റോമർ 2

1 ആകയാൽ ശിക്ഷവിധിക്കുന്ന മനുഷ്യാ, നീ ആരുമായിക്കൊള്ളട്ടെ, നിനക്ക് ഒരു ന്യായീകരണവും പറയാനില്ല. മറ്റുള്ളവരെ ശിക്ഷവിധിക്കുന്നതിലൂടെ നീ നിന്നെത്തന്നെയാണ് ശിക്ഷവിധിക്കുന്നത്. കാരണം, ഏതു കാര്യത്തിനു മറ്റൊരാളെ ശിക്ഷവിധിക്കുന്നോ അതേകാര്യം നീയും പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്നുണ്ടല്ലോ.

Therefore yoʋ are without excuse, O man, every one of you who judges. For on whatever grounds yoʋ judge another, yoʋ condemn yoʋrself, for yoʋ who judge do the same things.

2 ഇത്തരം പ്രവൃത്തികൾ ചെയ്യുന്നവർക്കെതിരേ ദൈവം സത്യം ആധാരമാക്കി ശിക്ഷവിധിക്കുമെന്ന് നമുക്കറിയാം.

Now we know that the judgment of God against those who do such things is in accordance with truth.

3 അതുകൊണ്ട് ഹേ മനുഷ്യാ, അത്തരം പ്രവൃത്തികൾ ചെയ്യുന്നവരെ ശിക്ഷവിധിച്ചിട്ട് അതേ പ്രവൃത്തിതന്നെ ചെയ്യുന്ന നിനക്കു ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ശിക്ഷാവിധിയിൽനിന്ന് രക്ഷപ്പെടാൻ സാധിക്കും എന്നു നീ വിചാരിക്കുന്നുണ്ടോ?

Do yoʋ suppose, O man—yoʋ who judge those who do such things and yet do them yoʋrself—that yoʋ will escape the judgment of God?

4 ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ദയ നിന്നെ മാനസാന്തരത്തിലേക്കു നയിക്കുന്നതിനാണെന്ന് തിരിച്ചറിയാതെ നീ അവിടത്തെ സമൃദ്ധമായ ദയയും സഹിഷ്ണുതയും ദീർഘക്ഷമയും നിസ്സാരമായി കരുതുകയാണോ?

Or do yoʋ despise the riches of his kindness, forbearance, and patience, not knowing that the kindness of God leads yoʋ to repentance?

5 എന്നാൽ, ദൈവത്തിന്റെ നീതിയുള്ള വിധി വെളിപ്പെടുന്ന ക്രോധദിവസത്തേക്കു, നിന്റെ ശാഠ്യവും അനുതാപമില്ലാത്ത ഹൃദയവും നിമിത്തം നിനക്കുതന്നെ ദൈവക്രോധം ശേഖരിച്ചുവെക്കുകയാണ്.

But according to yoʋr stubbornness and yoʋr unrepentant heart, yoʋ are storing up wrath for yoʋrself on the day of wrath, revelation, and the righteous judgment of God,

6 ദൈവം “ഓരോ വ്യക്തിക്കും അവനവന്റെ പ്രവൃത്തിക്കനുസരിച്ചു പകരംചെയ്യും.”

who will repay each person according to his works.

7 നിരന്തരം നന്മപ്രവൃത്തികൾ ചെയ്തുകൊണ്ടു മഹത്ത്വവും മാനവും അനശ്വരതയും അന്വേഷിക്കുന്നവർക്ക് അവിടന്നു നിത്യജീവൻ നൽകും. (aiōnios g166)

To those who by patient endurance in good works seek glory, honor, and immortality, he will give eternal life; (aiōnios g166)

8 എന്നാൽ, സത്യം അനുസരിക്കാതെ സ്വാർഥചിന്തയോടുകൂടി ദുഷ്ടതയെ അനുസരിക്കുന്നവരുടെമേൽ കോപവും ക്രോധവും വർഷിക്കും.

but for those who are self-seeking and obey unrighteousness instead of the truth, there will be anger and wrath.

9 തിന്മചെയ്യുന്ന ഏതു മനുഷ്യജീവിക്കും ഒന്നാമതു യെഹൂദനും പിന്നീട് യെഹൂദേതരനും പീഡയും സങ്കടവും ഉണ്ടാകും.

