പുറപ്പാട് 21
1 അവരുടെ മുമ്പാകെ നീ വെക്കേണ്ടുന്ന ന്യായങ്ങളാവിതു:
And these [are] the judgments which you set before them:
2 ഒരു എബ്രായദാസനെ വിലെക്കു വാങ്ങിയാൽ ആറു സംവത്സരം സേവിച്ചിട്ടു ഏഴാം സംവത്സരത്തിൽ അവൻ ഒന്നും കൊടുക്കാതെ സ്വതന്ത്രനായി പൊയ്ക്കൊള്ളട്ടെ.
When you buy a Hebrew servant, he serves [for] six years, and in the seventh he goes out as a freeman for nothing;
3 ഏകനായി വന്നു എങ്കിൽ ഏകനായി പോകട്ടെ; അവന്നു ഭാൎയ്യയുണ്ടായിരുന്നു എങ്കിൽ ഭാൎയ്യയും അവനോടുകൂടെ പോകട്ടെ.
if he comes in by himself, he goes out by himself; if he [is] owner of a wife, then his wife has gone out with him;
4 അവന്റെ യജമാനൻ അവന്നു ഭാൎയ്യയെ കൊടുക്കയും അവൾ അവന്നു പുത്രന്മാരെയോ പുത്രിമാരെയോ പ്രസവിക്കയും ചെയ്തിട്ടുണ്ടെങ്കിൽ ഭാൎയ്യയും മക്കളും യജമാനന്നു ഇരിക്കേണം; അവൻ ഏകനായി പോകേണം.
if his lord gives a wife to him, and she has borne sons or daughters to him—the wife and her children are her lord’s, and he goes out by himself.
5 എന്നാൽ ദാസൻ: ഞാൻ എന്റെ യജമാനനെയും എന്റെ ഭാൎയ്യയെയും മക്കളെയും സ്നേഹിക്കുന്നു; ഞാൻ സ്വതന്ത്രനായി പോകയില്ല എന്നു തീൎത്തു പറഞ്ഞാൽ
And if the servant really says: I have loved my lord, my wife, and my sons—I do not go out free,
6 യജമാനൻ അവനെ ദൈവസന്നിധിയിൽ കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടു ചെന്നു കതകിന്റെയോ കട്ടളക്കാലിന്റെയോ അടുക്കൽ നിറുത്തീട്ടു സൂചികൊണ്ടു അവന്റെ കാതു കുത്തി തുളക്കേണം; പിന്നെ അവൻ എന്നേക്കും അവന്നു ദാസനായിരിക്കേണം.
then his lord has brought him near to God, and has brought him near to the door, or to the doorpost, and his lord has bored his ear with an awl, and he has served him for all time.
7 ഒരുത്തൻ തന്റെ പുത്രിയെ ദാസിയായി വിറ്റാൽ അവൾ ദാസന്മാർ പോകുന്നതുപോലെ പോകരുതു.
And when a man sells his daughter for a handmaid, she does not go out according to the going out of the menservants;
8 അവളെ തനിക്കു സംബന്ധത്തിന്നു നിയമിച്ച യജമാനന്നു അവളെ ബോധിക്കാതിരുന്നാൽ അവളെ വീണ്ടെടുപ്പാൻ അവൻ അനുവദിക്കേണം; അവളെ ചതിച്ചതുകൊണ്ടു അന്യജാതിക്കു വിറ്റുകളവാൻ അവന്നു അധികാരമില്ല.
if [it is] evil in the eyes of her lord, so that he has not betrothed her, then he has let her be ransomed; he has no power to sell her to a strange people, in his dealing treacherously with her.
9 അവൻ അവളെ തന്റെ പുത്രന്നു നിയമിച്ചു എങ്കിൽ പുത്രിമാരുടെ ന്യായത്തിന്നു തക്കവണ്ണം അവളോടു പെരുമാറേണം.
And if he betroths her to his son, he does to her according to the right of daughters.
10 അവൻ മറ്റൊരുത്തിയെ പരിഗ്രഹിച്ചാൽ ഇവളുടെ ഉപജീവനവും ഉടുപ്പും വിവാഹമുറയും കുറെക്കരുതു.
If he takes another [woman] for him, he does not withdraw her food, her covering, and her habitation;
11 ഈ മൂന്നു കാൎയ്യവും അവൻ അവൾക്കു ചെയ്യാതിരുന്നാൽ അവളെ പണം വാങ്ങാതെ വെറുതെ വിട്ടയക്കേണം.
and if he does not do these three for her, then she has gone out for nothing, without money.
12 ഒരു മനുഷ്യനെ അടിച്ചുകൊല്ലുന്നവൻ മരണശിക്ഷ അനുഭവിക്കേണം.
He who strikes a man so that he has died is certainly put to death;
13 അവൻ കരുതിക്കൂട്ടാതെ അങ്ങനെ അവന്റെ കയ്യാൽ സംഭവിപ്പാൻ ദൈവം സംഗതിവരുത്തിയതായാൽ അവൻ ഓടിപ്പോകേണ്ടുന്ന സ്ഥലം ഞാൻ നിയമിക്കും.
as for him who has not laid wait, but God has brought [him] to his hand, I have even set a place for you to where he flees.
