മത്തായി 9
1 യേശു ഒരു വള്ളത്തിൽ കയറി അക്കരെ സ്വന്തം പട്ടണത്തിൽ എത്തി.
And he ascended (into) the ship, and went over, and came to his city.
2 ചിലർ ഒരു പക്ഷാഘാതരോഗിയെ കിടക്കയോടെ അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ കൊണ്ടുവന്നു. അവരുടെ വിശ്വാസം കണ്ടിട്ട് യേശു പക്ഷാഘാതരോഗിയോട്, “മകനേ, ധൈര്യപ്പെടുക; നിന്റെ പാപങ്ങൾ മോചിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
And they brought to him a paralytic lying on a bed; and Jeshu saw their faith, and said to the paralytic, Be comforted, my son, thy sins are forgiven thee.
3 ഇതു കേട്ട ചില വേദജ്ഞർ, “നോക്കൂ! ഇദ്ദേഹം പറയുന്നത് ദൈവനിന്ദയാണ്” എന്ന് ഉള്ളിൽ മുറുമുറുത്തു.
But men from among the scribes said within themselves, This blasphemeth.
4 യേശു അവരുടെ മനോവ്യാപാരം അറിഞ്ഞിട്ട്, “നിങ്ങളുടെ ഹൃദയത്തിൽ ദുഷ്ടത ചിന്തിക്കുന്നതെന്ത്?
But Jeshu knew their reasonings, and said to them, Why reason ye evil in your hearts?
5 ‘നിന്റെ പാപങ്ങൾ ക്ഷമിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു!’ എന്നു പറയുന്നതോ ‘എഴുന്നേറ്റു നടക്കുക!’ എന്നു പറയുന്നതോ ഏതാകുന്നു എളുപ്പം?” എന്ന് വേദജ്ഞരോട് ചോദിച്ചു.
For which is easier, to say, Forgiven are thy sins, or to say, Arise, walk?
6 “എന്നാൽ മനുഷ്യപുത്രനു ഭൂമിയിൽ പാപങ്ങൾ ക്ഷമിക്കാൻ അധികാരമുണ്ടെന്ന് നിങ്ങൾ അറിഞ്ഞിരിക്കേണ്ടതാണ്.” തുടർന്ന് യേശു ആ പക്ഷാഘാതരോഗിയോട്, “എഴുന്നേറ്റ് നിന്റെ കിടക്കയെടുത്ത് വീട്ടിൽപോകുക” എന്ന് ആജ്ഞാപിച്ചു.
But that ye may know that authority hath the Son of man in the earth to remit sins, he saith to him-the paralytic, -Arise, lift up thy bed, and go to thy house:
7 ആ മനുഷ്യൻ എഴുന്നേറ്റു തന്റെ ഭവനത്തിലേക്കു പോയി.
and he arose (and) went to his house.
8 ജനസമൂഹം ഇതുകണ്ട് ഭയപ്പെട്ടു; മനുഷ്യർക്ക് ഇങ്ങനെയുള്ള അധികാരം നൽകിയ ദൈവത്തെ പുകഴ്ത്തി.
When the assembly saw this, they feared, and glorified Aloha who had given such power as this unto men.
9 യേശു അവിടെനിന്നു പോകുമ്പോൾ മത്തായി എന്നു പേരുള്ള ഒരു മനുഷ്യൻ നികുതിപിരിവു നടത്താനിരിക്കുന്നതു കണ്ടു. യേശു അയാളോട്, “എന്നെ അനുഗമിക്കുക” എന്നു കൽപ്പിച്ചു. മത്തായി എഴുന്നേറ്റ് അദ്ദേഹത്തെ അനുഗമിച്ചു.
AND when Jeshu had passed thence, he saw a man who was sitting at the place of the tribute-takers, whose name was Mathai; and he said to him, Come after me; and he arose and went after him.
10 പിന്നീടൊരിക്കൽ യേശു മത്തായിയുടെ ഭവനത്തിൽ, വിരുന്നുസൽക്കാരത്തിൽ പങ്കെടുക്കുകയായിരുന്നു. അന്ന് വിരുന്നിന് അദ്ദേഹത്തോടും ശിഷ്യന്മാരോടുമൊപ്പം അനേകം നികുതിപിരിവുകാരും കുപ്രസിദ്ധപാപികളും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.
