മർക്കൊസ് 12
1 വീണ്ടും അദ്ദേഹം അവരോട് സാദൃശ്യകഥകളിലൂടെ സംസാരിച്ചുതുടങ്ങി: “ഒരു മനുഷ്യൻ ഒരു മുന്തിരിത്തോപ്പ് നട്ടുപിടിപ്പിച്ചു. അയാൾ അതിനുചുറ്റും വേലികെട്ടി, അതിൽ മുന്തിരിചവിട്ടാൻ കുഴികുഴിച്ചു, ഒരു കാവൽഗോപുരവും പണിതു. അതിനുശേഷം ആ മുന്തിരിത്തോപ്പ് ചില കർഷകർക്ക് പാട്ടത്തിനേൽപ്പിച്ചിട്ട്, വിദേശത്തുപോയി.
Then He began to speak to them in figurative language. "There was once a man," He said, "who planted a vineyard, fenced it round, dug a pit for the wine-tank, and built a strong lodge. Then he let the place to vine-dressers and went abroad.
2 വിളവെടുപ്പുകാലം ആയപ്പോൾ, പാട്ടക്കർഷകരിൽനിന്ന് മുന്തിരിത്തോപ്പിലെ വിളവിൽ തനിക്കുള്ള ഓഹരി ശേഖരിക്കാൻ അദ്ദേഹം അവരുടെ അടുത്തേക്ക് ഒരു ദാസനെ അയച്ചു.
At vintage-time he sent one of his servants to receive from the vine-dressers a share of the grapes.
3 എന്നാൽ, അവർ അവനെ പിടിച്ച് മർദിക്കുകയും വെറുംകൈയോടെ തിരികെ അയയ്ക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു.
But they seized him, beat him cruelly and sent him away empty-handed.
4 മുന്തിരിത്തോപ്പിന്റെ ഉടമസ്ഥൻ മറ്റൊരു ദാസനെ അവരുടെ അടുക്കൽ അയച്ചു; അവർ ആ മനുഷ്യന്റെ തലയിൽ മുറിവേൽപ്പിക്കുകയും അപമാനിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു.
Again he sent to them another servant: and as for him, they wounded him in the head and treated him shamefully.
5 അദ്ദേഹം വീണ്ടും മറ്റൊരാളെ അയച്ചു; അയാളെ അവർ കൊന്നുകളഞ്ഞു. മറ്റു പലരെയും ഇതുപോലെ അദ്ദേഹം അയച്ചു; അവരിൽ ചിലരെ അവർ അടിക്കുകയും ചിലരെ കൊല്ലുകയും ചെയ്തു.
Yet a third he sent, and him they killed. And he sent many besides, and them also they ill-treated, beating some and killing others.
6 “അദ്ദേഹത്തിന് ഇനി ഒരാളെമാത്രമേ അയയ്ക്കാൻ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നുള്ളൂ—താൻ സ്നേഹിച്ച മകൻ. ‘എന്റെ മകനെ അവർ ആദരിക്കും,’ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞ് അവസാനം അദ്ദേഹം അവനെ അയച്ചു.
He had still one left whom he could send, a dearly-loved son: him last of all he sent, saying, "'They will treat my son with respect.'
7 “എന്നാൽ ആ കർഷകർ മകനെ കണ്ടപ്പോൾ പരസ്പരം ഇങ്ങനെ പറഞ്ഞു, ‘ഇവനാണ് അവകാശി; വരൂ, നമുക്ക് ഇവനെ കൊന്നുകളയാം; എങ്കിൽ ഇതിനെല്ലാം നാം അവകാശികളാകും.’
"But those men--the vine-dressers--said to one another, "'Here is the heir: come, let us kill him, and then the property will one day be ours.'
8 അങ്ങനെ അവർ അവനെ പിടിച്ചു കൊന്ന്, മുന്തിരിത്തോപ്പിന് വെളിയിൽ എറിഞ്ഞുകളഞ്ഞു.
"So they took him and killed him, and flung his body outside the vineyard.
9 “മുന്തിരിത്തോപ്പിന്റെ ഉടമസ്ഥൻ ഇനി എങ്ങനെയാണ് പ്രതികരിക്കുക? അദ്ദേഹം വന്ന് ആ പാട്ടക്കർഷകരെ വധിച്ച് മുന്തിരിത്തോപ്പ് വേറെ ആളുകളെ ഏൽപ്പിക്കും.
