He sustains breathing] or has taught him as his counselor?
14 അവനെ ഉപദേശിച്ചു ന്യായത്തിന്റെ പാതയെ പഠിപ്പിക്കയും അവനെ പരിജ്ഞാനം പഠിപ്പിച്ചു വിവേകത്തിന്റെ മാൎഗ്ഗം കാണിക്കയും ചെയ്തുകൊടുക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അവൻ ആരോടാകുന്നു ആലോചന കഴിച്ചതു?
Who did he take counsel with, and who instructed him, and taught him in the path of mishpat ·justice·, and taught him knowledge, and showed him the way of understanding?
15 ഇതാ ജാതികൾ തുലാക്കൊട്ടയിലെ ഒരു തുള്ളിപോലെയും, തുലാസിലെ ഒരു പൊടിപോലെയും അവന്നു തോന്നുന്നു; ഇതാ, അവൻ ദ്വീപുകളെ ഒരു മണൽതരിയെപ്പോലെ എടുത്തു പൊക്കുന്നു.
Behold, the nations are like a drop in a bucket, and are regarded as a speck of dust on a balance. Behold, he lifts up the islands like a very little thing.
16 ലെബാനോൻ വിറകിന്നു പോരാ; അതിലെ മൃഗങ്ങൾ ഹോമയാഗത്തിന്നു മതിയാകുന്നില്ല.
Lebanon is not sufficient to burn, nor its animals sufficient for a burnt offering.
17 സകലജാതികളും അവന്നു ഏതുമില്ലാത്തതുപോലെ ഇരിക്കുന്നു; അവന്നു വെറുമയും ശൂന്യവുമായി തോന്നുന്നു.
All the nations are like nothing before him. They are regarded by him as less than nothing, and vanity.
18 ആകയാൽ നിങ്ങൾ ദൈവത്തെ ആരോടു ഉപമിക്കും? ഏതു പ്രതിമയെ നിങ്ങൾ അവനോടു സദൃശമാക്കും?
To whom then will you liken God? Or what likeness will you compare to him?
19 മൂശാരി വിഗ്രഹം വാൎക്കുന്നു; തട്ടാൻ പൊന്നുകൊണ്ടു പൊതികയും അതിന്നു വെള്ളിച്ചങ്ങല തീൎക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു.
A workman has cast an image, and the goldsmith overlays it with gold, and casts silver chains for it.
20 ഇങ്ങിനെയുള്ള പ്രതിഷ്ഠെക്കു വകയില്ലാത്തവൻ ദ്രവിച്ചുപോകാത്ത ഒരു മരക്കണ്ടം തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കയും ഇളകാത്ത വിഗ്രഹം കൊത്തിയുണ്ടാക്കി നിൎത്തുവാൻ ഒരു ശില്പിയെ അന്വേഷിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നു.
He who is too impoverished for such an offering chooses a tree that will not rot. He seeks a skillful workman to set up an engraved image for him that will not be moved.
21 നിങ്ങൾക്കു അറിഞ്ഞുകൂടയോ? നിങ്ങൾ കേട്ടിട്ടില്ലയോ? ആദിമുതൽ നിങ്ങളോടു അറിയിച്ചിട്ടില്ലയോ? ഭൂമിയുടെ അടിസ്ഥാനങ്ങളാൽ നിങ്ങൾ ഗ്രഹിച്ചിട്ടില്ലയോ?
Haven’t you known? Haven’t you sh'ma ·heard obeyed·, yet? Haven’t you been told from the beginning? Haven’t you understood from the foundations of the earth?
22 അവൻ ഭൂമണ്ഡലത്തിന്മീതെ അധിവസിക്കുന്നു; അതിലെ നിവാസികൾ വെട്ടുക്കിളികളെപ്പോലെ ഇരിക്കുന്നു; അവൻ ആകാശത്തെ ഒരു തിരശ്ശീലപോലെ നിവൎക്കുകയും പാൎപ്പാനുള്ള ഒരു കൂടാരത്തെപ്പോലെ വിരിക്കയും
It is he who sits above the circle of the earth, and its inhabitants are like grasshoppers; who stretches out the heavens like a curtain, and spreads them out like a tent to dwell in;
23 പ്രഭുക്കന്മാരെ ഇല്ലാതെയാക്കുകയും ഭൂമിയിലെ ന്യായാധിപന്മാരെ ശൂന്യമാക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു.
who brings princes to nothing; who makes the judges of the earth like meaningless.
