ലൂക്കോസ് 18
1 ഹതാശരായിപ്പോകാതെ നിരന്തരം പ്രാർഥിക്കുന്നതിന്റെ പ്രാധാന്യം വ്യക്തമാക്കാൻ യേശു ശിഷ്യന്മാരോട് ഒരു സാദൃശ്യകഥ പറഞ്ഞു.
And He spoke a parable to them that it behooves them to pray always, and not to faint;
2 “ഒരു പട്ടണത്തിൽ, ദൈവത്തെ ഭയപ്പെടുകയോ മനുഷ്യരെ ബഹുമാനിക്കുകയോ ചെയ്യാത്ത ഒരു ന്യായാധിപൻ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.
saying, There was a certain judge in a certain city, fearing not God, and regarding not man.
3 ആ പട്ടണത്തിലെ ഒരു വിധവ, ‘എന്റെ ശത്രുവിൽനിന്ന് എന്റെ അവകാശം സ്ഥാപിച്ച് എനിക്കു നിയമസംരക്ഷണം നൽകിയാലും!’ എന്ന അപേക്ഷയുമായി അയാളുടെ അടുക്കൽ കൂടെക്കൂടെ ചെന്നുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.
And there was a widow in that city; and she continued to come to him, saying, Avenge me of mine adversary.
4 “കുറെ കാലത്തേക്ക് അയാൾ ഒരു പരിഗണനയും കാണിച്ചില്ല. എന്നാൽ ഒടുവിൽ, ‘ഞാൻ ദൈവത്തെ ഭയപ്പെടുകയോ മനുഷ്യരെ ബഹുമാനിക്കയോ ചെയ്യുന്നില്ലെങ്കിലും
And he was not willing for a time: but after these things he said in himself, Though I fear not God nor regard man,
5 ഈ വിധവ എന്നെ തുടർച്ചയായി അസഹ്യപ്പെടുത്തുന്നതുകൊണ്ട് ഞാൻ അവൾക്കു ന്യായം നടത്തിക്കൊടുക്കും: അല്ലെങ്കിൽ അവളുടെ നിരന്തരമായ വരവ് എനിക്കു സഹിക്കാവുന്നതിലും അപ്പുറമാകും’ എന്നു തന്നോടുതന്നെ പറഞ്ഞു.”
yet because this widow causes me trouble, I will avenge her, lest coming forever she may smite me in the face.
6 കർത്താവ് തുടർന്ന് ശിഷ്യന്മാരോട്, “നീതിനിഷ്ഠനല്ലാത്ത ആ ന്യായാധിപൻ പറയുന്നതു ശ്രദ്ധിക്കുക.
But the Lord said, I fear what the unjust judge says.
7 അയാൾപോലും അവസാനം നീതിയുക്തമായി വിധി നടപ്പാക്കിയെങ്കിൽ, ദൈവത്തോട് രാവും പകലും നിലവിളിക്കുന്ന അവിടത്തെ തെരഞ്ഞെടുക്കപ്പെട്ട ജനത്തിനു ദൈവം ന്യായം നടത്തിക്കൊടുക്കാതിരിക്കുമോ? അവിടന്ന് അവരുടെ കാര്യം നീട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടുപോകുമോ?
And shall not God avenge His elect, crying to Him day and night, and He is long-suffering over them?
8 ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയട്ടെ, ‘ദൈവം വേഗത്തിൽ അവർക്കു നീതി നടത്തിക്കൊടുക്കും. എങ്കിലും മനുഷ്യപുത്രന്റെ (എന്റെ) പുനരാഗമനത്തിൽ ഭൂമിയിൽ വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നവരെ കണ്ടെത്താനാകുമോ?’” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
I say unto you, that He will avenge them speedily. Moreover the Son of man having come, will He then find faith upon the earth?
9 തങ്ങൾ നീതിനിഷ്ഠരാണെന്ന ആത്മവിശ്വാസത്തോടെ മറ്റുള്ളവരെ പുച്ഛിക്കുന്ന ചിലരോട് യേശു ഈ സാദൃശ്യകഥ പറഞ്ഞു:
And He spoke this parable to certain ones having confidence in themselves that they are righteous, and despising the rest.
10 “രണ്ട് മനുഷ്യർ പ്രാർഥിക്കാൻ ദൈവാലയത്തിൽ ചെന്നു; ഒരാൾ പരീശൻ, മറ്റേയാൾ ഒരു നികുതിപിരിവുകാരൻ.
Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican.
11 പരീശൻ മറ്റുള്ളവരിൽനിന്നെല്ലാം വേറിട്ടുനിന്നുകൊണ്ട് തന്നെക്കുറിച്ചുതന്നെ ഇങ്ങനെ പ്രാർഥിച്ചു; ‘ദൈവമേ, കൊള്ളക്കാർ, ദുഷ്‌പ്രവൃത്തിക്കാർ, വ്യഭിചാരികൾ മുതലായ മറ്റു മനുഷ്യരെപ്പോലെയോ ഈ നികുതിപിരിവുകാരനെപ്പോലെയോ ഞാൻ അല്ലായ്കയാൽ അങ്ങേക്കു നന്ദി പറയുന്നു.
The Pharisee standing was praying in these words, God, I thank thee because I am not like the rest of the men, extortioners, unjust, adulterous, or even as this publican:
12 ഞാൻ ആഴ്ചയിൽ രണ്ടുതവണ ഉപവസിക്കുകയും എനിക്കു ലഭിക്കുന്ന എല്ലാറ്റിന്റെയും ദശാംശം കൊടുക്കുകയുംചെയ്യുന്നു.’
I fast twice per week; I give tithes of all things so many as I possess.
13 “എന്നാൽ നികുതിപിരിവുകാരനായ മറ്റേയാളോ വളരെ അകലെനിന്ന്, സ്വർഗത്തിലേക്കു നോക്കാൻപോലും ധൈര്യപ്പെടാതെ മാറത്തടിച്ചുകൊണ്ട്, ‘ദൈവമേ, പാപിയായ എന്നോടു കരുണതോന്നണമേ’ എന്നു പ്രാർഥിച്ചു.
But the publican, standing a great way off, did not wish even to lift up his eyes to the heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God, be merciful to me the sinner.
14 “ഈ ഇരുവരിൽ നീതീകരിക്കപ്പെട്ടവനായി വീട്ടിലേക്കു പോയതു നികുതിപിരിവുകാരനാണ്, ആ പരീശനല്ല എന്നു ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു. കാരണം, സ്വയം ഉയർത്തുന്നയാൾ അപമാനിതനാകും; സ്വയം താഴ്ത്തുന്നയാൾ ബഹുമാനിതനും.”
I say unto you, He went down to his house justified rather than the other: because every one exalting himself shall be abased; and the one humbling himself shall be exalted.
15 യേശു കൈവെച്ച് അനുഗ്രഹിക്കേണ്ടതിന് ചില ആളുകൾ നവജാതശിശുക്കളെ അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ കൊണ്ടുവന്നു. ഇതുകണ്ട ശിഷ്യന്മാർ അവരെ ശകാരിച്ചു.
And they were indeed bringing the infants to Him, that He should touch them: but the disciples seeing rebuked them.
16 എന്നാൽ, യേശു അവരെ തന്റെ അടുത്തേക്ക് ആഹ്വാനംചെയ്തുകൊണ്ട് ശിഷ്യന്മാരോട്, “ശിശുക്കളെ എന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വരാൻ അനുവദിക്കുക; അവരെ തടയരുത്; ദൈവരാജ്യം ഇങ്ങനെയുള്ളവർക്കു സ്വന്തം!
And Jesus calling them to Him, said, Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.
17 ഒരു ശിശുവിനെപ്പോലെ ദൈവരാജ്യത്തെ സ്വീകരിക്കാത്ത ആരും ഒരുനാളും അതിൽ പ്രവേശിക്കുകയില്ല, നിശ്ചയം, എന്നു ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
Truly I say unto you, whosoever may not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, can not enter into it.
18 ഒരിക്കൽ ഒരു നേതാവ് യേശുവിനോട്, “നല്ല ഗുരോ, എന്തു ചെയ്താൽ എനിക്കു നിത്യജീവൻ അവകാശമാകും?” എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു. (aiōnios g166)
And a certain ruler asked Him, saying, Good Teacher, having done what, shall I inherit eternal life? (aiōnios g166)
19 അതിനുത്തരമായി യേശു, “നീ എന്നെ ‘നല്ലവൻ’ എന്നു വിളിക്കുന്നതെന്ത്? ദൈവം ഒരുവനല്ലാതെ നല്ലവൻ ആരുമില്ല.
And Jesus said to him, Why do you call me good? No one is good, except One, God.
