ലൂക്കോസ് 22
1 പെസഹായെന്നും വിളിക്കപ്പെട്ടിരുന്ന പുളിപ്പില്ലാത്ത അപ്പത്തിന്റെ പെരുന്നാൾ അടുത്തു വരികയായിരുന്നു.
Now the festival of Unleavened Bread, which is called the Passover, was drawing near.
2 പുരോഹിതമുഖ്യന്മാരും വേദജ്ഞരും യേശുവിനെ ഉന്മൂലനംചെയ്യുന്നതിനു ഗൂഢാലോചന നടത്തിവരികയായിരുന്നു, എന്നാൽ അവർ ജനത്തിന്റെ പ്രതികരണം ഭയപ്പെട്ടിരുന്നു.
The high priest and the Scribes continually sought means to put him to death.
3 ആ സമയത്ത്, പന്ത്രണ്ട് അപ്പൊസ്തലന്മാരിൽ ഒരാളായിരുന്ന യൂദാ ഈസ്കര്യോത്തിൽ സാത്താൻ പ്രവേശിച്ചു.
Satan however, entered into Judas (the man called Iscariot), who was one of the twelve.
4 അയാൾ പുരോഹിതമുഖ്യന്മാരുടെയും ദൈവാലയത്തിലെ പടനായകരുടെയും അടുക്കൽ ചെന്ന് യേശുവിനെ എങ്ങനെ ഒറ്റിക്കൊടുക്കാമെന്ന് അവരുമായി കൂടിയാലോചിച്ചു.
And he went out and conferred with the chief priests and commanders
5 അവർ അത്യധികം ആനന്ദിച്ച് അയാൾക്കു പണം നൽകാമെന്ന് വാഗ്ദാനംചെയ്തു.
They were delighted, and agreed to give him money.
6 അയാൾ അതിനു സമ്മതിച്ചു. യേശുവിനുചുറ്റും ജനക്കൂട്ടം ഇല്ലാത്ത സമയംനോക്കി യൂദാ, യേശുവിനെ അറസ്റ്റ് ചെയ്യിക്കാനുള്ള തക്കംനോക്കിക്കൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.
He consented to this, and looked for an opportunity to betray him, when the people were not present.
7 പെസഹാക്കുഞ്ഞാടിനെ യാഗം അർപ്പിക്കേണ്ടുന്ന പുളിപ്പില്ലാത്ത അപ്പത്തിന്റെ ദിവസം വന്നുചേർന്നു.
Then came the day of Unleavened Bread, on which the paschal lamb must be sacrificed.
8 യേശു പത്രോസിനെയും യോഹന്നാനെയും വിളിച്ച് “നിങ്ങൾ പോയി നമുക്കു പെസഹ ഭക്ഷിക്കേണ്ടതിനുള്ള ഒരുക്കങ്ങൾ നടത്തുക” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞയച്ചു.
So Jesus went to Peter and Johnsaying, "Go and prepare for us the Passover, that we may eat it."
9 “ഞങ്ങൾ എവിടെയാണ് പെസഹ ഒരുക്കേണ്ടത്?” എന്ന് അവർ ചോദിച്ചു.
"Where shall we get it ready?" they asked.
10 യേശു ഉത്തരമായി, “നിങ്ങൾ ജെറുശലേം പട്ടണത്തിനുള്ളിൽ കടക്കുമ്പോൾ ഒരുകുടം വെള്ളം ചുമന്നുകൊണ്ടുപോകുന്ന ഒരുവൻ നിങ്ങൾക്കുനേരേ വരും. അയാൾ കയറുന്ന വീട്ടിലേക്ക് അയാളുടെ പിന്നാലെ ചെല്ലുക.
He answered. "No sooner will you have entered the city than you will meet a man carrying a water-jug. Follow him into the house were he is going.
