ഫിലിപ്യർ 1
1 ക്രിസ്തുയേശുവിന്റെ ദാസന്മാരായ പൗലോസും തിമോത്തിയോസും, ക്രിസ്തുയേശുവിൽ വിശ്വാസമർപ്പിച്ച ഫിലിപ്പിയ സഭയിലെ അധ്യക്ഷന്മാരും ശുശ്രൂഷകരും ഉൾപ്പെടെ എല്ലാ വിശുദ്ധർക്കും, എഴുതുന്നത്:
Paul and Timothy, bondservants of Christ Jesus: To all God's people in Christ Jesus who are at Philippi, with the ministers of the Church and their assistants.
2 നമ്മുടെ പിതാവായ ദൈവത്തിൽനിന്നും കർത്താവായ യേശുക്രിസ്തുവിൽനിന്നും നിങ്ങൾക്കു കൃപയും സമാധാനവും ഉണ്ടാകുമാറാകട്ടെ.
May grace and peace be granted to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
3 നിങ്ങളെ ഓർക്കുമ്പോഴെല്ലാം ഞാൻ എന്റെ ദൈവത്തിനു സ്തോത്രംചെയ്യുന്നു.
I thank my God at my every remembrance of you--
4 എന്റെ സുവിശേഷഘോഷണദൗത്യത്തിലെ ആദ്യദിവസംമുതൽ ഇന്നുവരെ നിങ്ങളുടെ പങ്കാളിത്തം അനുസ്മരിച്ച് നിങ്ങൾ എല്ലാവർക്കുംവേണ്ടിയുള്ള സകലപ്രാർഥനകളിലും ഞാൻ എപ്പോഴും ആനന്ദത്തോടെ അപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നു.
always when offering any prayer on behalf of you all, finding a joy in offering it.
I thank my God, I say, for your cooperation in spreading the Good News, from the time it first came to you even until now.
6 നിങ്ങളിൽ ദൈവം ആരംഭിച്ച നല്ല പ്രവൃത്തി ക്രിസ്തുയേശുവിന്റെ പുനരാഗമനദിനംവരെ തുടർന്ന് അതിന്റെ പരിപൂർണതയിൽ എത്തിക്കുമെന്ന് എനിക്ക് ദൃഢനിശ്ചയമുണ്ട്.
For of this I am confident, that He who has begun a good work within you will go on to perfect it in preparation for the day of Jesus Christ.
7 എന്റെ കാരാഗൃഹവാസത്തിലും സുവിശേഷത്തിന് അനുകൂലമായി വാദിച്ച് അതുറപ്പിക്കുന്ന എന്റെ ശുശ്രൂഷയിലും നിങ്ങളെല്ലാവരും എന്നോടൊപ്പം ദൈവകൃപയിൽ പങ്കുവഹിച്ചു. അതുകൊണ്ട് നിങ്ങളെല്ലാവരും എനിക്ക് വളരെ പ്രിയരാണ്. ഇങ്ങനെ നിങ്ങളെ എല്ലാവരെപ്പറ്റിയും ചിന്തിക്കുന്നത് യുക്തമാണല്ലോ.
And I am justified in having this confidence about you all, because, both during my imprisonment and when I stand up in defence of the Good News or to confirm its truth, I have you in my heart, sharers as you all are in the same grace as myself.
8 ക്രിസ്തുയേശുവിന് നിങ്ങളോടുള്ള അതേ വാത്സല്യത്തോടെ നിങ്ങളെയെല്ലാം കാണാൻ ഞാൻ എത്ര ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നു എന്നതിനു ദൈവംതന്നെ സാക്ഷി.
For God is my witness how I yearn over all of you with tender Christian affection.
9 ആഴത്തിലുള്ള അറിവിലും തികഞ്ഞ വിവേകത്തിലും നിങ്ങളുടെ സ്നേഹം അധികമധികം വർധിച്ചുവന്ന്
And it is my prayer that your love may be more and more accompanied by clear knowledge and keen perception, for testing things that differ,
10 നിങ്ങൾ ഏറ്റവും അമൂല്യമായതുതന്നെ തെരഞ്ഞെടുത്തുകൊണ്ട് ക്രിസ്തുവിന്റെ പുനരാഗമനംവരെ നിർമലരും കളങ്കരഹിതരും ആയി ജീവിക്കാൻ ഇടയാകട്ടെ എന്നു ഞാൻ പ്രാർഥിക്കുന്നു.
so that you may be men of transparent character, and may be blameless, in preparation for the day of Christ,
11 തന്നെയുമല്ല, യേശുക്രിസ്തുവിലൂടെമാത്രം ലഭ്യമാകുന്ന നീതിയുടെ ഫലങ്ങൾ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ മഹത്ത്വത്തിനും പുകഴ്ചയ്ക്കുമായി നിങ്ങളിൽ നിറയട്ടെ എന്നും ഞാൻ പ്രാർഥിക്കുന്നു.
being filled with these fruits of righteousness which come through Jesus Christ-- to the glory and praise of God.
