സങ്കീർത്തനങ്ങൾ 2

1 രാഷ്ട്രങ്ങൾ ഗൂഢാലോചന നടത്തുന്നതും ജനതകൾ വ്യർഥപദ്ധതികൾ ആവിഷ്കരിക്കുന്നതും എന്തിന്?

Wherefore have nations assembled in tumult? Or should, peoples, mutter an empty thing?

2 യഹോവയ്ക്കും അവിടത്തെ അഭിഷിക്തനും വിരോധമായി ഭൂമിയിലെ രാജാക്കന്മാർ എഴുന്നേൽക്കുകയും ഭരണാധിപന്മാർ ഒന്നിച്ചണിനിരക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു.

The kings of earth take their station, and, grave men, have met by appointment together, —against Yahweh, and against his Anointed One [saying]:

3 “നമുക്ക് അവരുടെ ചങ്ങലകൾ പൊട്ടിക്കാം അവരുടെ വിലങ്ങുകൾ എറിഞ്ഞുകളയാം!” എന്ന് അവർ പറയുന്നു.

Let us break asunder their bonds, —and cast from us their cords!

4 സ്വർഗത്തിൽ ഉപവിഷ്ടനായിരിക്കുന്നവൻ ചിരിക്കുന്നു; കർത്താവ് അവരെ പരിഹസിക്കുന്നു.

He that sitteth in the heavens, will laugh, —My Lord, will mock at them:

5 തന്റെ കോപത്തിൽ അവിടന്ന് അവരെ ശാസിക്കുകയും തന്റെ ക്രോധത്താൽ അവിടന്ന് അവരെ പരിഭ്രാന്തരാക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു.

Then, will he speak unto them in his anger, and, in his wrath, confound them:

6 “ഞാൻ എന്റെ രാജാവിനെ വാഴിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു, സീയോനിൽ എന്റെ വിശുദ്ധപർവതത്തിൽത്തന്നെ,” എന്നു കർത്താവ് അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു.

Yet, I, have installed my king, —on Zion my holy mountain.

7 യഹോവയുടെ ഉത്തരവുകൾ ഞാൻ പുറപ്പെടുവിക്കുന്നു: അവിടന്ന് എന്നോട് കൽപ്പിച്ചു, “നീ എന്റെ പുത്രനാകുന്നു; ഇന്നു ഞാൻ നിന്റെ പിതാവായിരിക്കുന്നു.

Let me tell of a decree, —Yahweh, hath said unto me, My son, thou art, I, to-day, have begotten thee:

8 എന്നോടു ചോദിച്ചുകൊള്ളുക, ഞാൻ രാഷ്ട്രങ്ങൾ നിനക്കു പൈതൃകാവകാശമായും ഭൂമിയുടെ അതിരുകൾ നിനക്ക് അധീനമായും നൽകും.

Ask of me, and let me give nations as thine inheritance, and, as thy possession, the ends of the earth:

9 ഇരുമ്പുകോൽകൊണ്ട് നീ അവരെ തകർക്കും; കളിമൺ പാത്രക്കഷണങ്ങൾപോലെ നീ അവരെ ഛിന്നഭിന്നമാക്കും.”

Thou shalt shepherd them with a sceptre of iron, —as a potter’s vessel, shalt thou dash them in pieces.

10 അതുകൊണ്ട് രാജാക്കന്മാരേ, വിവേകികളാകുക; ഭൂമിയിലെ ഭരണാധിപരേ, ബുദ്ധിപഠിക്കുക.

Now, therefore, ye kings, show your prudence, Be admonished, ye judges of earth:

11 ഭയഭക്തിയോടെ യഹോവയെ സേവിക്കുകയും വിറയലോടെ ആനന്ദിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുക.

Serve Yahweh with reverence, and exult with trembling:

12 അവിടന്നു കോപാകുലനായി, മാർഗമധ്യേ നിങ്ങൾ നശിച്ചുപോകാതിരിക്കാൻ പുത്രനെ ചുംബിക്കുക, കാരണം അവിടത്തെ ക്രോധം ക്ഷണത്തിൽ ജ്വലിക്കും അവിടത്തെ സന്നിധിയിൽ അഭയംപ്രാപിക്കുന്നവരെല്ലാം അനുഗൃഹീതർ.

Kiss the son, lest he be angry, and ye perish by the way, for soon might be kindled his anger, —How happy are all who seek refuge in him!