11 ആ വീടിന്റെ ഉടമസ്ഥനോട്, ‘ഞാൻ എന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാരോടൊത്ത് പെസഹ ആചരിക്കാനുള്ള വിരുന്നുശാല എവിടെ, എന്ന് ഗുരു ചോദിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറയുക’ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
"And to the good man of the house say, ‘The teacher asks you, "Where is the room in which I can eat the Passover with my disciples?"‘
12 വിശാലവും സുസജ്ജവുമായൊരു മാളികമുറി അയാൾ നിങ്ങൾക്കു കാണിച്ചുതരും; അവിടെ നമുക്കുവേണ്ടി ഒരുക്കങ്ങൾ ചെയ്യുക” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
"Then he will show you a large upper room furnished. There make your preparations."
13 അവർ പോയി, യേശു അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞിരുന്നതുപോലെതന്നെ എല്ലാം കണ്ടു; അവിടെ അവർ പെസഹ ഒരുക്കി.
So they went and found everything as he had told them, they prepared the Passover.
14 സമയം ആയപ്പോൾ യേശുവും അപ്പൊസ്തലന്മാരും പെസഹാചരണത്തിന് ഇരുന്നു.
And when the hour was come he sat down, and the twelve apostles with him,
15 യേശു അവരോട്, “എന്റെ പീഡാനുഭവത്തിനുമുമ്പ് നിങ്ങളോടുകൂടെ ഈ പെസഹ കഴിക്കാൻ ഞാൻ വളരെ വാഞ്ഛിച്ചു.
and he said to them. "With desire have I longed to eat this Passover with you before I suffer.
16 ദൈവരാജ്യത്തിൽ അതു പരിപൂർണമാകുന്നതുവരെ ഞാൻ ഇനി അതു ഭക്ഷിക്കുകയില്ല എന്നു ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
For I tell you that I certainly will not eat again until it be fulfilled in the kingdom of God."
17 പിന്നെ പാനപാത്രം എടുത്തു ദൈവത്തിന് സ്തോത്രംചെയ്തശേഷം പറഞ്ഞു: “ഇതു വാങ്ങി പങ്കിടുക.
Then he had received a cup and given thanks, he said,
18 ദൈവരാജ്യം വരുന്നതുവരെ മുന്തിരിയുടെ ഫലത്തിൽനിന്ന് ഞാൻ വീണ്ടും പാനം ചെയ്യുകയില്ല എന്നു ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.”
"Take this, and divide it among yourselves; for I tell you that I will drink no more of the fruit of the vine until the kingdom of God is come."
19 തുടർന്ന് അവിടന്ന് അപ്പം എടുത്ത് ദൈവത്തിന് സ്തോത്രംചെയ്ത്, നുറുക്കി അവർക്കു കൊടുത്തുകൊണ്ട്, “ഇതു നിങ്ങൾക്കുവേണ്ടി അർപ്പിക്കപ്പെടുന്ന എന്റെ ശരീരമാകുന്നു. എന്റെ ഓർമയ്ക്കായി ഇതു ചെയ്യുക” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
And he took a loaf, and after giving thanks, he broke it and gave it to them saying. "This is my body, which is given for you; this do in remembrance of me.’
20 അതുപോലെതന്നെ അവിടന്ന് അത്താഴത്തിനുശേഷം, പാനപാത്രം എടുത്ത്, “ഈ പാനപാത്രം നിങ്ങൾക്കുവേണ്ടി ചൊരിയപ്പെടുന്ന എന്റെ രക്തത്തിലെ ശ്രേഷ്ഠമായ ഉടമ്പടി ആകുന്നു,” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
He gave them a cup in like manner, after supper saying. "This cup is the new covenant in my blood, poured out for your sake.
21 “എന്നാൽ, ഈ മേശമേൽത്തന്നെ എന്നെ ഒറ്റിക്കൊടുക്കുന്നവന്റെ കൈ എന്റെ അരികെയുണ്ട്.
"But behold, the hand of my betrayer is at the table with me!
22 ദൈവികപദ്ധതി അനുസരിച്ചുതന്നെ മനുഷ്യപുത്രൻ (ഞാൻ) ഇതാ പോകുന്നു; എന്നാൽ, എന്നെ ഒറ്റിക്കൊടുക്കുന്നവന്റെ സ്ഥിതി അതിഭയാനകം!”