12 സഹോദരങ്ങളേ, ഞാൻ അഭിമുഖീകരിച്ചതൊക്കെയും സുവിശേഷത്തിന്റെ വ്യാപനത്തിനായി പ്രയോജനപ്പെട്ടു എന്നു നിങ്ങൾ അറിയണം എന്നു ഞാൻ ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നു.
Now I would have you know, brethren, that what I have gone through has turned out to the furtherance of the Good News rather than otherwise.
13 അങ്ങനെ, ഞാൻ ചങ്ങല ധരിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നത് ക്രിസ്തു നിമിത്തമാണെന്ന് കൊട്ടാരനിവാസികൾ എല്ലാവർക്കും മറ്റുള്ളവർക്കും വ്യക്തമായിട്ടറിയാൻ കഴിഞ്ഞു.
And thus it has become notorious among all the Imperial Guards, and everywhere, that it is for the sake of Christ that I am a prisoner;
14 അതുമാത്രമല്ല എന്റെ കാരാഗൃഹവാസംനിമിത്തം ഒട്ടുമിക്ക സഹോദരങ്ങളും കർത്താവിൽ ആത്മവിശ്വാസമാർജിച്ചു; അവർ നിർഭയരായി ദൈവവചനം ഘോഷിക്കാൻ കൂടുതൽ ധൈര്യം പ്രകടിപ്പിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു.
and the greater part of the brethren, made confident in the Lord through my imprisonment, now speak of God's Message without fear, more boldly than ever.
15 ചിലർ ഞങ്ങളോടുള്ള അസൂയയും മാത്സര്യവും നിമിത്തം ക്രിസ്തുവിനെ പ്രസംഗിക്കുന്നു. എന്നാൽ മറ്റുചിലർ സദുദ്ദേശ്യത്തോടെയാണ് അതു ചെയ്യുന്നത്.
Some indeed actually preach Christ out of envy and contentiousness but there are also others who do it from good will.
16 സുവിശേഷത്തിന് അനുകൂലമായി വാദിച്ചതിനാൽ ഞാൻ ഇവിടെ അടയ്ക്കപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നറിഞ്ഞ് അവർ സ്നേഹപൂർവം അങ്ങനെചെയ്യുന്നു.
These latter preach Him from love to me, knowing that I am here for the defence of the Good News;
17 മാത്സര്യപൂർവം ക്രിസ്തുവിനെ പ്രസംഗിക്കുന്നവർ ആകട്ടെ ആത്മാർഥത ഇല്ലാതെ, എന്റെ കാരാഗൃഹവാസം കൂടുതൽ ദുഷ്കരമാക്കുന്നതിനു വേണ്ടിയാണ് അപ്രകാരം ചെയ്യുന്നത്.
while the others proclaim Him from motives of rivalry, and insincerely, supposing that by this they are embittering my imprisonment.
18 എങ്ങനെ ആയാലെന്ത്? സദുദ്ദേശ്യത്തോടെയോ ദുരുദ്ദേശ്യത്തോടെയോ എങ്ങനെ ആയിരുന്നാലും ക്രിസ്തുവിനെയാണല്ലോ പ്രസംഗിക്കുന്നത്; അതിൽ ഞാൻ ആനന്ദിക്കുന്നു. അതേ, ഞാൻ ആനന്ദിച്ചുകൊണ്ടേയിരിക്കും,
What does it matter, however? In any case Christ is preached--either perversely or in honest truth; and in that I rejoice, yes, and will rejoice.
19 കാരണം നിങ്ങളുടെ പ്രാർഥനയാലും യേശുക്രിസ്തുവിന്റെ ആത്മാവിന്റെ സഹായത്താലും ഞാൻ വിമോചിതനാകുമെന്ന് എനിക്കുറപ്പുണ്ട്.
For I know that it will result in my salvation through your prayers and a bountiful supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ,
20 എനിക്കൊരിക്കലും ലജ്ജിക്കാൻ ഇടയാകുകയില്ലെന്നും ജീവിതത്താലാകട്ടെ, മരണത്താലാകട്ടെ, ക്രിസ്തു എന്റെ ശരീരത്തിൽ എക്കാലവുമെന്നപോലെ ഇപ്പോഴും മഹത്ത്വപ്പെടുമെന്നും ഞാൻ സധൈര്യം അഭിവാഞ്ഛിക്കുകയും പ്രത്യാശിക്കയുംചെയ്യുന്നു.
in fulfilment of my eager expectation and hope that I shall never have reason to feel ashamed, but that by my perfect freedom of speech Christ will be glorified in me, now as always, either by my life or by my death.
21 ക്രിസ്തുവാണ് എനിക്കു ജീവിതം; മരണം എനിക്കു ലാഭവും!
For, with me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.
