1 അതിനുശേഷം യേശു തന്റെ പന്ത്രണ്ട് ശിഷ്യന്മാരെ അടുക്കൽ വിളിച്ച് ദുരാത്മാക്കളെ പുറത്താക്കാനും എല്ലാവിധ രോഗങ്ങളും ബലഹീനതകളും സൗഖ്യമാക്കാനും അവർക്ക് അധികാരംനൽകി.
He called to himself his twelve disciples, and gave them authority over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal every disease and every sickness.
2 പന്ത്രണ്ട് അപ്പൊസ്തലന്മാരുടെ പേരുകൾ ഇവയാണ്: ഒന്നാമൻ പത്രോസ് എന്ന് യേശു വിളിച്ച ശിമോൻ, അയാളുടെ സഹോദരൻ അന്ത്രയോസ്; സെബെദിയുടെ മകനായ യാക്കോബ്, അയാളുടെ സഹോദരൻ യോഹന്നാൻ;
Now the names of the twelve emissaries are these. The first, Simon, who is called Peter; Andrew, his brother; Jacob the son of Zebedee; Yochanan, his brother;
3 ഫിലിപ്പൊസ്, ബർത്തൊലൊമായി; തോമസ്, നികുതിപിരിവുകാരനായ മത്തായി; അല്‌ഫായിയുടെ മകനായ യാക്കോബ്, തദ്ദായി;
Philip; Bartholomew; Thomas; Matthew the tax collector; Jacob the son of Halfai; Labbai, who was also called Taddai;
4 കനാന്യനായ ശിമോൻ, യേശുവിനെ ഒറ്റിക്കൊടുത്ത ഈസ്കര്യോത്ത് യൂദാ.
Simon the Zealot; and Judah Iscariot, who also betrayed him.
5 യേശു ഈ നിർദേശങ്ങൾ നൽകി പന്ത്രണ്ട് അപ്പൊസ്തലന്മാരെ അയച്ചു: “നിങ്ങൾ യെഹൂദേതരരുടെ മധ്യത്തിലേക്കു പോകുകയോ ശമര്യരുടെ ഏതെങ്കിലും പട്ടണത്തിൽ പ്രവേശിക്കയോ ചെയ്യരുത്.
Yeshua sent these twelve out and commanded them, saying, “Don’t go amongst the Gentiles, and don’t enter into any city of the Samaritans.
6 പിന്നെയോ, ഇസ്രായേലിലെ കാണാതെപോയ ആടുകളുടെ അടുക്കലേക്കുതന്നെ ചെല്ലുക.
Rather, go to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
7 ‘സ്വർഗരാജ്യം സമീപിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു,’ എന്ന സന്ദേശം നിങ്ങൾ പോയി വിളംബരംചെയ്യുക.
As you go, proclaim, saying, ‘The Kingdom of Heaven is at hand!’
8 രോഗികളെ സൗഖ്യമാക്കുക, മരിച്ചവരെ ഉയിർപ്പിക്കുക, കുഷ്ഠരോഗികളെ ശുദ്ധരാക്കുക, ഭൂതങ്ങളെ പുറത്താക്കുക. സൗജന്യമായി നിങ്ങൾക്കു ലഭിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; സൗജന്യമായിത്തന്നെ നൽകുക.
Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, and cast out demons. Freely you received, so freely give.
9 “നിങ്ങളുടെ മടിശ്ശീലയിൽ സ്വർണം, വെള്ളി, ചെമ്പ് ഇവകൊണ്ടുള്ള നാണയങ്ങൾ കരുതിവെക്കരുത്;
Don’t take any gold, silver, or brass in your money belts.
10 സഞ്ചിയോ രണ്ട് വസ്ത്രമോ ചെരിപ്പോ വടിയോ കൊണ്ടുപോകരുത്; ജോലിക്കാരൻ തന്റെ കൂലിക്ക് അർഹനല്ലോ.
Take no bag for your journey, neither two coats, nor sandals, nor staff: for the labourer is worthy of his food.
11 നിങ്ങൾ ഏതെങ്കിലും പട്ടണത്തിലോ ഗ്രാമത്തിലോ പ്രവേശിക്കുമ്പോൾ അവിടെ യോഗ്യനായി ആരുണ്ടെന്ന് അന്വേഷിക്കുക; ആ സ്ഥലത്തുനിന്ന് പോകുന്നതുവരെ അയാളുടെ ഭവനത്തിൽത്തന്നെ താമസിക്കുക.
Into whatever city or village you enter, find out who in it is worthy, and stay there until you go on.
