ലേവ്യപുസ്തകം 26
1 “‘നിങ്ങൾക്കായി വിഗ്രഹങ്ങൾ ഉണ്ടാക്കുകയോ ഒരു ബിംബമോ ആചാരസ്തൂപമോ സ്ഥാപിക്കുകയോ ചെയ്യരുത്. അതിന്റെ മുമ്പിൽ വണങ്ങാനായി നിങ്ങളുടെ ദേശത്തു കൊത്തിയ കല്ലു നാട്ടുകയും ചെയ്യരുത്. ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ ആകുന്നു.
Ye shall not make yourselves any idols, and a graven image, or a standing image shall ye not rear up unto you, and any carved stone shall you not place in your land, to bow down upon it; for I am the Eternal your God.
2 “‘എന്റെ ശബ്ബത്തുകൾ പ്രമാണിക്കുകയും എന്റെ വിശുദ്ധമന്ദിരത്തോടു ഭയഭക്തിയുള്ളവരായിരിക്കുകയും വേണം. ഞാൻ യഹോവ ആകുന്നു.
My sabbaths shall ye keep, and my sanctuary shall ye reverence: I am the Lord.
3 “‘എന്റെ ഉത്തരവുകൾ നിങ്ങൾ പാലിക്കയും എന്റെ കൽപ്പനകൾ സസൂക്ഷ്മം അനുസരിക്കയും ചെയ്യുമെങ്കിൽ,
If in my statutes ye walk, and if my commandments ye keep, and do them:
4 തക്കസമയത്തു ഞാൻ മഴ അയയ്ക്കും; ഭൂമി അതിന്റെ വിളവും വൃക്ഷം അവയുടെ ഫലവും തരും.
Then will I give you rains in their due season, and the earth shall yield her products, and the tree of the field shall yield its fruit.
5 നിങ്ങളുടെ കറ്റമെതിക്കുന്ന കാലം മുന്തിരിപ്പഴം ശേഖരിക്കുന്ന കാലംവരെയും മുന്തിരിപ്പഴം ശേഖരിക്കുന്നത് വിതയ്ക്കുന്ന കാലംവരെയും തുടരും. നിങ്ങൾക്കു വേണ്ടുംപോലെ ഭക്ഷിച്ചു സുരക്ഷിതരായി നിങ്ങളുടെ ദേശത്തുപാർക്കും.
And the threshing shall reach with you unto the vintage, and the vintage shall reach unto sowing-time; and ye shall eat your bread to the full, and ye shall dwell in safety in your land.
6 “‘ഞാൻ ദേശത്തു സമാധാനം തരും. നിങ്ങൾ കിടന്നുറങ്ങും; ആരും നിങ്ങളെ ഭയപ്പെടുത്തുകയില്ല. ഞാൻ ദുഷ്ടമൃഗങ്ങളെ ദേശത്തുനിന്നു നീക്കിക്കളയും. വാൾ നിങ്ങളുടെ ദേശത്തുകൂടെ കടക്കുകയില്ല.
And I will give peace in the land, and ye shall lie down, with none to make you afraid; and I will remove evil beasts out of the land, and the sword shall not pass through your land.
7 നിങ്ങളുടെ ശത്രുക്കളെ നിങ്ങൾ തുരത്തും. അവർ നിങ്ങളുടെമുമ്പിൽ വാളിനാൽ വീഴും.
And ye shall chase your enemies, and they shall fall before you by the sword.
8 നിങ്ങളിൽ അഞ്ചുപേർ നൂറുപേരെ ഓടിക്കും. നിങ്ങളിൽ നൂറുപേർ പതിനായിരംപേരെ ഓടിക്കും. നിങ്ങളുടെ ശത്രുക്കൾ നിങ്ങളുടെമുമ്പിൽ വാളിനാൽ വീഴും.
And five of you shall chase a hundred, and a hundred of you shall chase ten thousand; and your enemies shall fall before you by the sword.
