സദൃശവാക്യങ്ങൾ 5

1 എന്റെ കുഞ്ഞേ, എന്റെ ജ്ഞാനം ശ്രദ്ധിക്കുക, ഉൾക്കാഴ്ചനിറഞ്ഞ എന്റെ സൂക്തങ്ങൾക്കു ചെവിചായ്‌ക്കുക,

My son, attend unto my wisdom; incline thine ear to my understanding;

2 അങ്ങനെ നീ വിവേചനശക്തി നിലനിർത്തുകയും നിന്റെ അധരങ്ങൾ പരിജ്ഞാനം പ്രസ്താവിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യട്ടെ.

That thou mayest preserve discretion, and that thy lips may keep knowledge.

3 വ്യഭിചാരിണിയുടെ അധരങ്ങൾ തേൻ പൊഴിക്കുന്നു, അവളുടെ ഭാഷണം എണ്ണയെക്കാൾ മൃദുവാകുന്നു;

For the lips of a strange woman drop honey, and her mouth is smoother than oil;

4 എന്നാൽ ഒടുവിൽ അവൾ കാഞ്ഞിരംപോലെ കയ്‌പുള്ളവളും ഇരുവായ്ത്തലയുള്ള വാളുപോലെ മൂർച്ചയുള്ളവളും ആയിത്തീരുന്നു.

But her end is bitter as wormwood, sharp as a two-edged sword.

5 അവളുടെ കാലടികൾ പാതാളത്തിലേക്ക് ഇറങ്ങിപ്പോകുന്നു; അവളുടെ ചുവടുകൾ നേരേ പാതാളത്തിലേക്കു നയിക്കുന്നു. (Sheol h7585)

Her feet go down to death; her steps take hold on the nether-world; (Sheol h7585)

6 ജീവന്റെ വഴി അവൾ ചിന്തിക്കുന്നതേയില്ല; അവളുടെ പാത ലക്ഷ്യമില്ലാതെ അലയുന്നത്, അവൾ അത് അറിയുന്നതുമില്ല.

Lest she should walk the even path of life, her ways wander, but she knoweth it not.

7 അതുകൊണ്ട് എന്റെ കുഞ്ഞുങ്ങളേ, എന്നെ ശ്രദ്ധിക്കുക; എന്റെ മൊഴികളിൽനിന്ന് ഒരിക്കലും വ്യതിചലിക്കരുത്.

Now therefore, O ye children, hearken unto me, and depart not from the words of my mouth.

8 നീ അവളിൽനിന്നും അകന്നിരിക്കുക, അവളുടെ വീട്ടുവാതിലിനോടു നീ സമീപിക്കരുത്,

Remove thy way far from her, and come not nigh the door of her house;

9 നിന്റെ ഊർജസ്വലത മറ്റുള്ളവർക്കായി നഷ്ടപ്പെടുത്താതിരിക്കുക നിന്റെ കുലീനത ക്രൂരരായവർക്ക് അടിയറവുവെക്കരുത്,

Lest thou give thy vigour unto others, and thy years unto the cruel;

10 അന്യർ നിന്റെ സമ്പത്തുകൊണ്ട് ആഘോഷിക്കുകയും നിന്റെ കഠിനാധ്വാനം അന്യഭവനത്തെ സമ്പന്നമാക്കുകയും ചെയ്യാതിരിക്കട്ടെ.

Lest strangers be filled with thy strength, and thy labours be in the house of an alien;

11 നിന്റെ ജീവിതാന്ത്യത്തിൽ നീ ഞരങ്ങും, നിന്റെ മാംസവും ശരീരവും ക്ഷയിക്കുമ്പോൾത്തന്നെ.

And thou moan, when thine end cometh, when thy flesh and thy body are consumed,

12 അപ്പോൾ നീ പറയും, “ശിക്ഷണത്തെ ഞാൻ എത്രമാത്രം വെറുത്തു! എന്റെ ഹൃദയം ശാസനയെ എങ്ങനെയെല്ലാം തിരസ്കരിച്ചു!

