സദൃശവാക്യങ്ങൾ 28
1 ആരും ഓടിക്കാനില്ലാതെതന്നെ ദുഷ്ടർ ഓടിപ്പോകുന്നു, എന്നാൽ നീതിനിഷ്ഠർ ഒരു സിംഹത്തെപ്പോലെ ധൈര്യസമേതം നിലകൊള്ളുന്നു.
The wicked flee when no one pursues; but the upright are as bold as a lion.
2 ഒരു രാജ്യം കലഹപൂർണമാകുമ്പോൾ നിരവധി പ്രഭുക്കന്മാർ ഉണ്ടാകുന്നു, എന്നാൽ വിവേകവും പരിജ്ഞാനവുമുള്ള ഭരണാധികാരി സുസ്ഥിരഭരണം കാഴ്ചവെക്കുന്നു.
In rebellious breach of relationship, a land has many rulers, but order is maintained by a man of understanding and knowledge.
3 അഗതികളെ പീഡിപ്പിക്കുന്ന ദരിദ്രർ വിളയൊന്നുംതന്നെ ശേഷിപ്പിക്കാതെ നശിപ്പിക്കുന്ന പേമാരിപോലെയാണ്.
A needy man who oppresses the poor is like a driving rain which leaves no crops.
4 നിയമം ഉപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നവർ ദുഷ്ടരെ പുകഴ്ത്തുന്നു, എന്നാൽ നിയമം അനുസരിക്കുന്നവർ ദുഷ്ടരോട് എതിർക്കുന്നു.
Those who forsake the Torah ·Teaching· praise the wicked; but those who keep the Torah ·Teaching· contend with them.
5 ദുഷ്ടർ നീതി എന്തെന്നു തിരിച്ചറിയുന്നില്ല, എന്നാൽ യഹോവയെ അന്വേഷിക്കുന്നവരെല്ലാം അതു സമ്പൂർണമായി മനസ്സിലാക്കുന്നു.
Evil men don’t understand mishpat ·justice·; but those who seek Adonai understand it fully.
6 വഴിപിഴച്ച ധനികരെക്കാൾ സത്യസന്ധരായി ജീവിക്കുന്ന ദരിദ്രരാണ് ശ്രേഷ്ഠം.
Better is the poor who walks in his integrity, than he who is perverse in his ways, and he is rich.
7 വിവേകമുള്ള സന്തതി നിയമം പാലിക്കുന്നു, എന്നാൽ അമിതഭക്ഷണപ്രിയരുടെ സഹചാരി തന്റെ പിതാവിന് അപമാനം.
Whoever keeps the Torah ·Teaching· is a wise son; but he who is a companion of gluttons shames his father.
8 ഉയർന്ന പലിശയിലൂടെ ദരിദ്രരിൽനിന്നു ലാഭംകൊയ്യുന്നവരുടെ ധനം ദരിദ്രരോടു ദയാലുക്കളായവർക്കുവേണ്ടി ശേഖരിക്കപ്പെടുന്നു.
He who increases his wealth by excessive interest gathers it for one who has pity on the poor.
9 ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തിനെതിരേ ചെവി കൊട്ടിയടയ്ക്കുന്നവരുടെ പ്രാർഥനകൾപോലും അറപ്പുളവാക്കുന്നതാണ്.
He who turns away his ear from sh'ma ·hearing obeying· the Torah ·Teaching·, even his prayer is an abomination.
10 നീതിനിഷ്ഠരെ ദുർമാർഗത്തിലേക്കു നയിക്കുന്നവർ അവർ ഒരുക്കിവെച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന കെണിയിൽത്തന്നെ വീഴും എന്നാൽ നിഷ്കളങ്കർക്കു നല്ല പൈതൃകസമ്പത്തു ലഭിക്കും.
Whoever causes the upright to be led astray, intoxicated, unintentional sin ·error· in an evil way, he will fall into his own trap; but the blameless will inherit good.
11 താനൊരു ജ്ഞാനിയാണെന്ന് സമ്പന്നർ സ്വയം കരുതുന്നു; സമ്പന്നർ എത്ര മിഥ്യാബോധത്തിലാണെന്ന് വിവേകിയായ ദരിദ്രർ കണ്ടെത്തുന്നു.
The rich man is wise in his own eyes; but the poor who has understanding sees through him.
12 നീതിനിഷ്ഠർ വിജയംകൊയ്യുമ്പോൾ മഹോത്സവം; എന്നാൽ നീചർ അധികാരത്തിലേറുമ്പോൾ ജനം ഓടിയൊളിക്കുന്നു.
When the upright triumph, there is great glory; but when the wicked rise, men hide themselves.
13 തങ്ങളുടെ പാപങ്ങൾ മറച്ചുവെക്കുന്നവർക്ക് അഭിവൃദ്ധിയുണ്ടാകുകയില്ല, എന്നാൽ അവ ഏറ്റുപറഞ്ഞ് ഉപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നവർക്ക് കരുണ ലഭിക്കും.
He who conceals his rebellious breaches of relationships does not prosper, but whoever yadah ·extend hands in confession· and forsake renounces them finds racham ·merciful love·.
14 എപ്പോഴും ഭയഭക്തിയോടെ കഴിയുന്ന മനുഷ്യർ അനുഗൃഹീതർ, എന്നാൽ ഹൃദയം കഠിനമാക്കുന്നവർ ആപത്തിലകപ്പെടും.