20 ‘വ്യഭിചാരം ചെയ്യരുത്, കൊലപാതകം ചെയ്യരുത്, മോഷ്ടിക്കരുത്, കള്ളസാക്ഷ്യം പറയരുത്, നിന്റെ മാതാപിതാക്കളെ ബഹുമാനിക്കുക’ എന്നീ കൽപ്പനകൾ നിനക്ക് അറിയാമല്ലോ.” എന്ന് അയാളോടു പറഞ്ഞു.
You know the commandments, thou must not commit adultery, thou must not murder, thou must not steal, thou must not bear false witness, honor thy father and mother.
21 “ഞാൻ ബാല്യംമുതൽതന്നെ ഈ കൽപ്പനകൾ എല്ലാം പാലിച്ചുപോരുന്നു” അയാൾ പ്രതിവചിച്ചു.
And he said, All these things have I kept from my youth.
22 ഇതു കേട്ട യേശു അയാളോട്, “ഇപ്പോഴും നിനക്ക് ഒരു കുറവുണ്ട്. അതുകൊണ്ട്, നിനക്കുള്ളതെല്ലാം വിറ്റ് ദരിദ്രർക്ക് കൊടുക്കുക. അങ്ങനെയെങ്കിൽ സ്വർഗത്തിൽ നിനക്കു നിക്ഷേപം ഉണ്ടാകും. അതിനുശേഷം വരിക, എന്റെ അനുഗാമിയാകുക” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
And Jesus hearing these things, said to him, Still one thing is lacking to thee: Sell all things whatsoever you have, and give to the poor, and you shall have treasure in heaven: and come, follow me.
23 അയാൾ വലിയ ധനികനായിരുന്നതുകൊണ്ട് ഇതു കേട്ട് അത്യധികം ദുഃഖിതനായിത്തീർന്നു.
And hearing these things, he went away very sorrowful; for he was exceedingly rich.
24 യേശു അയാളെ നോക്കിയിട്ട്, “ധനികർ ദൈവരാജ്യത്തിൽ പ്രവേശിക്കുകയെന്നത് എത്രയോ വിഷമകരം!
Jesus seeing him said, How hardly will those having riches enter into the kingdom of God!
25 വാസ്തവത്തിൽ, ധനികർ ദൈവരാജ്യത്തിൽ പ്രവേശിക്കുന്നതിനെക്കാൾ, ഒട്ടകം സൂചിക്കുഴയിലൂടെ കടക്കുന്നതാണ് കൂടുതൽ എളുപ്പം!” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
For it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to go into the kingdom of God.
26 ഇതു കേട്ടവർ, “എന്നാൽ രക്ഷിക്കപ്പെടാൻ ആർക്കു കഴിയും?” എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.
And those hearing said, And who is able to be saved?
27 അതിന് യേശു, “മനുഷ്യർക്ക് അസാധ്യമായത് ദൈവത്തിന് സാധ്യംതന്നെ” എന്ന് ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.
And He said, Those things which are impossible with men are possible with God.
28 അപ്പോൾ പത്രോസ്, “ഇതാ, ഞങ്ങൾക്കുള്ള സകലതും ഉപേക്ഷിച്ച് ഞങ്ങൾ അങ്ങയെ അനുഗമിച്ചല്ലോ” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
And Peter said, Behold, we have left all things, and followed thee.
29 അതിന് യേശു അവരോട്, “ദൈവരാജ്യത്തിനുവേണ്ടി വീട്, ഭാര്യ, സഹോദരങ്ങൾ, മാതാപിതാക്കൾ, മക്കൾ എന്നിവ ത്യജിക്കുന്ന ഏതൊരാൾക്കും
And He said to them, Truly I say unto you, that there is no one who has left house, or parents, or brothers, or wife, or children, for the sake of the kingdom of God,
31 ഈ സംഭാഷണത്തിനുശേഷം യേശു പന്ത്രണ്ട് ശിഷ്യന്മാരോടുമാത്രമായി പറഞ്ഞത്: “നോക്കൂ, നാം ജെറുശലേമിലേക്കു പോകുകയാണ്; മനുഷ്യപുത്രനെക്കുറിച്ചു പ്രവാചകന്മാർ രേഖപ്പെടുത്തിയിട്ടുള്ളതെല്ലാം നിറവേറും.
And taking the twelve aside, He said to them, Behold, we go up to Jerusalem, and all things which have been written by the prophets shall be perfected to the Son of man.
