യെശയ്യാവ് 29

1 അയ്യോ, അരീയേലേ, അരീയേലേ! ദാവീദ് പാളയമിറങ്ങിയിരുന്ന നഗരമേ! ആണ്ടോടു ആണ്ടു കൂട്ടുവിൻ; ഉത്സവങ്ങൾ മുറെക്കു വന്നുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കട്ടെ.

Woe to Ariel, Ariel, the city where David encamped! Add year to year; let the festivals come round.

2 എന്നാൽ ഞാൻ അരീയേലിനെ ഞെരുക്കും; ദുഃഖവും വിലാപവും ഉണ്ടാകും; അതു എനിക്കു അരീയേലായി തന്നേ ഇരിക്കും.

But I will besiege Ariel, and she will be mourning and lamenting; and she will be to me like Ariel.

3 ഞാൻ നിനക്കു വിരോധമായി ചുറ്റും പാളയമിറങ്ങി വാടകോരി നിന്നെ നിരോധിക്കയും നിന്റെ നേരെ കൊത്തളം ഉണ്ടാക്കുകയും ചെയ്യും.

I will encamp against you in a circle and will lay siege against you with a palisade, and I will raise siege works against you.

4 അപ്പോൾ നീ താണു, നിലത്തുനിന്നു സംസാരിക്കും; നിന്റെ വാക്കു പൊടിയിൽനിന്നു പതുക്കെ വരും; വെളിച്ചപ്പാടന്റേതുപോലെ നിന്റെ ഒച്ച നിലത്തുനിന്നു വരും; നിന്റെ വാക്കു പൊടിയിൽനിന്നു ചിലെക്കും.

You will be brought down and will speak from the ground; your speech will be low from the dust. Your voice will sound like a spirit that speaks from the ground, and out of the dust your speech will whisper.

5 നിന്റെ ശത്രുക്കളുടെ സംഘം നേരിയ പൊടിപോലെയും നിഷ്കണ്ടകന്മാരുടെ കൂട്ടം, പാറിപ്പോകുന്ന പതിർപോലെയും ഇരിക്കും; അതു ഒരു ക്ഷണമാത്രകൊണ്ടു പെട്ടെന്നു സംഭവിക്കും.

The great number of your invaders will become like fine dust, and the multitude of the ruthless ones as chaff that passes away. It will happen suddenly, in an instant.

6 ഇടിമുഴക്കത്തോടും ഭൂകമ്പത്തോടും മഹാനാദത്തോടും കൂടെ ചുഴലിക്കാറ്റും കൊടുങ്കാറ്റും ദഹിപ്പിക്കുന്ന അഗ്നിജ്വാലയുമായി അതു സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവയാൽ സന്ദൎശിക്കപ്പെടും.

Yahweh of hosts will come to you with thunder, earthquake, great noise, with strong winds and violent storm, and the flames of a devouring fire.

7 അരീയേലിന്റെ നേരെ യുദ്ധം ചെയ്യുന്ന സകലജാതികളുടെയും കൂട്ടം അതിന്നും അതിന്റെ കോട്ടെക്കും നേരെ യുദ്ധം ചെയ്തു അതിനെ വിഷമിപ്പിക്കുന്ന ഏവരും തന്നേ, ഒരു സ്വപ്നംപോലെ, ഒരു രാത്രിദൎശനംപോലെ ആകും.

It will be like a dream, a vision of the night: A horde of all the nations will fight against Ariel and her stronghold. They will attack her and her fortifications to press upon her.

8 വിശന്നിരിക്കുന്നവൻ താൻ ഭക്ഷിക്കുന്നു എന്നു സ്വപ്നം കണ്ടിട്ടു ഉണരുമ്പോൾ വിശന്നിരിക്കുന്നതുപോലെയും ദാഹിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നവൻ താൻ പാനംചെയ്യുന്നു എന്നു സ്വപ്നം കണ്ടിട്ടു ഉണരുമ്പോൾ ക്ഷീണിച്ചും ദാഹിച്ചും ഇരിക്കുന്നതുപോലെയും സീയോൻ പൎവ്വതത്തോടു യുദ്ധം ചെയ്യുന്ന സകലജാതികളുടെയും കൂട്ടം ഇരിക്കും.

It will be like when a hungry man dreams he is eating, but when he awakes, his stomach is empty. It will be like when a thirsty man dreams that he is drinking, but he when he awakes, he is fainting, with his thirst not quenched. Yes, so will be the great number of nations that fights against Mount Zion.