"The Son of man indeed goes on his way, as it has been determined; but woe to that man by who he is betrayed."
23 “ആരായിരിക്കും ഇതു ചെയ്യുക,” എന്ന് അവർ പരസ്പരം ചോദിച്ചുതുടങ്ങി.
And they began to question among themselves which of them it could be who was going to do such a thing.
24 തങ്ങളിൽ ആരെയാണ് ഏറ്റവും ശ്രേഷ്ഠനായി കരുതേണ്ടതെന്ന് വേറൊരു വിഷയവും അവർക്കിടയിൽ ചർച്ചയായി.
And there arose also a dispute among them as to which of them could be considered the greatest,
25 യേശു അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞു: “ഈ ലോകത്തിലെ ഭരണകർത്താക്കൾ തങ്ങളുടെ പ്രജകളുടെമേൽ ആധിപത്യംനടത്തുന്നു. തങ്ങളുടെമേൽ സ്വേച്ഛാധിപത്യം നടത്തുന്നവരെ ജനം തങ്ങളുടെ അഭ്യുദയകാംക്ഷികൾ എന്നും വിളിക്കുന്നു.
and he said to them. "The kings of the Gentiles lord it over them, and those who have who have authority over them are called Benefactors.
26 എന്നാൽ, നിങ്ങൾ അനുവർത്തിക്കേണ്ടത് അങ്ങനെയല്ല. നിങ്ങളിലെ മഹാന്മാർ ഏറ്റവും ഇളയവരെപ്പോലെയും നേതാക്കൾ ശുശ്രൂഷകരെപ്പോലെയും ആയിരിക്കണം.
"But you shall not be so. But he who is greater among you let him become like the younger; and he who is leader like him who serves.
27 ഇവരിൽ ആരാണു മഹാൻ? ഭക്ഷണത്തിനിരിക്കുയാളോ ശുശ്രൂഷിക്കുന്നയാളോ? ഭക്ഷണത്തിന് ഇരിക്കുന്നയാളല്ലേ? എന്നാൽ ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളുടെ മധ്യത്തിൽ ഒരു ശുശ്രൂഷകനെപ്പോലെയാണല്ലോ.
"For which is greater, he who sits at table, or he who serves? Is it not he who sits at table? But I am in your midst as one who serves.
28 ഞാൻ അഭിമുഖീകരിച്ച പരീക്ഷകളിൽ എന്നെ വിട്ടുപിരിയാതെ എന്നോടൊപ്പം നിന്നവർ നിങ്ങളാണല്ലോ.
"You, however, are those who have stood by me in my trials.
29 എന്റെ പിതാവ് എനിക്ക് രാജ്യഭാരം കൽപ്പിച്ചുതന്നതുപോലെ ഞാൻ നിങ്ങൾക്കും തരുന്നു.
"And I promise you a kingdom, even as my Father has promised me a kingdom;
30 അങ്ങനെ നിങ്ങൾ എന്റെ രാജ്യത്തിൽ, എന്റെ മേശയിൽനിന്ന് ഭക്ഷിക്കുകയും പാനംചെയ്യുകയും ചെയ്യും, സിംഹാസനസ്ഥരായി ഇസ്രായേലിലെ പന്ത്രണ്ട് ഗോത്രങ്ങളെ ന്യായംവിധിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യും.
"so that you shall eat and drink in my kingdom, and you shall sit on thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
31 “ശിമോനേ, ശിമോനേ, സാത്താൻ നിങ്ങൾ ഓരോരുത്തരെയും ഗോതമ്പു പാറ്റുന്നതുപോലെ പാറ്റേണ്ടതിന് അനുവാദം ചോദിച്ചു;
"Simon, Simon," said the Lord, "behold, Satan has asked to have you all that he might sift you like wheat.
