ലേവ്യപുസ്തകം 20

1 യഹോവ മോശയോട് അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു:

And the Lord spake vnto Moses, saying,

2 “ഇസ്രായേൽമക്കളോടു പറയുക: ‘ഇസ്രായേല്യരോ ഇസ്രായേലിൽ പാർക്കുന്ന ഏതെങ്കിലും പ്രവാസിയോ തങ്ങളുടെ കുഞ്ഞുങ്ങളിൽ ഒന്നിനെയെങ്കിലും മോലെക്കിനു യാഗമർപ്പിച്ചാൽ ആ മനുഷ്യനെ വധിക്കണം. ദേശത്തിലെ ജനം അയാളെ കല്ലെറിയണം.

Thou shalt say also to the children of Israel, Whosoeuer he be of the children of Israel, or of the strangers that dwell in Israel, that giueth his children vnto Molech, he shall die the death, ye people of ye land shall stone him to death.

3 അയാൾ തന്റെ കുഞ്ഞുങ്ങളെ മോലെക്കിനു യാഗമർപ്പിച്ച് എന്റെ വിശുദ്ധമന്ദിരത്തെ മലിനമാക്കുകയും എന്റെ വിശുദ്ധനാമത്തെ നിന്ദിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തതുകൊണ്ടു ഞാൻ ആ മനുഷ്യനു വിരോധമായി എന്റെ മുഖംതിരിക്കുകയും അയാളെ സ്വജനത്തിൽനിന്ന് ഛേദിച്ചുകളയുകയും ചെയ്യും.

And I will set my face against that man and cut him off from among his people, because he hath giuen his children vnto Molech, for to defile my Sanctuarie, and to pollute mine holy Name.

4 ആ മനുഷ്യൻ തന്റെ കുഞ്ഞുങ്ങളിലൊന്നിനെ മോലെക്കിനു യാഗമർപ്പിക്കുമ്പോൾ ദേശത്തിലെ ജനം അയാളെ കൊല്ലാതെ കണ്ണടച്ചുകളഞ്ഞാൽ,

And if the people of the lande hide their eyes, and winke at that man when he giueth his children vnto Molech, and kill him not,

5 ഞാൻ ആ മനുഷ്യനും അയാളുടെ കുടുംബത്തിനും വിരോധമായി മുഖംതിരിച്ച് അയാളെയും മോലെക്കിനോടു പരസംഗം ചെയ്യുന്ന എല്ലാവരെയും അവരുടെ ജനത്തിൽനിന്ന് ഛേദിച്ചുകളയും.

Then will I set my face against that man, and against his familie, and will cut him off, and all that go a whoring after him to comit whoredome with Molech, from among their people.

6 “‘വെളിച്ചപ്പാടുകളിലേക്കും ഭൂതസേവക്കാരിലേക്കും തിരിഞ്ഞ് അവരെ അനുഗമിക്കുന്നതിലൂടെ പരസംഗം ചെയ്യുന്നവർക്കെതിരേ ഞാൻ മുഖംതിരിക്കുകയും സ്വജനത്തിൽനിന്ന് അവരെ ഛേദിച്ചുകളയുകയും ചെയ്യും.

If any turne after such as worke with spirits, and after soothsayers, to go a whoring after them, then will I set my face against that person, and will cut him off from among his people.

7 “‘ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ ആയതുകൊണ്ടു നിങ്ങളെത്തന്നെ ശുദ്ധീകരിച്ച് വിശുദ്ധരായിരിക്കുക.

Sanctifie your selues therefore, and be holie, for I am the Lord your God.

8 എന്റെ ഉത്തരവുകൾ പ്രമാണിച്ചു നടക്കുക. ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളെ വിശുദ്ധീകരിക്കുന്ന യഹോവ ആകുന്നു.

Keepe ye therefore mine ordinances, and doe them. I am the Lord which doeth sanctifie you.

9 “‘പിതാവിനെയോ മാതാവിനെയോ ശപിക്കുന്നയാൾ മരണശിക്ഷ അനുഭവിക്കണം. അയാൾ തന്റെ പിതാവിനെയോ മാതാവിനെയോ ശപിച്ചതുകൊണ്ട്; ആ കുറ്റത്തിന്റെ രക്തം അയാളുടെ തലമേലിരിക്കും.

If there be any that curseth his father or his mother, he shall die the death: seeing hee hath cursed his father and his mother, his blood shalbe vpon him.

10 “‘മറ്റൊരാളിന്റെ ഭാര്യയുമായി—തന്റെ അയൽക്കാരന്റെ ഭാര്യയുമായിത്തന്നെ—ഒരാൾ വ്യഭിചാരം ചെയ്താൽ, വ്യഭിചാരിയെയും വ്യഭിചാരിണിയെയും വധിക്കണം.

And the man that committeth adulterie with another mans wife, because he hath comitted adulterie with his neighbours wife, the adulterer and the adulteresse shall die the death.