9 “‘ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളെ കടാക്ഷിച്ച് സന്താനപുഷ്ടിയുള്ളവരാക്കി എണ്ണത്തിൽ പെരുകുമാറാക്കും; നിങ്ങളോടുള്ള എന്റെ ഉടമ്പടി ഞാൻ പാലിക്കും.
And I will turn myself unto you, and make you fruitful, and multiply you; and I will establish my covenant with you.
10 നിങ്ങൾ പഴയ ധാന്യശേഖരത്തിൽനിന്നു ഭക്ഷിക്കുകയും പുതിയവയ്ക്കുവേണ്ടി പഴയത് മാറ്റിക്കളയുകയും ചെയ്യും.
And ye shall eat very old store, and the old shall ye remove away because of the new.
11 ഞാൻ എന്റെ നിവാസം നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയിലാക്കും. ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളെ വെറുക്കുകയില്ല.
And I will set my dwelling among you; and my soul shall not loath you.
12 ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയിൽ നടക്കുകയും നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായിരിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യും, നിങ്ങൾ എന്റെ ജനമായിരിക്കും.
And I will walk among you, and I will be to you a God, and ye shall be to me a people.
13 നിങ്ങൾ ഇനിയും ഈജിപ്റ്റുകാരുടെ അടിമകളാകാതിരിക്കാൻ നിങ്ങളെ ഈജിപ്റ്റിൽനിന്ന് പുറത്തുകൊണ്ടുവന്ന നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ ആകുന്നു ഞാൻ. നിങ്ങൾ തലയുയർത്തി നിവർന്നു നടക്കേണ്ടതിന് ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളുടെ അടിമത്തത്തിന്റെ നുകക്കൈകൾ ഒടിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു.
I am the Eternal your God, who have brought you forth out of the land of Egypt, that ye should not be their bond-men; and I have broken the bands of your yoke, and caused you to walk upright.
14 “‘എന്നാൽ നിങ്ങൾ എന്റെ വാക്കു കേൾക്കാതെയും ഈ കൽപ്പനകളെല്ലാം പ്രമാണിക്കാതെയും
But if ye will not hearken unto me, and will not do all these commandments;
15 എന്റെ ഉത്തരവുകൾ തള്ളിക്കളയുകയും എന്റെ നിയമങ്ങൾ വെറുക്കുകയുംചെയ്ത് എന്റെ കൽപ്പനകളെല്ലാം പ്രമാണിക്കാതെ എന്റെ ഉടമ്പടി ലംഘിച്ചാൽ,
And if my statutes ye despise, and if my ordinances your soul loath, so as not to do all my commandments, in that ye break my covenant:
16 ഇപ്രകാരം ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു ചെയ്യും: നിങ്ങളുടെ കാഴ്ച നശിപ്പിക്കുകയും ആരോഗ്യം ഇല്ലാതാക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്ന, പെട്ടെന്നുള്ള ഉഗ്രഭയം, മഹാവ്യാധി, ജ്വരം എന്നിവ ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളുടെമേൽ വരുത്തും. നിങ്ങൾ വെറുതേ വിത്തു വിതയ്ക്കും, അതു നിങ്ങളുടെ ശത്രുക്കൾ തിന്നുകളയും.
Then will I also do this unto you, and I will inflict on you terror, consumption, and the burning ague, that consume the eyes, and cause sorrow of heart; and ye shall sow in vain your seed, for your enemies shall eat it.
17 നിങ്ങളുടെ ശത്രുക്കൾ നിങ്ങളെ തോൽപ്പിക്കത്തക്കവിധം എന്റെ മുഖം നിങ്ങൾക്കു വിരോധമാക്കും; നിങ്ങളെ പകയ്ക്കുന്നവർ നിങ്ങളെ ഭരിക്കും; ആരും ഓടിക്കാതെതന്നെ നിങ്ങൾ ഓടിപ്പോകും.