32 എന്നാൽ നിന്റെ വിശ്വാസം നഷ്ടപ്പെട്ടുപോകാതിരിക്കാൻ ഞാൻ നിനക്കുവേണ്ടി പ്രാർഥിച്ചു. നീ തിരിച്ചുവന്നശേഷം നിന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാരെ ഉറപ്പിച്ചുകൊള്ളണം.”
"But I made supplication for you that your own faith may not fail. And you, when you have turned again, must strengthen your brothers."
33 അപ്പോൾ ശിമോൻ, “കർത്താവേ, അങ്ങയോടുകൂടെ തടവിലാകാനും മരിക്കാനും ഞാൻ തയ്യാറാണ്” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
"Lord," Simon said to him, "I am ready to go with you, both to prison and to death."
34 യേശു അവനോട്, “പത്രോസേ, ഞാൻ നിന്നോടു പറയുന്നു: എന്നെ അറിയുന്നില്ല എന്ന് നീ മൂന്നുപ്രാവശ്യം തിരസ്കരിച്ചു പറയുംവരെ ഇന്നു കോഴി കൂവുകയില്ല.”
"I tell you, Peter," he answered. "the cock will not crow this day until you will three times deny that you know me."
35 പിന്നെ യേശു അവരോടു ചോദിച്ചു: “ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളെ മടിശ്ശീലയോ സഞ്ചിയോ ചെരിപ്പോകൂടാതെ അയച്ചപ്പോൾ നിങ്ങൾക്ക് എന്തെങ്കിലും കുറവുണ്ടായോ?” “ഒരു കുറവും ഉണ്ടായില്ല” അവർ മറുപടി പറഞ്ഞു.
Moreover, he said to them, "When I sent you out without purse or wallet or sandals, did you lack anything?" They answered him, "We lacked nothing.’
36 യേശു തുടർന്ന് അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞത്: “എന്നാൽ ഇപ്പോൾ മടിശ്ശീലയുള്ളവൻ അത് എടുക്കുക; അതുപോലെതന്നെ സഞ്ചിയും. നിങ്ങളുടെപക്കൽ ഒരു വാൾ ഇല്ലായെങ്കിൽ തന്റെ വസ്ത്രം വിറ്റ് ഒരു വാൾ വാങ്ങുക.
Then he said to them. "But now let him who has a purse take it, and he who has a wallet, let him the do the same. And he who has no sword, let him sell his cloak and buy one.
37 ‘അവൻ അധർമികളുടെ കൂട്ടത്തിൽ എണ്ണപ്പെട്ടു,’ എന്നു രേഖപ്പെടുത്തിയിരിക്കുന്ന പ്രവചനം എന്നിൽ നിറവേറേണ്ടതാകുന്നു. അതേ, എന്നെക്കുറിച്ച് എഴുതിയിട്ടുള്ളതെല്ലാം പൂർത്തീകരിക്കപ്പെടണം.”
"For I say to you that this word of Scripture must find it’s fulfilment in me. "And he was numbered among the transgressors, For that which concerns me has its accomplishment."
38 അതിനു ശിഷ്യന്മാർ, “ഇതാ, കർത്താവേ, ഇവിടെ രണ്ട് വാൾ ഉണ്ട്” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. “അതു മതി,” അദ്ദേഹം ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.
"Master" they said, "here are two swords!" "That is enough," he answered.
39 ഇതിനുശേഷം യേശു മാളികമുറിക്ക് പുറത്തിറങ്ങി പതിവുപോലെ ഒലിവുമലയിലേക്കു യാത്രയായി; ശിഷ്യന്മാർ അദ്ദേഹത്തെ അനുഗമിച്ചു.
Then he went out, and began to go to the Mount of Olives, as was his wont; and his disciples followed him.
40 അവിടെ എത്തിയപ്പോൾ അദ്ദേഹം അവരോട്, “പ്രലോഭനത്തിൽ അകപ്പെടാതിരിക്കാൻ പ്രാർഥിക്കുക” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
But he arrived at the place he said to them, "Pray that you enter not into temptation."
