സദൃശവാക്യങ്ങൾ 2

1 എന്റെ കുഞ്ഞേ, നീ എന്റെ വചനങ്ങൾ സ്വീകരിച്ച് എന്റെ കൽപ്പനകൾ നിന്റെയുള്ളിൽ സൂക്ഷിച്ചുവെക്കുകയും

My son, if thou wilt receive my words, and lay up my commandments with thee;

2 ജ്ഞാനത്തിനുവേണ്ടി നിന്റെ കാതുകൾ തിരിക്കുകയും വിവേകത്തിനായി ഹൃദയം ശ്രദ്ധയോടെ വെക്കുകയുംചെയ്യുക.

So that thou incline thine ear unto wisdom, and apply thine heart to understanding;

3 ഉൾക്കാഴ്ചയ്ക്കുവേണ്ടി കേണപേക്ഷിക്കുകയും വിവേകത്തിനായി നിലവിളിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുക.

Yea, if thou cry after discernment, and lift up thy voice for understanding;

4 അതിനെ നീ വെള്ളി എന്നതുപോലെ അന്വേഷിക്കുകയും നിഗൂഢനിധി എന്നതുപോലെ തേടുകയും ചെയ്യുക.

If thou seek her as silver, and search for her as for hid treasures;

5 അപ്പോൾ നീ യഹോവയോടുള്ള ഭക്തി എന്തെന്നു ഗ്രഹിക്കുകയും, ദൈവത്തെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള പരിജ്ഞാനം കണ്ടെത്തുകയും ചെയ്യും.

Then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God.

6 കാരണം ജ്ഞാനം പ്രദാനംചെയ്യുന്നത് യഹോവയാണ്; പരിജ്ഞാനവും വിവേകവും ഉത്ഭവിക്കുന്നത് തിരുവായിൽനിന്നാണ്.

For the LORD giveth wisdom; out of his mouth [cometh] knowledge and understanding:

7 പരമാർഥികൾക്ക് അവിടന്ന് വിജയം സംഗ്രഹിച്ചുവെക്കുന്നു, നിഷ്കളങ്കരായി ജീവിക്കുന്നവർക്ക് അവിടന്ന് ഒരു സംരക്ഷണവലയമാണ്,

He layeth up sound wisdom for the upright, [he is] a shield to them that walk in integrity;

8 നീതിനിഷ്ഠരുടെ കാലഗതി അവിടന്നു കാത്തുസൂക്ഷിക്കുകയും തന്റെ വിശ്വസ്തരെ സംരക്ഷിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു.

That he may guard the paths of judgment, and preserve the way of his saints.

9 അങ്ങനെ നീ, നീതിയുക്തവും ന്യായമായതും ഔചിത്യമായതുമായ സകലമാർഗവും ഗ്രഹിക്കും.

Then shalt thou understand righteousness and judgment, and equity, [yea], every good path.

10 കാരണം നിന്റെ ഹൃദയത്തിൽ ജ്ഞാനം ഉദയംചെയ്യും പരിജ്ഞാനം നിന്റെ ആത്മാവിന് ഇമ്പമായിരിക്കും.

For wisdom shall enter into thine heart, and knowledge shall be pleasant unto thy soul;

11 വിവേചനശക്തി നിന്നെ സംരക്ഷിക്കും, വിവേകം നിന്നെ കാത്തുപരിപാലിക്കും.

Discretion shall watch over thee, understanding shall keep thee:

12 ജ്ഞാനം നിന്നെ ദുഷ്ടമനുഷ്യരുടെ വഴികളിൽനിന്നും വഴിപിഴച്ചവരുടെ ഉപദേശത്തിൽനിന്നും രക്ഷിക്കും,

To deliver thee from the way of evil, from the men that speak froward things;

13 ഇരുളടഞ്ഞ വഴികളിൽ സഞ്ചരിക്കേണ്ടതിന് അവർ സത്യത്തിന്റെ മാർഗം വിട്ടുകളയുന്നു,

Who forsake the paths of uprightness, to walk in the ways of darkness;

14 അവർ തിന്മയുടെ വൈകൃതങ്ങളിൽ ആമോദിക്കുകയും ദുഷ്ടതയിൽ ആനന്ദിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു,

Who rejoice to do evil, and delight in the frowardness of evil;

15 അവരുടെ മാർഗം കുടിലതനിറഞ്ഞതാണ് അവരുടെ ആസൂത്രണങ്ങൾ വക്രതനിറഞ്ഞതുമാണ്.

Who are crooked in their ways, and perverse in their paths:

16 ജ്ഞാനം നിന്നെ വ്യഭിചാരിണിയിൽനിന്നും ലൈംഗികധാർമികതയില്ലാത്തവളുടെ പ്രലോഭനഭാഷണങ്ങളിൽനിന്നും രക്ഷിക്കും,

To deliver thee from the strange woman, even from the stranger which flattereth with her words;

17 അവൾ തന്റെ യൗവനകാല ഭർത്താവിനെ ഉപേക്ഷിക്കുകയും ദൈവമുമ്പാകെയുള്ള അവളുടെ ഉടമ്പടി അവഗണിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു.

Which forsaketh the friend of her youth, and forgetteth the covenant of her God:

18 അവളുടെ ഭവനം മരണത്തിലേക്കും അവളുടെ വഴികൾ പരേതാത്മാക്കളുടെ സമീപത്തേക്കും നയിക്കുന്നു.

For her house inclineth unto death, and her paths unto the dead:

19 അവളുടെ സമീപത്തേക്കു പോകുന്ന പുരുഷൻ മടങ്ങിവരുന്നില്ല, ജീവനിലേക്ക് ഒരിക്കലും മടങ്ങിയെത്താൻ അവന് കഴിയുകയില്ല.

None that go unto her return again, neither do they attain unto the paths of life:

20 ആയതിനാൽ, നീ സജ്ജനത്തിന്റെ പാതയിൽ നടക്കുകയും ധർമിഷ്ഠരുടെ വഴികൾ പിൻതുടരുകയുംവേണം.

That thou mayest walk in the way of good men, and keep the paths of the righteous.

21 കാരണം പരമാർഥികൾ ദേശത്ത് വസിക്കും നിഷ്കളങ്കർ അവിടെ സുസ്ഥിരരായിരിക്കും;

For the upright shall dwell in the land, and the perfect shall remain in it.

22 എന്നാൽ ദുഷ്ടമനുഷ്യർ ദേശത്തുനിന്ന് വിച്ഛേദിക്കപ്പെടും, വഞ്ചകർ അവിടെനിന്ന് ഉന്മൂലനംചെയ്യപ്പെടും.

But the wicked shall be cut off from the land, and they that deal treacherously shall be rooted out of it.