And I will set my face against you, and ye shall be struck down before your enemies: and they that hate you shall bear rule over you; and ye shall flee while there is no one pursuing you.
18 “‘ഇതിനെല്ലാം ശേഷവും നിങ്ങൾ എന്റെ വാക്കു കേൾക്കുന്നില്ലെങ്കിൽ, ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളുടെ പാപങ്ങൾനിമിത്തം നിങ്ങളെ ഏഴുമടങ്ങു ശിക്ഷിക്കും.
And if with these things even ye will not yet hearken unto me: then will I chastise you yet more, sevenfold for your sins.
19 നിങ്ങളുടെ ദുശ്ശാഠ്യമുള്ള ഗർവ് ഞാൻ തകർക്കും; നിങ്ങൾക്കുമീതേയുള്ള ആകാശത്തെ ഇരുമ്പുപോലെയും കീഴേയുള്ള ഭൂമിയെ വെള്ളോടുപോലെയും ആക്കും.
And I will break the pride of your power; and I will make your heaven as iron, and your earth as copper:
20 നിങ്ങളുടെ ശക്തി ഞാൻ നിഷ്ഫലമാക്കും; കാരണം നിങ്ങളുടെ മണ്ണു വിളവു തരികയില്ല, ദേശത്തിലെ വൃക്ഷങ്ങൾ അവയുടെ ഫലം തരികയുമില്ല.
And in vain shall your strength be spent; for your land shall not yield her products, and the tree of the land shall not yield its fruit.
21 “‘നിങ്ങൾ എനിക്കു വിരോധമായി നടന്ന് എന്റെ വാക്കു കേൾക്കാതിരുന്നാൽ, നിങ്ങളുടെ പാപങ്ങൾക്കു തക്കവിധം നിങ്ങളുടെ ബാധകളെ ഞാൻ ഏഴിരട്ടിയാക്കും.
And if ye walk yet contrary unto me, and if you refuse to hearken unto me: then will I bring more plagues upon you, sevenfold according to your sins.
22 ഞാൻ നിങ്ങൾക്കു വിരോധമായി വന്യമൃഗങ്ങളെ അയയ്ക്കും. അവ നിങ്ങളെ കുഞ്ഞുങ്ങളില്ലാത്തവരാക്കും; നിങ്ങളുടെ കന്നുകാലികളെ നശിപ്പിക്കും; നിങ്ങളുടെ നിരത്തുകൾ വിജനമാകത്തക്കവിധം നിങ്ങളെ എണ്ണത്തിൽ കുറയ്ക്കും.
And I will send out against you the beasts of the field, which shall rob you of your children, and destroy your cattle, and diminish yourselves; so that your roads shall be desolate.
23 “‘ഇവയെല്ലാറ്റിനുശേഷവും നിങ്ങൾ എന്റെ ശിക്ഷണം സ്വീകരിക്കാതെ എന്നോടു വിരോധമായിരിക്കുന്നെങ്കിൽ,
And if notwithstanding these things ye will not be reformed by me, and walk contrary unto me:
24 ഞാനും നിങ്ങളോടു വിരോധമായിരുന്ന് നിങ്ങളുടെ പാപങ്ങൾക്കു തക്കവണ്ണം നിങ്ങളെ ഏഴുമടങ്ങു പീഡിപ്പിക്കും.
Then will I also walk contrary unto you, and I also will punish you, sevenfold for your sins.
25 എന്റെ ഉടമ്പടി ലംഘിച്ചതിനു പ്രതികാരംചെയ്യാൻ, ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളുടെമേൽ വാൾ വരുത്തും. നിങ്ങൾ നിങ്ങളുടെ നഗരങ്ങളിലേക്കു പിൻവാങ്ങുമ്പോൾ ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയിൽ ഒരു ബാധ അയയ്ക്കും. നിങ്ങളെ ശത്രുവിന്റെ കൈയിൽ ഏൽപ്പിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യും.
