മർക്കൊസ് 10
1 യേശു കഫാർനഹൂം വിട്ട് യോർദാൻനദിയുടെ അക്കരെയുള്ള യെഹൂദ്യപ്രവിശ്യയിലേക്ക് യാത്രതിരിച്ചു. ജനക്കൂട്ടം വീണ്ടും അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ ചുറ്റും തടിച്ചുകൂടി; പതിവുപോലെ അദ്ദേഹം അവരെ പിന്നെയും ഉപദേശിച്ചു.
And rising up, he went from there into the area of Judea beyond the Jordan. And again, the crowd came together before him. And just as he was accustomed to do, again he taught them.
2 ചില പരീശന്മാർ വന്ന്, “ഒരു പുരുഷൻ തന്റെ ഭാര്യയെ ഉപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നതിന് നിയമം അനുവദിക്കുന്നുണ്ടോ?” എന്ന് അദ്ദേഹത്തെ പരീക്ഷിക്കുന്നതിനായി ചോദിച്ചു.
And approaching, the Pharisees questioned him, testing him: “Is it lawful for a man to dismiss his wife?”
3 അദ്ദേഹം മറുപടിയായി, “മോശ നിങ്ങളോടു കൽപ്പിച്ചത് എന്താണ്?” എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.
But in response, he said to them, “What did Moses instruct you?”
4 “വിവാഹമോചനപത്രം എഴുതിയിട്ട് ഭാര്യയെ ഉപേക്ഷിക്കാൻ മോശ അനുവദിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു,” എന്ന് അവർ പറഞ്ഞു.
And they said, “Moses gave permission to write a bill of divorce and to dismiss her.”
5 അതിന് യേശു മറുപടി പറഞ്ഞത്: “നിങ്ങളുടെ പിടിവാശി നിമിത്തമാണ് മോശ ഈ കൽപ്പന നിങ്ങൾക്ക് എഴുതിത്തന്നത്.
But Jesus responded by saying: “It was due to the hardness of your heart that he wrote that precept for you.
6 എന്നാൽ, ദൈവം സൃഷ്ടിയുടെ ആരംഭത്തിൽ ‘പുരുഷനും സ്ത്രീയുമായിട്ടാണ് മനുഷ്യസൃഷ്ടി ചെയ്തത്.’
But from the beginning of creation, God made them male and female.
7 ‘ഇക്കാരണത്താൽ ഒരു പുരുഷൻ മാതാപിതാക്കളെ വിട്ടുപിരിഞ്ഞ് തന്റെ ഭാര്യയോടു സംയോജിക്കും.
Because of this, a man shall leave behind his father and mother, and he shall cling to his wife.
8 അവരിരുവരും ഒരു ശരീരമായിത്തീരും.’ എന്നു നിങ്ങൾ വായിച്ചിട്ടില്ലേ? അതിനാൽ അവർ ഇനി രണ്ടല്ല, ഒരു ശരീരമാണ്.
And these two shall be one in flesh. And so, they are now, not two, but one flesh.
9 അതുകൊണ്ട് ദൈവം സംയോജിപ്പിച്ചതിനെ മനുഷ്യൻ വേർപിരിക്കരുത്.”
Therefore, what God has joined together, let no man separate.”
10 അവർ വീട്ടിൽ തിരിച്ചെത്തിയപ്പോൾ ശിഷ്യന്മാർ ഇതേപ്പറ്റി യേശുവിനോടു വീണ്ടും ചോദിച്ചു.
And again, in the house, his disciples questioned him about the same thing.
11 അദ്ദേഹം പറഞ്ഞു: “സ്വന്തം ഭാര്യയെ ഉപേക്ഷിച്ച് മറ്റൊരു സ്ത്രീയെ വിവാഹംചെയ്യുന്നവൻ ആ ഭാര്യയ്ക്ക് എതിരായി വ്യഭിചാരം ചെയ്യുന്നു.
And he said to them: “Whoever dismisses his wife, and marries another, commits adultery against her.
12 ഭർത്താവിനെ ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചു മറ്റൊരാളെ വിവാഹംചെയ്യുന്നവളും വ്യഭിചാരം ചെയ്യുകയാണ്.”
And if a wife dismisses her husband, and is married to another, she commits adultery.”
13 യേശു കൈവെച്ച് അനുഗ്രഹിക്കേണ്ടതിന് ചില ആളുകൾ ശിശുക്കളെ അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ കൊണ്ടുവന്നു. എന്നാൽ ശിഷ്യന്മാർ അവരെ ശകാരിച്ചു.
