Now Boaz went up to the gate and sat down there. Soon, the near kinsman of whom Boaz had spoken came by. Boaz said to him, “My friend, come over and sit down here.” The man came over and sat down.
2 ബോവസ് പട്ടണത്തലവന്മാരിൽ പത്തുപേരെ ക്ഷണിച്ചുകൊണ്ടുവന്ന്, “ഇവിടെ ഇരുന്നാലും” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു, അവർ അങ്ങനെ ചെയ്തു.
Then Boaz took ten men of the elders of the city and said, “Sit down here.” So they sat down.
3 അതിനുശേഷം ബോവസ് വീണ്ടെടുപ്പുകാരനോട്: “മോവാബിൽനിന്നും തിരികെവന്ന നവൊമി, നമ്മുടെ സഹോദരനായ എലീമെലെക്കിന്റെ വയൽ വിൽക്കുന്നു.
Boaz said to the near kinsman, “Naomi, who has returned from the country of Moab, is selling the parcel of land that was our brother Elimelek's.

I thought to inform you and say to you, 'Buy it in the presence of those who are sitting here, and in the presence of the elders of my people.' If you wish to redeem it, redeem it. But if you do not wish to redeem it, then tell me, so that I may know, for there is no one to redeem it besides you, and I am after you.” Then the other man said, “I will redeem it.”
5 അപ്പോൾ ബോവസ്: “നവൊമിയിൽനിന്ന് ആ സ്ഥലം വാങ്ങുന്ന ദിവസം, വസ്തുവിന്മേൽ മരിച്ചയാളിന്റെ പേര് നിലനിർത്തേണ്ടതിന്, അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ വിധവയായ രൂത്ത് എന്ന മോവാബ്യസ്ത്രീയെയും വീണ്ടുകൊള്ളണം” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
Then Boaz said, “On the day that you buy the field from the hand of Naomi, you must also take Ruth the Moabite woman, the widow of a dead man, in order to raise up the name of the dead on his inheritance.”

Then the near kinsman said, “I cannot redeem it for myself without damaging my own inheritance. You take my right of redemption for yourself, for I cannot redeem it.”

Now this was the custom in former times in Israel concerning the redemption and exchange of goods. To confirm all things, a man took off his shoe and gave it to his neighbor; this was the manner of making legal agreements in Israel.
8 അങ്ങനെ വീണ്ടെടുപ്പുകാരൻ ബോവസിനോട്, “താങ്കൾതന്നെ അതു വാങ്ങിക്കൊള്ളുക” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. അതിനുശേഷം തന്റെ ചെരിപ്പൂരി ബോവസിന് കൊടുത്തു.
So the near kinsman said to Boaz, “Buy it for yourself,” and he took off his sandal.
9 അപ്പോൾ ബോവസ് ഗോത്രത്തലവന്മാരോടും ചുറ്റുംനിന്ന ജനത്തോടും ഇപ്രകാരം പറഞ്ഞു: “എലീമെലെക്കിന്റെയും, കില്യോന്റെയും മഹ്ലോന്റെയും സകലസ്വത്തുക്കളും ഞാൻ നവൊമിയുടെ പക്കൽനിന്നും ഏറ്റുവാങ്ങി എന്നതിനു നിങ്ങൾ ഇന്നു സാക്ഷികളാകുന്നു.
Then Boaz said to the elders and to all the people, “You are witnesses today that I have bought all that was Elimelek's and all that was Kilion's and Mahlon's from the hand of Naomi.

