സങ്കീർത്തനങ്ങൾ 23

1 ദാവീദിന്റെ ഒരു സങ്കീർത്തനം. യഹോവ എന്റെ ഇടയൻ ആകുന്നു, എനിക്ക് ഒന്നിനും കുറവുണ്ടാകുകയില്ല.

A Psalm of David. The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.

2 പച്ചപ്പുൽമേടുകളിൽ അവിടന്ന് എന്നെ കിടത്തുന്നു, പ്രശാന്തമായ ജലാശയങ്ങളിലേക്ക് അവിടന്ന് എന്നെ നയിക്കുന്നു,

He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.

3 എന്റെ പ്രാണന് അവിടന്ന് നവജീവൻ പകരുന്നു. തിരുനാമംനിമിത്തം എന്നെ നീതിപാതകളിൽ നടത്തുന്നു.

He restoreth my soul: he guideth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.

4 മരണനിഴലിൻ താഴ്വരയിൽക്കൂടി ഞാൻ സഞ്ചരിച്ചെന്നാലും, ഒരു അനർഥവും ഞാൻ ഭയപ്പെടുകയില്ല, എന്നോടൊപ്പം അവിടന്നുണ്ടല്ലോ; അവിടത്തെ വടിയും കോലും എന്നെ ആശ്വസിപ്പിക്കുന്നു.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for thou art with me: thy rod and thy staff, they comfort me.

5 എന്റെ ശത്രുക്കളുടെമുമ്പിൽ, അങ്ങ് എനിക്കൊരു വിരുന്നൊരുക്കുന്നു. എന്റെ ശിരസ്സിൽ അവിടന്ന് തൈലാഭിഷേകം നടത്തുന്നു; എന്റെ പാനപാത്രം കവിഞ്ഞൊഴുകുന്നു.

Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou hast anointed my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

6 എന്റെ ആയുഷ്കാലമെല്ലാം നന്മയും കരുണയും എന്നെ പിൻതുടരും, നിശ്ചയം, ഞാൻ യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിൽ നിത്യം വസിക്കും.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.