24 അവരെ നട്ട ഉടനെ, അവരെ വിതെച്ച ഉടനെ അവർ നിലത്തു വേരൂന്നിത്തുടങ്ങിയ ഉടനെ അവൻ അവരുടെമേൽ ഊതി അവർ വാടിപ്പോകയും ചുഴലിക്കാറ്റുകൊണ്ടു താളടിപോലെ പാറിപ്പോകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു.
They are planted scarcely. They are sown scarcely. Their stock has scarcely taken root in the ground. He merely blows on them, and they wither, and the whirlwind takes them away as stubble.
25 ആകയാൽ നിങ്ങൾ എന്നെ ആരോടു സദൃശമാക്കും? ഞാൻ ആരോടു തുല്യനാകും എന്നു പരിശുദ്ധനായവൻ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു.
“To whom then will you liken me? Who is my equal?” says the Holy One.
26 നിങ്ങൾ കണ്ണു മേലോട്ടു ഉയൎത്തി നോക്കുവിൻ; ഇവയെ സൃഷ്ടിച്ചതാർ? അവൻ അവയുടെ സൈന്യത്തെ സംഖ്യാക്രമത്തിൽ പുറപ്പെടുവിക്കയും അവയെ എല്ലാം പേർ ചൊല്ലി വിളിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നു; അവന്റെ വീൎയ്യമാഹാത്മ്യംനിമിത്തവും അവന്റെ ശക്തിയുടെ ആധിക്യംനിമിത്തവും അവയിൽ ഒന്നും കുറഞ്ഞു കാണുകയില്ല.
Lift up your eyes on high, and see who has created these, who brings out their army by number. He calls them all by name. By the greatness of his might, and because he is strong in power, Not one is lacking.
27 എന്നാൽ എന്റെ വഴി യഹോവെക്കു മറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു; എന്റെ ന്യായം എന്റെ ദൈവം കാണാതെ കടന്നുപോയിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു, യാക്കോബേ, നീ പറകയും യിസ്രായേലേ, നീ സംസാരിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നതെന്തു?
Why do you say, Jacob [Supplanter], and speak, Israel [God prevails], “My way is hidden from Adonai, and the mishpat ·justice· due to me is passed over by my God?”
28 നിനക്കറിഞ്ഞുകൂടയോ? നീ കേട്ടിട്ടില്ലയോ? യഹോവ നിത്യദൈവം; ഭൂമിയുടെ അറുതികളെ സൃഷ്ടിച്ചവൻ തന്നേ; അവൻ ക്ഷീണിക്കുന്നില്ല, തളൎന്നുപോകുന്നതുമില്ല; അവന്റെ ബുദ്ധി അപ്രമേയമത്രേ.
Haven’t you known? Haven’t you sh'ma ·heard obeyed·? The everlasting God, Adonai, The Creator of the ends of the earth, does not faint. He is not weary. His understanding is unsearchable.
29 അവൻ ക്ഷീണിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നവന്നു ശക്തി നല്കുന്നു; ബലമില്ലാത്തവന്നു ബലം വൎദ്ധിപ്പിക്കുന്നു.
He gives power to the weak. He increases the strength of him who has no might.
30 ബാല്യക്കാർ ക്ഷീണിച്ചു തളൎന്നുപോകും; യൌവനക്കാരും ഇടറിവീഴും.
Even the youths faint and get weary, and the young men utterly fall;
31 എങ്കിലും യഹോവയെ കാത്തിരിക്കുന്നവർ ശക്തിയെ പുതുക്കും; അവർ കഴുകന്മാരെപ്പോലെ ചിറകു അടിച്ചു കയറും; അവർ തളൎന്നുപോകാതെ ഓടുകയും ക്ഷീണിച്ചുപോകാതെ നടക്കുകയും ചെയ്യും.
But those who wait for Adonai will renew their strength. They will mount up with wings like eagles. They will run, and not be weary. They will walk, and not faint.