11 “‘ഒരാൾ തന്റെ പിതാവിന്റെ ഭാര്യയുടെകൂടെ ലൈംഗികബന്ധത്തിലേർപ്പെട്ടാൽ, അയാൾ തന്റെ പിതാവിനെ അപമാനിക്കുന്നു; അവർ ഇരുവരും മരണശിക്ഷ അനുഭവിക്കണം. അവരുടെ രക്തം അവരുടെ തലമേലിരിക്കും.

And the man that lyeth with his fathers wife, because hee hath vncouered his fathers shame, they shall both dye: their blood shalbe vpon them.

12 “‘ഒരാൾ തന്റെ മരുമകളുടെകൂടെ ലൈംഗികബന്ധത്തിലേർപ്പെട്ടാൽ, അവരെ രണ്ടുപേരെയും കൊല്ലണം. അവരുടെ പ്രവൃത്തി നികൃഷ്ടം; അവരുടെ രക്തം അവരുടെ തലമേലിരിക്കും.

Also the man that lyeth with his daughter in lawe, they both shall dye the death, they haue wrought abomination, their blood shalbe vpon them.

13 “‘ഒരു പുരുഷൻ സ്ത്രീയുമായി ലൈംഗികബന്ധത്തിലേർപ്പെടുന്നതുപോലെ പുരുഷൻ പുരുഷനോടുകൂടെ കിടക്കപങ്കിട്ടാൽ, അവർ രണ്ടുപേരും അറപ്പായതു പ്രവർത്തിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു. അവരെ കൊല്ലണം; അവരുടെ രക്തം അവരുടെ തലമേലിരിക്കും.

The man also that lyeth with the male, as one lyeth with a woman, they haue both committed abomination: they shall dye the death, their blood shalbe vpon them.

14 “‘ഒരു പുരുഷൻ ഒരു സ്ത്രീയെയും അവളുടെ മാതാവിനെയും വിവാഹംകഴിച്ചാൽ, അതു ദുഷ്ടതയാണ്. നിങ്ങളുടെ മധ്യത്തിൽ ദുഷ്ടത ഇല്ലാതെയിരിക്കാൻ അയാളെയും ആ സ്ത്രീകളെയും തീയിൽ ദഹിപ്പിക്കണം.

Likewise he that taketh a wife and her mother, committeth wickednesse: they shall burne him and them with fire, that there be no wickednes among you.

15 “‘ഒരു പുരുഷൻ ഒരു മൃഗവുമായി ലൈംഗികബന്ധത്തിലേർപ്പെട്ടാൽ അയാളെ കൊല്ലണം, ആ മൃഗത്തെയും കൊല്ലണം.

Also the man that lyeth with a beast, shall dye the death, and ye shall slay the beast.

16 “‘ഒരു മൃഗത്തോടൊപ്പം ലൈംഗികബന്ധത്തിലേർപ്പെടേണ്ടതിന് ഒരു സ്ത്രീ അതിനെ സമീപിച്ചാൽ ആ സ്ത്രീയെയും മൃഗത്തെയും കൊല്ലണം. അവർ മരണശിക്ഷ അനുഭവിക്കണം; അവരുടെ രക്തം അവരുടെ തലമേലിരിക്കും.

And if a woman come to any beast, and lye therewith, then thou shalt kill the woman and the beast: they shall die the death, their blood shalbe vpon them.

17 “‘ഒരു പുരുഷൻ തന്റെ പിതാവിന്റെയോ മാതാവിന്റെയോ മകളായ തന്റെ സഹോദരിയെ വിവാഹംകഴിക്കുകയും അവർ പരസ്പരം ലൈംഗികബന്ധത്തിലേർപ്പെടുകയും ചെയ്താൽ അതു നിന്ദ്യം. അവരെ അവരുടെ ജനത്തിന്റെ കണ്മുന്നിൽവെച്ചുതന്നെ വധിക്കണം. അവൻ തന്റെ സഹോദരിയെ അപമാനിച്ചു, അവൻ കുറ്റക്കാരനായിരിക്കും.

Also the man that taketh his sister, his fathers daughter, or his mothers daughter, and seeth her shame and she seeth his shame, it is villenie: therefore they shall be cut off in the sight of their people, because he hath vncouered his sisters shame, he shall beare his iniquitie.

18 “‘ഒരു പുരുഷൻ ഋതുമതിയായ ഒരു സ്ത്രീയോടുകൂടെ ലൈംഗികബന്ധത്തിലേർപ്പെട്ടാൽ, അവൻ അവളുടെ സ്രവത്തിന്റെ ഉറവിടം അനാവൃതമാക്കി; അവളും അത് അനാവൃതമാക്കി. അവർ രണ്ടുപേരെയും അവരുടെ ജനത്തിൽനിന്ന് ഛേദിച്ചുകളയണം.

The man also that lyeth with a woman hauing her disease, and vncouereth her shame, and openeth her fountaine, and she open the foutaine of her blood, they shall bee euen both cut off from among their people.

19 “‘നിന്റെ മാതാവിന്റെയോ പിതാവിന്റെയോ സഹോദരിയുമായി ലൈംഗികബന്ധത്തിലേർപ്പെടരുത്, അത് അടുത്ത ബന്ധുക്കാരിയെ അപമാനിക്കലാണ്, നിങ്ങൾ ഇരുവരും കുറ്റക്കാരായിരിക്കും.

