1 യഹോവ മോശയോടു കൽപ്പിച്ചു:

And the Lord spake vnto Moses, saying,

2 “കുഷ്ഠരോഗമോ, എന്തെങ്കിലും സ്രവമോ ഉള്ളവരെയും, മൃതശരീരംനിമിത്തം ആചാരപരമായി അശുദ്ധരായവരെയും പാളയത്തിൽനിന്ന് പുറത്താക്കാൻ ഇസ്രായേല്യരോടു കൽപ്പിക്കുക.

Commaund the children of Israel that they put out of the hoste euery leper, and euery one that hath an issue, and whosoeuer is defiled by the dead.

3 സ്ത്രീപുരുഷഭേദമെന്യേ അവരെ പുറത്താക്കുക; അവരുടെ ഇടയിൽ ഞാൻ വസിക്കുന്ന പാളയം അവർ അശുദ്ധമാക്കാതിരിക്കാൻ പാളയത്തിൽനിന്ന് അവരെ പുറത്താക്കുക.”

Both male and female shall ye put out: out of the hoste shall yee put them, that they defile not their tentes among whome I dwell.

4 ഇസ്രായേല്യർ അങ്ങനെ ചെയ്തു; അവർ അവരെ പാളയത്തിനു പുറത്താക്കി. യഹോവ മോശയോടു കൽപ്പിച്ചതുപോലെതന്നെ അവർ ചെയ്തു.

And the children of Israel did so, and put them out of the host, euen as the Lord had commanded Moses, so did the children of Israel.

5 യഹോവ മോശയോട് അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു:

And the Lord spake vnto Moses, saying,

6 “ഇസ്രായേല്യരോടു പറയുക: ‘ഒരു പുരുഷനോ സ്ത്രീയോ ഏതിലെങ്കിലും ഒരാളോടു തെറ്റുചെയ്ത് യഹോവയോട് അവിശ്വസ്തരായാൽ ആ വ്യക്തി കുറ്റക്കാരനാണ്;

Speake vnto the children of Israel, When a man or woman shall commit any sinne that men commit, and transgresse against the Lord, when that person shall trespasse,

7 ആ മനുഷ്യൻ താൻ ചെയ്ത പാപം ഏറ്റുപറയണം. തന്റെ തെറ്റിന് അയാൾ പൂർണ പ്രായശ്ചിത്തം ചെയ്യണം; മുതലിനോട് അഞ്ചിലൊന്നു കൂട്ടിച്ചേർത്ത്, ആരോടു ദ്രോഹം ചെയ്തോ, അയാൾക്കു കൊടുക്കണം.

Then they shall confesse their sinne which they haue done, and shall restore the domage thereof with his principall, and put the fift part of it more thereto, and shall giue it vnto him, against whom he hath trespassed.

8 എന്നാൽ തെറ്റിനു പ്രായശ്ചിത്തം ചെയ്യാൻ ആ വ്യക്തിക്ക് അടുത്ത ബന്ധുക്കളാരുമില്ലെങ്കിൽ പ്രായശ്ചിത്തം യഹോവയ്ക്കുള്ളതായിരിക്കും, അത് അവന്റെ പാപപരിഹാരത്തിനുള്ള ആട്ടുകൊറ്റനോടൊപ്പം പുരോഹിതനു കൊടുക്കണം.

But if the man haue no kinseman, to whom he shoulde restore the domage, the domage shall be restored to the Lord for the Priests vse besides the ramme of the atonement, whereby hee shall make atonement for him.

9 പുരോഹിതന്റെ മുമ്പിൽ ഇസ്രായേല്യർ കൊണ്ടുവരുന്ന സകലവിശുദ്ധ സംഭാവനകളും അദ്ദേഹത്തിനുള്ളതായിരിക്കും.

And euery offring of all the holy thinges of the children of Israel, which they bring vnto the Priest, shalbe his.

