സങ്കീർത്തനങ്ങൾ 63

1 ദാവീദിന്റെ ഒരു സങ്കീർത്തനം; അദ്ദേഹം യെഹൂദാമരുഭൂമിയിൽ ആയിരുന്നകാലത്തു രചിച്ചത്. ദൈവമേ, അങ്ങാണ് എന്റെ ദൈവം, ആത്മാർഥതയോടെ ഞാൻ അങ്ങയെ അന്വേഷിക്കുന്നു; വെള്ളമില്ലാതെ ഉണങ്ങിവരണ്ട ദേശത്ത്, എന്റെ ആത്മാവ് അങ്ങേക്കായി ദാഹിക്കുന്നു, എന്റെ ശരീരംമുഴുവനും അങ്ങേക്കായി വാഞ്ഛിക്കുന്നു.

“A psalm of David, when he was in the wilderness of Judah.” O God! thou art my God! earnestly do I seek thee! My soul thirsteth, my flesh longeth for thee, In a dry, thirsty land. where is no water!

2 വിശുദ്ധമന്ദിരത്തിൽ ഞാൻ അങ്ങയെ ദർശിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു അവിടത്തെ ശക്തിയും അവിടത്തെ മഹത്ത്വവും ഞാൻ ഉറ്റുനോക്കുന്നു.

Thus I look toward thee in thy sanctuary, To behold thy power and thy glory!

3 കാരണം അവിടത്തെ അചഞ്ചലസ്നേഹം ജീവനെക്കാൾ നല്ലതാകുന്നു, എന്റെ അധരങ്ങൾ അങ്ങയെ മഹത്ത്വപ്പെടുത്തും.

For thy loving-kindness is better than life; Therefore my lips shall praise thee!

4 എന്റെ ജീവിതകാലംമുഴുവനും ഞാൻ അങ്ങയെ സ്തുതിക്കും, അവിടത്തെ നാമത്തിൽ ഞാൻ എന്റെ കൈകൾ ഉയർത്തും.

Thus will I bless thee, while I live; In thy name will I lift up my hands!

5 വിശിഷ്ടഭോജനം ആസ്വദിച്ചതുപോലെ എന്റെ പ്രാണൻ സംതൃപ്തമായിരിക്കുന്നു; എന്റെ അധരങ്ങൾ അങ്ങേക്ക് ആനന്ദഗാനം ആലപിക്കും.

My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness, And with joyful lips my mouth shall praise thee,

6 എന്റെ കിടക്കയിൽ ഞാൻ അങ്ങയെ ഓർക്കുന്നു; രാത്രിയാമങ്ങളിൽ ഞാൻ അങ്ങയെക്കുറിച്ച് ധ്യാനിക്കുന്നു.

When I think of thee upon my bed, And meditate on thee in the night-watches.

7 അവിടന്ന് എന്റെ സഹായകനായതിനാൽ, അങ്ങയുടെ ചിറകിൻനിഴലിൽ ഞാൻ ആനന്ദഗാനമാലപിക്കും.

For thou art my help, And in the shadow of thy wings I rejoice.

8 ഞാൻ അങ്ങയോട് പറ്റിച്ചേരുന്നു; അങ്ങയുടെ വലങ്കൈ എന്നെ താങ്ങിനിർത്തുന്നു.

My soul cleaveth to thee; Thy right hand holdeth me up.

9 എന്നെ വധിക്കാൻ പരിശ്രമിക്കുന്നവർ നശിച്ചുപോകും; അവർ ഭൂമിയുടെ അഗാധഗർത്തങ്ങളിലേക്ക് നിപതിക്കും.

While they who seek to destroy my life Shall themselves go down into the depths of the earth.

10 അവർ വാളിന് ഇരയാക്കപ്പെടും കുറുനരികൾക്കവർ ഇരയായിത്തീരും.

They shall be given up to the sword, And be a portion for jackals.

11 എന്നാൽ രാജാവ് ദൈവത്തിൽ ആനന്ദിക്കും; ദൈവനാമത്തിൽ ശപഥംചെയ്യുന്നവർ ദൈവത്തിൽ പുകഴും, എന്നാൽ ഭോഷ്കുപറയുന്ന വായ് നിശ്ശബ്ദമാക്കപ്പെടും.

But the king shall rejoice in God; All that swear by him shall be honored; But the mouth of liars shall be stopped.