41 പിന്നെ അവരിൽനിന്ന് ഒരു കല്ലേറു ദൂരത്തിനപ്പുറം ചെന്നു മുട്ടുകുത്തി,
But he himself withdrew from them about a stone’s throw, kneeling down he prayed repeatedly, saying.
42 “പിതാവേ, തിരുവിഷ്ടമെങ്കിൽ ഈ പാനപാത്രം എന്നിൽനിന്ന് മാറ്റണമേ; എങ്കിലും എന്റെ ഇഷ്ടമല്ല, അവിടത്തെ ഇഷ്ടംപോലെതന്നെ ആകട്ടെ” എന്നു പ്രാർഥിച്ചു.
"Father, if thou art willing, take away this cup from me; but thy will, not mine, be done!"
43 സ്വർഗത്തിൽനിന്ന് ഒരു ദൂതൻ പ്രത്യക്ഷനായി അദ്ദേഹത്തിന് ശക്തിപകർന്നു.
(And there appeared to him an angel from heaven, strengthening him.
44 പിന്നെ, യേശു അതിവേദനയിലായി, അത്യധികം തീവ്രതയോടെ പ്രാർഥിച്ചു. അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ വിയർപ്പ് വലിയ രക്തത്തുള്ളികൾപോലെ നിലത്തുവീണു.
(And being in agony he kept praying more earnestly; and his sweat became as if it were great drops of blood falling down upon the ground.)
45 പ്രാർഥന കഴിഞ്ഞ് അദ്ദേഹം എഴുന്നേറ്റ് ശിഷ്യന്മാരുടെ അടുക്കൽ തിരിച്ചെത്തിയപ്പോൾ, അവർ ദുഃഖത്താൽ തളർന്ന് ഉറങ്ങിപ്പോയിരിക്കുന്നതു കണ്ട്,
When he arose from his prayers, and came to his disciples, he found them sleeping for sorrow,
46 “നിങ്ങൾ ഉറങ്ങുന്നത് എന്ത്? എഴുന്നേൽക്കൂ, പ്രലോഭനത്തിൽ അകപ്പെടാതിരിക്കാൻ പ്രാർഥിക്കുക” എന്ന് യേശു അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞു.
and said to them. "Why are you asleep? Get up, and pray that you enter not into temptation."
47 യേശു സംസാരിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നപ്പോൾത്തന്നെ ഒരു ജനക്കൂട്ടം അവിടെ വന്നുചേർന്നു. പന്ത്രണ്ട് ശിഷ്യന്മാരിൽ ഒരാളായ യൂദാ ആയിരുന്നു അവർക്കു വഴികാട്ടിയായി നടന്നിരുന്നത്. അയാൾ യേശുവിനെ ചുംബിക്കേണ്ടതിന് അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ അടുത്തേക്കുചെന്നു.
While he was still speaking there came a crowd, and he who was called Judas, one of the Twelve, was leading them. He came near to Jesus in order to kiss him,
48 എന്നാൽ യേശു അയാളോട്, “യൂദായേ, നീ ചുംബനം കൊണ്ടാണോ മനുഷ്യപുത്രനെ ഒറ്റിക്കൊടുക്കുന്നത്?” എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.
but Jesus said to him, "Judas, you are betraying the Son of man with a kiss?"
49 എന്താണു സംഭവിക്കാൻ പോകുന്നതെന്നു യേശുവിന്റെ കൂടെയുണ്ടായിരുന്ന ശിഷ്യന്മാർ ഗ്രഹിച്ചിട്ട്, “കർത്താവേ, ഞങ്ങൾ വാളെടുത്തു വെട്ടണമോ?” എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.
Those who were around him, when they saw what was about to happen, said to him, "Lord, shall we strike with our swords?"
50 അവരിൽ ഒരാൾ മഹാപുരോഹിതന്റെ ദാസനെ വെട്ടി, അയാളുടെ വലതുകാത് ഛേദിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു.
Then one of them did strike a blow at the high priest’s slave, and cut off his right ear.
