പുറപ്പാട് 16

1 അവർ ഏലീമിൽനിന്നു യാത്രപുറപ്പെട്ടു; യിസ്രായേൽമക്കൾ മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തുനിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ട രണ്ടാം മാസം പതിനഞ്ചാം തിയ്യതി അവരുടെ സംഘം ഒക്കെയും ഏലീമിന്നും സീനായിക്കും മദ്ധ്യേ ഉള്ള സീൻമരുഭൂമിയിൽ വന്നു.

And they journey from Elim, and all the congregation of the sons of Israel come to the wilderness of Sin, which [is] between Elim and Sinai, on the fifteenth day of the second month of their going out from the land of Egypt.

2 ആ മരുഭൂമിയിൽവെച്ചു യിസ്രായേൽമക്കളുടെ സംഘം ഒക്കെയും മോശെക്കും അഹരോന്നും വിരോധമായി പിറുപിറുത്തു.

And all the congregation of the sons of Israel murmur against Moses and against Aaron in the wilderness;

3 യിസ്രായേൽമക്കൾ അവരോടു: ഞങ്ങൾ ഇറച്ചിക്കലങ്ങളുടെ അടുക്കലിരിക്കയും തൃപ്തിയാകുംവണ്ണം ഭക്ഷണം കഴിക്കയും ചെയ്ത മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തു വെച്ചു യഹോവയുടെ കയ്യാൽ മരിച്ചിരുന്നു എങ്കിൽ കൊള്ളായിരുന്നു. നിങ്ങൾ ഈ സംഘത്തെ മുഴുവനും പട്ടിണിയിട്ടു കൊല്ലുവാൻ ഈ മരുഭൂമിയിലേക്കു കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടു വന്നിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

and the sons of Israel say to them, “Oh that we had died by the hand of YHWH in the land of Egypt, in our sitting by the flesh-pot, in our eating bread to satiety—for you have brought us out to this wilderness to put all this assembly to death with hunger.”

4 അപ്പോൾ യഹോവ മോശെയോടു: ഞാൻ നിങ്ങൾക്കു ആകാശത്തുനിന്നു അപ്പം വൎഷിപ്പിക്കും; ജനം എന്റെ ന്യായപ്രമാണം അനുസരിക്കുമോ ഇല്ലയോ എന്നു ഞാൻ അവരെ പരീക്ഷിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അവർ പുറപ്പെട്ടു ഓരോ ദിവസത്തേക്കു വേണ്ടതു അന്നന്നു പെറുക്കിക്കൊള്ളേണം.

And YHWH says to Moses, “Behold, I am raining bread from the heavens for you—and the people have gone out and gathered the matter of a day in its day—so that I try them whether they walk in My law or not;

5 എന്നാൽ ആറാം ദിവസം അവർ കൊണ്ടുവരുന്നതു ഒരുക്കുമ്പോൾ ദിവസംപ്രതി പെറുക്കുന്നതിന്റെ ഇരട്ടി കാണും എന്നു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.

and it has been on the sixth day, that they have prepared that which they bring in, and it has been double above that which they gather day [by] day.”

6 മോശെയും അഹരോനും യിസ്രായേൽമക്കളോടു ഒക്കെയും: നിങ്ങളെ മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തുനിന്നു കൊണ്ടുവന്നതു യഹോവ തന്നേ എന്നു ഇന്നു വൈകുന്നേരം നിങ്ങൾ അറിയും.

And Moses says—Aaron also—to all the sons of Israel, “Evening—and you have known that YHWH has brought you out from the land of Egypt;

7 പ്രഭാതകാലത്തു നിങ്ങൾ യഹോവയുടെ തേജസ്സു കാണും; യഹോവയുടെ നേരെയുള്ള നിങ്ങളുടെ പിറുപിറുപ്പു അവൻ കേട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു; നിങ്ങൾ ഞങ്ങളുടെ നേരെ പിറുപിറുക്കുവാൻ ഞങ്ങൾ എന്തുള്ളു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

and morning—and you have seen the glory of YHWH, in His hearing your murmurings against YHWH, and what [are] we, that you murmur against us?”

