സങ്കീർത്തനങ്ങൾ 114

1 ഇസ്രായേൽ ഈജിപ്റ്റിൽനിന്നും യാക്കോബുഗൃഹം വിദേശഭാഷ സംസാരിക്കുന്ന ജനമധ്യത്തിൽനിന്നും പുറപ്പെട്ടപ്പോൾ,

When Israel went out of Egypt, the house of Jacob from a people of strange language;

2 യെഹൂദാ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ വിശുദ്ധമന്ദിരവും ഇസ്രായേൽ അവിടത്തെ ആധിപത്യവും ആയിത്തീർന്നു.

Judah was his sanctuary, and Israel his dominion.

3 ചെങ്കടൽ അവർ വരുന്നതുകണ്ട് ഓടിപ്പോയി, യോർദാൻനദി പിൻവാങ്ങി;

The sea saw it, and fled: Jordan was driven back.

4 പർവതങ്ങൾ മുട്ടാടുകളെപ്പോലെയും മലകൾ കുഞ്ഞാടുകളെപ്പോലെയും തുള്ളിച്ചാടി.

The mountains skipped like rams, and the little hills like lambs.

5 സമുദ്രമേ, നീ ഓടുന്നതെന്തിന്? യോർദാനേ, നീ പിൻവാങ്ങുന്നതെന്തിന്?

What ailed you, O you sea, that you fled? you Jordan, that you were driven back?

6 പർവതങ്ങളേ, നിങ്ങൾ മുട്ടാടുകളെപ്പോലെയും മലകളേ, നിങ്ങൾ കുഞ്ഞാടുകളെപ്പോലെയും തുള്ളിച്ചാടുന്നതെന്തിന്?

All of you mountains, that all of you skipped like rams; and all of you little hills, like lambs?

7 ഭൂമിയേ, കർത്താവിന്റെ സന്നിധിയിൽ, യാക്കോബിന്റെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ സന്നിധിയിൽത്തന്നെ വിറയ്ക്കുക,

Tremble, you earth, at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob;

8 അവിടന്ന് പാറയെ ജലാശയവും തീക്കൽപ്പാറയെ നീരുറവയും ആക്കിത്തീർത്തു.

Which turned the rock into a standing water, the flint into a fountain of waters.