51 “അരുത്, അത് പാടില്ല,” യേശു പറഞ്ഞു. പിന്നെ അദ്ദേഹം അവന്റെ കാതിൽ തൊട്ട് അവനെ സൗഖ്യമാക്കി.
"Permit me to do this at least," said Jesus, as he touched his ear and healed him.
52 തനിക്കെതിരേവന്ന പുരോഹിതമുഖ്യന്മാരോടും ദൈവാലയത്തിലെ പടനായകന്മാരോടും സമുദായനേതാക്കന്മാരോടും യേശു, “ഞാൻ ഒരു വിപ്ളവം നയിക്കുന്നതിനാലാണോ നിങ്ങൾ എന്നെ പിടിച്ചുകെട്ടാൻ വാളുകളും വടികളുമേന്തി വരുന്നത്?
Then Jesus said to the corps of priests and captains of the temple and elders who had come out to arrest him. "Have ye come for me with swords and clubs to arrest me like a robber?
53 ഞാൻ ദിവസവും ദൈവാലയാങ്കണത്തിൽ നിങ്ങളോടുകൂടെ ആയിരുന്നപ്പോൾ നിങ്ങൾ എന്റെമേൽ കൈവെച്ചില്ല. എന്നാൽ ഇതു നിങ്ങളുടെ സമയം, അന്ധകാരം അധികാരം നടത്തുന്ന സമയം” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
"When daily I was with you in the temple you did not stretch out your hands to take me; but this is your hour and the power of darkness."
54 അവർ യേശുവിനെ പിടിച്ചു മഹാപുരോഹിതന്റെ അരമനയിലേക്ക് കൊണ്ടുപോയി. പത്രോസ് അൽപ്പം അകലംവിട്ട് പിന്നാലെ ചെന്നു.
So they seized him and led him away, and took him to the house of the high priest; while Peter was following him a long way off.
55 ചിലർ അരമനാങ്കണത്തിന് നടുവിൽ തീ കത്തിച്ച് ഒന്നിച്ചിരുന്നപ്പോൾ പത്രോസും അവരോടൊപ്പം ചേർന്നു.
And when they had lighted a fire in the center of the court, and had sat down together, Peter was taking his seat among them.
56 ഒരു വേലക്കാരി പെൺകുട്ടി തീയുടെ പ്രകാശത്തിൽ അയാൾ ഇരിക്കുന്നതു കണ്ടു; സൂക്ഷിച്ചുനോക്കിയിട്ട്, “ഈ മനുഷ്യനും അയാളുടെ അനുയായികളിൽ ഒരാളാണ്” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
But a certain maid servant saw him taking his seat near the fire and, with a sharp glance at him, she said, "This fellow was with him, too!"
57 എന്നാൽ പത്രോസ് അതു നിഷേധിച്ച്, “സ്ത്രീയേ, ഞാൻ അയാളെ അറിയുന്നില്ല” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
But he denied it, saying, "Woman, I know nothing about him."
58 അൽപ്പസമയം കഴിഞ്ഞ് വേറെ ഒരാൾ അയാളെ കണ്ടിട്ട്, “നീയും അവരുടെ കൂട്ടത്തിലുള്ളവൻ” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. “മനുഷ്യാ, ഞാൻ അക്കൂട്ടത്തിലുള്ളവനല്ല,” പത്രോസ് മറുപടി പറഞ്ഞു.
A little later a man saw him, and said, "You too are one of them" But Peter declared, "Man, I am not."
59 ഏകദേശം ഒരു മണിക്കൂർ കഴിഞ്ഞു മറ്റൊരാൾ ഉറപ്പിച്ചുപറഞ്ഞു: “തീർച്ചയായും ഇയാൾ അയാളോടുകൂടെ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്ന ആൾതന്നെ. നോക്കൂ ഇയാളും ഗലീലക്കാരനാണല്ലോ!”
But an hour afterwards another man kept insisting, saying. "Really, this fellow was with him. Why, he is a Galilean."