And while he reclined in the house, there came to him many tribute-gatherers and sinners, and reclined with Jeshu and with his disciples.
11 ഇതുകണ്ട പരീശന്മാർ യേശുവിന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാരോട്, “നിങ്ങളുടെ ഗുരു നികുതിപിരിവുകാരോടും പാപികളോടുമൊപ്പം ഭക്ഷിക്കുന്നതെന്ത്?” എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.
And when the Pharishee saw (it), they say to his disciples, Why doth your master eat with tribute-takers and sinners?
12 ഇതു കേട്ടിട്ട് യേശു അവരോട്, “ആരോഗ്യമുള്ളവർക്കല്ല, രോഗികൾക്കാണ് വൈദ്യനെക്കൊണ്ട് ആവശ്യം.
But Jeshu, when he heard (it), said to them, The healthful have no need for the physician, but they who are diseased.
13 ‘യാഗമല്ല, കരുണയാണ് ഞാൻ അഭിലഷിക്കുന്നത്,’ എന്നതിന്റെ അർഥം എന്തെന്നു നിങ്ങൾ പോയി പഠിക്കുക. ഞാൻ നീതിനിഷ്ഠരെയല്ല, പാപികളെയാണു വിളിക്കാൻ വന്നിരിക്കുന്നത്” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
Go, learn what that is: -" I require mercy, and not sacrifice; " for I am not come to call the righteous, but the sinners.
14 അപ്പോൾ യോഹന്നാൻസ്നാപകന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാർ വന്ന് യേശുവിനോട്, “ഞങ്ങളും പരീശന്മാരും പലപ്പോഴും ഉപവസിക്കുന്നു; എന്നാൽ, അങ്ങയുടെ ശിഷ്യന്മാർ ഉപവസിക്കാത്തത് എന്തുകൊണ്ട്?” എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.
Then drew nigh to him the disciples of Juchanon, and said, Why do we and the Pharishee fast much, and thy disciples fast not?
15 അതിനു മറുപടിയായി യേശു, “മണവാളൻ അതിഥികളോടുകൂടെയുള്ളപ്പോൾ വിരുന്നുകാർക്ക് വിലപിക്കാൻ കഴിയുന്നതെങ്ങനെ? മണവാളൻ അവരെ വിട്ടുപിരിയുന്ന കാലം വരും; അപ്പോൾ അവർ ഉപവസിക്കും.
Jeshu said to them, Neither can the sons of the marriage-chamber fast while the bridegroom is with them: but the days are coming when the bridegroom shall be taken up from them, and then shall they fast.
16 “ആരും പുതിയ തുണിക്കഷണം പഴയ വസ്ത്രത്തോടു തുന്നിച്ചേർക്കാറില്ല. അങ്ങനെചെയ്താൽ ആ തുണ്ട് ചുരുങ്ങുകയും കീറൽ ഏറെ വഷളാകുകയും ചെയ്യും.
No man inserteth a piece of new cloth upon an old garment, lest he should take away its fulness from that garment, and the rent be greater.
17 ആരും പുതിയ വീഞ്ഞു പഴയ തുകൽക്കുടങ്ങളിൽ സൂക്ഷിക്കാറില്ല; അങ്ങനെചെയ്താൽ ആ തുകൽക്കുടങ്ങൾ പൊട്ടി വീഞ്ഞ് ഒഴുകിപ്പോകുകയും തുകൽക്കുടങ്ങൾ നശിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യും. അവർ പുതിയ വീഞ്ഞു പുതിയ തുകൽക്കുടങ്ങളിൽത്തന്നെ പകർന്നുവെക്കുന്നു. അപ്പോൾ രണ്ടും ഭദ്രമായിരിക്കും.”
Neither do they pour new wine into old bottles, that the bottles may not be broken, and the wine be spilled, and the bottles perish. But they pour new wine into new bottles, and both are preserved.