14 എന്നാൽ ഒരുത്തൽ കരുതിക്കൂട്ടി കൂട്ടുകാരനെ ചതിച്ചു കൊന്നതെങ്കിൽ അവൻ മരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു നീ അവനെ എന്റെ യാഗപീഠത്തിങ്കൽ നിന്നും പിടിച്ചു കൊണ്ടുപോകേണം.
And when a man presumes against his neighbor to slay him with subtlety, you take him from My altar to die.
15 തന്റെ അപ്പനെയോ അമ്മയെയോ അടിക്കുന്നവൻ മരണശിക്ഷ അനുഭവിക്കേണം.
And he who strikes his father or his mother is certainly put to death.
16 ഒരുത്തൻ ഒരാളെ മോഷ്ടിച്ചിട്ടു അവനെ വില്ക്കയാകട്ടെ അവന്റെ കൈവശം അവനെ കണ്ടു പിടിക്കയാകട്ടെ ചെയ്താൽ അവൻ മരണശിക്ഷ അനുഭവിക്കേണം.
And he who steals a man, and has sold him, and he has been found in his hand, is certainly put to death.
17 തന്റെ അപ്പനെയോ അമ്മയെയോ ശപിക്കുന്നവൻ മരണശിക്ഷ അനുഭവിക്കേണം.
And he who is reviling his father or his mother is certainly put to death.
18 മനുഷ്യർ തമ്മിൽ ശണ്ഠകൂടീട്ടു ഒരുത്തൻ മറ്റവനെ കല്ലുകൊണ്ടോ മുഷ്ടികൊണ്ടോ കുത്തിയതിനാൽ അവൻ മരിച്ചുപോകാതെ കിടപ്പിലാകയും
And when men contend, and a man has struck his neighbor with a stone, or with the fist, and he does not die, but has fallen on the bed;
19 പിന്നെയും എഴുന്നേറ്റു വടി ഊന്നി വെളിയിൽ നടക്കയും ചെയ്താൽ കുത്തിയവനെ ശിക്ഷിക്കരുതു; എങ്കിലും അവൻ അവന്റെ മിനക്കേടിന്നുവേണ്ടി കൊടുത്തു അവനെ നല്ലവണ്ണം ചികിത്സിപ്പിക്കേണം.
if he rises, and has gone up and down outside on his staff, then the striker has been acquitted; he only gives [for] his cessation, and he is thoroughly healed.
20 ഒരുത്തൻ തന്റെ ദാസനെയോ ദാസിയെയോ തൽക്ഷണം മരിച്ചുപോകത്തക്കവണ്ണം വടികൊണ്ടു അടിച്ചാൽ അവനെ നിശ്ചയമായി ശിക്ഷിക്കേണം.
And when a man strikes his manservant or his handmaid with a rod, and he has died under his hand—he is certainly avenged;
21 എങ്കിലും അവൻ ഒന്നു രണ്ടു ദിവസം ജീവിച്ചിരുന്നാൽ അവനെ ശിക്ഷിക്കരുതു; അവൻ അവന്റെ മുതലല്ലോ.
only if he remains a day, or two days, he is not avenged, for he [is] his money.
22 മനുഷ്യർ തമ്മിൽ ശണ്ഠകൂടീട്ടു ഗൎഭിണിയായ ഒരു സ്ത്രീയെ അടിച്ചതിനാൽ ഗൎഭം അലസിയതല്ലാതെ അവൾക്കു മറ്റൊരു ദോഷവും വന്നില്ലെങ്കിൽ അടിച്ചവൻ ആ സ്ത്രീയുടെ ഭൎത്താവു ചുമത്തുന്ന പിഴ കൊടുക്കേണം; ന്യായാധിപന്മാർ വിധിക്കുമ്പോലെ അവൻ കൊടുക്കേണം.
And when men strive, and have struck a pregnant woman, and her children have come out, and there is no harm [to them], he is certainly fined as the husband of the woman lays on him, and he has given through the judges;
23 മറ്റു ദോഷം വന്നിട്ടുണ്ടെങ്കിൽ ജീവന്നു പകരം ജീവൻ കൊടുക്കേണം.
and if there is harm [to them], then you have given life for life,
24 കണ്ണിന്നു പകരം കണ്ണു; പല്ലിന്നു പകരം പല്ലു; കൈക്കു പകരം കൈ; കാലിന്നു പകരം കാൽ;
eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot,
25 പൊള്ളലിന്നു പകരം പൊള്ളൽ; മുറിവിന്നു പകരം മുറിവു; തിണൎപ്പിന്നു പകരം തിണൎപ്പു.
burning for burning, wound for wound, stripe for stripe.
26 ഒരുത്തൻ അടിച്ചു തന്റെ ദാസന്റെയോ ദാസിയുടെയോ കണ്ണു കളഞ്ഞാൽ അവൻ കണ്ണിന്നു പകരം അവനെ സ്വതന്ത്രനായി വിട്ടയക്കേണം.