And say: 'How have I hated instruction, and my heart despised reproof;

13 ഞാൻ എന്റെ ഗുരുക്കന്മാരെ അനുസരിച്ചില്ല എന്റെ പ്രബോധകരെ ശ്രദ്ധിച്ചതുമില്ല.

Neither have I hearkened to the voice of my teachers, nor inclined mine ear to them that instructed me!

14 ദൈവജനത്തിന്റെ സഭാമധ്യേ ഞാൻ സമ്പൂർണ നാശത്തിന്റെ വക്കിൽ എത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു.”

I was well nigh in all evil in the midst of the congregation and assembly.'

15 നിന്റെ സ്വന്തം ജലസംഭരണിയിൽനിന്ന് പാനംചെയ്യുക, നിന്റെ കിണറ്റിൽനിന്നുള്ള വെള്ളംമാത്രം കുടിക്കുക.

Drink waters out of thine own cistern, and running waters out of thine own well.

16 നിന്റെ നീരുറവകൾ തെരുവോരങ്ങളിലേക്കു കവിഞ്ഞൊഴുകണമോ, നിന്റെ അരുവികൾ ചത്വരങ്ങളിലേക്ക് ഒഴുക്കണമോ?

Let thy springs be dispersed abroad, and courses of water in the streets.

17 അതു നിന്റേതുമാത്രമായിരിക്കട്ടെ, ഒരിക്കലും അത് അന്യരുമായി പങ്കിടാനുള്ളതല്ല.

Let them be only thine own, and not strangers' with thee.

18 നിന്റെ ജലധാര അനുഗൃഹീതമാകട്ടെ, നിന്റെ യൗവനത്തിലെ ധർമപത്നിയുമൊത്ത് ആനന്ദിക്കുക.

Let thy fountain be blessed; and have joy of the wife of thy youth.

19 അവൾ അനുരാഗിയായ മാൻപേട, അതേ അഴകാർന്ന മാനിനും തുല്യം— അവളുടെ മാറിടം എപ്പോഴും നിന്നെ തൃപ്തനാക്കട്ടെ, അവളുടെ പ്രേമത്താൽ നീ എപ്പോഴും ലഹരിപിടിച്ചവനായിരിക്കട്ടെ.

A lovely hind and a graceful doe, let her breasts satisfy thee at all times; with her love be thou ravished always.

20 എന്റെ കുഞ്ഞേ, അന്യപുരുഷന്റെ ഭാര്യയെക്കണ്ടു നീ ഉന്മത്തനായിത്തീരുന്നത് എന്തിന്? ലൈംഗികധാർമികതയില്ലാത്തവളുടെ മാറിടം പുണരുന്നതും എന്തിന്?

Why then wilt thou, my son, be ravished with a strange woman, and embrace the bosom of an alien?

21 ഒരു മനുഷ്യന്റെ പ്രവൃത്തികളെല്ലാം യഹോവയുടെ സൂക്ഷ്മനിരീക്ഷണത്തിലാണ്, അവരുടെ വഴികളെല്ലാം അവിടന്നു പരിശോധിക്കുന്നു.

For the ways of man are before the eyes of the LORD, and He maketh even all his paths.

22 ദുഷ്ടരുടെ അപരാധങ്ങളെല്ലാം അവരെ കെണിയിൽപ്പെടുത്തുന്നു; അവരുടെ പാപച്ചരടുകൾതന്നെ അവരെ ബന്ധനസ്ഥരാക്കുന്നു.

His own iniquities shall ensnare the wicked, and he shall be holden with the cords of his sin.

23 സ്വയനിയന്ത്രണമില്ലായ്കയാൽ അവർ മൃതിയടയുന്നു, മഹാഭോഷത്തത്താൽ അവർ വഴിപിഴച്ചുപോകുന്നു.

He shall die for lack of instruction; and in the greatness of his folly he shall reel.