18 യേശു ഇങ്ങനെ സംവദിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കുമ്പോൾ ഒരു യെഹൂദപ്പള്ളിമുഖ്യൻ അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെമുമ്പിൽ വന്ന് സാഷ്ടാംഗം വീണ്, “എന്റെ മകൾ ഇപ്പോൾ മരിച്ചുപോയി. അങ്ങ് വന്ന് അവളുടെമേൽ കൈവെക്കണമേ; എന്നാൽ അവൾ ജീവിക്കും” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
WHILE he spake these words with them, a certain chief came, drew near, worshipped him, and said, My daughter is now dead; but come, lay thy hand upon her, and she shall live!
19 യേശു എഴുന്നേറ്റ് അയാളോടൊപ്പം പോയി; ശിഷ്യന്മാരും അനുഗമിച്ചു.
And Jeshu arose, with his disciples, and went after him.
20 അപ്പോൾത്തന്നെ, പന്ത്രണ്ടുവർഷമായി രക്തസ്രാവമുള്ള ഒരു സ്ത്രീ യേശുവിന്റെ പിന്നിലെത്തി, പുറങ്കുപ്പായത്തിന്റെ വിളുമ്പിൽ തൊട്ടു.
And, behold, a woman whose blood had flowed twelve years, came behind him, and touched the edge of his vestment.
21 “അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ പുറങ്കുപ്പായത്തിലെങ്കിലും തൊട്ടാൽ എനിക്കു സൗഖ്യം ലഭിക്കും,” എന്ന് അവൾ ഉള്ളിൽ പറഞ്ഞിരുന്നു.
For she was saying within herself, If I touch but his garment, I shall be healed.
22 യേശു തിരിഞ്ഞ് അവളെ നോക്കി, “മോളേ, ധൈര്യമായിരിക്കൂ, നിന്റെ വിശ്വാസം നിന്നെ സൗഖ്യമാക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. ആ നിമിഷംമുതൽ അവൾ സൗഖ്യമുള്ളവളായിത്തീർന്നു.
But Jeshu turned and seeth her, and said to her, Be comforted, my daughter, thy faith hath saved thee. And the woman was healed from that very hour.
23 യേശു പള്ളിമുഖ്യന്റെ വീട്ടിൽ പ്രവേശിച്ചപ്പോൾ ഓടക്കുഴൽ വായിക്കുന്നവരെയും കരഞ്ഞ് ബഹളം കൂട്ടുന്ന ജനസമൂഹത്തെയും കണ്ട്,
And Jeshu came to the ruler's house, and saw the minstrels and the crowds which were making a tumult.
24 “ഇവിടെനിന്ന് മാറിനിൽക്കൂ, കുട്ടി മരിച്ചിട്ടില്ല, ഉറങ്ങുകയാണ്” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. അവരോ അദ്ദേഹത്തെ പരിഹസിച്ചു.
And he said to them, Retire; for the damsel is not dead, but asleep. And they laughed at him.
25 ജനക്കൂട്ടത്തെ പുറത്താക്കിയശേഷം യേശു അകത്തുചെന്ന് കുട്ടിയെ കൈക്കുപിടിച്ച് ഉയർത്തി. അവൾ എഴുന്നേറ്റു.
And when he had put forth the crowds, he entered, and took her by the hand; and the damsel arose.
26 ഈ വാർത്ത ആ പ്രദേശമെങ്ങും പ്രചരിച്ചു.
And the rumour of this went forth through all that land.
27 യേശു അവിടെനിന്നു പോകുമ്പോൾ, “ദാവീദുപുത്രാ, ഞങ്ങളോടു കരുണതോന്നണമേ” എന്നു നിലവിളിച്ചുകൊണ്ട് രണ്ട് അന്ധന്മാർ അദ്ദേഹത്തെ അനുഗമിച്ചു.
AND when Jeshu had passed thence, two blind men clave to him, and besought him, and said, Have compassion on us, Son of David!