What, therefore, will the owner of the vineyard do?" "He will come and put the vine-dressers to death," they said; "and will give the vineyard to others."
10 “‘ശില്പികൾ ഉപേക്ഷിച്ച ആ കല്ലുതന്നെ മൂലക്കല്ലായിത്തീർന്നു; ഇത് കർത്താവ് ചെയ്തു; നമ്മുടെ ദൃഷ്ടിയിൽ ആശ്ചര്യകരവുമായിരിക്കുന്നു,’ എന്ന തിരുവെഴുത്ത് നിങ്ങൾ വായിച്ചിട്ടില്ലേ?”
"Have you not read even this passage," He added, "'The stone which the builders rejected has become the Cornerstone:
this Cornerstone came from the Lord, and is wonderful in our esteem?'"
12 യേശു ഈ സാദൃശ്യകഥ തങ്ങൾക്കു വിരോധമായിട്ടാണ് പറഞ്ഞതെന്നു മനസ്സിലാക്കിയിട്ട്, പുരോഹിതമുഖ്യന്മാരും വേദജ്ഞരും സമുദായനേതാക്കന്മാരും അദ്ദേഹത്തെ ബന്ധനസ്ഥനാക്കാൻ മാർഗം ആരാഞ്ഞു. എന്നാൽ അവർ ജനരോഷം ഭയപ്പെട്ട് അദ്ദേഹത്തെ വിട്ട് അവിടെനിന്നു പോയി.
And they kept looking out for an opportunity to seize Him, but were afraid of the people; for they saw that in this parable He had referred to them. So they left Him and went away.
13 പിന്നീട് അവർ യേശുവിനെ അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ വാക്കുകളിൽ കുടുക്കുന്നതിനു ചില പരീശന്മാരെയും ഹെരോദ്യരെയും അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ അയച്ചു.
Their next step was to send to Him some of the Pharisees and of Herod's partisans to entrap Him in conversation.
14 അവർ വന്ന് അദ്ദേഹത്തോട്: “ഗുരോ, അങ്ങ് സത്യസന്ധനാണ്; അങ്ങ് പക്ഷപാതം കാണിക്കുന്നതുമില്ല. അതുകൊണ്ട് ആർക്കും അങ്ങയെ സ്വാധീനിക്കാൻ കഴിയുകയില്ല. ദൈവികമാർഗം അങ്ങ് സത്യസന്ധമായിമാത്രം പഠിപ്പിക്കുന്നു എന്നും ഞങ്ങൾക്കറിയാം” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞിട്ട്, “റോമൻ കൈസർക്ക് നികുതി കൊടുക്കുന്നതു ശരിയാണോ?
So they came to Him. "Rabbi," they said, "we know that you are a truthful man and you do not fear any one; for you do not recognize human distinctions, but teach God's way truly. Is it allowable to pay poll-tax to Caesar, or not?
15 ഞങ്ങൾ കൊടുക്കണമോ കൊടുക്കാതിരിക്കണമോ?” എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു. യേശു അവരുടെ കൗശലം മനസ്സിലാക്കിക്കൊണ്ട് അവരോടു ചോദിച്ചു: “നിങ്ങൾ എന്നെ കുടുക്കാൻ തുനിയുന്നതെന്തിന്? ഒരു റോമൻ നാണയം കൊണ്ടുവരൂ, അതു ഞാൻ നോക്കട്ടെ.”
Shall we pay, or shall we refuse to pay?" But He, knowing their hypocrisy, replied, "Why try to ensnare me? Bring me a shilling for me to look at."
16 അവർ ഒരു റോമൻ നാണയം കൊണ്ടുവന്നു. യേശു അവരോട്, “ഇതിൽ മുദ്രണം ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്ന രൂപവും ലിഖിതവും ആരുടേത്?” എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു. “കൈസറുടേത്” അവർ മറുപടി പറഞ്ഞു.
They brought one; and He asked them, "Whose is this likeness and this inscription?" "Caesar's," they replied.
17 അപ്പോൾ യേശു, “കൈസർക്ക് നൽകേണ്ടത് കൈസർക്കും ദൈവത്തിന് നൽകേണ്ടത് ദൈവത്തിനും നൽകുക” എന്ന് അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞു. അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ മറുപടികേട്ട് അവർ വിസ്മയിച്ചു.
"What is Caesar's," replied Jesus, "pay to Caesar--and what is God's, pay to God." And they wondered exceedingly at Him.
