സങ്കീർത്തനങ്ങൾ 73
1 ആസാഫിന്റെ ഒരു സങ്കീർത്തനം. ദൈവം ഇസ്രായേലിന് നല്ലവൻ ആകുന്നു, ഹൃദയനൈർമല്യമുള്ളവർക്കുതന്നെ.
A Melody of Asaph. Nothing but good, is God, Unto Israel, Unto the pure in heart.
2 എന്നാൽ എന്റെ പാദങ്ങൾ ഏറെക്കുറെ ഇടറി; എന്റെ കാൽച്ചുവടുകൾ ഏതാണ്ട് വഴുതിമാറി.
But, as for me, —My feet had, almost stumbled, My steps had, well-nigh slipped;
3 ദുഷ്ടരുടെ അഭിവൃദ്ധി കണ്ടപ്പോൾ അഹങ്കാരികളോട് ഞാൻ അസൂയപ്പെട്ടു.
For I was envious of the boasters, At the prosperity of the lawless, used I to look.
4 അവർക്കു യാതൊരുവിധ ബദ്ധപ്പാടുകളുമില്ല; അവരുടെ ശരീരം ആരോഗ്യവും ശക്തിയുമുള്ളത്.
For they have no pangs in their death, And vigorous is their body;
5 അവർ സാധാരണ ജനങ്ങളെപ്പോലെ ജീവിതഭാരം അനുഭവിക്കുന്നില്ല; ഇതര മനുഷ്യരെപ്പോലെ രോഗാതുരർ ആകുന്നില്ല.
Of the toil of weak mortals, have they none, Nor, with the sons of earth, are they hard smitten.
6 അതുകൊണ്ട് അഹങ്കാരംകൊണ്ടവർ ഹാരമണിയുന്നു; അക്രമംകൊണ്ടവർ അങ്കി ധരിക്കുന്നു
For this cause, doth arrogance deck them as a neck-chain, And a garment of wrong is their attire;
7 അവരുടെ കഠോരഹൃദയങ്ങളിൽനിന്ന് അകൃത്യം കവിഞ്ഞൊഴുകുന്നു; അവരുടെ ദുഷ്ടസങ്കൽപ്പങ്ങൾക്ക് അതിരുകളില്ല.
Their iniquity, hath proceeded from fatness, They have surpassed the imaginations of the heart;
8 അവർ പരിഹസിച്ച് വിദ്വേഷത്തോടെ സംസാരിക്കുന്നു; ധിക്കാരപൂർവമവർ പീഡനഭീഷണി മുഴക്കുന്നു.
They mock, and wickedly command oppression, From on high, they command;
9 അവരുടെ വായ് ആകാശത്തിനുമേൽ അധികാരമുറപ്പിക്കുന്നു, അവരുടെ നാവ് ഭൂമിയെ അധീനതയിലാക്കുന്നു.
They have set, in the heavens, their mouth, And, their tongue, marcheth through the earth.
10 അതുകൊണ്ട് അവരുടെ ജനം അവരിലേക്കു തിരിയുന്നു അവർ ധാരാളം വെള്ളം കുടിച്ചുതീർക്കുന്നു.
Therefore must his people return thither, And, the waters of abundance, are drained by them;
11 “ദൈവം എങ്ങനെ അറിയും? അത്യുന്നതന് അറിവുണ്ടോ?” എന്നിങ്ങനെ അവർ ചോദിക്കുന്നു.
And they say—How doth GOD know? And is there knowledge in the Most High?
12 ദുഷ്ടർ ഇപ്രകാരമാണ്— അവർ എപ്പോഴും സ്വസ്ഥരായിരുന്ന് സമ്പത്തു വർധിപ്പിക്കുന്നു.
Lo! these, are the lawless, Who are secure for an age, They have attained unto wealth.
13 ഞാൻ എന്റെ ഹൃദയം സംശുദ്ധമാക്കിയതും എന്റെ കൈകളെ നിഷ്കളങ്കതയിൽ കഴുകിയതും വൃഥാവിലായി, നിശ്ചയം.
Altogether in vain, Have I cleansed my heart, And bathed in pureness, my hands;
14 ഞാൻ ദിവസംമുഴുവനും പീഡിപ്പിക്കപ്പെട്ടുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നു, ഓരോ പ്രഭാതത്തിലും ഞാൻ ശിക്ഷ അനുഭവിക്കുന്നു.
And yet been smitten all the day, And been rebuked morning by morning!
15 ഞാൻ ഈ വിധം സംസാരിക്കണമെന്ന് നിരൂപിച്ചിരുന്നെങ്കിൽ, അങ്ങയുടെ മക്കളുടെ തലമുറയെ ഞാൻ വഞ്ചിക്കുമായിരുന്നു.
If I had thought, I will relate it thus, Lo! the circle of thy sons, had I betrayed.