10 ഓരോരുത്തരുടെയും വിശുദ്ധവഴിപാടുകൾ അർപ്പിക്കുന്ന വ്യക്തിയുടേതുതന്നെയായിരിക്കും; എന്നാൽ ആ വ്യക്തി പുരോഹിതനു നൽകുന്നതെന്തും പുരോഹിതനുള്ളതായിരിക്കും.’”

And euery mans halowed things shall bee his: that is, whatsoeuer any man giueth the Priest, it shalbe his.

11 പിന്നെ യഹോവ മോശയോട് അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു:

And the Lord spake vnto Moses, saying,

12 “ഇസ്രായേല്യരോടു സംസാരിക്കണം. അവരോട് ഇപ്രകാരം പറയുക: ‘ഒരു പുരുഷന്റെ ഭാര്യ പിഴച്ച് അവനോട് അവിശ്വസ്തയായിത്തീരുകയും;

Speake vnto the children of Israel, and say vnto them, If any mans wife turne to euill, and commit a trespasse against him,

13 പരപുരുഷനുമൊത്ത് അവൾ ലൈംഗികബന്ധത്തിലേർപ്പെടുകയും—അവൾ അശുദ്ധയെങ്കിലും പ്രവൃത്തിയിൽ പിടിക്കപ്പെടാത്തതിനാൽ അവൾക്കെതിരേ സാക്ഷിയില്ലാതിരിക്കുകയും—ഇക്കാര്യം അവളുടെ ഭർത്താവിനു മറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുകയും അവളുടെ അശുദ്ധി കണ്ടുപിടിക്കപ്പെടാതിരിക്കുകയും

So that an other man lie with her fleshly, and it bee hid from the eyes of her husband, and kept close, and yet she be defiled, and there be no witnesse against her, neither she taken with the maner,

14 അവനു സംശയം ജനിക്കുകയും തന്റെ ഭാര്യയെ സംശയത്തോടെ വീക്ഷിക്കുകയും ചെയ്താൽ—അല്ല, അവൾ അശുദ്ധയായിട്ടില്ല എങ്കിലും ഭർത്താവ് അവളെ സംശയിച്ചാൽ—

If he be moued with a ielous minde, so that he is ielous ouer his wife, which is defiled, or if he haue a ielous minde, so that he is ielous ouer his wife, which is not defiled,

15 അവൻ തന്റെ ഭാര്യയെ പുരോഹിതന്റെ മുമ്പിൽ കൊണ്ടുചെല്ലണം. അവൾക്കുവേണ്ടി വഴിപാടായി അവൻ ഒരു ഓമെർ യവമാവും കൊണ്ടുചെല്ലണം. അതിന്മേൽ എണ്ണ ഒഴിക്കുകയോ കുന്തിരിക്കം ഇടുകയോ അരുത്, കാരണം അതു സംശയത്തിന്റെ ഭോജനയാഗമാണ്—അപരാധസ്മാരകമായ ഭോജനയാഗംതന്നെ.

Then shall the man bring his wife to the Priest, and bring her offering with her, the tenth part of an Ephah of barly meale, but he shall not powre oyle vpon it, nor put incense thereon: for it is an offring of ielousie, an offring for a remembrance, calling the sinne to minde:

16 “‘പുരോഹിതൻ അവളെ കൊണ്ടുവന്ന് യഹോവയുടെമുമ്പാകെ നിർത്തണം.

And the Priest shall bring her, and set her before the Lord.

17 ഒരു മൺപാത്രത്തിൽ വിശുദ്ധജലം എടുത്ത് സമാഗമകൂടാരത്തിന്റെ തറയിൽനിന്നെടുത്ത പൊടി പുരോഹിതൻ ആ വെള്ളത്തിൽ ഇടണം.

Then the Priest shall take the holy water in an earthen vessel, and of the dust that is in the floore of the Tabernacle, euen the Priest shall take it and put it into the water.