And when a man strikes the eye of his manservant, or the eye of his handmaid, and has destroyed it, he sends him away as a freeman for his eye;
27 അവൻ തന്റെ ദാസന്റെയോ ദാസിയുടെയോ പല്ലു അടിച്ചു തകൎത്താൽ അവൻ പല്ലിന്നു പകരം അവനെ സ്വതന്ത്രനായി വിട്ടയക്കേണം.
and if he knocks out a tooth of his manservant or a tooth of his handmaid, he sends him away as a freeman for his tooth.
28 ഒരു കാള ഒരു പുരുഷനെയോ സ്ത്രീയെയോ കുത്തിക്കൊന്നാൽ ആ കാളയെ കല്ലെറിഞ്ഞു കൊല്ലേണം; അതിന്റെ മാംസം തിന്നരുതു; കാളയുടെ ഉടമസ്ഥനോ കുറ്റമില്ലാത്തവൻ.
And when an ox gores man or woman, and they have died, the ox is certainly stoned, and his flesh is not eaten, and the owner of the ox [is] acquitted;
29 എന്നാൽ ആ കാള മുമ്പെ തന്നേ കുത്തുന്നതായും ഉടമസ്ഥൻ അതു അറിഞ്ഞുമിരിക്കെ അവൻ അതിനെ സൂക്ഷിക്കായ്കകൊണ്ടു അതു ഒരു പുരുഷനെയോ സ്ത്രീയെയോ കൊന്നുകളഞ്ഞാൽ ആ കാളയെ കല്ലെറിഞ്ഞു കൊല്ലേണം; അതിന്റെ ഉടമസ്ഥനും മരണശിക്ഷ അനുഭവിക്കേണം.
and if the ox is [one] accustomed to gore before, and it has been testified to its owner, and he does not watch it, and it has put to death a man or woman, the ox is stoned, and its owner is also put to death.
30 ഉദ്ധാരണ ദ്രവ്യം അവന്റെ മേൽ ചുമത്തിയാൽ തന്റെ ജീവന്റെ വീണ്ടെടുപ്പിന്നായി തന്റെ മേൽ ചുമത്തിയതു ഒക്കെയും അവൻ കൊടുക്കേണം.
If atonement is laid on him, then he has given the ransom of his life, according to all that is laid on him;
31 അതു ഒരു ബാലനെ കുത്തിയാലും ഒരു ബാലയെ കുത്തിയാലും ഈ ന്യായപ്രകാരം അവനോടു ചെയ്യേണം.
whether it gores a son or gores a daughter, according to this judgment it is done to him.
32 കാള ഒരു ദാസനെയോ ദാസിയെയോ കുത്തിയാൽ അവൻ അവരുടെ ഉടമസ്ഥന്നു മുപ്പതു ശേക്കെൽ വെള്ളി കൊടുക്കേണം; കാളയെ കൊന്നുകളകയും വേണം.
If the ox gores a manservant or a handmaid, he gives thirty silver shekels to their lord, and the ox is stoned.
33 ഒരുത്തൻ ഒരു കുഴി തുറന്നുവെക്കുകയോ കുഴി കുഴിച്ചു അതിനെ മൂടാതിരിക്കയോ ചെയ്തിട്ടു അതിൽ ഒരു കാളയോ കഴുതയോ വീണാൽ,
And when a man opens a pit, or when a man digs a pit, and does not cover it, and an ox or donkey has fallen [in] there—
34 കുഴിയുടെ ഉടമസ്ഥൻ വിലകൊടുത്തു അതിന്റെ യജമാനന്നു തൃപ്തിവരുത്തേണം; എന്നാൽ ചത്തുപോയതു അവന്നുള്ളതായിരിക്കേണം.
the owner of the pit repays, he gives back money to its owner, and the dead is his.
35 ഒരുത്തന്റെ കാള മറ്റൊരുത്തന്റെ കാളയെ കുത്തീട്ടു അതു ചത്തുപോയാൽ അവർ ജീവനോടിരിക്കുന്ന കാളയെ വിറ്റു അതിന്റെ വില പകുത്തെടുക്കേണം; ചത്തുപോയതിനെയും പകുത്തെടുക്കേണം.
And when a man’s ox strikes the ox of his neighbor and it has died, then they have sold the living ox, and halved its money, and they also halve the dead one;
36 അല്ലെങ്കിൽ ആ കാള മുമ്പെ തന്നേ കുത്തുന്നതു എന്നു അറിഞ്ഞിട്ടും ഉടമസ്ഥൻ അതിനെ സൂക്ഷിക്കാതിരുന്നു എങ്കിൽ അവൻ കാളെക്കു പകരം കാളയെ കൊടുക്കേണം; എന്നാൽ ചത്തുപോയതു അവന്നുള്ളതായിരിക്കേണം.
or, [if] it has been known that the ox is [one] accustomed to gore before, and its owner does not watch it, he certainly repays ox for ox, and the dead is his.