18 പുനരുത്ഥാനം ഇല്ലെന്നു വാദിക്കുന്ന സദൂക്യർ ഒരു ചോദ്യവുമായി യേശുവിന്റെ അടുക്കൽവന്നു.
Then came to Him a party of Sadducees, a sect which denies that there is any Resurrection; and they proceeded to question Him.
19 അവർ അദ്ദേഹത്തോട് ഇങ്ങനെ ചോദിച്ചു: “ഗുരോ, ഒരാളുടെ സഹോദരൻ മക്കളില്ലാതെ മരിച്ചുപോകുകയും ഭാര്യ ശേഷിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നെങ്കിൽ അയാൾ ആ വിധവയെ വിവാഹംചെയ്തു സഹോദരനുവേണ്ടി മക്കളെ ജനിപ്പിക്കണമെന്നു മോശ കൽപ്പിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ടല്ലോ.
"Rabbi," they said, "Moses made it a law for us: 'If a man's brother should die and leave a wife, but no child, the man shall marry the widow and raise up a family for his brother.'
20 ഒരിടത്ത് ഏഴ് സഹോദരന്മാർ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു. ഒന്നാമൻ വിവാഹംകഴിച്ചു, മക്കളില്ലാത്തവനായി മരിച്ചു.
There were once seven brothers, the eldest of whom married a wife, but at his death left no family.
21 രണ്ടാമൻ ആ വിധവയെ വിവാഹംചെയ്തു; അയാളും മക്കളില്ലാതെ മരിച്ചു. മൂന്നാമനും അങ്ങനെതന്നെ സംഭവിച്ചു.
The second married her, and died, leaving no family; and the third did the same.
22 ഇങ്ങനെ ഏഴുപേരും മക്കളില്ലാത്തവരായി മരിച്ചു; ഒടുവിൽ ആ സ്ത്രീയും മരിച്ചു.
And so did the rest of the seven, all dying childless. Finally the woman also died.
23 അങ്ങനെയെങ്കിൽ പുനരുത്ഥിതജീവിതത്തിൽ അവൾ ആരുടെ ഭാര്യയായിരിക്കും? അവർ ഏഴുപേരും അവളെ വിവാഹംകഴിച്ചിരുന്നല്ലോ!”
At the Resurrection whose wife will she be? For they all seven married her."
24 അപ്പോൾ യേശു അവരോട് ഇങ്ങനെ ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു: “തിരുവെഴുത്തുകളും ദൈവശക്തിയും അറിയാത്തതുകൊണ്ടല്ലേ നിങ്ങൾക്ക് തെറ്റുപറ്റിയിരിക്കുന്നത്?
"Is not this the cause of your error," replied Jesus--"your ignorance alike of the Scriptures and of the power of God?
25 മരിച്ചവർ ഉയിർത്തെഴുന്നേൽക്കുമ്പോൾ വിവാഹംകഴിക്കുകയോ വിവാഹംകഴിപ്പിച്ചയയ്ക്കുകയോ ചെയ്യുന്നില്ല; അവർ സ്വർഗീയദൂതന്മാരെപ്പോലെ ആയിരിക്കും.
For when they have risen from among the dead, men do not marry and women are not given in marriage, but they are as angels are in Heaven.
26 എന്നാൽ, മരിച്ചവരുടെ പുനരുത്ഥാനത്തെക്കുറിച്ചോ: മോശയുടെ പുസ്തകത്തിൽ മുൾപ്പടർപ്പിനെക്കുറിച്ചു വിവരിക്കുന്നിടത്ത് ‘ഞാൻ അബ്രാഹാമിന്റെ ദൈവവും യിസ്ഹാക്കിന്റെ ദൈവവും യാക്കോബിന്റെ ദൈവവും ആകുന്നു’ എന്നു ദൈവം മോശയോട് അരുളിച്ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നതു നിങ്ങൾ വായിച്ചിട്ടില്ലേ?
But as to the dead, that they rise to life, have you never read in the Book of Moses, in the passage about the Bush, how God said to him, 'I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob?'
27 അവിടന്ന് മരിച്ചവരുടെ ദൈവമല്ല, പിന്നെയോ, ജീവനുള്ളവരുടെ ദൈവമാണ്. നിങ്ങൾക്ക് വലിയ അബദ്ധം പിണഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു.”
He is not the God of dead, but of living men. You are in grave error."
