സങ്കീർത്തനങ്ങൾ 37
1 ദാവീദിന്റെ ഒരു സങ്കീർത്തനം. അധർമം പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്നവർനിമിത്തം അസ്വസ്ഥരാകുകയോ ദുഷ്ടരോട് അസൂയാലുക്കളാകുകയോ അരുത്.
A Psalm of David. Fret not thyself because of evil-doers, neither be thou envious against them that work unrighteousness.
2 പുല്ലുപോലെ അവർ വേഗത്തിൽ വാടിപ്പോകും പച്ചച്ചെടിപോലെ അവർ വേഗത്തിൽ ഇല്ലാതെയാകും.
For they shall soon wither like the grass, and fade as the green herb.
3 യഹോവയിൽ ആശ്രയിച്ചുകൊണ്ട് നന്മ പ്രവർത്തിക്കുക; എന്നാൽ, സുരക്ഷിതമായ മേച്ചിൽപ്പുറം ആസ്വദിച്ചുകൊണ്ട് ദേശത്തു ജീവിക്കാം.
Trust in the LORD, and do good; dwell in the land, and cherish faithfulness.
4 യഹോവയിൽ ആനന്ദിക്കുക, അപ്പോൾ അവിടന്നു നിന്റെ ഹൃദയാഭിലാഷങ്ങൾ നിറവേറ്റും.
So shalt thou delight thyself in the LORD; and He shall give thee the petitions of thy heart.
5 നിന്റെ വഴി യഹോവയെ ഭരമേൽപ്പിക്കുക; യഹോവയിൽത്തന്നെ ആശ്രയിക്കുക, അവിടന്നു നിന്നെ സഹായിക്കും:
Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in Him, and He will bring it to pass.
6 അവിടന്ന് നിന്റെ നീതിയെ ഉഷസ്സുപോലെ പ്രകാശപൂർണമാക്കും, നിന്റെ കുറ്റവിമുക്തി മധ്യാഹ്നസൂര്യനെപ്പോലെയും.
And He will make thy righteousness to go forth as the light, and thy right as the noonday.
7 യഹോവയുടെ സന്നിധിയിൽ മൗനമായിരിക്കുക അവിടത്തേക്കായി ക്ഷമാപൂർവം കാത്തിരിക്കുക; അധർമം പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്നവർ തങ്ങളുടെ വഴികളിൽ മുന്നേറുമ്പോൾ അസ്വസ്ഥരാകേണ്ടതില്ല, അവർ തങ്ങളുടെ കുതന്ത്രങ്ങൾ പ്രാവർത്തികമാക്കുമ്പോഴും.
Resign thyself unto the LORD, and wait patiently for Him; fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.
8 കോപത്തിൽനിന്ന് അകന്നിരിക്കുക ക്രോധത്തിൽനിന്ന് പിന്തിരിയുക; ഉത്കണ്ഠപ്പെടരുത്—അത് അധർമത്തിലേക്കുമാത്രമേ നയിക്കുകയുള്ളൂ.
Cease from anger, and forsake wrath; fret not thyself, it tendeth only to evil-doing.
9 കാരണം ദുഷ്ടർ ഉന്മൂലനംചെയ്യപ്പെടും, എന്നാൽ യഹോവയിൽ പ്രത്യാശയർപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നവർ ദേശം അവകാശമാക്കും.
For evil-doers shall be cut off; but those that wait for the LORD, they shall inherit the land.
10 ഒരൽപ്പകാലംകൂടി, ദുഷ്ടർ ഇല്ലാതെയാകും; നീ അവരെ അന്വേഷിച്ചാലും അവരെ കണ്ടെത്തുകയില്ല.
And yet a little while, and the wicked is no more; yea, thou shalt look well at his place, and he is not.
11 എന്നാൽ സൗമ്യതയുള്ളവർ ഭൂമി അവകാശമാക്കുകയും സമാധാനം, അഭിവൃദ്ധി എന്നിവ ആസ്വദിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യും.
But the humble shall inherit the land, and delight themselves in the abundance of peace.
12 ദുഷ്ടർ നീതിനിഷ്ഠർക്കെതിരേ ഗൂഢാലോചന നടത്തുന്നു അവരുടെനേരേ പല്ലുഞെരിക്കുകയുംചെയ്യുന്നു;
The wicked plotteth against the righteous, and gnasheth at him with his teeth.
13 എന്നാൽ കർത്താവ് ദുഷ്ടരെ നോക്കി ചിരിക്കുന്നു, അവരുടെ ദിവസം അടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നെന്ന് അവിടത്തേക്കറിയാം.
The Lord doth laugh at him; for He seeth that his day is coming.