9 വിസ്മയിച്ചു സ്തംഭിച്ചുപോകുവിൻ; അന്ധതപിടിച്ചു കുരുടരായിത്തീരുവിൻ; അവർ മത്തരായിരിക്കുന്നു. വീഞ്ഞുകൊണ്ടല്ലതാനും; അവർ ചാഞ്ചാടിനടക്കുന്നു; മദ്യപാനംകൊണ്ടല്ലതാനും.

Astonish yourselves and be astonished; blind yourselves and be blind! Be drunk, but not with wine; stagger, but not with beer.

10 യഹോവ ഗാഢനിദ്ര നിങ്ങളുടെമേൽ പകൎന്നു നിങ്ങളുടെ കണ്ണുകളെ അടെച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; അവൻ പ്രവാചകന്മാൎക്കും നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൎശകന്മാരായ തലവന്മാൎക്കും മൂടുപടം ഇട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു.

For Yahweh has poured out on you the spirit of deep sleep. He has closed your eyes, the prophets, and has covered your heads, the seers.

11 അങ്ങനെ നിങ്ങൾക്കു സകലദൎശനവും മുദ്രയിട്ടിരിക്കുന്ന ഒരു പുസ്തകത്തിലെ വചനങ്ങൾ പോലെ ആയിത്തീൎന്നിരിക്കുന്നു; അതിനെ അക്ഷരവിദ്യയുള്ള ഒരുത്തന്റെ കയ്യിൽ കൊടുത്തു: ഇതൊന്നു വായിക്കേണം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞാൽ അവൻ: എനിക്കു വഹിയാ; അതിന്നു മുദ്രയിട്ടിരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ എന്നു പറയും.

All revelation has become to you as the words of a book that is sealed, which men might give to one who is learned, saying, “Read this.” He also says, “I cannot, for it is sealed.”

12 അല്ല, ആ പുസ്തകം അക്ഷരവിദ്യയില്ലാത്തവന്റെ കയ്യിൽ കൊടുത്തു: ഇതൊന്നു വായിക്കേണം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞാൽ അവൻ: എനിക്കു അക്ഷര വിദ്യയില്ല എന്നു പറയും.

If the book is given to one who cannot read, saying, “Read this,” he says, “I cannot read.”

13 ഈ ജനം അടുത്തു വന്നു വായ് കോണ്ടും അധരംകൊണ്ടും എന്നെ ബഹുമാനിക്കുന്നു; എങ്കിലും തങ്ങളുടെ ഹൃദയത്തെ അവർ എങ്കൽനിന്നു ദൂരത്തു അകറ്റി വെച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; എന്നോടുള്ള അവരുടെ ഭക്തി, മനഃപാഠമാക്കിയ മാനുഷകല്പനയത്രെ.

The Lord said, “This people comes close to me with their mouths and honors me with their lips, but their heart is far from me. Their honor for me is only a commandment of men that has been taught.

14 ഇതു കാരണത്താൽ ഞാൻ ഈ ജനത്തിന്റെ ഇടയിൽ ഇനിയും ഒരു അത്ഭുതപ്രവൃത്തി, അത്ഭുതവും ആശ്ചൎയ്യവും ആയോരു പ്രവൃത്തി തന്നേ, ചെയ്യും; അവരുടെ ജ്ഞാനികളുടെ ജ്ഞാനം നശിക്കും; അവരുടെ ബുദ്ധിമാന്മാരുടെ ബുദ്ധിയും മറഞ്ഞുപോകും എന്നു കൎത്താവു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.

Therefore, see, I will proceed to do a marvelous thing among this people, wonder after wonder. The wisdom of their wise men will perish, and the understanding of their prudent men will disappear.”

15 തങ്ങളുടെ ആലോചനയെ യഹോവെക്കു അഗാധമായി മറെച്ചുവെക്കുവാൻ നോക്കുകയും തങ്ങളുടെ പ്രവൃത്തികളെ അന്ധകാരത്തിൽ ചെയ്കയും: ഞങ്ങളെ ആർ കാണുന്നു? ഞങ്ങളെ ആർ അറിയുന്നു എന്നു പറകയും ചെയ്യുന്നവൎക്കു അയ്യോ കഷ്ടം!

