റോമർ 11
1 ഞാൻ ചോദിക്കട്ടെ, അപ്പോൾ ദൈവം തന്റെ ജനത്തെ ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചു എന്നാണോ? നിശ്ചയമായും അല്ല. അബ്രാഹാമിന്റെ പിൻഗാമിയായി, ബെന്യാമീൻഗോത്രത്തിൽ ജനിച്ച ഞാനും ഒരു ഇസ്രായേല്യനാണല്ലോ.
Then I ask, Did God cast off his people? No indeed. For I also am an Israelite, a son of Abraham, a member of the tribe of Benjamin.
2 ദൈവം മുന്നറിഞ്ഞ സ്വന്തം ജനത്തെ അവിടന്ന് ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചിട്ടില്ല. തിരുവെഴുത്തുകളിൽ ഏലിയാവിനെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള ഭാഗത്ത് ഇസ്രായേലിനു വിരോധമായി അദ്ദേഹം പ്രാർഥിക്കുന്നത് നിങ്ങൾക്കറിയില്ലേ?
God did not cast off his people whom he foreknew. For do you not know what is said in the Scripture about Elijah? how he pleaded with God against Israel, saying,
3 “കർത്താവേ, അങ്ങയുടെ പ്രവാചകന്മാരെ അവർ വധിക്കുകയും യാഗപീഠങ്ങൾ തകർക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു; ഞാൻ ഒരുവൻമാത്രം അവശേഷിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; അവർ എന്നെയും കൊല്ലാൻ ശ്രമിക്കുകയാണ്.”
Lord, they have killed thy prophets, they have overthrown thine altars; And now I alone am left, and they seek my life.
4 എന്നാൽ, ഇതിന് എന്തായിരുന്നു ദൈവത്തിന്റെ മറുപടി? “ബാലിനെ നമസ്കരിക്കാത്ത ഏഴായിരംപേരെ ഞാൻ എനിക്കായി സൂക്ഷിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.”
But what was the answer of God to him? I have reserved for myself seven thousand who have not bowed the knee to Baal.
5 അതേപോലെതന്നെ, ഇക്കാലത്തും കൃപയാൽ തെരഞ്ഞെടുക്കപ്പെട്ട ഒരു ശേഷിപ്പുണ്ടായിരിക്കുന്നു.
In the same way also at this time there is a remnant chosen by gift of grace.
6 കൃപയാൽ എങ്കിൽ, അതു പ്രവൃത്തികളാൽ ആയിരിക്കുകയില്ല; പ്രവൃത്തികളാലെങ്കിൽ കൃപ ഒരിക്കലും കൃപയായിരിക്കുകയുമില്ല.
But if it is by grace, it is no longer of works; or else grace is no more grace.
7 അപ്പോൾ എന്താണ്? ഇസ്രായേൽ അന്വേഷിച്ച നീതീകരണം അവർക്കു ലഭിച്ചില്ല; എന്നാൽ തെരഞ്ഞെടുക്കപ്പെട്ട ചിലർക്ക് അതു ലഭിച്ചു, ശേഷമുള്ളവരോ കഠിനഹൃദയർ ആയിത്തീർന്നു.
What then? that which Israel has been seeking for, that he has not obtained; but the chosen have obtained it, and the rest have been hardened.
8 “ദൈവം അവർക്കു മരവിച്ച ആത്മാവും കാണാത്ത കണ്ണുകളും കേൾക്കാത്ത കാതുകളും നൽകി. അവ ഇപ്പോഴും അങ്ങനെതന്നെ തുടരുന്നു,” എന്നെഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നല്ലോ!
According as it is written, God has given them a spirit of slumber, Eyes that they should not see, Ears that they should not hear, unto this day.
9 ദാവീദ് പറയുന്നത് ഇങ്ങനെയാണ്: “അവരുടെ സമൃദ്ധമായ മേശ ഒരു കെണി; എല്ലാം ശുഭമെന്നു തെറ്റിദ്ധരിപ്പിക്കുന്ന ഒരു മായാജാലം ആകട്ടെ. അവരുടെ അനുഗ്രഹങ്ങൾ അവരെ ഇടറി വീഴുമാറാക്കട്ടെ, അവർ അർഹിക്കുന്നതുതന്നെ അവർക്കു ലഭിക്കട്ടെ.