And they brought to him the little children, so that he might touch them. But the disciples admonished those who brought them.
14 ഇതുകണ്ട് യേശു ദേഷ്യത്തോടെ, “ശിശുക്കളെ എന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വരാൻ അനുവദിക്കുക; അവരെ തടയരുത്; കാരണം ദൈവരാജ്യം ഇങ്ങനെയുള്ളവർക്കു സ്വന്തം!
But when Jesus saw this, he took offense, and he said to them: “Allow the little ones to come to me, and do not prohibit them. For of such as these is the kingdom of God.
15 ഒരു ശിശുവിനെപ്പോലെ ദൈവരാജ്യത്തെ സ്വീകരിക്കാത്ത ആരും ഒരുനാളും അതിൽ പ്രവേശിക്കുകയില്ല, നിശ്ചയം, എന്നു ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
Amen I say to you, whoever will not accept the kingdom of God like a little child, will not enter into it.”
16 തുടർന്ന് അദ്ദേഹം ശിശുക്കളെ കൈകളിൽ എടുത്ത് അവരുടെമേൽ കൈവെച്ച് അവരെ അനുഗ്രഹിച്ചു.
And embracing them, and laying his hands upon them, he blessed them.
17 യേശു അവിടെനിന്ന് യാത്ര പുറപ്പെടുമ്പോൾ ഒരു മനുഷ്യൻ ഓടിവന്ന് അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെമുമ്പിൽ മുട്ടുകുത്തി, “നല്ല ഗുരോ, എന്തു ചെയ്താൽ എനിക്കു നിത്യജീവൻ ലഭ്യമാകും?” എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു. (aiōnios g166)
And when he had departed on the way, a certain one, running up and kneeling before him, asked him, “Good Teacher, what shall I do, so that I may secure eternal life?” (aiōnios g166)
18 അതിനുത്തരമായി യേശു, “നീ എന്നെ ‘നല്ലവൻ’ എന്നു വിളിക്കുന്നതെന്ത്? ദൈവം ഒരുവനല്ലാതെ നല്ലവൻ ആരുമില്ല.
But Jesus said to him, “Why call me good? No one is good except the one God.
19 ‘കൊലപാതകം ചെയ്യരുത്, വ്യഭിചാരം ചെയ്യരുത്, മോഷ്ടിക്കരുത്, കള്ളസാക്ഷ്യം പറയരുത്, ചതിക്കരുത്, നിന്റെ മാതാപിതാക്കളെ ബഹുമാനിക്കുക’ എന്നീ കൽപ്പനകൾ നിനക്ക് അറിയാമല്ലോ” എന്ന് അയാളോടു പറഞ്ഞു.
You know the precepts: “Do not commit adultery. Do not kill. Do not steal. Do not speak false testimony. Do not deceive. Honor your father and mother.”
20 “ഗുരോ, ഞാൻ എന്റെ ബാല്യംമുതൽതന്നെ ഈ കൽപ്പനകൾ എല്ലാം പാലിച്ചുപോരുന്നു” അയാൾ പറഞ്ഞു.
But in response, he said to him, “Teacher, all these I have observed from my youth.”
21 യേശു അയാളെ നോക്കി; അയാളിൽ ആർദ്രത തോന്നിയിട്ട് ഇപ്രകാരം പറഞ്ഞു: “ഒരൊറ്റ കുറവു നിനക്കുണ്ട്. നീ പോയി നിനക്കുള്ളതെല്ലാം വിറ്റ് ദരിദ്രർക്ക് കൊടുക്കുക. എന്നാൽ, സ്വർഗത്തിൽ നിനക്കു നിക്ഷേപം ഉണ്ടാകും. അതിനുശേഷം വരിക, എന്റെ അനുഗാമിയാകുക.”
Then Jesus, gazing at him, loved him, and he said to him: “One thing is lacking to you. Go, sell whatever you have, and give to the poor, and then you will have treasure in heaven. And come, follow me.”
22 ഇതു കേട്ട് അയാളുടെ മുഖം വാടി. അയാൾക്ക് വളരെ വസ്തുവകകൾ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു ദുഃഖിതനായി അവിടെനിന്ന് പോയി.
But he went away grieving, having been greatly saddened by the word. For he had many possessions.
23 യേശു ചുറ്റും നോക്കിയിട്ടു തന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാരോട്, “ധനികർ ദൈവരാജ്യത്തിൽ പ്രവേശിക്കുകയെന്നത് എത്രയോ വിഷമകരം!” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
And Jesus, looking around, said to his disciples, “How difficult it is for those who have riches to enter into the kingdom of God!”
