സദൃശവാക്യങ്ങൾ 14
1 ജ്ഞാനമുള്ള വനിത തന്റെ വീട് പണിയുന്നു, എന്നാൽ ഭോഷയായവൾ സ്വന്തം കൈകൊണ്ട് തന്റെ ഭവനം ഇടിച്ചുതകർക്കുന്നു.
A wise woman buildeth her house: but the foolish destroyeth it with her owne handes.
2 യഹോവയെ ഭയപ്പെടുന്നവർ സത്യസന്ധതയോടെ ജീവിക്കുന്നു, എന്നാൽ അവിടത്തെ നിന്ദിക്കുന്നവർ തങ്ങളുടെ കുത്സിതമാർഗം അവലംബിക്കുന്നു.
He that walketh in his righteousnes, feareth the Lord: but he that is lewde in his wayes, despiseth him.
3 ഭോഷരുടെ വായ് അഹങ്കാരവാക്കുൾ ഉരുവിടുന്നു, എന്നാൽ ജ്ഞാനിയുടെ അധരം അവരെ സംരക്ഷിക്കുന്നു.
In the mouth of the foolish is the rod of pride: but the lippes of the wise preserue them.
4 കാളകൾ ഇല്ലാത്തിടത്ത്, പുൽത്തൊട്ടി ശൂന്യമായിക്കിടക്കുന്നു, എന്നാൽ കാളയുടെ കരുത്തിൽനിന്ന് സമൃദ്ധമായ വിളവുലഭിക്കുന്നു.
Where none oxen are, there the cribbe is emptie: but much increase cometh by the strength of the oxe.
5 സത്യസന്ധതയുള്ള സാക്ഷി വ്യാജം പറയുകയില്ല, എന്നാൽ കള്ളസാക്ഷി നുണകൾ പറഞ്ഞുഫലിപ്പിക്കുന്നു.
A faithfull witnes will not lye: but a false record will speake lyes.
6 പരിഹാസി ജ്ഞാനം അന്വേഷിക്കുന്നു, കണ്ടെത്തുന്നില്ല, എന്നാൽ വിവേകിക്ക് പരിജ്ഞാനം അനായാസം കൈവരുന്നു.
A scorner seeketh wisdome, and findeth it not: but knowledge is easie to him that will vnderstande.
7 ഭോഷരിൽനിന്നും അകലം പാലിക്കുക; നീ അവരുടെ അധരങ്ങളിൽ പരിജ്ഞാനം കണ്ടെത്തുകയില്ല.
Depart from the foolish man, when thou perceiuest not in him the lippes of knowledge.
8 വിവേകിയുടെ ജ്ഞാനം അവരുടെ വഴികളിലേക്കുള്ള ആലോചന നൽകുന്നു, എന്നാൽ ഭോഷരുടെ മടയത്തരം അവരെ വഞ്ചിക്കുന്നു.
The wisdome of ye prudent is to vnderstand his way: but the foolishnes of the fooles is deceite.
9 ഭോഷർ പാപത്തിനുള്ള പ്രായശ്ചിത്തത്തെ പരിഹാസത്തോടെ വീക്ഷിക്കുന്നു, എന്നാൽ നീതിനിഷ്ഠർ അവിടത്തെ പ്രീതി ആസ്വദിക്കുന്നു.
The foole maketh a mocke of sinne: but among the righteous there is fauour.
10 ഓരോ ഹൃദയവും അതിന്റെ വ്യഥ തിരിച്ചറിയുന്നു, മറ്റാർക്കും അതിന്റെ ആനന്ദത്തിൽ പങ്കുചേരാൻ കഴിയുകയില്ല.
The heart knoweth the bitternes of his soule, and the stranger shall not medle with his ioy.
11 ദുഷ്കർമിയുടെ ഭവനം നശിപ്പിക്കപ്പെടും, എന്നാൽ നീതിനിഷ്ഠരുടെ കൂടാരം പുരോഗതി കൈവരിക്കും.
The house of the wicked shalbe destroyed: but the tabernacle of the righteous shall florish.