There will be tribulation and distress for everyone who does evil, the Jew first and also the Greek;

10 എന്നാൽ, നന്മ പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്നവർക്കെല്ലാം, ഒന്നാമതു യെഹൂദനും പിന്നീട് യെഹൂദേതരനും മഹത്ത്വവും ബഹുമാനവും സമാധാനവും ലഭിക്കും;

but there will be glory, honor, and peace for everyone who does good, the Jew first and also the Greek.

11 കാരണം, ദൈവം പക്ഷഭേദം ഇല്ലാത്തവനാണ്.

For there is no partiality with God.

12 ന്യായപ്രമാണം ലഭിക്കാതെ പാപംചെയ്ത യെഹൂദേതരരെല്ലാം ന്യായപ്രമാണംകൂടാതെതന്നെ നശിക്കും. ന്യായപ്രമാണം ഉണ്ടായിട്ടും പാപംചെയ്ത യെഹൂദരെല്ലാം ന്യായപ്രമാണത്താൽ ശിക്ഷവിധിക്കപ്പെടും.

For all who have sinned without the law will also perish without the law, and all who have sinned under the law will be judged by the law.

13 ന്യായപ്രമാണം വെറുതേ കേൾക്കുന്നവരല്ല, ദൈവസന്നിധിയിൽ നീതിനിഷ്ഠർ; ന്യായപ്രമാണം അനുസരിക്കുന്നവരാണ് നീതീകരിക്കപ്പെടുന്നത്.

For it is not the hearers of the law who are righteous before God, but the doers of the law will be justified.

14 ന്യായപ്രമാണം ഇല്ലാത്ത യെഹൂദേതരർ അവ കേൾക്കാതെ സ്വാഭാവികമായിത്തന്നെ ന്യായപ്രമാണം അനുശാസിക്കുന്ന കാര്യങ്ങൾ പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്നു. ഇങ്ങനെ അവർ തങ്ങൾക്കുതന്നെ ഒരു ന്യായപ്രമാണമായിത്തീരുന്നു.

For when Gentiles, who do not have the law, by nature do what is required by the law, they are a law to themselves, even though they do not have the law.

15 അവരുടെ ചിന്തകൾ അവരെ കുറ്റപ്പെടുത്തുകയോ ന്യായീകരിക്കുകയോ ചെയ്തും അവരുടെ മനസ്സാക്ഷികൂടെ അതിനു സാക്ഷ്യംവഹിച്ചും ന്യായപ്രമാണം അനുശാസിക്കുന്ന പ്രവൃത്തികൾ അവരുടെ ഹൃദയത്തിൽ എഴുതപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നതായി കാണിക്കുന്നു.

They show that what the law requires is written in their hearts, as their conscience bears witness with them and their conflicting thoughts accuse or even defend them

16 ഞാൻ പ്രസംഗിക്കുന്ന സുവിശേഷം അനുസരിച്ച് ഒരു ദിവസം ദൈവം യേശുക്രിസ്തുവിലൂടെ മനുഷ്യരുടെ രഹസ്യങ്ങളെ ന്യായംവിധിക്കും.

on the day when, according to my gospel, God will judge the secret thoughts of men through Jesus Christ.

17 എന്നാൽ, നീ നിന്നെത്തന്നെ യെഹൂദൻ എന്നു വിളിക്കുകയും ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തിൽ ആശ്രയിക്കുകയും ദൈവത്തോടുള്ള ബന്ധത്തെക്കുറിച്ച് ആത്മപ്രശംസ നടത്തുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നല്ലോ.

Behold, yoʋ call yoʋrself a Jew and rely on the law and boast in God.

18 നീ ന്യായപ്രമാണം പഠിച്ചതിന്റെ ഫലമായി ദൈവഹിതം തിരിച്ചറിയുകയും ഉത്തമമായത് അംഗീകരിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നല്ലോ;

Yoʋ know his will and approve what is excellent, because yoʋ are instructed from the law.

19 ജ്ഞാനത്തിന്റെയും സത്യത്തിന്റെയും സാക്ഷാത്കാരം ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തിൽനിന്നു ലഭിച്ചിട്ടുള്ളതുകൊണ്ട് നീ അന്ധർക്കു വഴികാട്ടുന്ന വ്യക്തിയും ഇരുട്ടിലുള്ളവർക്കു പ്രകാശവും

And yoʋ have confidence that yoʋ yoʋrself are a guide for the blind, a light for those who are in darkness,

20 മൂഢർക്ക് പരിശീലകനും ശിശുക്കൾക്ക് അധ്യാപകനും ആണെന്നും പൂർണനിശ്ചയമുള്ളവനായിരിക്കുന്നല്ലോ.

an instructor of the foolish, and a teacher of children, because yoʋ have in the law the embodiment of knowledge and truth.