32 മനുഷ്യപുത്രൻ റോമാക്കാർക്ക് ഏൽപ്പിക്കപ്പെടും. അവർ അദ്ദേഹത്തെ പരിഹസിക്കും, അപമാനിക്കും. അവർ അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെമേൽ തുപ്പുകയും
For He will be delivered to the Gentiles; and be mocked, and insulted, and spat upon:
33 ചമ്മട്ടികൊണ്ട് അടിക്കുകയും വധിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യും. എന്നാൽ, മൂന്നാംദിവസം മനുഷ്യപുത്രൻ ഉയിർത്തെഴുന്നേൽക്കും.”
and having scourged Him, they will kill Him; and He will arise the third day.
34 ഇതിന്റെ അർഥം ഗോപ്യമായിരുന്നതിനാൽ ശിഷ്യന്മാർക്ക് ഇതൊന്നും മനസ്സിലായില്ല. അദ്ദേഹം എന്തിനെക്കുറിച്ചാണു സംസാരിച്ചതെന്ന് അവർ ഗ്രഹിച്ചുമില്ല.
And they understood none of these things; and this word was hidden from them, and they did not know the things spoken.
35 യേശു യെരീഹോപട്ടണത്തിന് അടുത്തെത്തി. അവിടെ ഒരു അന്ധൻ ഭിക്ഷ യാചിച്ചുകൊണ്ട് വഴിയരികിൽ ഇരിക്കുന്നുണ്ടായിരുന്നു.
And it came to pass, while He was drawing nigh to Jericho, a certain blind man was sitting by the wayside begging.
36 ജനക്കൂട്ടം കടന്നുപോകുന്നതു കേട്ട്, എന്താണു സംഭവമെന്ന് അയാൾ തിരക്കി.
And hearing the multitude passing by, he inquired what it might be.
37 അവർ അയാളോട്, “നസറായനായ യേശു ഈവഴി പോകുന്നു” എന്നറിയിച്ചു.
And they told him that Jesus the Nazarene is going along.
38 അയാൾ, “യേശുവേ, ദാവീദുപുത്രാ, അടിയനോട് കരുണതോന്നണമേ” എന്നു നിലവിളിച്ചു.
And he cried out saying, Jesus, thou son of David, have mercy on me.
39 ജനക്കൂട്ടത്തിന്റെ മുമ്പിൽ നടന്നുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നവർ അയാളെ ശാസിച്ചുകൊണ്ട്, മിണ്ടരുതെന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. എന്നാൽ അയാൾ അധികം ഉച്ചത്തിൽ, “ദാവീദുപുത്രാ, അടിയനോട് കരുണതോന്നണമേ” എന്നു നിലവിളിച്ചു.
And the passersby continued to rebuke him, that he should keep silent: but he continued to cry out much more, O thou son of David, have mercy on me.
40 ഇതു കേട്ടിട്ട് യേശു നിന്നു. ആ മനുഷ്യനെ തന്റെ അടുക്കൽ കൊണ്ടുവരാൻ കൽപ്പിച്ചു. അയാൾ അടുത്തുവന്നപ്പോൾ യേശു,
And Jesus standing, commanded him to be led to Him; and he drawing nigh, He asked him,
41 “ഞാൻ നിനക്ക് എന്തു ചെയ്തുതരണമെന്നാണ് നീ ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നത്?” എന്ന് അയാളോടു ചോദിച്ചു. “എനിക്കു കാഴ്ച കിട്ടണം, കർത്താവേ,” അയാൾ ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.
What do you wish that I shall do to you? And he said, Lord, that I may look up.
42 “നീ കാഴ്ചയുള്ളവനാകട്ടെ; നിന്റെ വിശ്വാസം നിന്നെ സൗഖ്യമാക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു,” എന്ന് യേശു അയാളോടു പറഞ്ഞു.
And Jesus said to him, Look up: thy faith hath saved thee.
43 ഉടൻതന്നെ അയാൾക്ക് കാഴ്ച ലഭിച്ചു. അയാൾ തുടർന്ന് ദൈവത്തെ മഹത്ത്വപ്പെടുത്തിക്കൊണ്ട് യേശുവിനെ അനുഗമിച്ചു. ഇതുകണ്ട ജനമെല്ലാം ദൈവത്തെ സ്തുതിച്ചു.
And immediately he looked up, and followed Him, glorifying God: and all the people, seeing, gave praise to God.