14 ദുഷ്ടർ വാളെടുക്കുകയും വില്ലുകുലയ്ക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു, ദരിദ്രരെയും അശരണരെയും നശിപ്പിക്കുന്നതിനും പരമാർഥതയോടെ ജീവിക്കുന്നവരെ വധിക്കുന്നതിനുംതന്നെ.
The wicked have drawn out the sword, and have bent their bow; to cast down the poor and needy, to slay such as are upright in the way;
15 എന്നാൽ അവരുടെ വാൾ അവരുടെ ഹൃദയത്തെത്തന്നെ കുത്തിത്തുളയ്ക്കും, അവരുടെ വില്ലുകൾ തകർന്നുപോകും.
Their sword shall enter into their own heart, and their bows shall be broken.
16 ഒട്ടനവധി ദുഷ്ടരുടെ സമൃദ്ധിയെക്കാൾ നീതിനിഷ്ഠരുടെ പക്കലുള്ള അൽപ്പം ഏറെ നല്ലത്;
Better is a little that the righteous hath than the abundance of many wicked.
17 കാരണം ദുഷ്ടരുടെ ശക്തി തകർക്കപ്പെടും, എന്നാൽ യഹോവ നീതിനിഷ്ഠരെ ഉദ്ധരിക്കും.
For the arms of the wicked shall be broken; but the LORD upholdeth the righteous.
18 നിഷ്കളങ്കരുടെ ദിനങ്ങൾ യഹോവ അറിയുന്നു, അവരുടെ ഓഹരി ശാശ്വതമായി നിലനിൽക്കും.
The LORD knoweth the days of them that are wholehearted; and their inheritance shall be for ever.
19 കഷ്ടകാലത്ത് അവർ വാടിപ്പോകുകയില്ല; ക്ഷാമകാലത്ത് അവർ സമൃദ്ധി അനുഭവിക്കും.
They shall not be ashamed in the time of evil; and in the days of famine they shall be satisfied.
20 എന്നാൽ ദുഷ്ടർ നശിച്ചുപോകും: യഹോവയുടെ ശത്രുക്കൾ വയലിലെ പൂക്കൾപോലെയാകുന്നു, അവർ മാഞ്ഞുപോകും, പുകയായി അവർ ഉയർന്നുപോകും.
For the wicked shall perish, and the enemies of the LORD shall be as the fat of lambs — they shall pass away in smoke, they shall pass away.
21 ദുഷ്ടർ വായ്പവാങ്ങുന്നു, ഒരിക്കലും തിരികെ നൽകുന്നില്ല, എന്നാൽ നീതിനിഷ്ഠർ ഉദാരപൂർവം ദാനംചെയ്യുന്നു;
The wicked borroweth, and payeth not; but the righteous dealeth graciously, and giveth.
22 യഹോവയാൽ അനുഗൃഹീതർ ദേശം അവകാശമാക്കും, എന്നാൽ അവിടന്ന് ശപിക്കുന്നവർ ഛേദിക്കപ്പെടും.
For such as are blessed of Him shall inherit the land; and they that are cursed of Him shall be cut off.
23 യഹോവയിൽ ആനന്ദിക്കുന്നവരുടെ ചുവടുകൾ അവിടന്ന് സുസ്ഥിരമാക്കുന്നു;
It is of the LORD that a man's goings are established; and He delighted in his way.
24 അവരുടെ കാൽ വഴുതിയാലും അവർ വീണുപോകുകയില്ല, കാരണം യഹോവ അവരെ തന്റെ കൈകൊണ്ടു താങ്ങിനിർത്തുന്നു.
Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down; for the LORD upholdeth his hand.
25 ഞാൻ യുവാവായിരുന്നു, ഇപ്പോൾ വൃദ്ധനായിരിക്കുന്നു; എന്നിട്ടും നാളിതുവരെ നീതിനിഷ്ഠർ പരിത്യജിക്കപ്പെടുന്നതോ അവരുടെ മക്കൾ ആഹാരം ഇരക്കുന്നതോ ഞാൻ കണ്ടിട്ടില്ല.
I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.
26 അവർ എപ്പോഴും ഉദാരമനസ്കരും വായ്പനൽകുന്നവരുമാണ്, അവരുടെ മക്കൾ അനുഗൃഹീതരായിത്തീരും.
All the day long he dealeth graciously, and lendeth; and his seed is blessed.
27 തിന്മയിൽനിന്നു പിന്തിരിഞ്ഞ് സൽപ്രവൃത്തികൾ ചെയ്യുക, അപ്പോൾ നീ ദേശത്ത് ചിരകാലം വസിക്കും.
Depart from evil, and do good; and dwell for evermore.