And I will bring over you the sword, avenging the quarrel of my covenant, so that ye shall be gathered together within your cities; and then will I send the pestilence among you, that ye shall deliver yourselves into the hand of the enemy;
26 ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളുടെ അപ്പത്തിന്റെ അളവു കുറയ്ക്കുമ്പോൾ പത്തു സ്ത്രീകൾ ഒരടുപ്പിൽ നിങ്ങളുടെ അപ്പം ചുടും. അവർ അൽപ്പാൽപ്പം അപ്പം തൂക്കിത്തരും. നിങ്ങൾ തിന്നും, എന്നാൽ നിങ്ങൾക്കു തൃപ്തിയാകുകയില്ല.
When I break unto you the staff of bread; and ten women shall bake your bread in one oven, and they shall deliver your bread again by weight; and ye shall eat, and not be satisfied.
27 “‘ഇതെല്ലാമായിട്ടും നിങ്ങൾ എന്റെ വാക്കു കേൾക്കാതെ എന്നോടു വിരോധമായിരുന്നാൽ,
And if notwithstanding this ye will not hearken unto me, but walk contrary unto me:
28 ഞാനും എന്റെ കോപത്തിൽ നിങ്ങൾക്കു വിരോധമായിരിക്കും. നിങ്ങളുടെ പാപങ്ങൾനിമിത്തം ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളെ ഏഴുമടങ്ങു ശിക്ഷിക്കും.
Then will I also walk contrary unto you in fury; and I, even I, will chastise you, sevenfold for your sins.
29 നിങ്ങളുടെ പുത്രന്മാരുടെ മാംസവും നിങ്ങളുടെ പുത്രിമാരുടെ മാംസവും നിങ്ങൾ തിന്നും.
And ye shall eat the flesh of your sons, and the flesh of your daughters shall ye eat.
30 നിങ്ങൾ യാഗമർപ്പിക്കുന്ന ക്ഷേത്രങ്ങൾ ഞാൻ നശിപ്പിക്കും. ധൂപപീഠങ്ങളെ വെട്ടിക്കളയുകയും നിങ്ങളുടെ ശവശരീരങ്ങൾ നിങ്ങളുടെ നിർജീവ വിഗ്രഹങ്ങളുടെമേൽ കൂമ്പാരമാക്കുകയും ചെയ്യും; ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളെ കഠിനമായി വെറുക്കും.
And I will destroy your high-places, and cut down your sun-images, and cast your carcasses upon the carcasses of your idols; and my soul shall loath you.
31 ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളുടെ നഗരങ്ങളെ പാഴിടങ്ങളും നിങ്ങളുടെ വിശുദ്ധമന്ദിരത്തെ ശൂന്യവുമാക്കും. നിങ്ങളുടെ യാഗങ്ങളിലെ ഹൃദ്യസുഗന്ധത്തിൽ ഞാൻ പ്രസാദിക്കുകയില്ല.
And I will render your cities a waste, and I will make desolate your sanctuaries, and I will not smell the savor of your sweet odors.
32 അവിടെ ജീവിക്കുന്ന നിങ്ങളുടെ ശത്രുക്കൾ ആശ്ചര്യപ്പെടത്തക്കവിധം ഞാൻതന്നെ നിങ്ങളുടെ ദേശത്തെ ശൂന്യമാക്കും.
And I will surely make desolate the land: and your enemies who dwell therein shall be astonished at it.
33 ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളെ ജനതകളുടെ ഇടയിൽ ചിതറിക്കുകയും എന്റെ വാളൂരി നിങ്ങളെ തുരത്തുകയും ചെയ്യും. നിങ്ങളുടെ ദേശം ശൂന്യമായിക്കിടക്കും. നിങ്ങളുടെ നഗരങ്ങൾ പാഴിടങ്ങളായിത്തീരും.
And you will I scatter among the nations, and I will draw out after you the sword; and your land shall be a desolate wild, and your cities shall be a waste.