60 അതിനു പത്രോസ്, “ഹേ മനുഷ്യാ, നീ പറയുന്നത് എന്താണെന്ന് എനിക്കു മനസ്സിലാകുന്നില്ല” എന്ന് ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു. പത്രോസ് സംസാരിക്കുമ്പോൾ കോഴി കൂവി.
"Man," said Peter, "I do not know what you mean." And immediately, while he was still speaking, the cock crew.
61 അപ്പോൾ കർത്താവ് തിരിഞ്ഞ് പത്രോസിനെ സൂക്ഷിച്ചുനോക്കി. “ഇന്ന് കോഴി കൂവുന്നതിനുമുമ്പ് മൂന്നുപ്രാവശ്യം നീ എന്നെ തിരസ്കരിക്കും,” എന്നു കർത്താവ് തന്നോടു പറഞ്ഞിരുന്ന വാക്ക് ഓർത്ത്
Then the Lord turned and looked at Peter, and Peter recollected the word of the Lord, how he had said to him, "This very day, before the cock crows, you will deny me three times."
62 പത്രോസ് പുറത്തേക്കുപോയി അതിദുഃഖത്തോടെ പൊട്ടിക്കരഞ്ഞു.
And Peter went outside and wept with bitter crying.
63 യേശുവിനു കാവൽനിന്നിരുന്ന പടയാളികൾ അദ്ദേഹത്തെ പരിഹസിക്കാനും അടിക്കാനും തുടങ്ങി.

64 അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ കണ്ണ് മൂടിക്കെട്ടിയിട്ട്, “ആരാണ് നിന്നെ അടിച്ചത്? ഞങ്ങളോട് പ്രവചിക്കുക!” എന്നിങ്ങനെയും
They would blindfold him and ask him. "Prophesy! Tell who struck you!"
65 മറ്റുപലതും അദ്ദേഹത്തെ അപഹസിച്ചുകൊണ്ട് അവർ പറഞ്ഞു.
And they said many other insulting things against him.
66 നേരം പുലർന്നപ്പോൾ, സമുദായനേതാക്കന്മാരും പുരോഹിതമുഖ്യന്മാരും വേദജ്ഞരും ഉൾപ്പെട്ട ന്യായാധിപസമിതി സമ്മേളിച്ച് യേശുവിനെ തങ്ങളുടെമുമ്പിൽ വരുത്തി.
When it became the day the elders if the people met with the high priests and the Scribes and had brought before the Sanhedrin, saying.
67 “നീ ക്രിസ്തുവാണോ,” അവർ ആരാഞ്ഞു, “ഞങ്ങളോടു പറയുക.” അതിന് യേശു, “ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറഞ്ഞാലും നിങ്ങൾ എന്നെ വിശ്വസിക്കുകയില്ല,

68 ഞാൻ ചോദിക്കുന്ന ചോദ്യങ്ങൾക്കു നിങ്ങൾ ഉത്തരം പറയുകയുമില്ല.
"And if I ask you, you will not answer.
69 എന്നാൽ മനുഷ്യപുത്രൻ (ഞാൻ) ദൈവശക്തിയുടെ വലതുഭാഗത്ത് ഉപവിഷ്ടനാകുന്ന സമയം ഇതാ വന്നെത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു” എന്ന് ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.
"But from henceforth the Son of man will be seated at the right hand of the power of God."
70 “നീ അപ്പോൾ ദൈവപുത്രൻതന്നെയോ?” അവർ എല്ലാവരും ഒരേസ്വരത്തിൽ ചോദിച്ചു. “നിങ്ങൾ പറഞ്ഞതുപോലെതന്നെ; ഞാൻ ആകുന്നു,” യേശു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.
Then they all said, "Are you then the Son of God."
71 അപ്പോൾ അവർ, “ഇനി നമുക്ക് വേറെ സാക്ഷ്യത്തിന്റെ ആവശ്യം എന്ത്? അവന്റെ വായിൽനിന്നുതന്നെ നാം അതു കേട്ടുകഴിഞ്ഞല്ലോ” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
"What need we of further evidence? for we ourselves have heard it from his own lips."