28 കാരണം യഹോവ നീതിയെ സ്നേഹിക്കുന്നു അവിടന്ന് തന്റെ വിശ്വസ്തരെ ഉപേക്ഷിക്കുകയില്ല. അവർ എന്നെന്നേക്കും സംരക്ഷിക്കപ്പെടും; എന്നാൽ ദുഷ്ടരുടെ മക്കൾ നശിച്ചുപോകും.
For the LORD loveth justice, and forsaketh not His saints; they are preserved for ever; but the seed of the wicked shall be cut off.
29 നീതിനിഷ്ഠർ ഭൂമി അവകാശമാക്കുകയും ചിരകാലം അവിടെ താമസിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യും.
The righteous shall inherit the land, and dwell therein for ever.
30 നീതിനിഷ്ഠരുടെ അധരങ്ങളിൽനിന്നു ജ്ഞാനം പൊഴിയുന്നു, അവരുടെ നാവിൽനിന്നു നീതി പുറപ്പെടുന്നു.
The mouth of the righteous uttereth wisdom, and his tongue speaketh justice.
31 അവരുടെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ന്യായപ്രമാണം അവരുടെ ഹൃദയങ്ങളിലുണ്ട്; അവരുടെ കാലടികൾ വഴുതിപ്പോകുകയില്ല.
The law of his God is in his heart; none of his steps slide.
32 നീതിനിഷ്ഠരുടെ ജീവൻ അപഹരിക്കാൻ ആഗ്രഹിച്ചുകൊണ്ട്, ദുഷ്ടർ അവർക്കായി പതിയിരിക്കുന്നു.
The wicked watcheth the righteous, and seeketh to slay him.
33 എന്നാൽ യഹോവ അവരെ അവരുടെ ഇഷ്ടത്തിന് ഏൽപ്പിച്ചുകൊടുക്കുകയോ ന്യായവിസ്താരത്തിൽ ശിക്ഷിക്കപ്പെടാൻ അനുവദിക്കുകയോ ചെയ്യുകയില്ല.
The LORD will not leave him in his hand, nor suffer him to be condemned when he is judged.
34 യഹോവയിൽ പ്രത്യാശയർപ്പിക്കുക അവിടത്തെ മാർഗം പിൻതുടരുക. അവിടന്നു നിങ്ങളെ ഭൂമിയുടെ അവകാശിയായി ഉയർത്തും; ദുഷ്ടർ ഛേദിക്കപ്പെടുന്നത് നിങ്ങൾ കാണുകയും ചെയ്യും.
Wait for the LORD, and keep His way, and He will exalt thee to inherit the land; when the wicked are cut off, thou shalt see it.
35 സ്വദേശത്തെ വൃക്ഷംപോലെ ദുഷ്ടരും അനുകമ്പയില്ലാത്തവരും തഴച്ചുവളരുന്നതു ഞാൻ കണ്ടിട്ടുണ്ട്,
I have seen the wicked in great power, and spreading himself like a leafy tree in its native soil.
36 എന്നാൽ അവർ വളരെപ്പെട്ടെന്ന് മാറ്റപ്പെടുന്നു, അതിന്റെ സ്ഥാനത്ത് ഒന്നും ശേഷിക്കുകയില്ല; ഞാൻ അവരെ അന്വേഷിച്ചു, കണ്ടെത്താൻ കഴിഞ്ഞതുമില്ല.
But one passed by, and, lo, he was not; yea, I sought him, but he could not be found.
37 സത്യസന്ധരെ നിരീക്ഷിക്കുക, പരമാർഥതയുള്ളവരെ ശ്രദ്ധിക്കുക; സമാധാനം അന്വേഷിക്കുന്നവർക്ക് സന്തതിപരമ്പരകൾ ഉണ്ടാകും.
Mark the man of integrity, and behold the upright; for there is a future for the man of peace.
38 എന്നാൽ പാപികൾ എല്ലാവരും നശിപ്പിക്കപ്പെടും; ദുഷ്ടർ സന്തതിയില്ലാതെ സമൂലം ഛേദിക്കപ്പെടും.
But transgressors shall be destroyed together; the future of the wicked shall be cut off.
39 നീതിനിഷ്ഠരുടെ രക്ഷ യഹോവയിൽനിന്നു വരുന്നു; ദുർഘടസമയത്ത് അവിടന്ന് അവർക്ക് ഉറപ്പുള്ളകോട്ട.
But the salvation of the righteous is of the LORD; He is their stronghold in the time of trouble.
40 യഹോവ അവരെ സഹായിക്കുകയും വിടുവിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു; അവർ യഹോവയിൽ അഭയംതേടുന്നതിനാൽ അവിടന്ന് അവരെ ദുഷ്ടരിൽനിന്നു വിടുവിക്കുകയും രക്ഷിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു.
And the LORD helpeth them, and delivereth them; He delivereth them from the wicked, and saveth them, because they have taken refuge in Him.