24 ശിഷ്യന്മാർ അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ വാക്കുകൾ കേട്ട് വിസ്മയിച്ചു. യേശു വീണ്ടും പറഞ്ഞു: “കുഞ്ഞുങ്ങളേ, ദൈവരാജ്യത്തിൽ പ്രവേശിക്കുകയെന്നത് എത്രയോ വിഷമകരം!
And the disciples were astonished at his words. But Jesus, answering again, said to them: “Little sons, how difficult it is for those who trust in money to enter into the kingdom of God!
25 ധനികർ ദൈവരാജ്യത്തിൽ പ്രവേശിക്കുന്നതിനെക്കാൾ, ഒട്ടകം സൂചിക്കുഴയിലൂടെ കടക്കുന്നതാണ് കൂടുതൽ എളുപ്പം.”
It is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle, than for the rich to enter into the kingdom of God.”
26 ശിഷ്യന്മാർ അത്യധികം വിസ്മയത്തോടെ പരസ്പരം ചോദിച്ചു: “എന്നാൽ രക്ഷിക്കപ്പെടാൻ ആർക്കു കഴിയും?”
And they wondered even more, saying among themselves, “Who, then, can be saved?”
27 യേശു അവരെ നോക്കി, “മനുഷ്യർക്ക് ഇത് അസാധ്യം; എന്നാൽ ദൈവത്തിന് അങ്ങനെയല്ല; ദൈവത്തിനു സകലതും സാധ്യമാണ്” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
And Jesus, gazing at them, said: “With men it is impossible; but not with God. For with God all things are possible.”
28 അപ്പോൾ പത്രോസ് യേശുവിനോട്, “ഇതാ, ഞങ്ങൾ സകലതും ഉപേക്ഷിച്ച് അങ്ങയെ അനുഗമിച്ചല്ലോ” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
And Peter began to say to him, “Behold, we have left all things and have followed you.”
29 യേശു മറുപടി പറഞ്ഞത്: “സത്യമായി ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു; എനിക്കും സുവിശേഷത്തിനുംവേണ്ടി വീട്, സഹോദരന്മാർ, സഹോദരിമാർ, മാതാവ്, പിതാവ്, മക്കൾ, പുരയിടങ്ങൾ എന്നിവ ത്യജിച്ച ഏതൊരാൾക്കും പീഡനങ്ങൾ സഹിക്കേണ്ടിവരുമെങ്കിലും,
In response, Jesus said: “Amen I say to you, There is no one who has left behind house, or brothers, or sisters, or father, or mother, or children, or land, for my sake and for the Gospel,
31 എങ്കിലും ഇന്ന് അഗ്രഗാമികളായിരിക്കുന്ന പലരും അന്ന് ഏറ്റവും പിന്നിലുള്ളവരും ഇന്ന് ഏറ്റവും പിന്നിലുള്ള പലരും അന്ന് അഗ്രഗാമികളുമായിത്തീരും.”
But many of the first shall be last, and the last shall be first.”
32 അവർ ജെറുശലേമിലേക്കു യാത്രതുടർന്നു. യേശു അവർക്കുമുമ്പിൽ നടന്നു. ശിഷ്യന്മാർക്കു വിസ്മയവും അനുഗമിച്ചവർക്കു ഭയവും ഉണ്ടായി. അദ്ദേഹം പന്ത്രണ്ട് ശിഷ്യന്മാരെ വീണ്ടും അടുക്കൽവിളിച്ചു തനിക്കു സംഭവിക്കാൻ പോകുന്നതെന്താണെന്ന് അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞു:
Now they were on the way ascending to Jerusalem. And Jesus went ahead of them, and they were astonished. And those following him were afraid. And again, taking aside the twelve, he began to tell them what was about to happen to him.
33 “നോക്കൂ, നാം ജെറുശലേമിലേക്കു പോകുകയാണ്; മനുഷ്യപുത്രൻ പുരോഹിതമുഖ്യന്മാരുടെയും വേദജ്ഞരുടെയും കൈകളിൽ ഏൽപ്പിക്കപ്പെടും. അവർ മനുഷ്യപുത്രനെ വധിക്കാനായി വിധിച്ചശേഷം റോമാക്കാരെ ഏൽപ്പിക്കും.
“For behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of man will be handed over to the leaders of the priests, and to the scribes, and the elders. And they will condemn him to death, and they will hand him over to the Gentiles.