34 നിങ്ങളുടെ ദേശം നിർജനമായിക്കിടക്കുകയും നിങ്ങൾ നിങ്ങളുടെ ശത്രുരാജ്യത്തിന്റേതായിരിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്ന കാലമൊക്കെയും ദേശം അതിനു ലഭിക്കാതിരുന്ന ശബ്ബത്തുവർഷങ്ങൾ ആസ്വദിക്കും; അപ്പോൾ ദേശം വിശ്രമിച്ച് അതിന്റെ ശബ്ബത്ത് ആസ്വദിക്കും.
Then shall the land satisfy its sabbaths, all the days of its desolation, when ye are in the land of your enemies: then shall the land rest, and satisfy its sabbaths.
35 നിങ്ങൾ അതിൽ താമസിച്ചിരുന്നകാലത്ത് നിങ്ങളുടെ ശബ്ബത്തുകളിൽ അതിനില്ലാതിരുന്ന വിശ്രമം അതു നിർജനമായിക്കിടക്കുന്ന കാലമൊക്കെയും അതിനുണ്ടാകും.
All the days of its desolation shall it rest, the time which it did not rest in your sabbaths, when ye dwelt upon it.
36 “‘നിങ്ങളിൽ ശേഷിക്കുന്നവരുടെ ഹൃദയങ്ങളിൽ ശത്രുരാജ്യത്തിൽവെച്ച് ഞാൻ ഭീതിവരുത്തും; കാറ്റിൽ പറക്കുന്ന ഇലയുടെ ശബ്ദം കേൾക്കുമ്പോൾ ആരും അവരെ പിൻതുടരുന്നില്ലെങ്കിലും വാളിൽനിന്ന് ഒഴിഞ്ഞ് ഓടുന്നവരെപ്പോലെ അവർ ഓടുകയും വീഴുകയും ചെയ്യും.
And regarding those that are left of you, I will send a faintness into their hearts in the lands of their enemies; and the sound of a leaf shaken shall chase them; and they shall flee, as fleeing from the sword; and they shall fall with none pursuing.
37 ആരും അവരെ പിൻതുടരുന്നില്ലെങ്കിലും അവർ വാളിൽനിന്ന് ഓടുന്നവരെപ്പോലെ ഓടി ഒരാൾ മറ്റൊരാളുടെമേൽ തട്ടിവീഴും. ശത്രുക്കളുടെമുമ്പിൽ നിൽക്കാനുള്ള ശക്തി നിങ്ങൾക്കു ഉണ്ടാകുകയില്ല.
And they shall stumble one over the other, as before the sword, without one pursuing: and ye shall have no power to stand up before your enemies.
38 ജനതകളുടെ ഇടയിൽ നിങ്ങൾ നശിക്കും, നിങ്ങളുടെ ശത്രുക്കളുടെ ദേശം നിങ്ങളെ വിഴുങ്ങിക്കളയും.
And ye shall be lost among the nations, and the land of your enemies shall consume you.
39 നിങ്ങളിൽ ശേഷിച്ചവർ ശത്രുക്കളുടെ ദേശത്ത് തങ്ങളുടെ പാപംനിമിത്തം ക്ഷയിച്ചുപോകും; അവരുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരുടെ പാപംനിമിത്തവും അവർ ക്ഷയിച്ചുപോകും.
And they that are left of you shall pine away in their iniquity in the land of your enemies; and also through the iniquities of their fathers shall they pine away with them.