8 മോശെ പിന്നെയും: യഹോവ നിങ്ങൾക്കു തിന്നുവാൻ വൈകുന്നേരത്തു മാംസവും പ്രഭാതകാലത്തു തൃപ്തിയാകുംവണ്ണം അപ്പവും തരുമ്പോൾ നിങ്ങൾ അറിയും; യഹോവയുടെ നേരെ നിങ്ങൾ പിറുപിറുക്കുന്നതു അവൻ കേൾക്കുന്നു; ഞങ്ങൾ എന്തുള്ളു? നിങ്ങളുടെ പിറുപിറുപ്പു ഞങ്ങളുടെ നേരെയല്ല, യഹോവയുടെ നേരെയത്രേ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And Moses says, “In YHWH’s giving to you flesh to eat in the evening, and bread in the morning to satiety—in YHWH’s hearing your murmurings, which you are murmuring against Him, and what [are] we? Your murmurings [are] not against us, but against YHWH.”

9 അഹരോനോടു: മോശെ: യഹോവയുടെ മുമ്പാകെ അടുത്തുവരുവിൻ; അവൻ നിങ്ങളുടെ പിറുപിറുപ്പു കേട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു യിസ്രായേൽമക്കളുടെ സൎവ്വസംഘത്തോടും പറക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And Moses says to Aaron, “Say to all the congregation of the sons of Israel, Come near before YHWH, for He has heard your murmurings”;

10 അഹരോൻ യിസ്രായേൽമക്കളുടെ സൎവ്വസംഘത്തോടും സംസാരിക്കുമ്പോൾ അവർ മരുഭൂമിക്കു നേരെ തിരിഞ്ഞുനോക്കി, യഹോവയുടെ തേജസ്സു മേഘത്തിൽ വെളിപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നതു കണ്ടു.

and it comes to pass, when Aaron is speaking to all the congregation of the sons of Israel, that they turn toward the wilderness, and behold, the glory of YHWH is seen in the cloud.

11 യഹോവ മോശെയോടു: യിസ്രായേൽമക്കളുടെ പിറുപിറുപ്പു ഞാൻ കേട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു.

And YHWH speaks to Moses, saying,

12 നീ അവരോടു സംസാരിച്ചു: നിങ്ങൾ വൈകുന്നേരത്തു മാംസം തിന്നും; പ്രഭാതകാലത്തു അപ്പംകൊണ്ടു തൃപ്തരാകും; ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ ആകുന്നു എന്നു നിങ്ങൾ അറിയും എന്നു പറക എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു.

“I have heard the murmurings of the sons of Israel; speak to them, saying, Between the evenings you eat flesh, and in the morning you are satisfied [with] bread, and you have known that I [am] your God YHWH.”

13 വൈകുന്നേരം കാടകൾ വന്നു പാളയത്തെ മൂടി; പ്രഭാതകാലത്തു പാളയത്തിന്റെ ചുറ്റും മഞ്ഞു വീണുകിടന്നു.

And it comes to pass in the evening, that the quail comes up, and covers the camp, and in the morning there has been the lying of dew around the camp,

14 വീണുകിടന്ന മഞ്ഞു മാറിയ ശേഷം മരുഭൂമിയിൽ എല്ലാടവും ചെതുമ്പലിന്റെ മാതിരിയിൽ ഒരു നേരിയ വസ്തു ഉറെച്ച മഞ്ഞുപോലെ നിലത്തു കിടക്കുന്നതു കണ്ടു.

and the lying of the dew goes up, and behold, on the face of the wilderness [is] a thin, bare thing, thin as hoarfrost on the earth.

15 യിസ്രായേൽമക്കൾ അതു കണ്ടാറെ എന്തെന്നു അറിയായ്കയാൽ ഇതെന്തു എന്നു തമ്മിൽ തമ്മിൽ ചോദിച്ചു. മോശെ അവരോടു: ഇതു യഹോവ നിങ്ങൾക്കു ഭക്ഷിപ്പാൻ തന്നിരിക്കുന്ന ആഹാരം ആകുന്നു.

And the sons of Israel see, and say to one another, “What [is] it?” For they have not known what it [is]; and Moses says to them, “It [is] the bread which YHWH has given to you for food.

16 ഓരോരുത്തന്നു ഭക്ഷിക്കാകുന്നെടത്തോളം പെറുക്കിക്കൊൾവിൻ; താന്താന്റെ കൂടാരത്തിലുള്ളവരുടെ എണ്ണത്തിന്നൊത്തവണ്ണം ആളൊന്നിന്നു ഇടങ്ങഴിവീതം എടുത്തുകൊള്ളേണം എന്നു യഹോവ കല്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

This [is] the thing which YHWH has commanded: Gather of it, each according to his eating, an omer for the counted head; and the number of your persons, take, each, for those in his tent.”