As David says. Let their table be made a snare and a trap, And a stumbling-block and a recompense unto them;
10 കാണാൻ കഴിയാതവണ്ണം അവരുടെ കണ്ണുകൾ ഇരുണ്ടുപോകട്ടെ; അവരുടെ അരക്കെട്ടുകൾ എന്നേക്കുമായി കുനിഞ്ഞുപോകട്ടെ.”
Let their eyes be darkened, that they may not see, And bow thou down their backs forever.
11 ഞാൻ പിന്നെയും ചോദിക്കുകയാണ്: “ഇസ്രായേൽ ഇടറിയത് എന്നേക്കുമായ വീഴ്ചയ്ക്കായാണോ?” ഒരിക്കലുമല്ല; പിന്നെയോ, അവരുടെ നിയമലംഘനംമൂലം ഇസ്രായേല്യർ അല്ലാത്തവർക്കു രക്ഷ വന്നിട്ട് ഇസ്രായേല്യരിൽ അസൂയ ജനിപ്പിക്കാനാണ്.
I ask then, "Have they stumbled so as to fall?" No indeed; but by their lapse salvation has come unto Gentiles, "to provoke Israel to jealousy."
12 എന്നാൽ അവരുടെ ലംഘനവും പരാജയവും ശേഷംലോകത്തിന് അനുഗ്രഹസമൃദ്ധി നൽകിയെങ്കിൽ അവരുടെ പൂർണ പുനഃസ്ഥാപനം നിമിത്തം ലഭിക്കുന്ന അനുഗ്രഹം എത്ര സമൃദ്ധമായിരിക്കും!
Now if their stumbling enriches the world, and their loss enriches the Gentiles, how much more must their fulness do!
13 ഇസ്രായേല്യർ അല്ലാത്ത നിങ്ങളോടു ഞാൻ പറയട്ടെ: ഇസ്രായേല്യർ അല്ലാത്തവരുടെ അപ്പൊസ്തലൻ എന്ന ശുശ്രൂഷയിൽ ഞാൻ അഭിമാനിക്കുന്നു;
For to you who are Gentiles I say that since I am an apostle to the Gentiles, I glorify my ministry,
14 കാരണം, സ്വന്തം ജനത്തിന് ഏതുവിധേനയും അസൂയയുളവാക്കി അവരിൽ ചിലരെയെങ്കിലും രക്ഷപ്പെടുത്താമല്ലോ.
if by any means I might "provoke to jealousy" my kinsmen, and save some among them.
15 അവരെ തിരസ്കരിച്ചതു ലോകം ദൈവത്തോട് അനുരഞ്ജനപ്പെടുന്നതിനു കാരണമായെങ്കിൽ, അവരെ അംഗീകരിക്കുന്നത് മരിച്ചവരിൽനിന്നുള്ള പുനരുത്ഥാനത്തിനല്ലാതെ മറ്റെന്തിനു കാരണമാകും?
For if their casting out is the reconciliation of the world to God, what will their restoration be but life out of death?
16 ധാന്യമാവിൽനിന്ന് ആദ്യഫലമായി അർപ്പിക്കപ്പെടുന്ന അംശം വിശുദ്ധമെങ്കിൽ ആ മാവു മുഴുവനും വിശുദ്ധം ആയിരിക്കും; വേര് വിശുദ്ധമെങ്കിൽ ശാഖകളും വിശുദ്ധംതന്നെ.
Now if the first-fruits of the dough Abraham and the Patriarchs are holy, so also is the whole mass their descendants. And if the root of a tree Abraham is holy, so also are the branches his descendants.
