മത്തായി 7
1 “മറ്റുള്ളവരെ ന്യായംവിധിക്കരുത്, വിധിച്ചാൽ നിങ്ങളും വിധിക്കപ്പെടും.
Judge not, that ye be not judged.
2 നിങ്ങൾ മറ്റുള്ളവരെ വിധിക്കുന്ന അതേ മാനദണ്ഡത്താൽ നിങ്ങളും വിധിക്കപ്പെടും നിങ്ങൾ അളക്കാൻ ഉപയോഗിക്കുന്ന അതേ അളവുകൊണ്ടു നിങ്ങൾക്കും അളന്നുകിട്ടും.
For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with the measure which ye measure with, it shall be measured to you again.
3 “സ്വന്തം കണ്ണിൽ മരക്കഷണം ഇരിക്കുന്നതു ഗൗനിക്കാതെ നിങ്ങൾ സഹോദരങ്ങളുടെ കണ്ണിലെ കരടു ചൂണ്ടിക്കാണിക്കാൻ ശ്രമിക്കുന്നതെന്തുകൊണ്ട്?
And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother’s eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thy own eye?
4 നിന്റെ സ്വന്തം കണ്ണിൽ ഒരു മരക്കഷണമിരിക്കുമ്പോൾ സഹോദരങ്ങളോട്, ‘നിങ്ങളുടെ കണ്ണിലെ കരട് എടുത്തുകളയട്ടെ’ എന്നു നിനക്ക് എങ്ങനെ പറയാൻകഴിയും?
Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thy eye; and, behold, a beam is in thy own eye?
5 കപടഭക്തരേ, ആദ്യം നിങ്ങളുടെ കണ്ണിൽനിന്ന് മരക്കഷണം എടുത്തുകളയുക. അപ്പോൾ സഹോദരങ്ങളുടെ കണ്ണിൽനിന്ന് കരട് എടുത്തുകളയുന്നതിന് നിങ്ങൾക്കു വ്യക്തമായി കാണാൻ കഴിയും.
Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thy own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother’s eye.
6 “വിശുദ്ധമായതു നായ്ക്കൾക്കു കൊടുക്കരുത്, നിങ്ങളുടെ മുത്തുകൾ പന്നികളുടെമുമ്പിൽ എറിയുകയുമരുത്; പന്നികൾ ആ മുത്തുകൾ ചവിട്ടിമെതിക്കയും നായ്ക്കൾ തിരിഞ്ഞു നിങ്ങളെ ചീന്തിക്കളയുകയും ചെയ്യും.
Give not that which is holy to dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.
7 “അപേക്ഷിക്കുക, നിങ്ങൾക്ക് അതു ലഭിക്കും; അന്വേഷിക്കുക, നിങ്ങൾ കണ്ടെത്തും; മുട്ടുക, നിങ്ങൾക്കായി വാതിൽ തുറക്കപ്പെടും.
Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened to you:
8 അപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നവർക്കു ലഭിക്കുന്നു; അന്വേഷിക്കുന്നവർ കണ്ടെത്തുന്നു; മുട്ടുന്നവർക്ക് വാതിൽ തുറക്കപ്പെടുന്നു.
For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
9 “നിങ്ങളുടെ മകൻ അപ്പം ചോദിച്ചാൽ നിങ്ങളിലാരാണ് അവനു കല്ലു കൊടുക്കുക?
Or what man is there of you, who if his son shall ask bread, will give him a stone?
10 അല്ലാ, മീൻ ചോദിച്ചാൽ നിങ്ങളിലാരാണ് പാമ്പിനെ നൽകുന്നത്?
Or if he shall ask a fish, will he give him a serpent?
11 മക്കൾക്കു നല്ല ദാനങ്ങൾ കൊടുക്കാൻ പാപികളായ നിങ്ങൾക്കറിയാമെങ്കിൽ, സ്വർഗസ്ഥപിതാവ് തന്നോടപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നവർക്കു നല്ല ദാനങ്ങൾ എത്രയധികമായി നൽകും!
If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more shall your Father who is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?
12 അതുകൊണ്ട്, മറ്റുള്ളവർ നിങ്ങളോടു ചെയ്യണമെന്ന് നിങ്ങൾ ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ നിങ്ങൾ അവരോടും ചെയ്യുക; ഇതുതന്നെയാണ് ന്യായപ്രമാണവും പ്രവാചകന്മാരും പറയുന്നതിന്റെ സാരാംശം.
Therefore all things whatever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.
13 “ഇടുങ്ങിയ വാതിലിലൂടെ പ്രവേശിക്കുക. നാശത്തിലേക്കു നയിക്കുന്ന വാതിൽ വീതിയുള്ളതും വഴി വിസ്തൃതവുമാകുന്നു; അതിലൂടെ പ്രവേശിക്കുന്നവർ അനേകരാണ്.
Enter ye in at the narrow gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there are who go in by it:
14 എന്നാൽ, ജീവനിലേക്കു നയിക്കുന്ന വാതിൽ എത്രയോ ഇടുങ്ങിയതും പാത ദുഷ്കരവുമാണ്; അതു കണ്ടെത്തുന്നവരോ വിരളം.
