ലൂക്കോസ് 15
1 നികുതിപിരിവുകാരും കുപ്രസിദ്ധപാപികളും യേശുവിന്റെ വചനം കേൾക്കാൻ വന്നുകൂടി.
Now all the tax collectors and sinners ·devoted to missing the mark and without share in the goal· were coming close to him to hear him.
2 എന്നാൽ, പരീശന്മാരും വേദജ്ഞരും പിറുപിറുത്തുകൊണ്ട്, “ഈ മനുഷ്യൻ പാപികളെ സ്വീകരിച്ച് അവരോടൊപ്പം ആഹാരം കഴിക്കുന്നു” എന്നു വിമർശിച്ചു.
The Pharisees [Separated] and the Torah-Teachers murmured, saying, “This man welcomes sinners ·devoted to missing the mark and without share in the goal·, and eats with them.”
3 അപ്പോൾ യേശു അവരോട് ഈ സാദൃശ്യകഥ പറഞ്ഞു:
He told them this parable.
4 “നിങ്ങളിൽ നൂറ് ആടുകളുള്ള ഒരാൾ, അവയിൽ ഒന്നിനെ കാണാതെപോയാൽ, അയാൾ തൊണ്ണൂറ്റിയൊൻപതിനെയും വിജനപ്രദേശത്തു വിട്ടിട്ടു നഷ്ടമായതിനെ കണ്ടെത്തുന്നതുവരെ അന്വേഷിച്ചു പോകുകയില്ലേ?
“Which of you men, if you had one hundred sheep, and lost one of them, wouldn’t leave the ninety-nine in the wilderness, and go after the one that was lost, until he found it?
5 കണ്ടെത്തുമ്പോൾ അയാൾ അതിനെ ആനന്ദത്തോടെ തോളിലേറ്റി ഭവനത്തിലേക്കു മടങ്ങും.
When he has found it, he carries it on his shoulders, rejoicing.
6 പിന്നെ അയാൾ, സ്നേഹിതരെയും അയൽക്കാരെയും വിളിച്ചുകൂട്ടി അവരോട്, ‘എന്നോടുകൂടെ ആനന്ദിക്കുക, എന്റെ നഷ്ടപ്പെട്ട ആടിനെ കണ്ടുകിട്ടിയിരിക്കുന്നു’ എന്നു പറയും.
When he comes home, he calls together his friends and his neighbors, saying to them, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep which was lost!’
7 ഇതുപോലെതന്നെ മാനസാന്തരത്തിന്റെ ആവശ്യമില്ലാത്ത തൊണ്ണൂറ്റിയൊൻപതു നീതിനിഷ്ഠരെക്കുറിച്ച് ഉള്ളതിനെക്കാൾ അധികം ആനന്ദം മാനസാന്തരപ്പെടുന്ന ഒരു പാപിയെക്കുറിച്ച് സ്വർഗത്തിലുണ്ടാകും എന്നു ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.
I tell you that even so there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner ·devoted to missing the mark and without share in the goal· who does teshuvah ·turn repent·, than over ninety-nine upright people who need no teshuvah ·complete repentance·.
8 “പത്ത് വെള്ളിനാണയങ്ങളുള്ള ഒരു സ്ത്രീ തന്റെ ഒരു നാണയം കാണാതെപോയാൽ, അതു കണ്ടുകിട്ടുന്നതുവരെ വിളക്കു കത്തിച്ചു വീട് അടിച്ചുവാരി വളരെ ശ്രദ്ധയോടെ അന്വേഷിക്കുകയില്ലേ?
Or what woman, if she had ten drachma [est. 0.35 oz; est. 10 g] coins, if she lost one drachma [est. 0.035 oz; est. 1 g] coin, wouldn’t light a lamp, sweep the house, and seek diligently until she found it?
9 അതു കണ്ടുകിട്ടുമ്പോൾ അവൾ കൂട്ടുകാരികളെയും അയൽക്കാരികളെയും വിളിച്ചുകൂട്ടി, ‘എന്നോടുകൂടെ ആനന്ദിക്കുക, നഷ്ടപ്പെട്ടുപോയ എന്റെ വെള്ളിനാണയം ഇതാ കണ്ടുകിട്ടിയിരിക്കുന്നു’ എന്നു പറയും.
When she has found it, she calls together her friends and neighbors, saying, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found the drachma [est. 0.035 oz; est. 1 g] which I had lost.’
10 അതുപോലെതന്നെ, മാനസാന്തരപ്പെടുന്ന ഒരു പാപിയെക്കുറിച്ചു ദൈവദൂതന്മാരുടെ സന്നിധിയിൽ ആനന്ദോത്സവമുണ്ടാകും.”
Even so, I tell you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner ·devoted to missing the mark and without share in the goal· making teshuvah ·complete repentance·.”
11 യേശു തുടർന്നു പറഞ്ഞത്: “രണ്ട് പുത്രന്മാരുള്ള ഒരു മനുഷ്യനുണ്ടായിരുന്നു.
He said, “A certain man had two sons.