17 ഒലിവുവൃക്ഷത്തിന്റെ ചില ശാഖകൾ വെട്ടിമാറ്റിയിട്ട്, ആ സ്ഥാനത്ത് കാട്ടൊലിവിന്റെ ശാഖയായ നിന്നെ മറ്റു ശാഖകളുടെ ഇടയിൽ ഒട്ടിച്ചുചേർത്തതുമൂലം ഒലിവിന്റെ വേരിൽനിന്നുള്ള പോഷകരസത്തിനു നീ പങ്കാളിയായിത്തീർന്നു. അതോർത്ത്
Supposing that some of the branches have been broken off, and you, although you were but a wild olive, have been grafted in among the branches and have become a partaker with them of the fatness of the olive tree, do not glory over the branches;
18 മറ്റു ശാഖകളെക്കാൾ നിനക്കു ശ്രേഷ്ഠതയുണ്ടെന്നു നീ ചിന്തിക്കരുത്. അങ്ങനെ അഭിമാനം തോന്നുന്നെങ്കിൽ നീ വേരിനെയല്ല, വേരു നിന്നെയാണു വഹിക്കുന്നതെന്ന് ഓർക്കുക.
or if you are glorying, remember that it is not you who uphold the root, but the root which upholds you.
19 “എന്നെ ഒട്ടിച്ചുചേർക്കേണ്ടതിന് ആ ശാഖകൾ വെട്ടിമാറ്റി” എന്നായിരിക്കും നീ പറയുന്നത്.
"Branches have been broken off," you say, "that I might be grafted in."
20 ശരിതന്നെ, എന്നാൽ അവരുടെ അവിശ്വാസംനിമിത്തമാണ് അവരെ വെട്ടിമാറ്റിയത്. നീ ചേർന്നു നിൽക്കുന്നതോ നിന്റെ വിശ്വാസത്താലുമാണ്. അഹങ്കരിക്കരുത്, ഭയപ്പെടുക.
True, through their unbelief they were broken off, and by your faith you stand. Do not be puffed up, but fear;
21 സ്വാഭാവികശാഖകളോടു ദൈവം ദാക്ഷിണ്യം കാണിച്ചില്ല എങ്കിൽ നിന്നോടും ദാക്ഷിണ്യം കാണിക്കുകയില്ല.
for if God spared not the natural branches, neither will he spare you.
22 അതുകൊണ്ടു ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ദയയും കാർക്കശ്യവും മറക്കാതിരിക്കുക; വീണവരോട് കാർക്കശ്യവും നിന്നോടോ, നീ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ദയയിൽ നിലനിന്നാൽ, കാരുണ്യവും അവിടന്നു കാണിക്കും. അല്ലാത്തപക്ഷം നീയും ഛേദിക്കപ്പെടും.
Fix your gaze, therefore, on the goodness and the severity of God; towards those who fell, severity, but towards you, God’s goodness, if you continue stedfast in his goodness; otherwise you, too, will be cut off.
23 അവർ അവിശ്വാസത്തിൽ തുടരാത്തപക്ഷം അവരെ വീണ്ടും ഒട്ടിച്ചുചേർക്കും; ഒട്ടിക്കാൻ ദൈവത്തിനു കഴിയുമല്ലോ!
And they also those Jews, if they do not continue in their unbelief, will be grafted in again; for God is able to graft them in again.
24 പ്രകൃത്യാ കാട്ടൊലിവിന്റെ ശാഖയായിരുന്ന നിന്നെ മുറിച്ചെടുത്ത്, നട്ടുവളർത്തപ്പെട്ട ഒലിവുമരത്തിൽ അസാധാരണമാംവിധം ഒട്ടിച്ചുചേർത്തു എങ്കിൽ, സ്വാഭാവിക ശാഖകൾ സ്വന്തം ഒലിവുമരത്തിൽ ഇനി ഒട്ടിച്ചുചേർക്കപ്പെടുന്നതിനുള്ള സാധ്യത എത്രയധികം!
For if you were cut out of that which is by nature a mere wild olive tree, and have been grafted, contrary to nature, into a fruitful olive tree, how much more shall these, the natural branches, be regrafted into their own olive tree?
25 സഹോദരങ്ങളേ, ഈ രഹസ്യത്തെക്കുറിച്ച് നിങ്ങൾ അജ്ഞരാകരുതെന്നു ഞാൻ ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നു, അല്ലാത്തപക്ഷം നിങ്ങൾ ജ്ഞാനികളെന്ന് അഹങ്കരിക്കും. യെഹൂദേതരരിൽനിന്ന് ക്രിസ്തുവിൽ വിശ്വസിക്കാനുള്ളവരുടെ സംഖ്യ പൂർണമാകുന്നതുവരെ ഒരുവിഭാഗം ഇസ്രായേല്യർക്കു ഹൃദയകാഠിന്യം സംഭവിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.
