സദൃശവാക്യങ്ങൾ 13
1 ജ്ഞാനമുള്ള മകൻ തന്റെ പിതാവിന്റെ ശിക്ഷണത്തിനു ശ്രദ്ധനൽകുന്നു, എന്നാൽ പരിഹാസി ശാസന ഗൗനിക്കുന്നില്ല.
A wise sonne will obey the instruction of his father: but a scorner will heare no rebuke.
2 തന്റെ അധരഫലങ്ങളിൽനിന്ന് ഒരു വ്യക്തി നന്മ ആസ്വദിക്കുന്നു, എന്നാൽ വിശ്വാസഘാതകർ അക്രമങ്ങളിൽ ആസക്തരാണ്.
A man shall eate good things by the fruite of his mouth: but the soule of the trespassers shall suffer violence.
3 തങ്ങളുടെ വാക്കുകൾ നിയന്ത്രിക്കുന്നവർ സ്വന്തം ജീവൻ സംരക്ഷിക്കുന്നു, വിടുവായത്തരം പറയുന്നവർ നാശത്തിനു വിധേയരാകുന്നു.
Hee that keepeth his mouth, keepeth his life: but he that openeth his lips, destruction shall be to him.
4 അലസരുടെ ആർത്തി ഒരിക്കലും ശമിക്കുന്നില്ല, എന്നാൽ സ്ഥിരോത്സാഹിയുടെ ആഗ്രഹങ്ങൾക്കു പരിപൂർണതൃപ്തിവരുന്നു.
The sluggard lusteth, but his soule hath nought: but the soule of the diligent shall haue plentie.
5 നീതിനിഷ്ഠർ കാപട്യം വെറുക്കുന്നു, എന്നാൽ ദുഷ്ടർ ദുർഗന്ധവാഹികളായി സ്വയം അപമാനം വിളിച്ചുവരുത്തുന്നു.
A righteous man hateth lying wordes: but the wicked causeth slander and shame.
6 നീതി സത്യസന്ധരെ കാത്തുസൂക്ഷിക്കുന്നു, എന്നാൽ അകൃത്യം പാപിയെ നിലംപരിശാക്കുന്നു.
Righteousnesse preserueth the vpright of life: but wickednes ouerthroweth the sinner.
7 ഒന്നുമില്ലാത്ത ഒരാൾ ധനികനെന്നു നടിക്കുന്നു, മറ്റൊരാൾ വലിയ സമ്പത്തിന്നുടമ; എങ്കിലും ദരിദ്രനെന്നു ഭാവിക്കുന്നു.
There is that maketh himselfe riche, and hath nothing, and that maketh himselfe poore, hauing great riches.
8 ധനികനു തന്റെ സമ്പത്തു മോചനദ്രവ്യമായി കൊടുക്കാം, എന്നാൽ ദരിദ്രന് ഭീഷണിപ്പെടുത്തുന്ന ശകാരത്തിനു പ്രതികരിക്കാൻപോലും കഴിയില്ല.
A man will giue his riches for the ransome of his life: but the poore cannot heare ye reproch.
9 നീതിനിഷ്ഠരുടെ വെളിച്ചം പ്രശോഭിക്കുന്നു, എന്നാൽ ദുഷ്ടരുടെ വിളക്ക് ഊതിയണയ്ക്കപ്പെടുന്നു.
The light of the righteous reioyceth: but the candle of the wicked shall be put out.
10 എവിടെ അഹന്തയുണ്ടോ അവിടെ കലഹമുണ്ട്, എന്നാൽ ഉപദേശം സ്വീകരിക്കുന്നവരിൽ ജ്ഞാനമുണ്ട്.
Onely by pride doeth man make contention: but with the well aduised is wisdome.
11 കുടിലതയിലൂടെ ആർജിച്ച സമ്പത്ത് ക്ഷയിച്ചുപോകും, എന്നാൽ കഠിനാധ്വാനത്താൽ നേടുന്നവരുടെ സമ്പത്ത് വർധിച്ചുവരും.
The riches of vanitie shall diminish: but he that gathereth with the hand, shall increase them.
12 സഫലമാകാൻ വൈകുന്ന പ്രതീക്ഷകൾ ഹൃദയത്തെ രോഗാതുരമാക്കുന്നു, എന്നാൽ ചിരകാലാഭിലാഷത്തിന്റെ പൂർത്തീകരണം ജീവന്റെ വൃക്ഷമാണ്.
The hope that is deferred, is the fainting of the heart: but when the desire commeth, it is as a tree of life.
13 ഉപദേശം ധിക്കരിക്കുന്നവർ അതിനു നല്ല വില കൊടുക്കേണ്ടിവരും, എന്നാൽ കൽപ്പനകൾ ആദരിക്കുന്നവർക്കു പ്രതിഫലം ലഭിക്കും.