12 ആ വീട്ടിൽ പ്രവേശിക്കുന്നമാത്രയിൽ അവർക്ക് ‘സമാധാനം’ ആശംസിക്കുക.
As you enter into the household, greet it.
13 ആ ഭവനത്തിന് യോഗ്യതയുണ്ടെങ്കിൽ നിങ്ങളുടെ സമാധാനം അതിൽ നിവസിക്കും; അല്ലാത്തപക്ഷം സമാധാനം നിങ്ങളിലേക്കുതന്നെ മടങ്ങിവരും.
If the household is worthy, let your peace come on it, but if it isn’t worthy, let your peace return to you.
14 ആരെങ്കിലും നിങ്ങളെ സ്വാഗതം ചെയ്യാതിരിക്കയോ നിങ്ങളുടെ സന്ദേശം അംഗീകരിക്കാതിരിക്കുകയോ ചെയ്യുന്നെങ്കിൽ, ആ ഭവനമോ പട്ടണമോ വിട്ടുപോകുക; പോകുമ്പോൾ നിങ്ങളുടെ പാദങ്ങളിലെ പൊടി കുടഞ്ഞുകളയുക.
Whoever doesn’t receive you or hear your words, as you go out of that house or that city, shake the dust off your feet.
15 ന്യായവിധിദിവസത്തിൽ ആ പട്ടണനിവാസികൾക്കുണ്ടാകുന്ന അനുഭവത്തിന്റെ ഭയങ്കരതയെക്കാൾ സൊദോം, ഗൊമോറാ നിവാസികൾക്കുണ്ടായ അനുഭവം ഏറെ സഹനീയമായിരിക്കും, നിശ്ചയം.
Most certainly I tell you, it will be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgement than for that city.
16 “ഇതാ, ചെന്നായ്ക്കളുടെ മധ്യത്തിലേക്ക് ആടുകൾ എന്നപോലെ ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളെ അയയ്ക്കുന്നു; ആകയാൽ പാമ്പുകളെപ്പോലെ ബുദ്ധിചാതുര്യമുള്ളവരും പ്രാവുകളെപ്പോലെ നിർമലരും ആയിരിക്കുക.
“Behold, I send you out as sheep amongst wolves. Therefore be wise as serpents and harmless as doves.
17 ജാഗ്രതയോടിരിക്കുക, മനുഷ്യർ നിങ്ങളെ ന്യായാധിപസമിതികൾക്ക് ഏൽപ്പിച്ചുകൊടുക്കുകയും തങ്ങളുടെ പള്ളികളിൽവെച്ചു ചമ്മട്ടികൊണ്ട് അടിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യും.
But beware of men, for they will deliver you up to councils, and in their synagogues they will scourge you.
18 എന്റെ അനുയായികളായതിനാൽ, നിങ്ങളെ അധികാരികളുടെയും രാജാക്കന്മാരുടെയും മുമ്പിൽ കൊണ്ടുപോകും. ഇങ്ങനെ അവർക്കും യെഹൂദേതരർക്കും മുമ്പിൽ നിങ്ങൾ എന്റെ സാക്ഷ്യംവഹിക്കും.
Yes, and you will be brought before governors and kings for my sake, for a testimony to them and to the nations.
19 അവർ നിങ്ങളെ അധികാരികൾക്ക് ഏൽപ്പിക്കുമ്പോൾ എന്തു പറയണമെന്നോ എങ്ങനെ പറയണമെന്നോ ചിന്തിച്ച് വ്യാകുലപ്പെടേണ്ടതില്ല, നിങ്ങൾക്ക് പറയാനുള്ളത് തക്കസമയത്തുതന്നെ നിങ്ങളുടെ നാവിൽ തന്നിരിക്കും.
But when they deliver you up, don’t be anxious how or what you will say, for it will be given you in that hour what you will say.
20 അപ്പോൾ നിങ്ങളല്ല സംസാരിക്കുന്നത്, നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാവിന്റെ ആത്മാവായിരിക്കും നിങ്ങളിലൂടെ സംസാരിക്കുക.
For it is not you who speak, but the Spirit of your Father who speaks in you.
21 “സഹോദരൻ സ്വന്തം സഹോദരനെയും പിതാവു സ്വന്തം മക്കളെയും മരണത്തിന് ഒറ്റിക്കൊടുക്കും. മക്കൾ മാതാപിതാക്കളെ എതിർക്കുകയും അവരെ കൊല്ലിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യും.
“Brother will deliver up brother to death, and the father his child. Children will rise up against parents and cause them to be put to death.