22 ഞാൻ ശരീരത്തിൽ തുടർന്നും ജീവിക്കുന്നു എങ്കിൽ അതു ഞാൻ ഫലപ്രദമായി പ്രയത്നിക്കാൻവേണ്ടി ആയിരിക്കും. എന്നാൽ, എന്തു തെരഞ്ഞെടുക്കേണ്ടൂ എന്നു ഞാൻ അറിയുന്നില്ല!
But since to live means a longer stay on earth, that implies more labour for me--and not unsuccessful labour; and which I am to choose I cannot tell.
23 ഈ രണ്ടുദിശകളിൽനിന്നും ഞാൻ സമ്മർദം നേരിടുന്നു: ഈ ലോകത്തോടു വിട പറഞ്ഞ് ക്രിസ്തുവിനോടുകൂടെ ആയിരിക്കാനാണ് എന്റെ അഭിവാഞ്ഛ; അതാണ് ശ്രേഷ്ഠതരം.
I am in a dilemma, my earnest desire being to depart and be with Christ, for that is far, far better.
24 എന്നാൽ ഞാൻ ശരീരത്തിൽ ജീവിച്ചിരിക്കേണ്ടത് നിങ്ങൾനിമിത്തം അധികം ആവശ്യമായിരിക്കുന്നു.
But for your sakes it is more important that I should still remain in the body.
25 ഈ ബോധ്യമുള്ളതിനാൽ ഞാൻ ജീവനോടിരിക്കുമെന്നതും നിങ്ങളുടെ വിശ്വാസത്തിന്റെ അഭിവൃദ്ധിക്കും ആനന്ദത്തിനുമായി നിങ്ങളോടൊപ്പം ഉണ്ടായിരിക്കുമെന്നതും സുനിശ്ചിതമാണ്.
I am convinced of this, and I know that I shall remain, and shall go on working side by side with you all, to promote your progress and joy in the faith;
26 അങ്ങനെ നിങ്ങളുടെ അടുത്ത് മടങ്ങിവരുമ്പോൾ ഞാൻനിമിത്തം ക്രിസ്തുയേശുവിൽ നിങ്ങൾക്കുള്ള അഭിമാനം വർധിക്കും.
so that, as Christians, you may have additional reason for glorying about me as the result of my being with you again.
27 ഇത്രമാത്രം: ക്രിസ്തുവിന്റെ സുവിശേഷത്തിന് യോഗ്യമായവിധം ജീവിക്കുന്ന പൗരരാകുക. അങ്ങനെയായാൽ ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടൊപ്പമുള്ളപ്പോഴും നിങ്ങളിൽനിന്ന് ദൂരെ ആയിരുന്നാലും, നിങ്ങൾ ഏകാത്മാവിൽ ഉറച്ചുനിന്ന്, ഏകമനസ്സോടെ, മറ്റുള്ളവർ സുവിശേഷത്തിൽ വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നതിനുവേണ്ടി പോരാടുന്നു, എന്ന് നിങ്ങളെക്കുറിച്ച് എനിക്കു കേൾക്കാൻ കഴിയും.
Only let the lives you live be worthy of the Good News of the Christ, in order that, whether I come and see you or, being absent, only hear of you, I may know that you are standing fast in one spirit and with one mind, fighting shoulder to shoulder for the faith of the Good News.
28 നിങ്ങളുടെ എതിരാളികളിൽനിന്നുണ്ടാകുന്ന യാതൊന്നിനാലും നിങ്ങളുടെ ധൈര്യം ചോർന്നുപോകരുത്. ഭയരഹിതമായ നിങ്ങളുടെ പ്രതികരണം, അവർ നാശത്തിലേക്കു പോകുന്നവരാണെന്നും നിങ്ങൾ രക്ഷിതരാണെന്നും ഉള്ളതിന് ഒരു നിദർശനമാണ്; അത് ദൈവത്തിൽനിന്നു ലഭിച്ചതാണ്.
Never for a moment quail before your antagonists. Your fearlessness will be to them a sure token of impending destruction, but to you it will be a sure token of your salvation--a token coming from God.
29 ക്രിസ്തുവിൽ വിശ്വസിക്കാൻവേണ്ടിമാത്രമല്ല; അവിടത്തേക്കുവേണ്ടി പീഡനം സഹിക്കാനുള്ള പ്രത്യേകപദവിയും നിങ്ങൾക്കു ദാനമായി ലഭിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.
For you have had the privilege granted you on behalf of Christ--not only to believe in Him, but also to suffer on His behalf;
30 എനിക്കുള്ളതായി നിങ്ങൾ കണ്ടതും ഞാൻ ഇപ്പോൾ അനുഭവിക്കുന്നതുമായ അതേ കഷ്ടതയിലൂടെയാണല്ലോ നിങ്ങളും ഇപ്പോൾ കടന്നുപൊയ്ക്കൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നത്.
maintaining, as you do, the same kind of conflict that you once saw in me and which you still hear that I am engaged in.