12 ഓരോരുത്തർക്കും തങ്ങളുടെമുമ്പിലുള്ള വഴി ശരിയായത് എന്നു തോന്നാം, എന്നാൽ അവസാനം അതു മരണത്തിലേക്കു നയിക്കുന്നു.
There is a way that seemeth right to a man: but the issues thereof are the wayes of death.
13 ആഹ്ലാദം പങ്കിടുമ്പോഴും ഹൃദയം ദുഃഖഭരിതമാകാം, സന്തോഷം സന്താപത്തിൽ അവസാനിക്കുകയുംചെയ്യാം.
Euen in laughing the heart is sorowful, and the ende of that mirth is heauinesse.
14 വിശ്വാസഘാതകർ തങ്ങളുടെ പ്രവൃത്തികളുടെ ഫലം അനുഭവിക്കും; നല്ല മനുഷ്യർ തങ്ങളുടെ പ്രവൃത്തികളുടെ ഫലവും.
The heart that declineth, shall be saciate with his owne wayes: but a good man shall depart from him.
15 ലളിതമാനസർ സകലതും വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നു, വിവേകികൾ തങ്ങളുടെ ചുവടുകൾ സൂക്ഷ്മതയോടെ വെക്കുന്നു.
The foolish will beleeue euery thing: but the prudent will consider his steppes.
16 ജ്ഞാനി യഹോവയെ ഭയപ്പെട്ട് അധർമത്തെ അകറ്റിനിർത്തുന്നു, എന്നാൽ ഭോഷർ വീണ്ടുവിചാരമില്ലാത്തവരും സാഹസികരുമാണ്.
A wise man feareth, and departeth from euill: but a foole rageth, and is carelesse.
17 ഒരു ക്ഷിപ്രകോപി മടയത്തരം പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്നു, കുടിലതന്ത്രങ്ങൾ മെനയുന്നവർ വെറുക്കപ്പെടുന്നു.
He that is hastie to anger, committeth follie, and a busie body is hated.
18 ലളിതമാനസർ മടയത്തരം അവകാശമാക്കുന്നു, വിവേകികൾ പരിജ്ഞാനത്താൽ വലയംചെയ്യപ്പെടുന്നു.
The foolish do inherite follie: but the prudent are crowned with knowledge.
19 ദുഷ്ടർ നല്ല മനുഷ്യരുടെമുമ്പാകെ വണങ്ങും; നീചർ നീതിനിഷ്ഠരുടെ കവാടത്തിലും.
The euill shall bowe before the good, and the wicked at the gates of the righteous.
20 ദരിദ്രരെ അവരുടെ അയൽവാസികൾപോലും അവഗണിക്കുന്നു, എന്നാൽ ധനികർക്കു ധാരാളം സുഹൃത്തുക്കളുണ്ട്.
The poore is hated euen of his own neighbour: but the friendes of the rich are many.
21 ഒരാൾ തന്റെ അയൽവാസിയെ നിന്ദിക്കുന്നത് പാപമാണ്, ആവശ്യക്കാരോട് ദയാവായ്പു കാട്ടുന്നവർ അനുഗൃഹീതർ.
The sinner despiseth his neighbour: but he that hath mercie on the poore, is blessed.
22 തിന്മയ്ക്കായി ഗൂഢാലോചന നടത്തുന്നവർ വഴിയാധാരമാകുകയില്ലേ? എന്നാൽ സൽപ്രവൃത്തികൾ ആസൂത്രണംചെയ്യുന്നവർ സ്നേഹവും വിശ്വാസവും നേടുന്നു.
Doe not they erre that imagine euill? but to them that thinke on good things, shalbe mercie and trueth.
23 എല്ലാ കഠിനാധ്വാനവും ലാഭം കൊണ്ടുവരും, എന്നാൽ കേവലഭാഷണം ദാരിദ്ര്യത്തിന് വഴിതെളിക്കുന്നു.
In all labour there is abundance: but the talke of the lippes bringeth onely want.