17 യിസ്രായേൽമക്കൾ അങ്ങനെ ചെയ്തു. ചിലർ ഏറെയും ചിലർ കുറെയും പെറുക്കി.

And the sons of Israel do so, and they gather, he who is [gathering] much, and he who is [gathering] little;

18 ഇടങ്ങഴികൊണ്ടു അളന്നപ്പോൾ ഏറെ പെറുക്കിയവന്നു ഏറെയും കുറെ പെറുക്കിയവന്നു കുറവും കണ്ടില്ല; ഓരോരുത്തൻ താന്താന്നു ഭക്ഷിക്കാകുന്നെടത്തോളം പെറുക്കിയിരുന്നു.

and they measure with an omer, and he who is [gathering] much has nothing over, and he who is [gathering] little has no lack, each according to his eating they have gathered.

19 പിറ്റെന്നാളേക്കു ആരും ഒട്ടും ശേഷിപ്പിക്കരുതെന്നു മോശെ പറഞ്ഞു.

And Moses says to them, “Let no man leave of it until morning”;

20 എങ്കിലും ചിലർ മോശെയെ അനുസരിക്കാതെ പിറ്റെന്നാളേക്കു കുറെ ശേഷിപ്പിച്ചു; അതു കൃമിച്ചു നാറി; മോശെ അവരോടു കോപിച്ചു.

and they have not listened to Moses, and some of them leave of it until morning, and it brings up worms and stinks; and Moses is angry with them.

21 അവർ രാവിലെതോറും അവനവന്നു ഭക്ഷിക്കാകുന്നേടത്തോളം പെറുക്കും; വെയിൽ മൂക്കുമ്പോൾ അതു ഉരുകിപ്പോകും.

And they gather it morning by morning, each according to his eating; when the sun has been warm, then it has melted.

22 എന്നാൽ ആറാം ദിവസം അവർ ആളൊന്നിന്നു ഈരണ്ടിടങ്ങഴിവീതം ഇരട്ടി ആഹാരം ശേഖരിച്ചു. അപ്പോൾ സംഘപ്രമാണികൾ എല്ലാവരും വന്നു മോശെയോടു അറിയിച്ചു.

And it comes to pass on the sixth day, they have gathered a second bread, two omers for one, and all the princes of the congregation come in, and declare [it] to Moses.

23 അവൻ അവരോടു: അതു യഹോവ കല്പിച്ചതു തന്നേ; നാളെ സ്വസ്ഥത ആകുന്നു; യഹോവെക്കു വിശുദ്ധമായുള്ള ശബ്ബത്തു. ചുടുവാനുള്ളതു ചുടുവിൻ; പാകം ചെയ്‌വാനുള്ളതു പാകം ചെയ്‌വിൻ; ശേഷിക്കുന്നതൊക്കെയും നാളത്തേക്കു സൂക്ഷിച്ചുവെപ്പിൻ.

And he says to them, “It [is] that which YHWH has spoken: A rest—a holy Sabbath to YHWH—[is] tomorrow; that which you bake, bake; and that which you boil, boil; and all that is remaining, let [it] rest for yourselves for preservation until the morning.”

24 മോശെ കല്പിച്ചതുപോലെ അവർ അതു പിറ്റെന്നാളേക്കു സൂക്ഷിച്ചുവെച്ചു; അതു നാറിപ്പോയില്ല, കൃമിച്ചതുമില്ല.

And they let it rest until the morning, as Moses has commanded, and it has not stunk, and a worm has not been in it.

25 അപ്പോൾ മോശെ പറഞ്ഞതു: ഇതു ഇന്നു ഭക്ഷിപ്പിൻ; ഇന്നു യഹോവയുടെ ശബ്ബത്ത് ആകുന്നു; ഇന്നു അതു വെളിയിൽ കാണുകയില്ല.

And Moses says, “Eat it today, for today [is] a Sabbath to YHWH; today you do not find it in the field:

26 ആറു ദിവസം നിങ്ങൾ അതു പെറുക്കേണം; ശബ്ബത്തായ ഏഴാം ദിവസത്തിലോ അതു ഉണ്ടാകയില്ല.

six days you gather it, and in the seventh day—the Sabbath—there is none in it.”