34 അവർ അദ്ദേഹത്തെ പരിഹസിക്കുകയും അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെമേൽ തുപ്പുകയും ചമ്മട്ടികൊണ്ട് അടിക്കുകയും വധിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യും. എന്നാൽ, മൂന്ന് ദിവസത്തിനുശേഷം മനുഷ്യപുത്രൻ ഉയിർത്തെഴുന്നേൽക്കും.”
And they will mock him, and spit on him, and scourge him, and put him to death. And on the third day, he will rise again.”
35 സെബെദിയുടെ മക്കളായ യാക്കോബും യോഹന്നാനും യേശുവിന്റെ അടുക്കൽവന്നു. അവർ അദ്ദേഹത്തോട്, “ഗുരോ, ഞങ്ങൾ അങ്ങയോടു ചോദിക്കുന്നത് അങ്ങു ഞങ്ങൾക്കു ചെയ്തുതരണമെന്നു ഞങ്ങൾ ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നു” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
And James and John, the sons of Zebedee, drew near to him, saying, “Teacher, we wish that whatever we will ask, you would do for us.”
36 “ഞാൻ നിങ്ങൾക്കുവേണ്ടി എന്തു ചെയ്യണമെന്നാണു നിങ്ങൾ ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നത്?” അദ്ദേഹം ചോദിച്ചു.
But he said to them, “What do you want me to do for you?”
37 അതിന് അവർ മറുപടി പറഞ്ഞു: “അങ്ങയുടെ മഹത്ത്വത്തിൽ, ഞങ്ങളിൽ ഒരാളെ അങ്ങയുടെ വലത്തും മറ്റേയാളെ ഇടത്തും ഇരിക്കാൻ അനുവദിക്കണമേ.”
And they said, “Grant to us that we may sit, one at your right and the other at your left, in your glory.”
38 യേശു അവരോട്, “നിങ്ങൾ ആവശ്യപ്പെടുന്നത് എന്താണെന്ന് നിങ്ങൾ അറിയുന്നില്ല. ഞാൻ കുടിക്കുന്ന പാനപാത്രം കുടിക്കാനോ ഞാൻ സ്വീകരിക്കുന്ന സ്നാനം സ്വീകരിക്കാനോ നിങ്ങൾക്കു കഴിയുമോ?” എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.
But Jesus said to them: “You do not know what you are asking. Are you able to drink from the chalice from which I drink, or to be baptized with the baptism with which I am to be baptized?”
39 “ഞങ്ങൾ അതിനു തയ്യാറാണ്,” അവർ മറുപടി പറഞ്ഞു. യേശു അവരോട്, “ഞാൻ കുടിക്കുന്ന പാനപാത്രം നിങ്ങൾ കുടിക്കും; ഞാൻ സ്വീകരിക്കുന്ന സ്നാനവും നിങ്ങൾ സ്വീകരിക്കും;
But they said to him, “We can.” Then Jesus said to them: “Indeed, you shall drink from the chalice, from which I drink; and you shall be baptized with the baptism, with which I am to be baptized.
40 എന്നാൽ എന്റെ വലത്തോ ഇടത്തോ ഇരിക്കാനുള്ള അനുവാദം നൽകുന്നത് ഞാനല്ല; ആ സ്ഥാനങ്ങൾ ദൈവം ആർക്കുവേണ്ടിയാണോ ഒരുക്കിയിട്ടിരിക്കുന്നത്, അത് അവർക്കുള്ളതാണ്” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
But to sit at my right, or at my left, is not mine to give to you, but it is for those for whom it has been prepared.”
41 ഇതു കേട്ടിട്ട് ശേഷിച്ച പത്തുപേരും യാക്കോബിനോടും യോഹന്നാനോടും അസന്തുഷ്ടരായി.
And the ten, upon hearing this, began to be indignant toward James and John.
42 യേശു അവരെയെല്ലാം അടുക്കൽവിളിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞത്: “ഈ ലോകത്തിലെ ഭരണകർത്താക്കളായി കരുതപ്പെടുന്നവർ തങ്ങളുടെ പ്രജകളുടെമേൽ ആധിപത്യം നടത്തുന്നെന്നും അവരിലെ പ്രമുഖർ അവരുടെമേൽ സ്വേച്ഛാധിപത്യം നടത്തുന്നെന്നും നിങ്ങൾക്കറിയാമല്ലോ.
But Jesus, calling them, said to them: “You know that those who seem to be leaders among the Gentiles dominate them, and their leaders exercise authority over them.