Also Ruth the Moabite woman, the wife of Mahlon, I have acquired to be my wife, in order that I might raise up the name of the dead man on his inheritance, so that his name will not be cut off from among his brothers and from the gate of his place. Today you are witnesses!”
11 അപ്പോൾ ഗോത്രത്തലവന്മാരും അവിടെ കൂടിയിരുന്ന സകലരും, “ഞങ്ങൾ സാക്ഷികളാകുന്നു. നിന്റെ ഭവനത്തിലേക്കു വരുന്ന സ്ത്രീയെ യഹോവ ഇസ്രായേൽഗൃഹം പണിതവരായ റാഹേലിനെയും ലേയയെയുംപോലെ ആക്കട്ടെ. നീ എഫ്രാത്തയിൽ ആദരണീയനും ബേത്ലഹേമിൽ പ്രസിദ്ധനുമായിരിക്കട്ടെ.
All the people who were in the gate and the elders said, “We are witnesses. May Yahweh make the woman who has come into your house like Rachel and Leah, the two who built up the house of Israel; and may you prosper in Ephrathah and be renowned in Bethlehem.
12 യഹോവ ഈ സ്ത്രീയിൽ നിനക്കു നൽകുന്ന സന്തതിയാൽ നിന്റെ കുടുംബം താമാർ യെഹൂദയ്ക്കു പ്രസവിച്ച ഫേരെസിന്റേതുപോലെ ആകട്ടെ” എന്ന് ആശംസിച്ചു.
May your house be like the house of Perez, whom Tamar bore to Judah, through the offspring that Yahweh will give you with this young woman.”
13 ഇങ്ങനെ ബോവസ് രൂത്തിനെ വിവാഹംകഴിച്ചു. അവൾ അവനു ഭാര്യയായി. അദ്ദേഹം അവളെ അറിഞ്ഞപ്പോൾ, യഹോവ കരുണചെയ്തു. അവൾ ഗർഭവതിയായി, ഒരു മകനെ പ്രസവിച്ചു.
So Boaz took Ruth, and she became his wife. He slept with her, and Yahweh allowed her to become pregnant, and she bore a son.
14 അപ്പോൾ സ്ത്രീകൾ നവൊമിയോട്: “നിനക്ക് ഇന്നൊരു വീണ്ടെടുപ്പുകാരനെ നൽകിയ യഹോവ വാഴ്ത്തപ്പെടട്ടെ. ഇസ്രായേലിലൊക്കെയും ഈ പൈതൽ പ്രസിദ്ധനാകട്ടെ!
The women said to Naomi, “May Yahweh be blessed, who has not left you today without a near kinsman, this baby. May his name be famous in Israel.
15 അവൻ നിനക്കു പുതിയ ജീവൻ നൽകി, നിന്റെ വാർധക്യത്തിൽ നിന്നെ സംരക്ഷിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യട്ടെ. കാരണം ഏഴു പുത്രന്മാരെക്കാൾ ശ്രേഷ്ഠയും നിന്നെ സ്നേഹിക്കുന്നവളുമായ നിന്റെ മരുമകൾ അവനു ജന്മം നൽകിയിരിക്കുന്നു.”
May he be for you a restorer of life and a nourisher of your old age, for your daughter-in-law, who loves you, who is better to you than seven sons, has borne him.”
16 അതിനുശേഷം നവൊമി പൈതലിനെ എടുത്തു, മടിയിൽ കിടത്തി അവനെ ശുശ്രൂഷിച്ചു.
Naomi took the child, laid him in her bosom, and took care of him.
17 അയൽവാസികളായ സ്ത്രീകൾ: “നവൊമിക്ക് ഒരു മകൻ ജനിച്ചു!” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. അവർ അവന് ഓബേദ് എന്നു പേരിട്ടു. അവൻ ദാവീദിന്റെ പിതാവായ യിശ്ശായിയുടെ പിതാവ്.
The women of the neighborhood gave him a name, saying, “A son has been born to Naomi.” They named him Obed. He became the father of Jesse, who became the father of David.
18 ഇതാണ് ഫേരെസിന്റെ വംശാവലി: ഫേരെസ് ഹെസ്രോന്റെ പിതാവ്,
Now these were the descendants of Perez: Perez became the father of Hezron,
19 ഹെസ്രോൻ രാമിന്റെ പിതാവ്, രാം അമ്മീനാദാബിന്റെ പിതാവ്,
Hezron became the father of Ram, Ram became the father of Amminadab,
20 അമ്മീനാദാബ് നഹശോന്റെ പിതാവ്, നഹശോൻ സൽമോന്റെ പിതാവ്,
Amminadab became the father of Nahshon, Nahshon became the father of Salmon,
21 സൽമോൻ ബോവസിന്റെ പിതാവ്, ബോവസ് ഓബേദിന്റെ പിതാവ്,
Salmon became the father of Boaz, Boaz became the father of Obed,
22 ഓബേദ് യിശ്ശായിയുടെ പിതാവ്, യിശ്ശായി ദാവീദിന്റെ പിതാവ്.
Obed became the father of Jesse, and Jesse became the father of David.