Woe to those who deeply hide their plans from Yahweh, and whose deeds are in darkness. They say, “Who sees us, and who knows us?”

16 അയ്യോ, ഇതെന്തൊരു മറിവു! കുശവനും കളിമണ്ണും ഒരുപോലെ എന്നു വിചാരിക്കാമോ? ഉണ്ടായതു ഉണ്ടാക്കിയവനെക്കുറിച്ചു: അവൻ എന്നെ ഉണ്ടാക്കീട്ടില്ല എന്നും, ഉരുവായതു ഉരുവാക്കിയവനെക്കുറിച്ചു: അവന്നു ബുദ്ധിയില്ല എന്നും പറയുമോ?

You turn things upside down! Should the potter be considered like clay, so that the thing that is made should say about him who made it, “He did not make me,” or the thing formed say about him who formed it, “He does not understand”?

17 ഇനി അല്പകാലംകൊണ്ടു ലെബാനോൻ ഒരു ഉദ്യാനമായി തീരുകയും ഉദ്യാനം വനമായി എണ്ണപ്പെടുകയും ചെയ്കയില്ലയോ?

In just a little while, Lebanon will be turned into a field, and the field will become a forest.

18 അന്നാളിൽ ചെകിടന്മാർ പുസ്തകത്തിലെ വചനങ്ങളെ കേൾക്കുകയും കരുടന്മാരുടെ കണ്ണുകൾ ഇരുളും അന്ധകാരവും നീങ്ങി കാണുകയും

On that day the deaf will hear the words of a book, and the eyes of the blind will see out of the deep darkness.

19 സൌമ്യതയുള്ളവൎക്കു യഹോവയിൽ സന്തോഷം വൎദ്ധിക്കയും മനുഷ്യരിൽ സാധുക്കളായവർ യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ പരിശുദ്ധനിൽ ആനന്ദിക്കയും ചെയ്യും.

The oppressed will again rejoice in Yahweh, and the poor among men will rejoice in the Holy One of Israel.

20 നിഷ്കണ്ടകൻ നാസ്തിയായും പരിഹാസി ഇല്ലാതെയായും ഇരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ.

For the ruthless will cease, and the scoffer will vanish. All those who love to do evil will be eliminated,

21 മനുഷ്യരെ വ്യവഹാരത്തിൽ കുറ്റക്കാരാക്കുകയും പട്ടണവാതില്ക്കൽ ന്യായം വിസ്തരിക്കുന്നവന്നു കണിവെക്കയും നീതിമാനെ നിസ്സാരകാൎയ്യംകൊണ്ടു ബഹിഷ്കരിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നവരായി നീതികേടിന്നു ജാഗ്രതയുള്ള ഏവരും ഛേദിക്കപ്പെട്ടുമിരിക്കുന്നു.

who by a word make a man out to be an offender. They lay a snare for him who seeks justice at the gate and put the righteous down with empty lies.

22 ആകയാൽ അബ്രാഹാമിനെ വീണ്ടെടുത്ത യഹോവ യക്കോബ് ഗൃഹത്തെക്കുറിച്ചു ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: യാക്കോബ് ഇനി ലജ്ജിച്ചു പോകയില്ല; അവന്റെ മുഖം ഇനി വിളറിപ്പോകയുമില്ല.

Therefore this is what Yahweh says concerning the house of Jacob—Yahweh, who redeemed Abraham, “Jacob will no longer be ashamed, nor will his face be pale.

23 എന്നാൽ അവൻ, അവന്റെ മക്കൾ തന്നേ, തങ്ങളുടെ മദ്ധ്യേ എന്റെ കൈകളുടെ പ്രവൃത്തി കാണുമ്പോൾ അവർ എന്റെ നാമത്തെ വിശുദ്ധീകരിക്കും; അതേ അവർ യാക്കോബിന്റെ പരിശുദ്ധനെ വിശുദ്ധീകരിക്കയും യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവത്തെ ഭയപ്പെടുകയും ചെയ്യും.

But when he sees his children, the work of my hands, they will make my name holy. They will make holy the name of the Holy One of Jacob and they will stand in awe of the God of Israel.

24 മനോവിഭ്രമമുള്ളവർ ജ്ഞാനം ഗ്രഹിക്കയും പിറുപിറുക്കുന്നവർ ഉപദേശം പഠിക്കയും ചെയ്യും.

Those who err in spirit will gain understanding, and complainers will learn knowledge.”