12 അവരിൽ ഇളയമകൻ പിതാവിനോട്, ‘അപ്പാ, സ്വത്തിൽ എനിക്ക് അവകാശപ്പെട്ട വീതം തരണം’ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. അയാൾ തന്റെ വസ്തുവകകൾ മക്കൾക്കു വീതംവെച്ചു കൊടുത്തു.
The younger of them said to his father, ‘Abba ·Father familiar, Dear Dad·, give me my share of your property.’ He divided his livelihood between them.
13 “ദിവസങ്ങളേറെ കഴിയുംമുമ്പേ, ഇളയമകൻ തനിക്കുള്ളതെല്ലാം പണമാക്കിമാറ്റി ദൂരദേശത്തേക്കു യാത്രയായി; അവിടെ കുത്തഴിഞ്ഞ ജീവിതം നയിച്ചു തനിക്കുള്ളതെല്ലാം ധൂർത്തടിച്ചു.
Not many days after, the younger son gathered all of this together and traveled into a far country. There he wasted his property with riotous living.
14 അവന്റെ കൈയിലുള്ളതെല്ലാം ചെലവായിപ്പോയശേഷം, ആ ദേശത്തെല്ലായിടത്തും കഠിനക്ഷാമം ഉണ്ടായി. അവന്റെ കൈവശം ഒന്നുമില്ലാതെയായി.
When he had spent all of it, there arose a severe famine in that country, and he began to be in need.
15 ആ ദേശനിവാസിയായ ഒരു മനുഷ്യന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ചെന്ന് യാചിച്ചപ്പോൾ അയാൾ തന്റെ പന്നികളെ മേയിക്കാൻ അവനെ വയലിലേക്ക് അയച്ചു.
He went and joined himself to one of the citizens of that country, and he sent him into his fields to feed pigs.
16 പന്നികൾക്കുള്ള തീറ്റകൊണ്ടെങ്കിലും വയറുനിറയ്ക്കാൻ അയാൾ കൊതിച്ചുപോയി. എന്നാൽ അവന് ആരും ഒന്നും ഭക്ഷിക്കാൻ കൊടുത്തില്ല.
He wanted to fill his belly with the husks that the pigs ate, but no one gave him any.
17 “അപ്പോൾ അവനു ബോധം തെളിഞ്ഞു: ‘എന്റെ പിതാവിന്റെ എത്രയോ വേലക്കാർ മൃഷ്ടാന്നഭോജനം കഴിഞ്ഞ് ബാക്കിവെക്കുന്നു; ഞാനോ ഇവിടെ പട്ടിണികിടന്ന് മരിക്കാൻ തുടങ്ങുന്നു.’
But when he came to himself he said, ‘How many hired servants of my Abba ·Father familiar, Dear Dad· have bread enough to spare, and I’m dying with hunger!
18 ഞാൻ പുറപ്പെട്ട് എന്റെ പിതാവിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ മടങ്ങിച്ചെന്ന് പിതാവിനോട്, ‘അപ്പാ, ഞാൻ സ്വർഗത്തോടും അപ്പനോടും പാപംചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു;
I will get up and go to my Abba ·Father familiar, Dear Dad·, and will tell him, “Abba ·Father·, I have committed sin ·miss the mark and be without share· against heaven, and in your sight.
19 ഇനി അപ്പന്റെ മകൻ എന്ന പേരിന് ഞാൻ അർഹനല്ല; ഇവിടത്തെ കൂലിവേലക്കാരിൽ ഒരുത്തനെപ്പോലെ എന്നെ സ്വീകരിക്കണമേ’ എന്നു പറയും.
I am no more worthy to be called your son. Make me as one of your hired servants.”’
20 അങ്ങനെ, അയാൾ എഴുന്നേറ്റ് തന്റെ പിതാവിന്റെ അടുത്തേക്കു യാത്രയായി. “വളരെ ദൂരെവെച്ചുതന്നെ പിതാവ് അവനെ കണ്ടു, അവനോടു സഹതാപം തോന്നി; അദ്ദേഹം ഓടിച്ചെന്ന് അവനെ ആലിംഗനംചെയ്തു ചുംബിച്ചു.
“He arose, and came to his father. But while he was still far off, his father saw him, and was moved with compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him.
21 “ആ മകൻ അദ്ദേഹത്തോട്, ‘അപ്പാ, ഞാൻ സ്വർഗത്തോടും അപ്പനോടും പാപംചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു; ഇനി അപ്പന്റെ മകൻ എന്ന പേരിന് ഞാൻ അർഹനല്ല’ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
The son said to him, ‘Abba ·Father·, I have committed sin ·miss the mark and be without share· against heaven, and in your sight. I am no longer worthy to be called your son.’
22 “എന്നാൽ ആ പിതാവ് തന്റെ ഭൃത്യന്മാരോട്, ‘വേഗം ഏറ്റവും നല്ല വസ്ത്രം കൊണ്ടുവന്ന് ഇവനെ ധരിപ്പിക്കുക. ഇവന്റെ വിരലിൽ മോതിരം അണിയിക്കുക കാലിൽ ചെരിപ്പ് ഇടുവിക്കുക.