18 പുരോഹിതൻ സ്ത്രീയെ യഹോവയുടെ സന്നിധിയിൽ നിർത്തി, അദ്ദേഹം അവളുടെ തല അനാവരണം ചെയ്ത്, അനുസ്മരണയാഗം, സംശയത്തിന്റെ ഭോജനയാഗംതന്നെ, അവളുടെ കൈകളിൽ വെക്കണം. ശാപകരമായ കയ്‌പുവെള്ളം പുരോഹിതൻതന്നെ അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ കൈകളിൽ വഹിക്കണം.

After, the Priest shall set the woman before the Lord, and vncouer the womans head, and put the offring of the memorial in her hands: it is the ielousie offering, and the Priest shall haue bitter and cursed water in his hand,

19 പിന്നീട് പുരോഹിതൻ സ്ത്രീയെ ശപഥംചെയ്യിച്ചു പറയേണ്ടത്: “നീ നിന്റെ ഭർത്താവുമായി വിവാഹബന്ധത്തിൽ ആയിരിക്കെ, മറ്റൊരു പുരുഷനും നിന്നോടൊത്തു ലൈംഗികബന്ധത്തിലേർപ്പെടുകയോ വഴിപിഴച്ചുപോകുകയോ ചെയ്യാതെ, നീ ശുദ്ധയായിരിക്കുന്നെങ്കിൽ, ശാപകരമായ ഈ കയ്‌പുവെള്ളം നിനക്കു ഹാനി വരുത്താതിരിക്കട്ടെ.

And the Priest shall charge her by an othe, and say vnto the woman, If no man haue lien with thee, neither thou hast turned to vncleannesse from thine husband, be free from this bitter and cursed water.

20 എന്നാൽ നീ നിന്റെ ഭർത്താവുമായി വിവാഹബന്ധത്തിൽ ആയിരിക്കെ, വഴിപിഴച്ച് നിന്റെ ഭർത്താവല്ലാത്ത അന്യപുരുഷനുമൊത്ത് ലൈംഗികബന്ധത്തിലേർപ്പെട്ട് നിന്നെത്തന്നെ അശുദ്ധയാക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നെങ്കിൽ”—

But if thou hast turned from thine husband, and so art defiled, and some man hath lyen with thee beside thine husband,

21 ഇവിടെ പുരോഹിതൻ സ്ത്രീയെക്കൊണ്ടു ശപഥംചെയ്യിച്ച് ഇങ്ങനെ പറയണം—“യഹോവ നിന്റെ തുട ക്ഷയിപ്പിച്ചു നിന്റെ ഉദരം വീർപ്പിക്കുമ്പോൾ നിന്റെ ജനം നിന്നെ ശപിക്കാനും ആക്ഷേപിക്കാനും ഇടയാകട്ടെ.

(Then the Priest shall charge the woman with an othe of cursing, and the Priest shall say vnto the woman) The Lord make thee to be accursed, and detestable for the othe among thy people, and the Lord cause thy thigh to rot, and thy belly to swell:

22 നിന്റെ ഉദരം വീർക്കുകയും തുട ക്ഷയിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യത്തക്കവണ്ണം, ശാപത്തിന് ഉതകുന്ന ഈ ജലം നിന്റെ ശരീരത്തിൽ പ്രവേശിക്കട്ടെ.” “‘അപ്പോൾ സ്ത്രീ, “ആമേൻ, ആമേൻ” എന്നു പറയണം.

And that this cursed water may goe into thy bowels, to cause thy belly to swell, and thy thigh to rot. Then the woman shall answere, Amen, Amen.

23 “‘പുരോഹിതൻ ഈ ശാപങ്ങളെ ഒരു ചുരുളിൽ എഴുതി അതു കഴുകി കയ്‌പുവെള്ളത്തിലാക്കണം.

After, the Priest shall write these curses in a booke, and shall blot them out with the bitter water,

24 ശാപകരമായ കയ്‌പുവെള്ളം സ്ത്രീയെ കുടിപ്പിക്കണം. ശാപകരമായ ഈ കയ്‌പുവെള്ളം അവളിൽ കടന്ന് കയ്പേറിയതായിത്തീരും.