24 ജ്ഞാനിയുടെ സമ്പത്ത് അവരുടെ മകുടം, എന്നാൽ ഭോഷരുടെ ഭോഷത്തത്തിൽനിന്ന് ഭോഷത്തംതന്നെ വിളയുന്നു.
The crowne of the wise is their riches, and the follie of fooles is foolishnes.
25 സത്യസന്ധതയുള്ള സാക്ഷി ജീവിതങ്ങളെ രക്ഷിക്കുന്നു, എന്നാൽ കള്ളസാക്ഷിയോ വഞ്ചകരാകുന്നു.
A faithfull witnes deliuereth soules: but a deceiuer speaketh lyes.
26 യഹോവയെ ഭയപ്പെടുന്നവർക്ക് കെട്ടുറപ്പുള്ള കോട്ടയുണ്ട്, അവരുടെ സന്താനങ്ങൾക്ക് അതൊരു അഭയസ്ഥാനമായിരിക്കും.
In the feare of the Lord is an assured strength, and his children shall haue hope.
27 യഹോവാഭക്തി ജീവജലധാരയാണ്, അത് ഒരു മനുഷ്യനെ മരണക്കെണിയിൽനിന്നു രക്ഷിക്കുന്നു.
The feare of the Lord is as a welspring of life, to auoyde the snares of death.
28 ജനബാഹുല്യം രാജാവിനു മഹത്ത്വം, എന്നാൽ ജനശൂന്യതയാൽ അദ്ദേഹം അധഃപതിക്കുന്നു.
In the multitude of the people is the honour of a King, and for the want of people commeth the destruction of the Prince.
29 ദീർഘക്ഷമയുള്ളവർ അത്യന്തം വിവേകശാലികളാണ്, എന്നാൽ ക്ഷിപ്രകോപി മടയത്തരം വെളിപ്പെടുത്തുന്നു.
He that is slowe to wrath, is of great wisdome: but he that is of an hastie minde, exalteth follie.
30 പ്രശാന്തമായ മനസ്സ് ശരീരത്തിനു ജീവദായകമാണ്, എന്നാൽ അസൂയ അസ്ഥികളിൽ അർബുദംപോലെയാണ്.
A sounde heart is the life of the flesh: but enuie is the rotting of the bones.
31 ദരിദ്രരെ പീഡിപ്പിക്കുന്നവർ അവരുടെ സ്രഷ്ടാവിനെ അവഹേളിക്കുന്നു, അവരുടെ ആവശ്യങ്ങളിൽ സഹായിക്കുന്നവർ അവിടത്തെ ബഹുമാനിക്കുന്നു.
He that oppresseth the poore, reprooueth him that made him: but hee honoureth him, that hath mercie on the poore.
32 ദുരന്തമുഖത്ത് ദുഷ്ടർ ചിതറിക്കപ്പെടുന്നു, എന്നാൽ നീതിനിഷ്ഠർക്കു മരണത്തിലും അഭയസ്ഥാനമുണ്ട്.
The wicked shall be cast away for his malice: but the righteous hath hope in his death.
33 വകതിരിവുള്ളവരുടെ ഹൃദയത്തിൽ ജ്ഞാനം കുടികൊള്ളുന്നു എന്നാൽ ഭോഷരുടെ മധ്യത്തിൽപോലും അവൾ അറിയപ്പെടാൻ അനുവദിക്കുന്നു.
Wisedome resteth in the heart of him that hath vnderstanding, and is knowen in the mids of fooles.
34 നീതി ഒരു രാഷ്ട്രത്തെ ഉന്നതസ്ഥിതിയിലെത്തിക്കുന്നു, എന്നാൽ പാപം ഏതു ജനതയ്ക്കും അപമാനകരം.
Iustice exalteth a nation, but sinne is a shame to the people.
35 ജ്ഞാനിയായ സേവകരിൽ രാജാവ് സംപ്രീതനാണ്, എന്നാൽ ലജ്ജാകരമായി പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്ന ദാസൻ രാജാവിന്റെ ക്രോധം ജ്വലിപ്പിക്കുന്നു.
The pleasure of a King is in a wise seruant: but his wrath shalbe toward him that is lewde.
