സദൃശവാക്യങ്ങൾ 9
1 ജ്ഞാനം അവൾക്കുവേണ്ടി വീട് പണിതു; ചെത്തിമിനുക്കിയ ഏഴു സ്തംഭങ്ങൾ സ്ഥാപിച്ചു.
Wisdom has built her house; she has carved out her seven pillars.
2 അവൾ മാംസഭക്ഷണം പാകംചെയ്തു വീഞ്ഞ് തയ്യാറാക്കി; അവളുടെ തീന്മേശയും ഒരുക്കിവെച്ചു.
She has prepared her meat and mixed her wine; she has also set her table.
3 അവൾ തന്റെ തോഴിമാരെ നിയോഗിച്ചു, നഗരത്തിന്റെ ഉന്നതസ്ഥാനങ്ങളിൽ വിളംബരം ചെയ്യുന്നതിനുവേണ്ടി,
She has sent out her maidservants; she calls out from the heights of the city.
4 “ലളിതമാനസരേ, എന്റെ ഭവനത്തിലേക്കു വരിക!” ബുദ്ധിഹീനരോട് അവൾ അറിയിക്കുന്നു,
“Whoever is simple, let him turn in here!” she says to him who lacks judgment.
5 “വരിക, എന്റെ ഭക്ഷണം ആസ്വദിക്കുക, ഞാൻ കലർത്തിവെച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന വീഞ്ഞ് പാനംചെയ്യുക.
“Come, eat my bread and drink the wine I have mixed.
6 നിങ്ങളുടെ ഭോഷത്തം ഉപേക്ഷിച്ച് ജീവിക്കുക; വിവേകപൂർണമായ മാർഗത്തിൽ സഞ്ചരിക്കുക.”
Leave your folly behind, and you will live; walk in the way of understanding.”
7 പരിഹാസിയെ തിരുത്തുന്നവർക്ക് അധിക്ഷേപം പകരമായിലഭിക്കുന്നു; ദുഷ്ടരെ ശകാരിക്കുന്നവർ അവഹേളനപാത്രമാകും.
He who corrects a mocker brings shame on himself; he who rebukes a wicked man taints himself.
8 പരിഹാസികളെ ശാസിക്കരുത്, അവർ നിന്നെ വെറുക്കും; ജ്ഞാനികളെ ശാസിക്കുക, അവർ നിന്നെ സ്നേഹിക്കും.
Do not rebuke a mocker, or he will hate you; rebuke a wise man, and he will love you.
9 ജ്ഞാനികളെ ഉപദേശിക്കുക, അവർ അധികം ജ്ഞാനമുള്ളവരായിത്തീരും; നീതിനിഷ്ഠരെ അഭ്യസിപ്പിക്കുക, അവർ വിദ്യാഭിവൃത്തി പ്രാപിക്കും.
Instruct a wise man, and he will be wiser still; teach a righteous man, and he will increase his learning.
10 യഹോവാഭക്തി ജ്ഞാനത്തിന്റെ ഉറവിടമാകുന്നു, പരിശുദ്ധനെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള പരിജ്ഞാനം വിവേകമാകുന്നു.
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.
11 ജ്ഞാനംമൂലം നിന്റെ ദിനങ്ങൾ നിരവധിയായിരിക്കും, നിനക്കു ദീർഘായുസ്സുണ്ടാകുകയും ചെയ്യും.
For through wisdom your days will be multiplied, and years will be added to your life.
12 നീ ജ്ഞാനമുള്ള വ്യക്തിയെങ്കിൽ, നിന്റെ ജ്ഞാനം നിനക്കു പ്രതിഫലംനൽകും; നീ പരിഹാസിയാണെങ്കിൽ, അതിന്റെ അനന്തരഫലം നീമാത്രം അനുഭവിക്കും.
If you are wise, you are wise to your own advantage; but if you scoff, you alone will bear the consequences.
13 ഭോഷത്തം അടക്കമില്ലാത്ത ഒരു സ്ത്രീയാണ്; അവൾ ഭോഷയും വിവരംകെട്ടവളുമാണ്.
The woman named Folly is loud; she is naive and knows nothing.
14 അവൾ തന്റെ ഗൃഹകവാടത്തിൽ ഇരിക്കുന്നു, നഗരത്തിലെ ഉന്നതസ്ഥാനത്തുള്ള ഒരു പീഠത്തിൽത്തന്നെ,
She sits at the door of her house, on a seat in the heights of the city,
15 സ്വന്തംകാര്യം അന്വേഷിച്ചു പോകുന്ന പുരുഷന്മാരോട്, അവൾ വിളിച്ചുപറയുന്നു,
calling out to those who pass by, who make their paths straight.
16 “ലളിതമാനസരേ, എന്നോടൊപ്പം വരിക!” വിവേകരഹിതരോടവൾ ചൊല്ലുന്നു,
“Whoever is simple, let him turn in here!” she says to him who lacks judgment.
17 “അപഹരിക്കപ്പെട്ട ജലം മധുരതരം; ഒളിവിൽ ഭുജിക്കുന്ന ഭക്ഷണം അതിരുചികരം!”
“Stolen water is sweet, and bread eaten in secret is tasty!”