28 യേശു ഭവനത്തിൽ എത്തിയപ്പോൾ ആ അന്ധന്മാർ അദ്ദേഹത്തെ സമീപിച്ചു. യേശു അവരോട്, “എനിക്കിതു ചെയ്യാൻ കഴിയും എന്നു നിങ്ങൾ വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നോ?” എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു. “തീർച്ചയായും, കർത്താവേ,” അവർ ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.
And when he had come into the house, these blind men were brought to him. Jeshu saith to them, Believe you that I am able to do this? They say to him, Yes, our Lord!
29 അപ്പോൾ യേശു അവരുടെ കണ്ണുകളിൽ തൊട്ടുകൊണ്ട്, “നിങ്ങളുടെ വിശ്വാസംപോലെ നിങ്ങൾക്കു ഭവിക്കട്ടെ” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
Then he touched their eyes, and said, As you believe be it to you.
30 ഉടൻതന്നെ അവർക്ക് കാഴ്ച ലഭിച്ചു. യേശു അവരോട്, “നോക്കൂ, ഇതാരും അറിയരുത്” എന്ന കർശനനിർദേശവും നൽകി.
And immediately their eyes were opened. And Jeshu forbad them and said, Beware lest any man know.
31 എന്നാൽ അവർ പോയി അദ്ദേഹത്തെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള ഈ വാർത്ത ആ പ്രദേശമെങ്ങും പ്രചരിപ്പിച്ചു.
But they went forth and spread the report of it through all that land.
32 അവർ പോകുമ്പോൾ ചിലർ ഊമയായ ഒരു ഭൂതബാധിതനെ യേശുവിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ കൊണ്ടുവന്നു.
And when Jeshu went forth, they brought to him a dumb person in whom was a demon.
33 യേശു ഭൂതത്തെ പുറത്താക്കിക്കഴിഞ്ഞപ്പോൾ, ഊമൻ സംസാരിച്ചു. ജനസഞ്ചയം ആശ്ചര്യപ്പെട്ടു, “ഇങ്ങനെയൊന്ന് ഇസ്രായേലിൽ സംഭവിച്ചിട്ടേയില്ല” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
And when the demon had gone out, the dumb spake; and the multitudes were astonished, and said, Never was it thus seen in Isroel.
34 എന്നാൽ പരീശന്മാരാകട്ടെ, “ഇദ്ദേഹം ഭൂതങ്ങളുടെ തലവനെക്കൊണ്ടാണ് ഭൂതങ്ങളെ ഉച്ചാടനം ചെയ്യിക്കുന്നത്” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
But the Pharishee said, By the chief of the devils he casteth out devils.
35 യേശു അവിടെയുള്ള എല്ലാ പട്ടണങ്ങളിലൂടെയും ഗ്രാമങ്ങളിലൂടെയും സഞ്ചരിച്ച്, യെഹൂദരുടെ പള്ളികളിൽ ഉപദേശിച്ചും രാജ്യത്തിന്റെ സുവിശേഷം വിളംബരംചെയ്തും എല്ലാവിധ രോഗങ്ങളും ബലഹീനതകളും സൗഖ്യമാക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു.
And Jeshu itinerated in all their cities and villages, and taught in their assemblies, and preached the gospel of the kingdom, and healed all diseases and all pains.
36 ജനക്കൂട്ടം ഇടയനില്ലാത്ത ആടുകളെപ്പോലെ പീഡിതരും നിസ്സഹായരും ആയിരിക്കുന്നതുകണ്ട് യേശുവിന് അവരോടു സഹതാപം തോന്നി.
BUT when Jeshu saw the multitudes, he had compassion upon them, because they fainted and were dispersed as sheep that had no shepherd;
37 അപ്പോൾ യേശു ശിഷ്യന്മാരോട്, “കൊയ്ത്ത് സമൃദ്ധം; വേലക്കാരോ പരിമിതം.
and said to his disciples, The harvest is great, and the labourers few.
38 അതുകൊണ്ട്, കൊയ്ത്തിന്റെ ഉടമസ്ഥനോട് കൊയ്ത്തിനായി വേലക്കാരെ അയയ്ക്കാൻ അപേക്ഷിക്കുക” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
Ask, therefore, from the Lord of the harvest, that he would thrust forth labourers into his harvest.