28 അവർ ചർച്ചചെയ്തുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നത് അവിടെ വന്ന വേദജ്ഞരിൽ ഒരാൾ കേട്ടു. യേശു അവർക്കു കൊടുത്ത നല്ല മറുപടി ശ്രദ്ധിച്ചിട്ട് അയാൾ യേശുവിനോട്, “കൽപ്പനകളിൽ ഏറ്റവും പ്രാധാന്യമുള്ളത് ഏതാണ്?” എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.
Then one of the Scribes, who had heard them disputing and well knew that Jesus had given them an answer to the point, and a forcible one, came forward and asked Him, "Which is the chief of all the Commandments?"
29 അതിന് യേശു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു, “ഇതാണ് ഏറ്റവും പ്രധാനപ്പെട്ട കൽപ്പന: ‘ഇസ്രായേലേ, കേൾക്കുക, കർത്താവ് നമ്മുടെ ദൈവം, കർത്താവ് ഏകൻതന്നെ;
"The chief Commandment," replied Jesus, "is this: 'Hear, O Israel! The Lord our God is one Lord;
30 നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ കർത്താവിനെ നീ സമ്പൂർണഹൃദയത്താലും സമ്പൂർണാത്മാവിനാലും സമ്പൂർണമനസ്സാലും സമ്പൂർണശക്തിയാലും സ്നേഹിക്കണം.’
and thou shalt love the Lord thy God with thy whole heart, thy whole soul, thy whole mind, and thy whole strength.'
31 രണ്ടാമത്തേത്, ‘നീ നിന്നെ സ്നേഹിക്കുന്നതുപോലെതന്നെ നിന്റെ അയൽവാസിയെയും സ്നേഹിക്കണം’ എന്നതാണ്. ഇവയെക്കാൾ പ്രാധാന്യമുള്ള കൽപ്പന വേറെ ഇല്ല.”
"The second is this: 'Thou shalt love thy fellow man as thou lovest thyself.' "Other Commandment greater than these there is none."
32 “ഗുരോ, അങ്ങു പറഞ്ഞതു ശരി; ദൈവം ഏകനെന്നും അവിടന്നല്ലാതെ മറ്റൊരു ദൈവമില്ലെന്നും അങ്ങു പറഞ്ഞതു ശരിതന്നെ.
So the Scribe said to Him, "Rightly, in very truth, Rabbi, have you said that He stands alone, and there is none but He;
33 സമ്പൂർണഹൃദയത്താലും സമ്പൂർണമനസ്സാലും സമ്പൂർണശക്തിയാലും ദൈവത്തെ സ്നേഹിക്കുന്നതും നീ നിന്നെ സ്നേഹിക്കുന്നതുപോലെതന്നെ നിന്റെ അയൽവാസിയെ സ്നേഹിക്കുന്നതും എല്ലാ ഹോമയാഗങ്ങളെക്കാളും ബലികളെക്കാളും അധികം പ്രാധാന്യമുള്ളതാണ്” എന്നായിരുന്നു അയാളുടെ മറുപടി.
and To love Him with all one's heart, with all one's understanding, and with all one's strength, and to love one's fellow man no less than oneself, is far better than all our whole burnt-offerings and sacrifices."
34 അയാളുടെ വിവേകപൂർവമായ മറുപടികേട്ടിട്ട് യേശു, “നീ ദൈവരാജ്യത്തിൽനിന്ന് അകലെയല്ല” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. ഇതിനുശേഷം അദ്ദേഹത്തോട് കൂടുതൽ ചോദ്യങ്ങൾ ചോദിക്കാൻ ആർക്കും ധൈര്യം ഉണ്ടായില്ല.
Perceiving that the Scribe had answered wisely Jesus said to him, "You are not far from the Kingdom of God." No one from that time forward ventured to put any question to Him.
35 പിന്നീടൊരിക്കൽ യേശു ദൈവാലയാങ്കണത്തിൽ വന്നുചേർന്ന ജനത്തെ ഉപദേശിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നപ്പോൾ ഇങ്ങനെ ചോദിച്ചു: “ദാവീദിന്റെ പുത്രനാണ് ക്രിസ്തു എന്നു വേദജ്ഞർ പറയുന്നത് എങ്ങനെ?
But, while teaching in the Temple, Jesus asked, "How is it the Scribes say that the Christ is a son of David?
36 ദാവീദ് പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവിനാൽ പ്രേരിതനായി, “‘ഞാൻ നിന്റെ ശത്രുക്കളെ നിന്റെ ചവിട്ടടിയിലാക്കുംവരെ നീ എന്റെ വലതുഭാഗത്ത് ഉപവിഷ്ടനാകുക,’ എന്നു കർത്താവ് എന്റെ കർത്താവിനോട് അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു എന്നു പ്രസ്താവിച്ചല്ലോ!