Blessed is the man who always fears; but one who hardens his heart falls into trouble.
15 നിസ്സഹായരായവരുടെമേൽ ആധിപത്യം പുലർത്തുന്ന ദുഷ്ടർ അലറുന്ന സിംഹത്തെപ്പോലെയും ആക്രമണത്തിനു മുതിരുന്ന കരടിയെപ്പോലെയും.
As a roaring lion or a charging bear, so is a wicked ruler over helpless people.
16 സ്വേച്ഛാധിപതിയായ ഭരണാധികാരി ജനങ്ങളുടെമേൽ അധികഭാരം ചുമത്തുന്നു, എന്നാൽ അനധികൃത ധനസമ്പാദനം വെറുക്കുന്നവർ ദീർഘകാലം ഭരണം നടത്തുന്നു.
A tyrannical ruler lacks judgment. One who hates ill-gotten gain will have long days.
17 കൊലപാതകംചെയ്തതിന്റെ മനോവ്യഥയാൽ പീഡിപ്പിക്കപ്പെടുന്നവർ പാതാളത്തിൽ അഭയംതേടും; ആരും അയാളെ പിന്തിരിപ്പിക്കാതിരിക്കട്ടെ.
A man who is tormented by life-blood will be a fugitive until the pit (of Abbadon, the unrighteous side of Sheol); no one will support him.
18 നിഷ്കളങ്കരായി ജീവിക്കുന്നവർ സുരക്ഷിതരായിരിക്കും, എന്നാൽ, വഴിപിഴച്ച ജീവിതം നയിക്കുന്നവർ പെട്ടെന്നുതന്നെ നാശത്തിൽ അകപ്പെടും.
Whoever walks blamelessly is kept safe; but one with perverse ways will fall suddenly.
19 സ്വന്തം കൃഷിയിടത്തിൽ അധ്വാനിക്കുന്നവർക്കു ധാരാളം ആഹാരം ലഭിക്കുന്നു, എന്നാൽ ദിവാസ്വപ്നങ്ങളുടെ പിന്നാലെ പായുന്നവർക്കു ദാരിദ്ര്യം കുമിഞ്ഞുകൂടും.
One who works his land will have an abundance of food; but one who chases fantasies will have his fill of poverty.
20 വിശ്വസ്തമനുഷ്യർ സമൃദ്ധമായി അനുഗ്രഹിക്കപ്പെടും, എന്നാൽ സമ്പന്നരാകാൻ തിടുക്കം കാട്ടുന്നവർ ശിക്ഷിക്കപ്പെടാതെ പോകുകയില്ല.
A faithful man is rich with blessings; but one who is eager to be rich will not go unpunished.
21 പക്ഷഭേദം കാണിക്കുന്നത് ഉചിതമല്ല— എന്നാൽ ഒരു കഷണം അപ്പത്തിനുവേണ്ടിപ്പോലും മനുഷ്യർ അനുചിതമായതു ചെയ്യും.
To show partiality is not good; yet a man will rebel to break away from authority thus breaking relationship for a piece of bread.
22 ലുബ്ധർ ധനികരാകാൻ വ്യഗ്രതകാണിക്കുന്നു അവരുടെ മുന്നേറ്റം ദാരിദ്ര്യത്തിലേക്കെന്ന് അറിയുന്നുപോലുമില്ല.
A stingy man hurries after riches, and does not know that poverty waits for him.
23 മുഖസ്തുതി പറയുന്നവരെക്കാൾ ശാസിക്കുന്നവർക്ക് അവസാനം പ്രീതി ലഭിക്കുന്നു.
One who rebukes a man will afterward find more chen ·grace· than one who flatters with the tongue.
24 മാതാപിതാക്കളെ കൊള്ളയടിച്ചിട്ട് “അതിലൊരു തെറ്റുമില്ല,” എന്നു പറയുന്നയാൾ നാശത്തിന്റെ പങ്കാളിയാണ്.
Whoever robs his father or his mother, and says, “It’s not rebellious breach of relationship.” He is a partner with a destroyer.
25 അത്യാഗ്രഹി കലഹം ഇളക്കിവിടുന്നു, എന്നാൽ യഹോവയിൽ ആശ്രയിക്കുന്നവർക്ക് അഭിവൃദ്ധിയുണ്ടാകും.
One who is greedy stirs up strife; but one who trusts in Adonai will prosper.
26 സ്വന്തം വിവേകത്തിൽ ആശ്രയിക്കുന്നവർ ഭോഷരാകുന്നു, എന്നാൽ ജ്ഞാനത്തോടെ ജീവിക്കുന്നവർ സുരക്ഷിതരായിരിക്കും.
One who trusts in himself is a fool; but one who walks in wisdom is kept safe.
27 ദരിദ്രർക്കു ദാനം നൽകുന്നവർക്കു യാതൊരുവിധ ദൗർലഭ്യവും ഉണ്ടാകുന്നില്ല, എന്നാൽ അവർക്കുനേരേ കണ്ണടയ്ക്കുന്നവർക്ക് ശാപവർഷം അനവധിയായി ഉണ്ടാകും.
One who gives to the poor has no lack; but one who closes his eyes will have many curses.
28 നീചർ അധികാരത്തിലേറുമ്പോൾ ജനം ഓടിയൊളിക്കുന്നു; അവരുടെ നാശത്തിൽ നീതിനിഷ്ഠർ പെരുകുന്നു.
When the wicked rise, men hide themselves; but when they perish, the upright thrive.