Moreouer thou shalt not vncouer the shame of thy mothers sister, nor of thy fathers sister: because he hath vncouered his kin, they shall beare their iniquitie.

20 “‘ഒരു പുരുഷൻ തന്റെ അമ്മായിയുമായി ലൈംഗികബന്ധത്തിലേർപ്പെട്ടാൽ അവൻ തന്റെ ഇളയപ്പനെ അപമാനിച്ചു. അവർ കുറ്റക്കാരായിരിക്കും. അവർ സന്താനരഹിതരായി മരിക്കണം.

Likewise the man that lyeth with his fathers brothers wife, and vncouereth his vncles shame: they shall beare their iniquitie, and shall die childlesse.

21 “‘ഒരു പുരുഷൻ തന്റെ സഹോദരന്റെ ഭാര്യയെ വിവാഹംകഴിക്കുന്നെങ്കിൽ, അത് ഒരു മലിനപ്രവൃത്തി; അയാൾ തന്റെ സഹോദരനെ അപമാനിച്ചു. അവർ സന്തതിയില്ലാത്തവർ ആയിരിക്കണം.

So the man that taketh his brothers wife, committeth filthines, because he hath vncouered his brothers shame: they shalbe childles.

22 “‘നിങ്ങൾക്കു വസിക്കാനായി ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളെ കൊണ്ടുപോകുന്ന ദേശം നിങ്ങളെ ഉപേക്ഷിക്കാതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന് എന്റെ എല്ലാ ഉത്തരവുകളും നിയമങ്ങളും പാലിച്ച് അവ അനുവർത്തിക്കുക.

Ye shall keepe therefore all mine ordinances and all my iudgements, and doe them, that the land, whither I bring you to dwel therein, spue you not out.

23 ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളുടെമുമ്പിൽനിന്ന് ഓടിച്ചുകളയുന്ന ജനതയുടെ ആചാരരീതികൾ അനുസരിച്ചു ജീവിക്കരുത്. അവർ ഇവയൊക്കെ ചെയ്തതുകൊണ്ടു ഞാൻ അവരെ കഠിനമായി വെറുക്കുന്നു.

Wherefore ye shall not walke in the maners of this nation which I cast out before you: for they haue committed all these things, therefore I abhorred them.

24 എന്നാൽ ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു, “നിങ്ങൾ അവരുടെ ദേശം കൈവശമാക്കും; പാലും തേനും ഒഴുകുന്ന ആ ദേശം ഞാൻ നിങ്ങൾക്ക് അവകാശമായിത്തരും.” ജനതകളിൽനിന്നു നിങ്ങളെ വേർതിരിച്ച ദൈവമായ യഹോവ ഞാൻ ആകുന്നു.

But I haue saide vnto you, ye shall inherite their land, and I will giue it vnto you to possesse it, euen a land that floweth with milke and honie: I am the Lord your God, which haue separated you from other people.

25 “‘നിങ്ങൾ അതുകൊണ്ടു ശുദ്ധവും അശുദ്ധവുമായ മൃഗങ്ങൾതമ്മിലും ശുദ്ധവും അശുദ്ധവുമായ പക്ഷികൾതമ്മിലും വേർതിരിക്കണം. നിങ്ങൾക്ക് അശുദ്ധമായി ഞാൻ മാറ്റിയിട്ടുള്ള ഏതൊരു മൃഗത്താലോ പക്ഷിയാലോ നിലത്തു ചരിക്കുന്ന യാതൊന്നിനാലുമോ നിങ്ങളെത്തന്നെ അശുദ്ധരാക്കരുത്.

Therefore shall ye put difference betweene cleane beastes and vncleane, and betweene vncleane foules and cleane: neither shall ye defile your selues with beastes and foules, nor with any creeping thing, that ye ground bringeth forth, which I haue separated from you as vncleane.

26 യഹോവയായ ഞാൻ വിശുദ്ധനായതുകൊണ്ടു നിങ്ങൾ എനിക്കു വിശുദ്ധരായിരിക്കണം. എനിക്കു സ്വന്തമായിരിക്കേണ്ടതിനു നിങ്ങളെ ഞാൻ ഇതര ജനതകളിൽനിന്ന് വേർതിരിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

Therefore shall ye be holie vnto me: for I the Lord am holy, and I haue separated you from other people, that ye shoulde be mine.

27 “‘നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയിൽ വെളിച്ചപ്പാടുകളോ ഭൂതസേവക്കാരോ ആയ സ്ത്രീപുരുഷന്മാർ ഉണ്ടെങ്കിൽ അവർ മരണശിക്ഷ അനുഭവിക്കണം. നിങ്ങൾ അവരെ കല്ലെറിയണം; അവരുടെ രക്തം അവരുടെ തലമേലിരിക്കും.’”

And if a man or woman haue a spirite of diuination, or soothsaying in them, they shall die the death: they shall stone them to death, their blood shalbe vpon them.