David himself said, taught by the Holy Spirit, "'The Lord said to my Lord, Sit at My right hand, until I have made thy foes a footstool under thy feet.'
37 ഇങ്ങനെ ദാവീദുതന്നെ ക്രിസ്തുവിനെ ‘കർത്താവേ’ എന്നു സംബോധന ചെയ്യുന്നെങ്കിൽ ക്രിസ്തു ദാവീദിന്റെ പുത്രൻ ആകുന്നതെങ്ങനെ?” ആ വലിയ ജനക്കൂട്ടം അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ വാക്കുകൾ ആനന്ദത്തോടെ കേട്ടു.
"David himself calls Him 'Lord:' how then can He be his son?" And the mass of people found pleasure in listening to Jesus.
38 യേശു തുടർന്ന് ഉപദേശിക്കവേ, ഇങ്ങനെ പറഞ്ഞു: “വേദജ്ഞരെ സൂക്ഷിക്കുക. അവർ സ്വന്തം പദവി പ്രകടമാക്കുന്ന നീണ്ട പുറങ്കുപ്പായം ധരിച്ചുകൊണ്ടു ചന്തസ്ഥലങ്ങളിൽ നടന്ന് അഭിവാദനം സ്വീകരിക്കാൻ ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നു.
Moreover in the course of His teaching He said, "Be on your guard against the Scribes who like to walk about in long robes and to be bowed to in places of public resort,
39 പള്ളികളിൽ പ്രധാന ഇരിപ്പിടങ്ങളും വിരുന്നുകളിൽ ആദരണീയർക്കായി വേർതിരിച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന ഇരിപ്പിടവും അവർ മോഹിക്കുന്നു.
and to occupy the best seats in the synagogues and at dinner parties,
40 അവർ വിധവകളുടെ സമ്പത്ത് നിർലജ്ജം അപഹരിച്ചിട്ട് കേവലം പ്രകടനാത്മകമായ നീണ്ട പ്രാർഥനകൾ ചൊല്ലുകയുംചെയ്യുന്നു. അങ്ങനെയുള്ളവർ അതിഭീകരമായി ശിക്ഷിക്കപ്പെടും.”
and who swallow up the property of widows and then mask their wickedness by making long prayers: these men will receive far heavier punishment."
41 പിന്നീട് യേശു വഴിപാടുകൾ അർപ്പിക്കുന്ന സ്ഥലത്തിനെതിരേ ഇരുന്നുകൊണ്ട്, ജനക്കൂട്ടം ദൈവാലയഭണ്ഡാരത്തിൽ കാണിക്ക ഇടുന്നതു ശ്രദ്ധിച്ചു. ധനികർ പലരും വൻതുകകൾ ഇട്ടു.
Having taken a seat opposite the Treasury, He observed how the people were dropping money into the Treasury, and that many of the wealthy threw in large sums.
42 എന്നാൽ ദരിദ്രയായ ഒരു വിധവ വന്നു വളരെ ചെറിയ രണ്ട് ചെമ്പുനാണയങ്ങൾ ഇട്ടു. അതിന് ഒരു പൈസയുടെ വിലമാത്രമേ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നുള്ളൂ.
But there came one poor widow and dropped in two farthings, equal in value to a halfpenny.
43 യേശു ശിഷ്യന്മാരെ അടുക്കൽ വിളിച്ച് അവരോട്, “ഭണ്ഡാരത്തിൽ മറ്റെല്ലാവരും ഇട്ടതിലും അധികം ദരിദ്രയായ ഈ വിധവ ഇട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു, നിശ്ചയം എന്നു ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.
So He called His disciples to Him and said, "In solemn truth I tell you that this widow, poor as she is, has thrown in more than all the other contributors to the Treasury;
44 മറ്റെല്ലാവരും തങ്ങളുടെ സമ്പൽസമൃദ്ധിയിൽനിന്നാണ് അർപ്പിച്ചത്; ഇവളോ, സ്വന്തം ദാരിദ്ര്യത്തിൽനിന്ന്, തന്റെ ഉപജീവനത്തിനുള്ള വക മുഴുവൻ അർപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
for they have all contributed out of what they could well spare, but she out of her need has thrown in all she possessed--all she had to live on."