22 നിങ്ങൾ എന്റെ അനുയായികൾ ആയിരിക്കുന്നതു നിമിത്തം സകലരും നിങ്ങളെ വെറുക്കും. എന്നാൽ, അന്ത്യംവരെ സഹിച്ചുനിൽക്കുന്നവർ രക്ഷിക്കപ്പെടും.
You will be hated by all men for my name’s sake, but he who endures to the end will be saved.
23 ഒരിടത്തെ നിവാസികൾ നിങ്ങളെ ഉപദ്രവിക്കുമ്പോൾ മറ്റൊരിടത്തേക്ക് പലായനംചെയ്യുക. ഇസ്രായേൽ പട്ടണങ്ങളിലൂടെയുള്ള നിങ്ങളുടെ സഞ്ചാരം മനുഷ്യപുത്രന്റെ പുനരാഗമനത്തിലും പൂർത്തിയാക്കുകയില്ല, നിശ്ചയം എന്നു ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.
But when they persecute you in this city, flee into the next, for most certainly I tell you, you will not have gone through the cities of Israel until the Son of Man has come.
24 “ശിഷ്യൻ ഗുരുവിനെക്കാൾ ജ്ഞാനിയല്ല; ദാസൻ യജമാനനെക്കാൾ ശ്രേഷ്ഠനുമല്ല.
“A disciple is not above his rabbi, nor a servant above his lord.
25 ശിഷ്യർക്ക് അവരുടെ ഗുരുവിനെപ്പോലെയാകുന്നതു മതി; ദാസർക്ക് യജമാനനെപ്പോലെ ആകുന്നതും മതി. അവർ ഗൃഹനാഥനെ ബേൽസെബൂൽ എന്നു വിളിച്ചെങ്കിൽ, കുടുംബാംഗങ്ങളെ എത്രയധികം!
It is enough for the disciple that he be like his rabbi, and the servant like his lord. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebul, how much more those of his household!
26 “ആകയാൽ, നിങ്ങൾ അവരെ ഭയപ്പെടരുത്. വെളിപ്പെടുത്തപ്പെടാതെ മറച്ചുവെക്കാവുന്നതോ പ്രസിദ്ധമാക്കപ്പെടാതെ ഗോപ്യമാക്കി വെക്കാവുന്നതോ ആയ യാതൊന്നുമില്ല.
Therefore don’t be afraid of them, for there is nothing covered that will not be revealed, or hidden that will not be known.
27 ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോട് ഇരുളിൽ സംസാരിക്കുന്നത്, പകലിൽ പ്രസ്താവിക്കുക; നിങ്ങളുടെ ചെവിയിൽ മന്ത്രിച്ചതു പുരമുകളിൽനിന്ന് ഘോഷിക്കുക.
What I tell you in the darkness, speak in the light; and what you hear whispered in the ear, proclaim on the housetops.
28 നിങ്ങളുടെ ആത്മാവിനെ ഹനിക്കാൻ കഴിയാതെ ശരീരത്തെമാത്രം കൊല്ലുന്നവരെ ഭയപ്പെടരുത്; മറിച്ച്, ജീവനെയും ശരീരത്തെയും നരകത്തിലിട്ട് നശിപ്പിക്കാൻ കഴിയുന്ന ദൈവത്തെ ഭയപ്പെടുക. (Geenna g1067)
Don’t be afraid of those who kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul. Rather, fear him who is able to destroy both soul and body in Gehinnom. (Geenna g1067)
29 ഒരു രൂപയ്ക്ക് രണ്ട് കുരുവിയെ വിൽക്കുന്നില്ലയോ? നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാവ് അറിയാതെ അവയിൽ ഒന്നുപോലും നിലത്തു വീഴുകയില്ല.
“Aren’t two sparrows sold for an assarion coin? Not one of them falls to the ground apart from your Father’s will.
30 നിങ്ങളുടെ തലയിൽ എത്ര മുടിയുണ്ടെന്നുപോലും അവിടത്തേക്കറിയാം.
But the very hairs of your head are all numbered.
31 ആകയാൽ ഭയപ്പെടേണ്ട, അനവധി കുരുവികളെക്കാളും മൂല്യമേറിയവരല്ലോ നിങ്ങൾ.
Therefore don’t be afraid. You are of more value than many sparrows.
32 “മനുഷ്യരുടെമുമ്പിൽ എന്നെ അംഗീകരിച്ചുപറയുന്ന ഏതു വ്യക്തിയെയും എന്റെ സ്വർഗസ്ഥനായ പിതാവിന്റെ സന്നിധിയിൽ ഞാനും അംഗീകരിക്കും.