21 എങ്കിൽ, മറ്റുള്ളവരെ ഉപദേശിക്കുന്ന നീ എന്തുകൊണ്ട് നിന്നെത്തന്നെ ഉപദേശിക്കുന്നില്ല? മോഷ്ടിക്കരുത് എന്നു പ്രസംഗിക്കുന്ന നീ മോഷ്ടിക്കുന്നോ?

Yoʋ then who teach others, do yoʋ not teach yoʋrself? Yoʋ who preach against stealing, do yoʋ steal?

22 വ്യഭിചാരം ചെയ്യരുത് എന്നു ജനങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്ന നീ വ്യഭിചാരംചെയ്യുന്നോ? വിഗ്രഹങ്ങളെ വെറുക്കുന്ന നീ ക്ഷേത്രങ്ങൾ കൊള്ളയടിക്കുന്നോ?

Yoʋ who tell others not to commit adultery, do yoʋ commit adultery? Yoʋ who abhor idols, do yoʋ rob temples?

23 ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തെപ്പറ്റി ആത്മപ്രശംസ ചെയ്യുന്ന നീ ന്യായപ്രമാണം ലംഘിച്ച് ദൈവത്തെ അപമാനിക്കുകയാണോ?

Yoʋ who boast in the law, do yoʋ dishonor God by transgressing the law?

24 “നിങ്ങൾനിമിത്തം ദൈവനാമം യെഹൂദരല്ലാത്തവരുടെ ഇടയിൽ നിന്ദിക്കപ്പെടുന്നു” എന്നെഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നല്ലോ!

As it is written, “The name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles because of you.”

25 നീ ന്യായപ്രമാണം അനുസരിക്കുന്നെങ്കിൽ പരിച്ഛേദനം പ്രയോജനമുള്ളതാകും; എന്നാൽ ന്യായപ്രമാണം ലംഘിച്ചാലോ നീ പരിച്ഛേദനം സ്വീകരിക്കാത്തതിനു തുല്യമായിത്തീരുന്നു.

Circumcision does indeed benefit yoʋ if yoʋ observe the law, but if yoʋ transgress the law, yoʋr circumcision has become uncircumcision.

26 പരിച്ഛേദനം സ്വീകരിച്ചിട്ടില്ലാത്തവർ ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തിലെ വിധികളനുസരിച്ചാൽ പരിച്ഛേദനമുള്ളവരെപ്പോലെ അവരും പരിഗണിക്കപ്പെടുകയില്ലേ?

If then an uncircumcised man keeps the ordinances of the law, will not his uncircumcision be regarded as circumcision?

27 ശരീരത്തിൽ പരിച്ഛേദനം ഏൽക്കാതെതന്നെ ന്യായപ്രമാണം അനുസരിക്കുന്ന യെഹൂദേതരൻ, ലിഖിതനിയമസംഹിതയും പരിച്ഛേദനവും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നിട്ടും നിയമം ലംഘിക്കുന്ന നിന്നെ കുറ്റംവിധിക്കും.

Then he who is physically uncircumcised and carries out the law will judge yoʋ who, despite having the letter of the law and circumcision, transgress the law.

28 കാരണം, പുറമേ യെഹൂദനായിരിക്കുന്നവനല്ല യഥാർഥ യെഹൂദൻ; അതുപോലെ, യഥാർഥ പരിച്ഛേദനം, ശരീരത്തിൽ ചെയ്യുന്ന ബാഹ്യമായ ഒന്നല്ല.

For he is not a Jew who is one outwardly, neither is circumcision something outward in the flesh;

29 പിന്നെയോ, അകമേ യെഹൂദനായിരിക്കുന്നവനാണ് യഥാർഥ യെഹൂദൻ; ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തിലെ അക്ഷരപ്രകാരമുള്ളതല്ല, ആത്മാവിനാൽ ഹൃദയത്തിൽ ഉള്ളതാണ് ശരിയായ പരിച്ഛേദനം. ഇങ്ങനെയുള്ളവർക്ക് മനുഷ്യരിൽനിന്നല്ല, ദൈവത്തിൽനിന്നുതന്നെ പ്രശംസ ലഭിക്കും.

but he is a Jew who is one inwardly, and circumcision is a matter of the heart, by the Spirit, not by the letter. Such a man's praise comes not from men but from God.