Because small is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth to life, and few there are that find it.
15 “ആടുകളുടെ വേഷമണിഞ്ഞ് നിങ്ങളെ സമീപിക്കുന്ന വ്യാജപ്രവാചകരെ സൂക്ഷിക്കുക; അകമേ അവർ അത്യാർത്തിപൂണ്ട ചെന്നായ്ക്കളാണ്.
Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
16 അവരുടെ ചെയ്തികളിലൂടെ നിങ്ങൾക്കവരെ തിരിച്ചറിയാം. മുൾച്ചെടികളിൽനിന്ന് മുന്തിരിക്കുലകളോ ഞെരിഞ്ഞിലുകളിൽനിന്ന് അത്തിപ്പഴമോ ശേഖരിക്കാൻ കഴിയുമോ?
Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thorns, or figs from thistles?
17 നല്ലവൃക്ഷം നല്ലഫലവും വിഷവൃക്ഷം വിഷഫലവും നൽകുന്നു.
Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth bad fruit.
18 നല്ലവൃക്ഷത്തിൽ വിഷഫലവും വിഷവൃക്ഷത്തിൽ നല്ലഫലവും കായ്ക്കുകയില്ല.
A good tree cannot bring forth bad fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
19 നല്ലഫലമേകാത്ത ഏതു വൃക്ഷവും വെട്ടി തീയിലെറിയുന്നു.
Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
20 ഇതുപോലെ, വ്യാജപ്രവാചകരെ അവരുടെ ചെയ്തികളിലൂടെ നിങ്ങൾക്ക് തിരിച്ചറിയാം.
Therefore by their fruits ye shall know them.
21 “‘കർത്താവേ, കർത്താവേ’ എന്ന് എന്നെ വിളിക്കുന്ന എല്ലാവരും സ്വർഗരാജ്യത്തിൽ പ്രവേശിക്കുകയില്ല. എന്റെ സ്വർഗസ്ഥപിതാവിന്റെ ഹിതം നിറവേറ്റുന്നവർക്കാണ് അവിടെ പ്രവേശനം.
Not every one that saith to me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father who is in heaven.
22 ന്യായവിധിദിവസത്തിൽ പലരും എന്നോട്, ‘കർത്താവേ, കർത്താവേ, അങ്ങയുടെ നാമത്തിൽ ഞങ്ങൾ പ്രവചിച്ചില്ലയോ? അങ്ങയുടെ നാമത്തിൽ ഭൂതങ്ങളെ ഉച്ചാടനംചെയ്തില്ലയോ? അങ്ങയുടെ നാമത്തിൽ ധാരാളം അത്ഭുതങ്ങളും ഞങ്ങൾ ചെയ്തില്ലയോ?’ എന്നു പറയും.
Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out demons? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
23 അപ്പോൾ ഞാൻ അവരോട്, ‘ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളെ ഒരിക്കലും അറിഞ്ഞിട്ടില്ല; അധർമം പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്നവരേ, എന്നെ വിട്ടുപോകുക എന്ന് ആജ്ഞാപിക്കും!’
And then will I profess to them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
24 “അതുകൊണ്ട്, എന്റെ ഈ വചനങ്ങൾ കേട്ട് അതിനനുസരിച്ചു പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്ന വ്യക്തി പാറമേൽ വീടുപണിത ബുദ്ധിയുള്ള ഒരു മനുഷ്യനു തുല്യം.
Therefore whoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him to a wise man, who built his house upon a rock:
25 പേമാരി പെയ്തു, പ്രളയം വന്നു, കാറ്റ് ആ വീടിന്മേൽ ആഞ്ഞടിച്ചു; എങ്കിലും പാറമേൽ അടിത്തറ ഉറപ്പിച്ചിരുന്നതിനാൽ അത് നിലംപതിച്ചില്ല.
And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.
26 എന്നാൽ, എന്റെ ഈ വചനങ്ങൾ കേട്ടിട്ട് അതിനനുസരിച്ചു പ്രവർത്തിക്കാതിരിക്കുന്ന വ്യക്തി മണലിൽ വീടുപണിത ബുദ്ധിശൂന്യനായ മനുഷ്യനോട് സദൃശൻ.
And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened to a foolish man, who built his house upon the sand:
27 പേമാരി പെയ്തു, പ്രളയം വന്നു, കാറ്റ് ആ വീടിന്മേൽ ആഞ്ഞടിച്ചു; അതിഭയങ്കരമായിരുന്നു ആ വീടിന്റെ പതനം.”
And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was its fall.
28 യേശു ഈ പ്രഭാഷണം അവസാനിപ്പിച്ചപ്പോൾ ജനങ്ങൾ അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ ഉപദേശത്തിൽ ആശ്ചര്യപ്പെട്ടു.
And it came to pass, when Jesus had ended these sayings, the people were astonished at his doctrine:
29 കാരണം, അവരുടെ വേദജ്ഞരെപ്പോലെയല്ല, പിന്നെയോ ആധികാരികതയോടെയാണ് അദ്ദേഹം അവരെ ഉപദേശിച്ചത്.
For he taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes.