And shall cause the woman to drinke ye bitter and cursed water, and the cursed water, turned into bitternesse, shall enter into her.

25 പുരോഹിതൻ അവളുടെ കൈകളിൽനിന്ന് സംശയത്തിന്റെ ഭോജനയാഗം എടുത്ത്, അത് യഹോവയുടെമുമ്പാകെ ഉയർത്തി യാഗപീഠത്തിൽ കൊണ്ടുവരണം.

Then the Priest shall take the ielousie offring out of the womans hand, and shall shake the offring before the Lord, and offer it vpon ye altar.

26 തുടർന്നു പുരോഹിതൻ ഭോജനയാഗത്തിൽ ഒരുപിടി എടുത്ത് ഒരു സ്മരണാംശമായി യാഗപീഠത്തിൽ ദഹിപ്പിക്കണം; അതിനുശേഷം, അദ്ദേഹം സ്ത്രീയെ ആ വെള്ളം കുടിപ്പിക്കണം.

And the Priest shall take an handfull of the offring for a memorial thereof, and burne it vpon the altar, and afterwarde make the woman drinke the water.

27 അവൾ തന്നെത്തന്നെ അശുദ്ധയാക്കി തന്റെ ഭർത്താവിനോട് അവിശ്വസ്തയായിരുന്നെങ്കിൽ, ആ ശാപജലം അവളെ കുടിപ്പിക്കുമ്പോൾ, അത് അവളിൽ കടന്ന് കയ്‌പായിത്തീരും; അവളുടെ ഉദരം വീർക്കുകയും തുട ക്ഷയിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യും, അവൾ തന്റെ ജനത്തിനിടയിൽ ശപിക്കപ്പെട്ടവളായിത്തീരും.

When yee haue made her drinke the water, (if she bee defiled and haue trespassed against her husband) then shall the cursed water, turned into bitternesse, enter into her, and her belly shall swell, and her thigh shall rot, and the woman shall be accursed among her people.

28 എന്നാൽ സ്ത്രീ തന്നെത്തന്നെ അശുദ്ധയാക്കാതെയും മാലിന്യം ഒഴിഞ്ഞവളായും ഇരിക്കുന്നെങ്കിൽ, അവൾ കുറ്റവിമുക്തയാകുകയും ഒരു കുഞ്ഞിനു ജന്മംനൽകുകയും ചെയ്യും.

But if the woman bee not defiled, but bee cleane, she shalbe free and shall conceiue and beare.

29 “‘ഇതാണു പാതിവ്രത്യശങ്ക സംബന്ധിച്ചുള്ള നിയമം. ഒരു ഭർത്താവുമായി വിവാഹബന്ധത്തിലായിരിക്കെ വഴിപിഴച്ച് തന്നെത്താൻ അശുദ്ധയാക്കുകയോ,

This is the law of ielousie, when a wife turneth from her husband and is defiled,

30 ഒരു പുരുഷൻ തന്റെ ഭാര്യയെ സംശയിക്കുകയോ ചെയ്യുമ്പോഴുള്ള നിയമം ഇതുതന്നെ. പുരോഹിതൻ അവളെ യഹോവയുടെമുമ്പിൽ നിർത്തി, ഈ നിയമങ്ങളെല്ലാം ആ സ്ത്രീയുടെമേൽ നടപ്പിൽവരുത്തണം.

Or when a man is moued with a ielous minde being ielous ouer his wife then shall he bring the woman before the Lord, and the Priest shall do to her according to al this lawe,

31 എന്നാൽ ഭർത്താവ് അകൃത്യത്തിൽനിന്ന് വിമുക്തനായിരിക്കും, എന്നാൽ സ്ത്രീ തന്റെ അകൃത്യം വഹിക്കണം.’”

And the man shalbe free from sinne, but this woman shall beare her iniquitie.