40 “‘എന്നാൽ അവർ, ഞാൻ അവരെ അവരുടെ ശത്രുക്കളുടെ രാജ്യത്തേക്ക് അയയ്ക്കത്തക്കവിധം എന്നെ അവർക്കു ശത്രുവാക്കിയ, അവരുടെ പാപങ്ങളെയും അവരുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരുടെ പാപങ്ങളെയും—എനിക്കു വിരോധമായുള്ള അവരുടെ ദ്രോഹങ്ങളെയും എന്നോടുള്ള അവരുടെ വിരോധത്തെയും—ഏറ്റുപറയുമെങ്കിൽ, അവരുടെ പരിച്ഛേദനമില്ലാത്ത ഹൃദയങ്ങൾ താഴ്ത്തുകയും അവരുടെ പാപത്തിനുള്ള ശിക്ഷ അനുഭവിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുമ്പോൾ,
And they shall then confess their iniquity, and the iniquity of their fathers, [that] through their trespass which they trespassed against me, and also that [because] they had walked contrary unto me:
I also had to walk contrary unto them, and to bring them into the land of their enemies; and then shall their uncircumcised heart be humbled, and then shall they satisfy their iniquity.
42 ഞാൻ യാക്കോബിനോടുള്ള എന്റെ ഉടമ്പടിയും യിസ്ഹാക്കിനോടുള്ള എന്റെ ഉടമ്പടിയും അബ്രാഹാമിനോടുള്ള എന്റെ ഉടമ്പടിയും ഓർക്കും; ഞാൻ ദേശത്തെ ഓർക്കും.
And I will then remember my covenant with Jacob, and also my covenant with Isaac, and also my covenant with Abraham will I remember; and the land will I remember.
43 ദേശം അവരാൽ പരിത്യജിക്കപ്പെട്ടിട്ട്, അത് അവരെക്കൂടാതെ വിജനമായിക്കിടന്നു ശബ്ബത്ത് അനുഭവിക്കും. എന്റെ നിയമങ്ങളെ തള്ളിക്കളയുകയും എന്റെ ഉത്തരവുകളെ വെറുക്കുകയും ചെയ്തതുകൊണ്ട് അവർ അവരുടെ പാപങ്ങളുടെ ശിക്ഷ അനുഭവിക്കണം.
For the land shall be forsaken by them, and shall satisfy its sabbaths, while it lieth desolate without them, and they shall satisfy their iniquity; because, even because my ordinances they despised, and my statutes their soul loathed.
44 ഇങ്ങനെയൊക്കെയാണെങ്കിലും അവർ അവരുടെ ശത്രുക്കളുടെ ദേശത്തായിരിക്കുമ്പോൾ ഞാൻ എന്റെ ഉടമ്പടിയും ലംഘിച്ചുകൊണ്ട്, അവരെ പൂർണമായി നശിപ്പിക്കത്തക്കവിധം അവരെ തള്ളിക്കളയുകയോ കഠിനമായി വെറുക്കുകയോ ചെയ്യുകയില്ല. ഞാൻ അവരുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ ആകുന്നു.
And yet for all that, though they be in the land of their enemies, will I not cast them away, neither will I loath them, to destroy them utterly, to break my covenant with them; for I am the Lord their God.
45 എന്നാൽ, ഞാൻ അവരുടെ ദൈവമായിരിക്കേണ്ടതിനു ജനതകൾ കാൺകെ അവരെ ഈജിപ്റ്റിൽനിന്ന് പുറപ്പെടുവിച്ചുകൊണ്ടുവന്ന അവരുടെ പൂർവികന്മാരുമായുള്ള എന്റെ ഉടമ്പടി, ഞാൻ അവർക്കുവേണ്ടി ഓർക്കും. ഞാൻ യഹോവ ആകുന്നു.’”
But I will remember for their sakes the covenant of their ancestors, whom I brought forth out of the land of Egypt before the eyes of the nations, that I might be unto them a God: I am the Lord.
46 യഹോവ സീനായിപർവതത്തിൽ തനിക്കും ഇസ്രായേല്യർക്കുംതമ്മിൽ മോശമുഖാന്തരം സ്ഥാപിച്ച ഉടമ്പടിയുടെ ഉത്തരവുകളും നിയമങ്ങളും പ്രമാണങ്ങളും ഇവയാണ്.
These are the statutes and ordinances and laws, which the Lord made between him and the children of Israel on mount Sinai, by the hand of Moses.