16 ഇതെല്ലാം മനസ്സിലാക്കാൻ ഞാൻ പരിശ്രമിച്ചു എന്നാൽ എനിക്കത് ക്ലേശകരമായിരുന്നു.
When I reasoned, that I might understand this, A vexation, it was in mine eyes:
17 അങ്ങനെ ഞാൻ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ തിരുനിവാസത്തിൽ പ്രവേശിച്ചു; അപ്പോൾ അവരുടെ അന്തിമവിധിയെപ്പറ്റിയുള്ള അവബോധം എനിക്കു ലഭിച്ചു.
Until I could enter the holy places of God, —Could give heed to their hereafter: —
18 അങ്ങ് അവരെ വഴുവഴുപ്പുള്ള പ്രതലത്തിൽ നിർത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു, നിശ്ചയം; അവിടന്ന് അവരെ നാശത്തിലേക്കു തള്ളിയിടുന്നു.
Surely, in slippery places, dost thou set them, —Thou hast suffered them to fall into places of danger.
19 അവർ എത്രയും പെട്ടെന്ന് നശിപ്പിക്കപ്പെടുന്നു, കൊടുംഭീകരതകളാൽ അവർ നിശ്ശേഷം തുടച്ചുനീക്കപ്പെടുന്നു!
How have they become desolate, as in a moment! They have ceased—come to an end, by reason of calamities.
20 കർത്താവേ, അവിടന്ന് എഴുന്നേൽക്കുമ്പോൾ, ദുഃസ്വപ്നത്തിൽനിന്ന് ഞെട്ടിയുണർന്ന ഒരാളെപ്പോലെ അവിടന്ന് അവരെ വെറുക്കുമല്ലോ; ഒരു മായക്കാഴ്ചപോലെ അവരെ നിന്ദിച്ചുതള്ളുമല്ലോ.
As the dream of him that waketh, O my Lord! when rousing thyself up, their shadowy being, wilt thou despise.
21 എന്റെ ഹൃദയത്തിൽ കയ്‌പു നിറയുകയും എന്റെ അന്തരംഗം തകർന്നടിയുകയും ചെയ്തപ്പോൾ,
But my heart had grown embittered, And, in my reins, had I received wounds;
22 തിരുമുമ്പിൽ ഞാൻ ഒരു ഭോഷനും അജ്ഞനും വിവേകമില്ലാത്ത ഒരു മൃഗത്തെപ്പോലെയുള്ളവനും ആയിരുന്നു.
But, I, was brutish, and could not perceive, Like the beasts, had I become before thee.
23 എങ്കിലും ഞാൻ എപ്പോഴും അങ്ങയോടൊപ്പം ആയിരിക്കുന്നു; അവിടന്ന് എന്റെ വലങ്കൈയിൽ പിടിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.
Nevertheless, I, am continually before thee, Thou hast taken hold of my right hand;
24 അവിടന്ന് എനിക്ക് ആലോചന നൽകി നടത്തുന്നു, അതിനുശേഷം അവിടത്തെ മഹത്ത്വത്തിലേക്ക് എന്നെ ആനയിക്കുന്നു.
By thy counsel, wilt thou guide me, And, afterwards, unto glory, wilt thou take me.
25 സ്വർഗത്തിൽ അങ്ങല്ലാതെ മറ്റാരാണ് എനിക്കുള്ളത്? ഭൂമിയിലും അങ്ങയെ അല്ലാതെ മറ്റൊന്നും ഞാൻ ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നില്ല.
Whom have I in the heavens? And, compared with thee, there is nothing I desire on earth.
26 എന്റെ ശരീരവും ഹൃദയവും ദുർബലമായേക്കാം, എന്നാൽ ദൈവം എന്റെ ഹൃദയത്തിന്റെ ശക്തിയും എന്നേക്കുമുള്ള എന്റെ ഓഹരിയും ആകുന്നു.
Failed have my flesh and my heart, The rock of my heart—and my portion, is God unto times age-abiding.
27 അങ്ങയിൽനിന്ന് അകലം പാലിക്കുന്നവരെല്ലാം നശിച്ചുപോകും; അങ്ങയോട് അവിശ്വസ്തത പുലർത്തുന്ന എല്ലാവരെയും അവിടന്ന് നശിപ്പിക്കും.
For lo! they who are far from thee, shall perish, Thou hast put an end to every one who wandered unchastely from thee.
28 എന്നാൽ ദൈവത്തോട് അടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നതാണ് എനിക്ക് ഏറെ നല്ലത്. കർത്താവായ യഹോവയെ ഞാൻ എന്റെ സങ്കേതമാക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു; അവിടത്തെ പ്രവൃത്തികളെയെല്ലാം ഞാൻ വർണിക്കും.
But, as for me, the drawing near of God, is my blessedness, —I have made, of My Lord Yahweh, my refuge, —That I may recount all thy works.