“But the Abba father said to his servants, ‘Bring out the best robe, and put it on him. Put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet.
23 വിശേഷദിവസങ്ങൾക്കായി വളർത്തിക്കൊണ്ടുവന്ന കാളക്കിടാവിനെ കൊണ്ടുവന്ന് അറക്കുക; നമുക്ക് വിരുന്നു കഴിച്ച് ആഘോഷിക്കാം.
Bring the fattened calf, kill it, and let us eat, and celebrate;
24 എന്റെ ഈ മകൻ മരിച്ചവനായിരുന്നു; വീണ്ടും ജീവിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു. ഇവൻ നഷ്ടപ്പെട്ടവനായിരുന്നു; എനിക്കിവനെ തിരികെ കിട്ടിയിരിക്കുന്നു’ അങ്ങനെ അവരുടെ ആഘോഷം തുടങ്ങി.
for this, my son, was dead, and is alive again. He was lost, and is found.’ They began to celebrate.
25 “എന്നാൽ, ഇതെല്ലാം സംഭവിച്ചപ്പോൾ മൂത്തമകൻ വയലിൽ ആയിരുന്നു. അയാൾ വീടിനോട് അടുത്തുവന്നപ്പോൾ നൃത്തത്തിന്റെയും സംഗീതത്തിന്റെയും ഘോഷം കേട്ടു.
“Now his elder son was in the field. As he came near to the house, he heard music and dancing.
26 അയാൾ വേലക്കാരിൽ ഒരാളെ വിളിച്ച് എന്താണ് അവിടെ നടക്കുന്നതെന്ന് അന്വേഷിച്ചു.
He called one of the servants to him, and asked what was going on.
27 ‘താങ്കളുടെ സഹോദരൻ വന്നിരിക്കുന്നു, അയാൾ സസുഖം മടങ്ങിയെത്തിയതുകൊണ്ട് അങ്ങയുടെ പിതാവ് കൊഴുത്ത കാളക്കിടാവിനെ അറത്തിരിക്കുന്നു,’ എന്ന് ആ വേലക്കാരൻ ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.
He said to him, ‘Your brother has come, and your father has killed the fattened calf, because he has received him back safe and healthy.’
28 “അപ്പോൾ മൂത്തമകൻ കോപം പൂണ്ട്, വീടിനുള്ളിലേക്ക് കടക്കാൻപോലും വിസമ്മതിച്ചു. പിതാവു പുറത്തുചെന്ന് അവനോടു കേണപേക്ഷിച്ചെങ്കിലും
But he was angry, and would not go in. Therefore his father came out, and begged him.
29 അയാൾ പിതാവിനോട് ഇങ്ങനെ പറഞ്ഞു: ‘നോക്കൂ ഇത്രയും വർഷങ്ങളായി ഞാൻ അപ്പന് അടിമപ്പണി ചെയ്യുകയായിരുന്നു. ഒരിക്കൽപോലും അപ്പന്റെ ആജ്ഞകൾ അനുസരിക്കാതിരുന്നിട്ടില്ല. എങ്കിലും എന്റെ കൂട്ടുകാരോടൊത്ത് ആഘോഷിക്കാൻ ഒരിക്കലെങ്കിലും അപ്പൻ എനിക്കൊരു കുട്ടിയാടിനെ തന്നിട്ടില്ലല്ലോ.
But he answered his Abba father, ‘Behold, these many years I have served you, and I never disobeyed a commandment of yours, but you never gave me a goat, that I might celebrate with my friends.
30 എന്നാൽ, വേശ്യമാരോടുകൂടെ അപ്പന്റെ സമ്പാദ്യമെല്ലാം തുലച്ചുകളഞ്ഞ അങ്ങയുടെ ഈ മകൻ വീട്ടിൽ വന്നപ്പോൾ, കൊഴുത്ത കാളക്കിടാവിനെ അവനുവേണ്ടി അറത്തിരിക്കുന്നല്ലോ!’
But when this, your son, came, who has devoured your living with prostitutes, you killed the fattened calf for him.’
31 “അപ്പോൾ പിതാവ്, ‘മോനേ, നീ എപ്പോഴും എന്റെകൂടെ ഉണ്ടല്ലോ. എനിക്കുള്ളതെല്ലാം നിന്റേതല്ലേ.
“He said to him, ‘Son, you are always with me, and all that is mine is yours.
32 നാം ആനന്ദിക്കുകയും ആഘോഷിക്കുകയുമല്ലേ വേണ്ടത്, കാരണം നിന്റെ ഈ സഹോദരൻ മരിച്ചവനായിരുന്നു; വീണ്ടും ജീവിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു. ഇവൻ നഷ്ടപ്പെട്ടവനായിരുന്നു; ഇപ്പോൾ തിരികെ കിട്ടിയിരിക്കുന്നു’” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
But it was appropriate to celebrate and be glad, for this, your brother, was dead, and is alive again. He was lost, and is found.’”
