1 ദാവീദിന്റെ ആരോഹണഗീതം. “നമുക്കു യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിലേക്കു പോകാം,” എന്ന് അവർ എന്നോടു പറഞ്ഞപ്പോൾ ഞാൻ ആനന്ദിച്ചു.

A Song of the going up. Of David. I was glad because they said to me, We will go into the house of the Lord.

2 ജെറുശലേമേ, ഞങ്ങളുടെ കാലുകൾ നിന്റെ കവാടങ്ങൾക്കുള്ളിൽ നിൽക്കുന്നു.

At last our feet were inside your doors, O Jerusalem.

3 ഉറപ്പോടെ നിർമിക്കപ്പെട്ട ഒരു പട്ടണമാണ് ജെറുശലേം; അതു നല്ല സാന്ദ്രതയോടെ ചേർത്തിണക്കി പണിതിരിക്കുന്നു.

O Jerusalem, you are like a town which is well joined together;

4 അവിടെ ഗോത്രങ്ങൾ കയറിച്ചെല്ലുന്നു— യഹോവയുടെ ഗോത്രങ്ങൾ— ഇസ്രായേലിനു നൽകിയ നിയമത്തിനനുസൃതമായി യഹോവയുടെ നാമത്തിനു സ്തോത്രം അർപ്പിക്കാൻതന്നെ.

To which the tribes went up, even the tribes of the Lord, for a witness to Israel, to give praise to the name of the Lord.

5 അവിടെ ന്യായപാലനത്തിന് സിംഹാസനങ്ങൾ സ്ഥാപിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; ദാവീദുഗൃഹത്തിന്റെ സിംഹാസനങ്ങൾതന്നെ.

For there seats for the judges were placed, even the rulers' seats of the line of David.

6 ജെറുശലേമിന്റെ സമാധാനത്തിനായി പ്രാർഥിക്കുക: “ഈ പട്ടണത്തെ സ്നേഹിക്കുന്നവർ സുരക്ഷിതരായിരിക്കട്ടെ.

O make prayers for the peace of Jerusalem; may they whose love is given to you do well.

7 നിന്റെ കോട്ടകൾക്കുള്ളിൽ സമാധാനവും അരമനകൾക്കുള്ളിൽ ഐശ്വര്യവും കുടികൊള്ളട്ടെ.”

May peace be inside your walls, and wealth in your noble houses.

8 എന്റെ സഹോദരങ്ങൾക്കും സ്നേഹിതർക്കുംവേണ്ടി, “നിന്നിൽ സമാധാനം ഉണ്ടാകട്ടെ,” എന്നു ഞാൻ പറയും.

Because of my brothers and friends, I will now say, Let peace be with you.

9 നമ്മുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിനുവേണ്ടി ഞാൻ നിന്റെ അഭിവൃദ്ധി ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നു.

Because of the house of the Lord our God, I will be working for your good.