Everyone therefore who confesses me before men, I will also confess him before my Father who is in heaven.
33 മനുഷ്യരുടെമുമ്പിൽ എന്നെ നിരാകരിക്കുന്ന ഏതൊരു വ്യക്തിയെയും എന്റെ സ്വർഗസ്ഥനായ പിതാവിന്റെ സന്നിധിയിൽ ഞാനും നിരാകരിക്കും.
But whoever denies me before men, I will also deny him before my Father who is in heaven.
34 “ഭൂമിയിൽ സമാധാനം വരുത്തുക എന്ന ഉദ്ദേശ്യമാണ് എന്റെ വരവിനെന്ന് നിങ്ങൾ കരുതരുത്, സമാധാനമല്ല, വാൾ വരുത്താനാണ് ഞാൻ വന്നിരിക്കുന്നത്.
“Don’t think that I came to send peace on the earth. I didn’t come to send peace, but a sword.
35 ഞാൻ വന്നത് ഭിന്നിപ്പിക്കാനാണ്: “‘ഒരുവനെ തന്റെ പിതാവിനെതിരേയും മകളെ തന്റെ അമ്മയ്ക്കെതിരേയും മരുമകളെ തന്റെ അമ്മായിയമ്മയ്ക്കെതിരേയും,
For I came to set a man at odds against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law.
36 ഒരു മനുഷ്യന്റെ ശത്രുക്കൾ അയാളുടെ കുടുംബാംഗങ്ങൾതന്നെ ആയിരിക്കും.’
A man’s foes will be those of his own household.
37 “എന്നെക്കാളധികം സ്വന്തം പിതാവിനെയോ മാതാവിനെയോ സ്നേഹിക്കുന്നവർ എന്റേതായിരിക്കാൻ യോഗ്യരല്ല. എന്നെക്കാളധികം സ്വന്തം പുത്രനെയോ പുത്രിയെയോ സ്നേഹിക്കുന്നവരും എനിക്കു യോഗ്യരല്ല.
He who loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; and he who loves son or daughter more than me isn’t worthy of me.
38 സ്വന്തം ക്രൂശ് വഹിച്ചുകൊണ്ട് എന്നെ അനുഗമിക്കാത്തവരും എനിക്കു യോഗ്യരല്ല.
He who doesn’t take his cross and follow after me isn’t worthy of me.
39 സ്വന്തം ജീവനെ രക്ഷിക്കാൻ ശ്രമിക്കുന്നവർക്ക് അതു നഷ്ടമാകും; എന്റെ അനുയായി ആയതുനിമിത്തം സ്വജീവൻ നഷ്ടപ്പെടുത്തുന്നവർ അതു നേടുകതന്നെ ചെയ്യും.
He who seeks his life will lose it; and he who loses his life for my sake will find it.
40 “നിങ്ങളെ സ്വീകരിക്കുന്നവർ എന്നെ സ്വീകരിക്കുന്നു; എന്നെ സ്വീകരിക്കുന്നവരോ എന്നെ അയച്ച പിതാവിനെ സ്വീകരിക്കുന്നു.
“He who receives you receives me, and he who receives me receives him who sent me.
41 ഒരു പ്രവാചകനെ, പ്രവാചകൻ എന്ന കാരണത്താൽ സ്വീകരിക്കുന്ന വ്യക്തിക്ക്, ഒരു പ്രവാചകന് ലഭിക്കുന്ന പ്രതിഫലം ലഭിക്കും; ഒരു നീതിനിഷ്ഠനെ നീതിനിഷ്ഠൻ എന്ന കാരണത്താൽ സ്വീകരിക്കുന്ന വ്യക്തിക്ക്, ഒരു നീതിനിഷ്ഠന് ലഭിക്കുന്ന പ്രതിഫലം ലഭിക്കും.
He who receives a prophet in the name of a prophet will receive a prophet’s reward. He who receives a righteous man in the name of a righteous man will receive a righteous man’s reward.
42 എന്റെ ശിഷ്യൻ എന്ന കാരണത്താൽ ഈ ചെറിയവരിൽ ഒരാൾക്ക് ഒരു പാത്രം തണുത്ത വെള്ളമെങ്കിലും കൊടുക്കുന്നയാൾക്ക് തന്റെ പ്രതിഫലം ഒരിക്കലും നഷ്ടമാകുകയില്ല, നിശ്ചയം, എന്നു ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.”
Whoever gives one of these little ones just a cup of cold water to drink in the name of a disciple, most certainly I tell you, he will in no way lose his reward.”