He that despiseth the worde, hee shall be destroyed: but hee that feareth the commandement he shalbe rewarded.
14 ജ്ഞാനിയുടെ ഉപദേശം ജീവജലധാരയാണ്, അത് ഒരു മനുഷ്യനെ മരണക്കെണിയിൽനിന്നു രക്ഷിക്കുന്നു.
The instruction of a wise man is as the welspring of life, to turne away from the snares of death.
15 നല്ല വിധിനിർണയം പ്രസാദം ആർജിക്കുന്നു, എന്നാൽ വിശ്വാസഘാതകർ അവരെത്തന്നെ നാശത്തിലേക്കു നയിക്കുന്നു.
Good vnderstanding maketh acceptable: but the way of the disobedient is hated.
16 വിവേകികൾ തങ്ങളുടെ പരിജ്ഞാനത്തിനനുസരിച്ചു പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്നു, എന്നാൽ ഭോഷർ തങ്ങളുടെ മടയത്തരം വെളിവാക്കുന്നു.
Euery wise man will worke by knowledge: but a foole will spread abroade folly.
17 ദുഷ്ടത പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്ന സന്ദേശവാഹകർ കുഴപ്പത്തിൽ ചാടുന്നു, എന്നാൽ വിശ്വസ്തരായ സ്ഥാനപതി സൗഖ്യം കൊണ്ടുവരുന്നു.
A wicked messenger falleth into euill: but a faithfull ambassadour is preseruation.
18 ശിക്ഷണം നിരസിക്കുന്നവർ അപമാനത്തിനും ദാരിദ്ര്യത്തിനും ഇരയാകുന്നു, എന്നാൽ ശാസന അംഗീകരിക്കുന്നവരോ, ബഹുമാനിതരാകും.
Pouertie and shame is to him that refuseth instruction: but hee that regardeth correction, shalbe honoured.
19 അഭിലാഷങ്ങളുടെ പൂർത്തീകരണം ആത്മാവിനു മാധുര്യമേകുന്നു, എന്നാൽ ഭോഷർക്ക് ദുഷ്ടതയിൽനിന്നു പിന്മാറുന്നതു വെറുപ്പാകുന്നു.
A desire accomplished deliteth ye soule: but it is an abomination to fooles to depart from euil.
20 ജ്ഞാനിയോടൊപ്പം നടക്കുന്നയാൾ ജ്ഞാനിയായിമാറും, ഭോഷരോടൊത്തു നടക്കുന്നയാളോ, കഷ്ടത നേരിടും!
He that walketh with the wise, shalbe wise: but a companion of fooles shalbe afflicted.
21 അനർഥം പാപിയെ പിൻതുടരുന്നു, എന്നാൽ നീതിനിഷ്ഠർക്ക് അഭിവൃദ്ധി കൈവരുന്നു.
Affliction followeth sinners: but vnto the righteous God will recompense good.
22 നല്ല മനുഷ്യർ അവരുടെ കൊച്ചുമക്കൾക്കും പൈതൃകാവകാശം ശേഷിപ്പിക്കും, എന്നാൽ ഒരു പാപിയുടെ സമ്പത്ത് നീതിനിഷ്ഠർക്കുവേണ്ടി ശേഖരിക്കപ്പെടുന്നു.
The good man shall giue inheritance vnto his childrens children: and the riches of the sinner is layde vp for the iust.
23 ഉഴുതുമറിക്കാത്ത കൃഷിയിടം ദരിദ്രർക്കുവേണ്ടി ആഹാരം വിളയിക്കുന്നു, എന്നാൽ അനീതി അവ അപഹരിച്ചുകളയുന്നു.
Much foode is in the fielde of the poore: but the fielde is destroyed without discretion.
24 വടി ഒഴിവാക്കുന്നവർ തങ്ങളുടെ മക്കളെ വെറുക്കുന്നു, എന്നാൽ തങ്ങളുടെ മക്കളെ സ്നേഹിക്കുന്നവർ അവരെ ശിക്ഷിക്കുന്നതിൽ ശ്രദ്ധാലുക്കളാണ്.
He that spareth his rodde, hateth his sonne: but he that loueth him, chasteneth him betime.
25 നീതിനിഷ്ഠർ തങ്ങൾക്ക് തൃപ്തിവരുവോളം ഭക്ഷിക്കുന്നു, എന്നാൽ ദുഷ്ടരുടെ ഉദരത്തിൽ വിശപ്പിനു ശമനംവരികയില്ല.
The righteous eateth to the contentation of his minde: but the belly of the wicked shall want.
