യെഹെസ്കേൽ 17
1 യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു എനിക്കുണ്ടായതെന്തെന്നാൽ:
Yahweh’s word came to me, saying,
2 മനുഷ്യപുത്രാ, നീ യിസ്രായേൽഗൃഹത്തോടു ഒരു കടങ്കഥ പറഞ്ഞു ഒരു ഉപമ പ്രസ്താവിക്കേണ്ടതു;
“Son of man, tell a riddle, and speak a parable to the house of Israel;
3 യഹോവയായ കൎത്താവു ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: വലിയ ചിറകും നീണ്ട തൂവലും ഉള്ളതും പലനിറമായ പപ്പു നിറഞ്ഞതുമായ ഒരു വലിയ കഴുകൻ ലെബനോനിൽ വന്നു ഒരു ദേവദാരുവിന്റെ ശിഖരം എടുത്തു.
and say, ‘The Lord Yahweh says: “A great eagle with great wings and long feathers, full of feathers which had various colors, came to Lebanon and took the top of the cedar.
4 അവൻ അതിന്റെ ഇളഞ്ചില്ലികളുടെ അറ്റം മുറിച്ചു കച്ചവടമുള്ളോരു ദേശത്തു കൊണ്ടുചെന്നു, കച്ചവടക്കാരുടെ പട്ടണത്തിൽ നട്ടു.
He cropped off the topmost of its young twigs, and carried it to a land of traffic. He planted it in a city of merchants.
5 അവൻ ദേശത്തിലെ തൈകളിൽ ഒന്നു എടുത്തു ഒരു വിളനിലത്തു നട്ടു; അവൻ അതിനെ വളരെ വെള്ളത്തിന്നരികെ കൊണ്ടുചെന്നു അലരിവൃക്ഷംപോലെ നട്ടു.
“‘“He also took some of the seed of the land and planted it in fruitful soil. He placed it beside many waters. He set it as a willow tree.
6 അതു വളൎന്നു, പൊക്കം കുറഞ്ഞു പടരുന്ന മുന്തിരിവള്ളിയായിത്തീൎന്നു; അതിന്റെ വള്ളി അവങ്കലേക്കു തിരിയേണ്ടതും അതിന്റെ വേർ അവന്നു കിഴ്പെടേണ്ടതും ആയിരുന്നു; ഇങ്ങനെ അതു മുന്തിരിവള്ളിയായി കൊമ്പുകളെ പുറപ്പെടുവിക്കയും ചില്ലികളെ നീട്ടുകയും ചെയ്തു.
It grew and became a spreading vine of low stature, whose branches turned toward him, and its roots were under him. So it became a vine, produced branches, and shot out sprigs.
7 എന്നാൽ വലിയ ചിറകും വളരെ പപ്പും ഉള്ള മറ്റൊരു വലിയ കഴുകൻ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; അവൻ അതു നനെക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ആ മുന്തിരിവള്ളി തന്റെ തടത്തിൽനിന്നു വേരുകളെ അവങ്കലേക്കു തിരിച്ചു കൊമ്പുകളെ അവങ്കലേക്കു നീട്ടി.
“‘“There was also another great eagle with great wings and many feathers. Behold, this vine bent its roots toward him, and shot out its branches toward him, from the ground where it was planted, that he might water it.
8 കൊമ്പുകളെ പുറപ്പെടുവിച്ചു ഫലം കായിപ്പാനും നല്ലമുന്തിരിവള്ളി ആയിത്തീരുവാനും തക്കവണ്ണം അതിനെ വളരെ വെള്ളത്തിന്നരികെ നല്ലനിലത്തു നട്ടിരുന്നു.
It was planted in a good soil by many waters, that it might produce branches and that it might bear fruit, that it might be a good vine.”’
9 ഇതു സാധിക്കുമോ? അതു വാടിപ്പോകത്തക്കവണ്ണം, അതിന്റെ തളിൎത്ത ഇലകളൊക്കെയും വാടിപ്പോകത്തക്കവണ്ണം തന്നേ, അവൻ അതിന്റെ വേരുകളെ മാന്തുകയും കായി പറിച്ചുകളകയും ചെയ്കില്ലയോ? അതിനെ വേരോടെ പിഴുതുകളയേണ്ടതിന്നു വലിയ ബലമോ വളരെ ജനമോ ആവശ്യമില്ല.