43 നിങ്ങൾക്കിടയിൽ അങ്ങനെ സംഭവിക്കരുത്. പിന്നെയോ, നിങ്ങളിൽ പ്രമുഖരാകാൻ ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നവരെല്ലാം മറ്റുള്ളവർക്ക് ദാസരായിരിക്കണം;
But it is not to be this way among you. Instead, whoever would become greater shall be your minister;
44 പ്രഥമസ്ഥാനീയരാകാൻ ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നവരോ എല്ലാവരുടെയും അടിമയുമായിരിക്കണം.
and whoever will be first among you shall be the servant of all.
45 മനുഷ്യപുത്രൻ (ഞാൻ) വന്നതോ മറ്റുള്ളവരിൽനിന്ന് ശുശ്രൂഷ സ്വീകരിക്കാനല്ല; മറിച്ച്, മറ്റുള്ളവരെ ശുശ്രൂഷിക്കാനും തന്റെ ജീവൻ അനേകർക്ക് വീണ്ടെടുപ്പുവിലയായി നൽകാനും ആണ്.”
So, too, the Son of man has not come so that they would minister to him, but so that he would minister and would give his life as a redemption for many.”
46 അങ്ങനെ യാത്രചെയ്ത് അവർ യെരീഹോപട്ടണത്തിൽ എത്തി. പിന്നെ യേശുവും ശിഷ്യന്മാരും ഒരു വലിയ ജനക്കൂട്ടത്തോടൊപ്പം ആ പട്ടണം വിട്ടുപോകുമ്പോൾ തിമായിയുടെ മകനായ ബർത്തിമായി എന്ന അന്ധൻ ഭിക്ഷ യാചിച്ചുകൊണ്ട് വഴിയരികിൽ ഇരിക്കുന്നുണ്ടായിരുന്നു.
And they went to Jericho. And as he was setting out from Jericho with his disciples and a very numerous multitude, Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, a blind man, sat begging beside the way.
47 പോകുന്നത് നസറായനായ യേശു ആകുന്നു എന്നു കേട്ടപ്പോൾ അയാൾ, “യേശുവേ, ദാവീദുപുത്രാ, അടിയനോട് കരുണതോന്നണമേ” എന്ന് ഉച്ചത്തിൽ നിലവിളിക്കാൻ തുടങ്ങി.
And when he had heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out and to say, “Jesus, Son of David, take pity on me.”
48 പലരും അയാളെ ശാസിച്ചുകൊണ്ട്, മിണ്ടരുതെന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. എന്നാൽ അയാൾ അധികം ഉച്ചത്തിൽ, “ദാവീദുപുത്രാ, അടിയനോട് കരുണതോന്നണമേ” എന്നു നിലവിളിച്ചു.
And many admonished him to be quiet. But he cried out all the more, “Son of David, take pity on me.”
49 അതുകേട്ടു യേശു നിന്നു. “ആ മനുഷ്യനെ വിളിക്കുക” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. അവർ അന്ധനെ വിളിച്ച് അയാളോട്, “ധൈര്യമായിരിക്കുക, എഴുന്നേൽക്കുക, യേശു നിന്നെ വിളിക്കുന്നു” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
And Jesus, standing still, instructed him to be called. And they called the blind man, saying to him: “Be at peace. Arise. He is calling you.”
50 അയാൾ തന്റെ പുറങ്കുപ്പായം വലിച്ചെറിഞ്ഞിട്ടു ചാടിയെഴുന്നേറ്റ് യേശുവിന്റെ അടുത്തെത്തി.
And casting aside his garment, he leapt up and went to him.
51 “ഞാൻ നിനക്ക് എന്തു ചെയ്തുതരണമെന്നാണ് നീ ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നത്?” എന്ന് അയാളോടു ചോദിച്ചു. അന്ധനായ ബർത്തിമായി, “എനിക്കു കാഴ്ച കിട്ടണം, റബ്ബീ,” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
And in response, Jesus said to him, “What do you want, that I should do for you?” And the blind man said to him, “Master, that I may see.”
52 യേശു അയാളോട്, “പൊയ്ക്കൊള്ളൂ, നിന്റെ വിശ്വാസം നിന്നെ സൗഖ്യമാക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. ഉടൻതന്നെ അയാൾക്ക് കാഴ്ച ലഭിച്ചു; തുടർന്നുള്ള യാത്രയിൽ അയാൾ യേശുവിനെ അനുഗമിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു.
Then Jesus said to him, “Go, your faith has made you whole.” And immediately he saw, and he followed him on the way.