For I would not, my brothers, have you ignorant of this hidden truth, for fear that you become wise in your own conceits. that a hardening in part has befallen Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles is come in.
26 ഇങ്ങനെ ഇസ്രായേൽ മുഴുവനും രക്ഷപ്രാപിക്കും. “വിടുവിക്കുന്നവൻ സീയോനിൽനിന്ന് വരും; അവിടന്ന് യാക്കോബിൽനിന്ന് അഭക്തി അകറ്റിക്കളയും.
And so all Israel will be saved, as it is written. The deliver will come from Zion, He will banish all ungodliness from Jacob;
27 ഞാൻ അവരുടെ പാപങ്ങൾ നീക്കിക്കളയുമ്പോൾ ഇതായിരിക്കും അവരോടുള്ള എന്റെ ഉടമ്പടി,” എന്ന് എഴുതപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നല്ലോ.
This is my covenant with them, When I shall take away their sins.
28 സുവിശേഷം സംബന്ധിച്ചിടത്തോളം അവർ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ശത്രുക്കളായിരിക്കുന്നത് നിങ്ങളുടെ നന്മയ്ക്കായാണ്. എന്നാൽ, അവരുടെ പൂർവികരെ ദൈവം തെരഞ്ഞെടുത്തു എന്ന കാരണത്താൽ അവർ ഇപ്പോഴും ദൈവത്തിനു പ്രിയപ്പെട്ടവർ.
In relation to the gospel, the Jews are God’s enemies for your sake; but in relation to the election, they are dearly loved for their forefather’s sake.
29 കാരണം, ദൈവത്തിന്റെ കൃപാദാനങ്ങളും വിളിയും തിരിച്ചെടുക്കാൻ കഴിയാത്തവയാണ്.
For no change of purpose can annul God’s free gift and call.
30 ഒരുകാലത്ത് ദൈവത്തോട് അനുസരണയില്ലാത്തവരായിരുന്ന നിങ്ങൾക്ക് അവരുടെ അനുസരണക്കേടു നിമിത്തം ഇപ്പോൾ കരുണ ലഭിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.
And as in times past you were yourselves disobedient to God, but now, thanks to their disobedience, have obtained mercy;
31 അതുപോലെ, ദൈവം നിങ്ങളോടു കാണിച്ച അതേ കരുണ അവർക്കും ലഭിക്കേണ്ടതിന് അവരും ഇപ്പോൾ അനുസരണകെട്ടവരായിത്തീർന്നിരിക്കുന്നു.
even so they also have now been disobedient, that by the mercy shown to you they also may now obtain mercy.
32 എല്ലാവരോടും കരുണ കാണിക്കുക എന്ന ലക്ഷ്യത്തോടെയാണ് ഇങ്ങനെ ദൈവം എല്ലാവരെയും അനുസരണക്കേടിനു വിധേയരാക്കുന്നത്. (eleēsē g1653)
For God has locked up all in the prison of disobedience, that upon all he may have mercy. (eleēsē g1653)
33 ഹോ, ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ജ്ഞാനം, വിവേകം എന്നിവയുടെ സമൃദ്ധി എത്ര അപരിമേയം! അവിടത്തെ വിധികൾ എത്ര അപ്രമേയം! അവിടത്തെ വഴികൾ എത്ര അഗോചരം!
Oh, the depths of the riches, both of the wisdom and the knowledge of God! How unfathomable are his judgments, and how unsearchable his paths!
34 “കർത്താവിന്റെ മനസ്സ് അറിഞ്ഞതാര്? അവിടത്തെ ഉപദേഷ്ടാവായിരുന്നത് ആര്?”
Who has known the mind of the Lord? Or who has been his counsellor?
35 “തിരികെ വാങ്ങാനായി ദൈവത്തിനു കടംകൊടുത്തവനാര്?”
Who has first given to Him, So as to receive payment in return?