“Say, ‘The Lord Yahweh says: “Will it prosper? Won’t he pull up its roots and cut off its fruit, that it may wither, that all its fresh springing leaves may wither? It can’t be raised from its roots by a strong arm or many people.
10 അതു നട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു സത്യം; അതു തഴെക്കുമോ? കിഴക്കൻ കാറ്റു തട്ടുമ്പോൾ അതു തീരെ വാടിപ്പോകയില്ലയോ? വളൎന്ന തടത്തിൽ തന്നേ അതു ഉണങ്ങിപ്പോകും എന്നു യഹോവയായ കൎത്താവു അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു എന്നു നീ പറക.
Yes, behold, being planted, will it prosper? Won’t it utterly wither when the east wind touches it? It will wither in the ground where it grew.”’”
11 യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു എനിക്കുണ്ടായതെന്തെന്നാൽ:
Moreover Yahweh’s word came to me, saying,
12 ഇതിന്റെ അൎത്ഥം നിങ്ങൾ അറിയുന്നില്ലയോ എന്നു നീ ആ മത്സരഗൃഹത്തോടു ചോദിച്ചിട്ടു അവരോടു പറയേണ്ടതു: ബാബേൽരാജാവു യെരൂശലേമിലേക്കു വന്നു അതിന്റെ രാജാവിനെയും പ്രഭുക്കന്മാരെയും പിടിച്ചു തന്നോടുകൂടെ ബാബേലിലേക്കു കൊണ്ടുപോയി;
“Say now to the rebellious house, ‘Don’t you know what these things mean?’ Tell them, ‘Behold, the king of Babylon came to Jerusalem, and took its king, and its princes, and brought them to him to Babylon.
13 രാജസന്തതിയിൽ ഒരുത്തനെ അവൻ എടുത്തു അവനുമായി ഒരു ഉടമ്പടി ചെയ്തു അവനെക്കൊണ്ടു സത്യം ചെയ്യിച്ചു;
He took one of the royal offspring, and made a covenant with him. He also brought him under an oath, and took away the mighty of the land,
14 രാജ്യം തന്നെത്താൻ ഉയൎത്താതെ താണിരുന്നു അവന്റെ ഉടമ്പടി പ്രമാണിച്ചു നിലനിന്നുപോരേണ്ടതിന്നു അവൻ ദേശത്തിലെ ബലവാന്മാരെ കൊണ്ടുപോയി.
that the kingdom might be brought low, that it might not lift itself up, but that by keeping his covenant it might stand.
15 എങ്കിലും അവനോടു മത്സരിച്ചു ഇവൻ തനിക്കു കുതിരകളെയും വളരെ പടജ്ജനത്തെയും അയച്ചുതരേണമെന്നു പറവാൻ ദൂതന്മാരെ മിസ്രയീമിലേക്കു അയച്ചു: അവൻ കൃതാൎത്ഥനാകുമോ? ഇങ്ങനെ ചെയ്യുന്നവൻ തെറ്റി ഒഴിയുമോ? അല്ല, അവൻ ഉടമ്പടി ലംഘിച്ചിട്ടു വഴുതിപ്പോകുമോ?
But he rebelled against him in sending his ambassadors into Egypt, that they might give him horses and many people. Will he prosper? Will he who does such things escape? Will he break the covenant, and still escape?
16 എന്നാണ, അവനെ രാജാവാക്കിയ രാജാവിന്റെ സ്ഥലമായ ബാബേലിൽ, അവന്റെ അരികെ വെച്ചു തന്നേ, അവൻ മരിക്കും എന്നു യഹോവയായ കൎത്താവിന്റെ അരുളപ്പാടു; അവനോടു ചെയ്ത സത്യം അവൻ ധിക്കരിക്കയും അവനുമായുള്ള ഉടമ്പടി ലംഘിക്കയും ചെയ്തുവല്ലോ.
“‘As I live,’ says the Lord Yahweh, ‘surely in the place where the king dwells who made him king, whose oath he despised, and whose covenant he broke, even with him in the middle of Babylon he will die.
17 ബഹുജനത്തെ നശിപ്പിച്ചുകളവാൻ തക്കവണ്ണം അവർ വാടകോരി കൊത്തളം പണിയുമ്പോൾ ഫറവോൻ മഹാസൈന്യത്തോടും വലിയ കൂട്ടത്തോടും കൂടെ അവന്നുവേണ്ടി യുദ്ധത്തിൽ ഒന്നും പ്രവൎത്തിക്കയില്ല.