27 എന്നാൽ ഏഴാംദിവസം ജനത്തിൽ ചിലർ പെറുക്കുവാൻ പോയാറെ കണ്ടില്ല.

And it comes to pass on the seventh day, some of the people have gone out to gather, and have not found.

28 അപ്പോൾ യഹോവ മോശെയോടു: എന്റെ കല്പനകളും ന്യായപ്രമാണങ്ങളും പ്രമാണിപ്പാൻ നിങ്ങൾക്കു എത്രത്തോളം മനസ്സില്ലാതിരിക്കും?

And YHWH says to Moses, “How long have you refused to keep My commands and My laws?

29 നോക്കുവിൻ, യഹോവ നിങ്ങൾക്കു ശബ്ബത്ത് തന്നിരിക്കുന്നു; അതുകൊണ്ടു ആറാം ദിവസം അവൻ നിങ്ങൾക്കു രണ്ടു ദിവസത്തേക്കുള്ള ആഹാരം തരുന്നു; നിങ്ങൾ താന്താങ്ങളുടെ സ്ഥലത്തു ഇരിപ്പിൻ; ഏഴാം ദിവസം ആരും തന്റെ സ്ഥലത്തുനിന്നു പുറപ്പെടരുതു എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു.

See, because YHWH has given the Sabbath to you, therefore He is giving to you on the sixth day bread of two days; each abide [in] his place, no one goes out from his place on the seventh day.”

30 അങ്ങനെ ജനം ഏഴാം ദിവസം സ്വസ്ഥമായിരുന്നു.

And the people rest on the seventh day,

31 യിസ്രായേല്യർ ആ സാധനത്തിന്നു മന്നാ എന്നു പേരിട്ടു; അതു കൊത്തമ്പാലരിപോലെയും വെള്ളനിറമുള്ളതും തേൻകൂട്ടിയ ദോശയോടൊത്ത രുചിയുള്ളതും ആയിരുന്നു.

and the house of Israel calls its name Manna, and it [is] as white coriander seed; and its taste [is] as a cake with honey.

32 പിന്നെ മോശെ: യഹോവ കല്പിക്കുന്ന കാൎയ്യം ആവിതു: ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളെ മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തുനിന്നു കൊണ്ടുവരുമ്പോൾ നിങ്ങൾക്കു മരുഭൂമിയിൽ ഭക്ഷിപ്പാൻ തന്ന ആഹാരം നിങ്ങളുടെ തലമുറകൾ കാണേണ്ടതിന്നു സൂക്ഷിച്ചുവെപ്പാൻ അതിൽനിന്നു ഒരിടങ്ങഴി നിറച്ചെടുക്കേണം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And Moses says, “This [is] the thing which YHWH has commanded: Fill the omer with it, for a charge for your generations, so that they see the bread which I have caused you to eat in the wilderness, in My bringing you out from the land of Egypt.”

33 അഹരോനോടു മോശെ: ഒരു പാത്രം എടുത്തു അതിൽ ഒരു ഇടങ്ങഴി മന്നാ ഇട്ടു നിങ്ങളുടെ തലമുറകൾക്കുവേണ്ടി സൂക്ഷിപ്പാൻ യഹോവയുടെ മുമ്പാകെ വെച്ചുകൊൾക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

And Moses says to Aaron, “Take one pot, and put the fullness of the omer of manna [in] there, and let it rest before YHWH, for a charge for your generations”;

34 യഹോവ മോശെയോടു കല്പിച്ചതുപോലെ അഹരോൻ അതു സാക്ഷ്യസന്നിധിയിൽ സൂക്ഷിച്ചുവെച്ചു.

as YHWH has given command to Moses, so Aaron lets it rest before the Testimony, for a charge.

35 കുടിപാൎപ്പുള്ള ദേശത്തു എത്തുവോളം യിസ്രായേൽമക്കൾ നാല്പതു സംവത്സരം മന്നാ ഭക്ഷിച്ചു. കനാൻദേശത്തിന്റെ അതിരിൽ എത്തുവോളം അവർ മന്നാ ഭക്ഷിച്ചു.

And the sons of Israel have eaten the manna [for] forty years, until their coming to the land to be inhabited; they have eaten the manna until their coming to the extremity of the land of Canaan.

36 ഒരു ഇടങ്ങഴി (ഓമെർ) പറ (ഏഫ)യുടെ പത്തിൽ ഒന്നു ആകുന്നു.

And the omer is a tenth of the ephah.
