1 സംഗീതസംവിധായകന്. ഗഥ്യരാഗത്തിൽ. ആസാഫിന്റെ ഒരു സങ്കീർത്തനം. നമ്മുടെ ബലമായ ദൈവത്തിന് ആനന്ദഗീതമാലപിക്കുക; യാക്കോബിന്റെ ദൈവത്തിന് ആർപ്പിടുക!

To the chief Musician upon Gittith, [A Psalm] of Asaph. Sing aloud to God our strength: make a joyful noise to the God of Jacob.

2 തപ്പുകൊട്ടിയും ഇമ്പസ്വരമുള്ള കിന്നരവും വീണയും വായിച്ചും സംഗീതം തുടങ്ങുക.

Take a psalm, and bring hither the timbrel, the pleasant harp with the psaltery.

3 അമാവാസിയിലും പൗർണമിനാളിലുമുള്ള നമ്മുടെ ഉത്സവദിനങ്ങളിലും കോലാട്ടിൻകൊമ്പിനാൽ തീർത്ത കാഹളം മുഴക്കുക;

Blow the trumpet in the new moon, in the time appointed, on our solemn feast day.

4 ഇത് അവിടന്ന് ഇസ്രായേലിനു നൽകിയ ഉത്തരവും യാക്കോബിൻ ദൈവത്തിനൊരു അനുഷ്ഠാനവും ആകുന്നു.

For this [was] a statute for Israel, [and] a law of the God of Jacob.

5 ദൈവം ഈജിപ്റ്റിനെതിരേ പുറപ്പെട്ടപ്പോൾ, അവിടന്ന് ഇത് ഒരു നിയമമായി യോസേഫിന് സ്ഥാപിച്ചുകൊടുത്തു. അവിടെ ഞാൻ അപരിചിതമായ ഒരു ശബ്ദം കേട്ടു, അത് ഇപ്രകാരമായിരുന്നു:

This he ordained in Joseph [for] a testimony, when he went out through the land of Egypt: [where] I heard a language [that] I understood not.

6 “അവരുടെ തോളുകളിൽനിന്ന് ഞാൻ ഭാരമിറക്കിവെച്ചു; അവരുടെ കരങ്ങൾ കുട്ടകൾ വിട്ട് സ്വതന്ത്രമായിത്തീർന്നു.

I removed his shoulder from the burden: his hands were delivered from the pots.

7 നിങ്ങളുടെ ദുരിതത്തിൽ നിങ്ങൾ നിലവിളിച്ചു, ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളെ മോചിപ്പിച്ചു, ഇടിമുഴക്കത്തിൽനിന്ന് ഞാൻ നിങ്ങൾക്ക് ഉത്തരമരുളി; മെരീബയിലെ ജലാശയത്തിനരികെവെച്ച് ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളെ പരീക്ഷിച്ചു. (സേലാ)

Thou calledst in trouble, and I delivered thee; I answered thee in the secret place of thunder: I proved thee at the waters of Meribah. (Selah)

8 എന്റെ ജനമേ, ശ്രദ്ധിക്കുക, ഞാൻ നിങ്ങൾക്കു മുന്നറിയിപ്പുനൽകുന്നു— ഇസ്രായേലേ, നിങ്ങൾ എന്റെ വാക്ക് കേട്ടെങ്കിൽ കൊള്ളാമായിരുന്നു!

Hear, O my people, and I will testify to thee; O Israel, if thou wilt hearken to me;

9 നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയിൽ അന്യദേവൻ ഉണ്ടാകരുത്; ഒരു അന്യദേവന്റെയും മുമ്പാകെ നിങ്ങൾ വണങ്ങരുത്.

There shall no strange god be in thee; neither shalt thou worship any strange god.

10 നിങ്ങളെ ഈജിപ്റ്റിൽനിന്ന് കൊണ്ടുവന്ന നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ ഞാൻ ആകുന്നു. നിങ്ങളുടെ വായ് വിസ്താരത്തിൽ തുറക്കുക; ഞാൻ അതു നിറയ്ക്കും.

I [am] the LORD thy God who brought thee out of the land of Egypt: open thy mouth wide, and I will fill it.

11 “എന്നാൽ എന്റെ ജനം ഞാൻ പറയുന്നത് ശ്രദ്ധിക്കുന്നില്ല; ഇസ്രായേൽ എനിക്കു കീഴടങ്ങിയിരിക്കുന്നതുമില്ല.

But my people would not hearken to my voice; and Israel would not obey me.

12 അവർ അവരുടേതായ പദ്ധതികൾക്കനുസൃതമായി ജീവിക്കുന്നതിന് ഞാൻ അവരെ ഹൃദയകാഠിന്യത്തിന് ഏൽപ്പിച്ചു.

So I gave them up to their own hearts lust: [and] they walked in their own counsels.

13 “എന്റെ ജനം എന്റെ വാക്ക് കേട്ടിരുന്നെങ്കിൽ, ഇസ്രായേൽ എന്റെ വഴികളിൽ നടന്നിരുന്നെങ്കിൽ,

O that my people had hearkened to me, [and] Israel had walked in my ways!

14 ഞാൻ അവരുടെ ശത്രുക്കളെ അതിവേഗം കീഴടക്കുമായിരുന്നു! എന്റെ കൈ അവരുടെ വൈരികൾക്കെതിരേ തിരിക്കുമായിരുന്നു!

I should soon have subdued their enemies, and turned my hand against their adversaries.

15 യഹോവയെ വെറുക്കുന്നവർ അവിടത്തെ കാൽക്കൽവീണു കെഞ്ചുമായിരുന്നു, അവരുടെ ശിക്ഷ എന്നെന്നേക്കും നിലനിൽക്കുമായിരുന്നു.

The haters of the LORD should have submitted themselves to him: and their time should have endured for ever.

16 എന്നാൽ ഏറ്റവും മേൽത്തരമായ ഗോതമ്പുകൊണ്ട് ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളെ പരിപോഷിപ്പിക്കുമായിരുന്നു; പാറയിൽനിന്നുള്ള തേൻകൊണ്ട് ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളെ തൃപ്തരാക്കുമായിരുന്നു.”

He would have fed them also with the finest of the wheat: and with honey out of the rock I should have satisfied thee.