Pharaoh with his mighty army and great company won’t help him in the war, when they cast up mounds and build forts to cut off many persons.
18 അവൻ ഉടമ്പടി ലംഘിച്ചു സത്യം ധിക്കരിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; അവൻ കയ്യടിച്ചിട്ടും ഇതൊക്കെയും ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു; ആകയാൽ അവൻ ഒഴിഞ്ഞു പോകയില്ല.
For he has despised the oath by breaking the covenant; and behold, he had given his hand, and yet has done all these things. He won’t escape.
19 അതുകൊണ്ടു യഹോവയായ കൎത്താവു ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: എന്നാണ, അവൻ ധിക്കരിച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന എന്റെ സത്യവും ലംഘിച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന എന്റെ ഉടമ്പടിയും ഞാൻ അവന്റെ തലമേൽ വരുത്തും.
“Therefore the Lord Yahweh says: ‘As I live, I will surely bring on his own head my oath that he has despised and my covenant that he has broken.
20 ഞാൻ എന്റെ വല അവന്റെമേൽ വീശും; അവൻ എന്റെ കണിയിൽ അകപ്പെടും; ഞാൻ അവനെ ബാബേലിലേക്കു കൊണ്ടുചെന്നു, അവൻ എന്നോടു ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്ന ദ്രോഹത്തെക്കുറിച്ചു അവിടെവെച്ചു അവനോടു വ്യവഹരിക്കും.
I will spread my net on him, and he will be taken in my snare. I will bring him to Babylon, and will enter into judgment with him there for his trespass that he has trespassed against me.
21 അവന്റെ ശ്രേഷ്ഠയോദ്ധാക്കൾ ഒക്കെയും അവന്റെ എല്ലാപടക്കൂട്ടങ്ങളും വാളാൽ വീഴും; ശേഷിപ്പുള്ളവരോ നാലു ദിക്കിലേക്കും ചിതറിപ്പോകും; യഹോവയായ ഞാൻ അതു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു എന്നു നിങ്ങൾ അറിയും.
All his fugitives in all his bands will fall by the sword, and those who remain will be scattered toward every wind. Then you will know that I, Yahweh, have spoken it.’
22 യഹോവയായ കൎത്താവു ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: ഞാനും ഉയരമുള്ള ദേവദാരുവിന്റെ ഒരു ശിഖരം എടുത്തു നടും; അതിന്റെ ഇളഞ്ചില്ലികളുടെ അറ്റത്തുനിന്നു ഇളയതായിരിക്കുന്ന ഒന്നു ഞാൻ മുറിച്ചെടുത്തു ഉയരവും ഉന്നതവുമായുള്ള ഒരു പൎവ്വതത്തിൽ നടും.
“The Lord Yahweh says: ‘I will also take some of the lofty top of the cedar, and will plant it. I will crop off from the topmost of its young twigs a tender one, and I will plant it on a high and lofty mountain.
23 യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ഉയൎന്ന പൎവ്വതത്തിൽ ഞാൻ അതു നടും; അതു കൊമ്പുകളെ പുറപ്പെടുവിച്ചു ഫലം കായിച്ചു ഭംഗിയുള്ളോരു ദേവദാരുവായിത്തീരും; അതിന്റെ കീഴിൽ പലവിധം ചിറകുള്ള പക്ഷികളൊക്കെയും പാൎക്കും; അതിന്റെ കൊമ്പുകളുടെ നിഴലിൽ അവ വസിക്കും.
I will plant it in the mountain of the height of Israel; and it will produce boughs, and bear fruit, and be a good cedar. Birds of every kind will dwell in the shade of its branches.
24 യഹോവയായ ഞാൻ ഉയരമുള്ള വൃക്ഷത്തെ താഴ്ത്തി താണിരുന്ന വൃക്ഷത്തെ ഉയൎത്തുകയും പച്ചയായുള്ള വൃക്ഷത്തെ ഉണക്കി ഉണങ്ങിയ വൃക്ഷത്തെ തഴെപ്പിക്കയും ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു കാട്ടിലെ സകലവൃക്ഷങ്ങളും അറിയും; യഹോവയായ ഞാൻ അതു പ്രസ്താവിച്ചും അനുഷ്ഠിച്ചും ഇരിക്കുന്നു.
All the trees of the field will know that I, Yahweh, have brought down the high tree, have exalted the low tree, have dried up the green tree, and have made the dry tree flourish. “‘I, Yahweh, have spoken and have done it.’”
