1 സംഗീതസംവിധായകന്. “നശിപ്പിക്കരുതേ” എന്ന രാഗത്തിൽ. ആസാഫിന്റെ ഒരു സങ്കീർത്തനം. ഒരു ഗീതം. ദൈവമേ, ഞങ്ങൾ അങ്ങേക്ക് സ്തോത്രംചെയ്യുന്നു, അങ്ങയുടെ നാമം സമീപമായിരിക്കുകയാൽ ഞങ്ങൾ അങ്ങേക്ക് സ്തോത്രംചെയ്യുന്നു; ജനം അവിടത്തെ അത്ഭുതപ്രവൃത്തികളെ വർണിക്കുന്നു.

To the Overseer. — 'Destroy not.' — A Psalm of Asaph. — A Song. We have given thanks to Thee, O God, We have given thanks, and near [is] Thy name, They have recounted Thy wonders.

2 ദൈവം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: “ഞാൻ അനുയോജ്യമായ സമയം നിർണയിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; നീതിപൂർവം ന്യായംവിധിക്കുന്നതും ഞാൻ ആകുന്നു.

When I receive an appointment, I — I do judge uprightly.

3 ഭൂമിയും അതിലെ നിവാസികളും പ്രകമ്പനംകൊള്ളുമ്പോൾ അതിന്റെ തൂണുകളെ ഉറപ്പിച്ചുനിർത്തുന്നതും ഞാൻ ആകുന്നു. (സേലാ)

Melted is the earth and all its inhabitants, I — I have pondered its pillars. (Selah)

4 അഹങ്കാരികളോട്, ‘ഇനിയൊരിക്കലും അഹങ്കരിക്കരുത്’ എന്നും ദുഷ്ടരോട്, ‘നിങ്ങളുടെ കൊമ്പ് ഉയർത്തരുത്

I have said to the boastful, 'Be not boastful,' And to the wicked, 'Raise not up a horn.'

5 നിങ്ങളുടെ കൊമ്പ് മേലോട്ടുയർത്തരുത്; ശാഠ്യത്തോടെ സംസാരിക്കുകയുമരുത്’” എന്നും ഞാൻ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു.

Raise not up on high your horn, (Ye speak with a stiff neck.)

6 കിഴക്കുനിന്നോ പടിഞ്ഞാറുനിന്നോ മരുഭൂമിയിൽനിന്നോ അല്ല ഉയർച്ച കൈവരുന്നത്.

For not from the east, or from the west, Nor from the wilderness — [is] elevation.

7 വിധി കൽപ്പിക്കുന്നത് ദൈവം ആകുന്നു: അവിടന്ന് ഒരാളെ താഴ്ത്തുകയും മറ്റൊരാളെ ഉയർത്തുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു.

But God [is] judge, This He maketh low — and this He lifteth up.

8 സുഗന്ധദ്രവ്യങ്ങൾ ചേർത്തതും നുരഞ്ഞുപൊങ്ങുന്നതുമായ വീഞ്ഞുനിറച്ച ഒരു പാനപാത്രം യഹോവയുടെ കൈയിൽ ഉണ്ട്; അവിടന്ന് അത് പകരുന്നു, ഭൂമിയിലെ സകലദുഷ്ടരും അതിന്റെ മട്ടുവരെ ഊറ്റിക്കുടിക്കുന്നു.

For a cup [is] in the hand of Jehovah, And the wine hath foamed, It is full of mixture, and He poureth out of it, Only its dregs wring out, and drink, Do all the wicked of the earth,

9 എന്നാൽ ഞാൻ, ഞാൻ ഇത് എന്നേക്കും പ്രഘോഷിക്കും; ഞാൻ യാക്കോബിന്റെ ദൈവത്തിനു സ്തോത്രമർപ്പിക്കും.

And I — I declare [it] to the age, I sing praise to the God of Jacob.

10 അവിടന്ന് ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: “ഞാൻ എല്ലാ ദുഷ്ടരുടെയും കൊമ്പുകൾ ഛേദിച്ചുകളയും, എന്നാൽ നീതിനിഷ്ഠരുടെ കൊമ്പുകൾ ഉയർത്തപ്പെടും.”

And all horns of the wicked I cut off, Exalted are the horns of the righteous!
